This is a themed version of the Droid 3/XT860 keyboard.

Download and unzip XT862_Blur_odexed.zip
If you still have the stock Blur latinIME.apk then just replace that with the new one.
Set correct permissions (rw-r--r--). You're done so reboot.
But, if you did replace the stock keyboard, put the latinIME.apk and latinIME.odex in /system/app/
Then put libjni_latinime.so in /system/lib/
Set correct permissions for all files

But, if you did replace the stock keyboard, put the latinIME.apk and latinIME.odex in /system/app/

If anyone has a rom based on the Droid 3 [XT862] (MavROM, DarkDroid, Liberty etc.) then follow the XT862 Blur Deodexed directions and replace all three files.
Other variants (XT883, etc.) follow the XT862 directions
If this doesn't work for you, let me know.
Note: These zip files are NOT flashable
And as always, backup your files
It has become apparent that this is not working for many people, and I don't know why because it is working perfectly for me. Anyways, I advise you not to try this unless you have a backup of your original files and if you can get your orig. keyboard back.
This spot is taken......

has this worked for anyone?
Can't get this to work. Does owner and group need to be root? I changed that also but still nothing. And i can't get my old keyboard back either, so i'm stuck with using the slide out. I'm really a noob at this, but shouldn't the LatinIME show up as a installed app? If it is, how do i add it back?
Im using safestrap version of steeldroid3

It seems I can't flash to 2.3.1 GRH78 because I get "assert failed apply_patch mms.apk" while applying zip through recovery.
I am using rootboot.img from koush.
The mms.apk is the custom app w/black background.i think the update is trying to patch the original mms.apk and failing.
Has anyone encountered this issue? Can someone post original mms.apk

I ran into the same problem earlier today. I used the mms.apk from Cyanogenmod to try and fix my blurry MMS issues.
I think I'm just going to flash Paul's ROM tomorrow when he includes the OTA.
Here you are!
I had the same problem too with the black Mms.apk. So, I reverted back to the stock Mms from Supercurio's system dump, then, I just used adb to push it and solved my problem.
Well, looks like it's easier to find the Mms.apk ^^^^

I can't seem to install the stock mms.apk.
adb install attached Mms.apk
I get "Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_INSUFFICIENT_STORAGE]" I have more than enough storage.
I also tried doing adb install Mms.apk and I get
"Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_DEXOPT]"
Any ideas?
I also tried to to push to /system/app and reboot but that didn't work. Does it have to do with me missing Mms.odex file?
Another way is to used Root Explorer or DDMS File Explorer in Eclipse. I've included a screen shot. If you don't already have Eclipse setup you can find How too - HERE to setup.
Wipe and flash Paul's gingerbread ROM and then push black mms and gmail again. You don't lose root, you get 2.3.1 and a few other goodies like ext4 performance tweak
.
I'll try that .
i ended up flashing the stock nandroid with 2.3.1 , rooting and keeping the regular mms and gmail.
Thanks

I had DL30 and loved the Samsung Keyboard, actually preferred it above the android, swype and gingerbread keyboards.
So i went ahead and I pulled the AxT9IME.apk and libXt9core.so out of DL30 and put it onto EB01. rebooted my phone and the Samsung keyboard came up as an option. Selected it and it just force closes until I switch back to another keyboard.
Does anyone have any idea what I should do to get this to run correctly? Am i missing another lib.so file?
Any help would be great. Thanks
Thanks imnuts for posting the zip file.
***See post 11 to download!
there was talk about this in the irc today...the file you need that makes the keyboard work with eb01 is actually from a captivate rom. it is called libdhwr.so. its working on my phone, but i dont have a link to the file anymore. ill see if i can link it to you somehow.
heres a link to the file... http://db.tt/xoNjtyc. ..i take no credit for this...someone else figured it out (sorry i forgot your name)
So where do u apply this file

grab file from the link above (libdhwr.so) and then down load DL30 to extract the files in my original post.
Then using root explorer put AxT9IME.apk in system/app folder
Then put libXt9core.so and libdhwr.so in system/lib folder.
I just rebooted and then the keyboard was there.

Imnuts. Flashing that by itself would give me the keyboard?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Man I love the design of the Samsung kb but I really don't like the auto correct or whatever. When I'm typing it feels like the keys are shifting or something even though they don't appear to be? I hope that makes sense. Lol
auto correct can be disable in setting under language & keyboard then choose Samsung keypad. look through there and you will find the options to disable auto correct.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
You can also use Rom manager to install zip or using Rom manager to install with sos3's build your own setup and just download the Samsung keypad.

Saw the zip, everything is working now
I managed to get the Mms.apk from Cyanogen working on my stock deodexed rom. Settings works perfectly. All I did was compile against the stock sources, and voila, it all works.
I have only tested it on my Rogers i9020a Nexus S, running 2.3.4. Let me know if you have any issues.
I have attached both an apk for package installers, and also a zip for cwm. I highly recommend making a backup of your existing Mms.apk before trying this one, just in case.
Sweet! Thanks for this.
So you decompiled and recompiled? Can u explain more?
i grabbed the latest code for Mms from the cyanogen project on github, and i just replaced the stock Mms source with the one from cyanogen in the android source. i then compiled it, tested it on my phone, and it worked!
Oh ok. Nice job! Works great on Oxygen 2.2.1

The Cyanogen MMS is more configurable. You can toggle between the standard white background and black background, you can change the font size, SMS split options, change the attachment save folder, custom user agent and other things.

After updating to latest bugless release installing isn't working anymore, it keeps going back to stock after a reboot. I used root explorer to delete stock and stuck the apk in system/apps and matched permissions and that worked.

I know where it is but I'm not telling its a secret only a handful know , I might get in trouble for just acknowledging it exists. But if one were to look into the UNL3ASH3D ROM said person might stumble across it in hiding.
How difficult would it be to extract it from the zip of the Unl3ash3d ROM? Not even sure what it's called. I love this keyboard, but not ready to flash this ROM.
Unzip it and look in the data folder extract latinim3vo or something close to that, I can't remember the exact name and it should install.
Or you can try this though I haven't tested it yet (removed for space)

I find it very annoying that the stock launcher comes with 5 screens and you are completely unable to add or remove any of them. I have never needed or used more than 3 screens so it is quite inconvenient to have a launcher with 5 screens that I cannot edit. So, I decompiled the stock ICS launcher and edited the layout to contain 3 screens. I would add an option to edit the screen count in the app itself but I have not compiled ICS on my computer and I do not plan to do so (at least until I upgrade my RAM).
I have also uploaded a version with 7 screens. I tried to allow screen rotation as well but ran into some issues when editing the AndroidManifest.xml. I'll see if I can get it working though.
Download 3 screens: http://www.multiupload.com/ZE4AY4IUM2
Download 7 screens: http://www.multiupload.com/ECCSUYTKI8
To install (rename to Launcher2.apk)
via adb:
Code:
adb push /path/to/downloaded/Launcher2.apk /system/app/
via root file manager:
- copy modified Launcher2.apk to sdcard. Copy from sdcard to /system/app/ and overwrite existing Launcher2.apk

You also need to update your SDK package and pull the newest aapt.exe from the platform-tools folder and place that in APK Manager along with the updated APK Tool.
The new apktool gets you decompiling but you need the aapt.exe to complete the package so you can re compile....
