Should I get a Thrill? - LG Thrill 4G

I currently have an HTC HD7S but being a tech head, I'm getting bored.
Is it worth getting the Thrill or is its already dead in the custom rom area?

Not dead, but calm. In actuality, though, there's been a jumpstart in posting the last couple days and a few have been promising to me. Additionally, GB is now scheduled to be released the 27th for the optimus 3d which should give the thrill a custom gb rom in days by that point. I'm days away from my trade deadline, but I'm staying pretty devoted to the phone I've decided I love. Now if only we could get a stock browser without this damn toolbar at the bottom...

I just picked mine up last Friday. I'm coming off an Atrix, and so far I'm not looking back.
The screen is fantastic, the phone is smooth, and it doesn't seem to have some of the issues the Attic suffers from.
It was between this and the Galaxy S II, and I wanted the HDMI. Also, the Thrill felt better.
Besides gimmick or not, the 3D is cool.

Thanks for the opinions. A family member of my has it and I've had the pleasure of using it. But I'm pretty much set on getting it.
Also, I was reading yesterday the ICS source code is released. Any devs interested in that?
EDIT: Honeycomb is available as well

I was going to say I don't know if I had an upgrade right now if it would be the phone I'd pick. I'd more than likely get a Note. But I've come to really like this phone and wouldn't trade it unless a Thrill with a 4.5 inch screen, 16 gig storage, and ICS came out.
Of course, then it'd still be a Thrill

Hmmmm...I downloaded xScope pro when it was the Amazon free app of the day. But I have yet to use it as my browser. Guess it's time to give it a shot.

IMO, I wouldn't waste my time on the Thrill. I stuck it out for a while thinking that LG actually gave a crap about us, just to be let down. They have committed to a Gingerbread release on the 21st to the International version. No commitment at all to the Thrill other than maybe by the end of December or early January.
With the very slow development going on it, I decided I had enough and jumped to the SGS2 Skyrocket instead. Do I miss the 3D ability?.....Of course. But I gained LTE (when available in my area) and an 8MP camera instead with increased speed over the Thrill and a lot more dev potential (and is going on already).
I would have a hard time now recommending anyone to the Thrill that cares about overall speed and performance, let alone support from the manufacturer. If someone wants 3D and doesn't mind a luke warm device, then the Thrill may suit them fine.
Just my opinion. I had such high hopes for it when I bought it.

Seriously, some people forget it's a phone. Without fast development, it's still a damn good one for now, and with development, it'll be amazing in the future. How many MP my camera is, I couldn't care less. It's more about the size of the cmos sensor than the resolution, and the only phone I'll trade for when it's available, nexus of course, will have one nice 5mp cam. Samsung let me down for way too long with my craptivate, so I can wait a bit for GB again. As for the O3D version, that'll be close enough. Oh, by the time LTE reaches my house (and most), I'm sure I'll be eligable for another upgrade. Loving this phone, despite my few hates.

Ask yourself this question: Do I want ROM selection? The answer to the title of this thread is the opposite of your answer to that question.
If you don't flash ROMs, the Thrill is better than the Atrix or Atrix 2, its definately the best phone in the <$99 price range. But for a little more the GS II (i777 not skyrocket, the skyrocket will be only slightly less of a ghost town than here) is teasing you with so many ROM choices it will burn a hole in your SD card.

The funny thing is Ive got all the bugs worked out of my Thrill. The thing has ZERO issues for me. I cant think of a single reason not to recommend the Thrill. I could care less about a selection of Roms. Most are just re-themes of the same..exact..thing. All I need is one solid rom and Im golden. That was the thing I LOVED about my Aria. For the longest time there were only 2-3 roms available for it but they were all rock solid and offered everything you could get out of a rom. We had ONE kernel available to us, but it worked flawlessly, so we didnt need anymore kernels. Move along to the Captivate and while I had 200,000 roms to choose from none of them felt finished, half of them were the same rom I had just flashed with a different battery icon, and they all had issues. Even CM7 for the Captivate never felt as solid as it did on my Aria. I never ended up being happy with my Captivate even though it was the "superior "phone to my Aria.
The Thrill is a solid phone. It had a lot of issues upon release and a LOT of people didnt stick around because of that. Gingerbread is here, and from what ive been hearing its already made the Thrill into even more of a beast and its only a pre-release leak (unfortunately I dont have a Windows machine so I cant flash the baseband to even try it ). And with the ICS source released we will have ICS fairly quickly. Gingerbread was a tough port due to ZERO Omap4 devices running it (it wasnt just the Thrill) so we had to try to start from scratch, but the first ICS device has almost the exact CPU (higher clockspeed and better imaging capabilities) and the GPU IS the same. That alone will kickstart development of ICS as we can port ICS rather than try to build it from scratch.
But enough of my ranting Im going to sleep!

I hope so. It's such a great device. It sucks some good phones are left out. I used to have a backflip, so I remember the pain of not having a good, stable rom.
Just like you though, I have faith someone with jump into the phone.

Thrill 4G kills all the phones

Hi to all of you.
The LG Thrill 4G kills all the phones I had until now with build quality and speed even the paper phone Galaxy S 2. This year I tried, here we go Nexus one, G2, Mytouch 4G, Galaxy s Captivate and Vibrant, G2X, Htc Sensation, Atrix 4g, Infuse 4G and still have the Nexus S just for having the most up to date software. How you guys feel ? don't you think its a better phone in general even its on 2.2 which is not a problem because in general I don't see there is a huge difference between 2.2 and 2.3 for me.
Love the screen, speed, build quality, plays any video without a problem, the sound, the only thing I see now is the battery draining fast but it will get better in 2 weeks once it goes true couple of cycles of charges, please share how you feel thanx.
Just loving the phone that's all

so far i have to disagree.
Ive had the Atrix, Inspire, Infuse, & Captivate this year.
This is my least favorite of all of them.
Horrible battery, Delayed response on wake, outdated OS, gets hot, etc etc.
As soon as the GS2 releases ill be switching.
The 3D is a gimmick and will never be anything more than that on a cell phone.
I do agree with you on that. Im getting 2800 on my bech mark which is pretty good for froyo. I like the omap processor better then the others. This chipset has the same gpu that samsung uses so you will get pretty good performance. I have been running into a little issue with my device freakin out. Hopefully I can get cyanogenmod on here. I also found an extended batter for this thing too so looking into doing that so it will last a lot longer

Battery: I agree, it drains a lot faster than my Infuse 4G did, but that much was expected due to the dual-core CPU etc.
Delayed response on wake: I don't have this issue, and I'm using WidgetLocker.
outdated OS: A lot of people complain about that, but no one ever explains WHY they want gingerbread. I had it on the Infuse - yes, it was not, but there's nothing that I could do in Gingerbread that I can't do now, except say that I have Gingerbread. I have a problem with people who "demand" the latest OS but have no idea why they want or need it.
Gets hot: also not having the issue, but I'm using the stock cable that came with the phone.
I have some complaints but they are minor (like how I'm always accidentally hitting the 3D button), and I'm glad that I returned my Infuse for the Thrill. Once cyanogen is released I will be golden.

after playing with pretty much all of the above, I have to agree..this phone rocks.
the 3d is much better than a gimmick assuming you pay attention to how to use it. I have compared it to the Evo3d and the NDS3d and of course our 3d TV...
It's great...if you don't see it..you're doing it wrong..plain and simple.
It's an added bonus to all of the other great things about this phone. I have run, and will continue to run more tests on the Thrill side by side with the infuse and the US SGS2 ...so far the Thrill stomps the Samsung phones ...every single time.
It is a more comfortable fit for me than the infuse, but I think that is because my previous phone was an Evo...the weight and dimensions are very similar.
Build quality is great..I don't feel like it is going to break if I hold it wrong
I don't get the lag that some have experienced but I also did some minor tweaks to speed things up a bit.
Sumper Amoled blah blah blah... I love the Sammy screens, I compared their screens to others and until now, I favored the sammy screen... This Thrill has a much better screen than what I expected (especially after all of the negative reviews it received on the screen)
The LG widgets are awesome..they make sense, they are perfectly sized, and they work within launcher pro..yay!
anyway..I still have some testing to do ..I have not played many games on the Thrill, and have a few select games that were only playable on the Infuse so I want to try those out.
The only thing the atrix had that interested me was dev support...I disliked just about everything else about it
We will get that support..or we will create it buwahahahaha
I agree about the 3D - it's not the main reason why I was interested in the phone, but it's an added bonus, and one that I enjoy very much. I thought it was just a gimmick at first too, but then I took a test picture in the AT&T store of my two-year-old, and I was sold from that moment. I look at it like this: 3D is becoming more and more prevalent, whether you think it's a gimmick or not. The movie and electronics industries are throwing their money behind it. Do I want to miss out on being able to display 3D pictures of my two-year-old 10 years from now when ALL TVs are 3D capable because I thought it was a fad?
Granted there are probably better phones with better 3D capabilities coming down the pipe, but by then she will be 3 or even 4 years old. I can upgrade again if the need arises. But I certainly don't want to look back and say "I wish I had a 3D picture of that to share." Now I will.
Agreed i had the atrix with laptop dock and i was discusted with with it plus in.all the test ive.ran thrill beats em up! with the extra money i bought a gtab wifi so im a happy camper anywho plus i guess i dont really need pc specs in my picked aka gs2 i dont feel like saying . Dude this has 1.2ghz dual core blah blah i rather just say look at my phone it has 3 d lol
Anywho im happy with my buys recently!

Here's my .02. This year I have had the captivate, inspire 4g, iphone 4 and now the thrill. I have to say the thrill is BY FAR my favorite out of the devices. I experience no lag whatsoever, GPS works perfect, reception is MUCH MUCH better than the inspire, screen is more vibrant than the inspire, web browser blows the captivate out of the water (freezing issue with flash content on every samsung phone I've tested), camera is on point, and I even like the interface/widgets LG has included. My only complaints are battery life which is a problem on any android phone and the earpiece sounds a little weird but nothing major. Bottom line, this phone rocks!
Anyone throw CM7 on this baby yet? How's it running?
Agree with most of what has been said. Have had the phone for 3 days now. (well actually it has been in my possesion for about half that time as my 11 year keeps nabbing it to play NOVA).
Just a quick questions though. Anybody have the freezing problem that the G2x had? My phone just did it right after a 4 minute conversation and I was trying to run OOKla Speedtest. Had to pull battery to get it to reboot.
Last night I had that issue right after a phone call. The screen turned black wouldnt turn on. I will see how it goes for the next few days.
No freezing here after 4 days with the phone.
I do love the OP's first words though, I think I will say that next time I walk into a room with a bunch of iPhone sheep. "Hi to all of you. The LG Thrill 4G kills all the phones." And hold up my phone. Should be fun.

Yeah has this phone since Sunday and I love it. I have had 0 lag issues. Apps install almost instantly the screen is very impressive for being a LCD the size and weight are perfect. Large screen and I like a little weight to my devices makes them feel like they wont break on me.
My phone gets warm with heavy use but never hot I havent had to worry about overheating and I have been using the crap out of this phone. The 3D is good, gives me a headache and my eyes go crossed if look at it too long but, it works well especially if you adjust the field depth correctly for the scene. The 1080p video looks great as do the photos. Froyo is just fine I can wait for gingerbread as long as att/lg actually come through. Either way roms will take care of that.
Anybody else switch from the android keyboard to the lg one? I like the look of the lg keyboard better than stock android or anything else on the market.
Oh and I agree "kills all the phones" needs to be a meme.

I do a lot of gaming on android devices and I have the chainfire installed using the tegra drivers and I put riptide gp on it.. A game I originally had on my galaxy tab 10.1 which has the tegra native chipset.. I saw no difference in speed or graphics or anything.... My friend did the same stuff to his infuse 4g and when I play it side by side my phone is smooth and fluid!!!!! This phone is a powerhouse!!! Oh and I,use swype keyboard

all I can say is it sure is hungry. Extreme heavy use gets me 8-9 hours of use. Haven't had a chance to see 'Normal' use yet. Banning it from my son might help. going to have look for an extended or backup battery.
I'm using the "android" keyboard. I might try swiftkey again; it lagged the heck out of my captivate but it was free so I tried it.

Hmm, sadly I can agree with most of this. The 3D is 'OK' but not great.
I find myself Overheating, Uninstalling, & Lowering Brightness A LOT!
I personally have a sensual love for the phone
But sadly it's not something I can rely on for a full day basis. I'm currently saving up money just so I can get my hands on the CHEAPO Huawei just put on AT&T.
I might put the LG Thrill ROM on my Huawei cause of the weather app & other personal reasons.
If there's a 10/1 on LG, I am dissappointed. 7 At the most for my daily use! 4 On keeping me changing and uninstalling things.

What's wrong with Thrill?

Everyone keeps saying there returning there Thrill, its not worth it, blah blah blah. What's so wrong with this phone besides Froyo? Just curious causevim Thrilled about my purchase
I'm seeing alot of people are pissed about the thrill because its running froyo. An outdated system on a new device is what they say. People are holding out for the galaxy s 2. What they don't seem to get is all over the net there are videos and comparisons to the galaxy s 2 and the thrill. The results are pretty much dead even. Some parts the thrill destroys the s2 in tests, NEVER DOES THE S2 DO THE SAME. and guess what the s2 is running the latest version of android. So with that said, once we get gingerbread people will be eating there words. Plus people don't understand all dual core phones are the same except for the thrill/optimus 3D, this phones internals are so unique that we have dual channel support. Watch this video, it just makes sense >>>

Personally I love this phone and to be honest I get better battery life outta this phone than my atrix. Y I'm not sure. I don't have any lag issues so my real life experience is great.

In my experience, people don't even know what the differences are between Froyo and Gingerbread; they just want the latest so they can tell their nerd friends that they have the latest.
I know the differences, which is why I'm not so gung ho - yes, it's later and it improves on some things, but the differences are mainly beneath the surface so I don't get the fascination with the latest.
When Ice Cream Sandwich is released, will people be returning their GS2s for something newer?
I agree with everyone above, I love this phone and have not had any problems with speed or lag. Gingerbread will come but to be honest I would rather LG just give us Ice Cream Sandwich as soon as it comes out at this point in the Gingerbread game. And after using the 3D for games and I even rented Sanctum and it looked fantastic, I don't think I could not have 3D now.
There's nothing wrong with the Thrill. Very beautiful device and works extremely well.
I guess this quote explains the reason people keep returning it very well, "The grass is always greener on the other side."
I have the rogers optimus 3d (which i beleive is the same as the thrill). I love the device so far. The only issues i have with it as of now are the tinny speaker and the lack of a bluetooth hid profile (I want to use a bt keyboard!!) I hope development picks up soon.
Sent from my LG-P925g using XDA App
I just cant get over how HORRIBLE this battery is. I have owned several android devices this year and by far this one takes the cake for crappy battery. Hopefully Gingerbread improves it like it helped the Inspire (which was way better even with froyo) but I wont be sticking around to see it.
That and the delay with opening certain apps like the camera (which takes about 5 seconds to load) and the delay when waking the phone up im just amazed at how low quality this device is. The 3D is cool, but I need a device that can atleast meet the standards of a low-end smartphone when it comes to anything else.
I'm glad to see some optimism here. Who the heck cares what ROM comes on the phone? Maybe I'm just overly optimistic, but this is my fourth Android phone (G1, MT3G, G2X, now Thrill) and I've never run a stock ROM for more than a month or so (or however long it takes for custom ROMs to be released). The phone has already been rooted, Clockwork is out (albeit still in beta), and it's only 10 days old. We'll have custom GB 2.3.5 on this beast in no time, and we won't care that it's still running Froyo on stock.

Just a quick goodbye...

My toughest decision today was CM7, MIUI, gtg465x's ROM, DesignGears's ROM, MikeyMike's ROM, or one of the three devs from the Infuse's ROMs. Or I can choose any i9100 ROM. Plus in a month or two I will have to choose which ICS ROM I want.

Thats all well and good... no 3D though... plus, i like a challenge and it is a good phone. And if everyone just keeps crying and switching instead of getting their hands dirty and doing some hard developing this phone will never reach its full potential, which is a real shame...
As soon as i have time i will begin developing for this phone...
I dont have a ton of experience building roms and such, but im pretty tech-smart, built my own multitouch table, play with "processing" from time to time, way back in the day ran android on my htc kaiser tilt as my first android phone.

The 3D would have been better if the viewing angle was wider than 5 degrees. I could only get movies and pictures taken with that phone to ever appear nice. I tried several 3D movies, and I couldn't get any of them to work where they were watchable, my eyes were too far apart for the viewing angles, there was a break in the middle, that moved as I breathed and unperceptable moved the phone.
It wasn't the dev support that took me away it was the Bluetooth and battery life on the phone. If my phone had working bluetooth, I would still be flying the Thrill flag.
Good luck deving on this phone, I know it has great untapped potential.
im hoping gingerbread will be out before att get's the nexus. if so i'll stick with this phone maybe.

There are three galaxy devices coming out for AT&T in the next couple/few months. Right now they're on GB, I'm sure they'll be released on ICS. Next year is going to be an interesting year for phone releases with quad core madness brimming like crazy. I guess my disappointment in all this is it feels like phones released yesterday are forgotten about when new phones are released. And I'm not just referring to the Thrill. I suppose that's the way of tech things.
I wish 1 of 2 things would happen--
AT&T would let me move my unlimited data to a tablet and I could get a non-smart phone for texting and calling only.
AT&T would get the Note

hi, about to buy an optimus 2x, any suggestions?

just broke my galaxy s for the third time, so i think its time to move on. i have to decide to move to an optimus 2x, or an atrix. what u guys think? From what i saw, optimus have a better camera, what means a lot for me, lg have the best cellphone cameras imo. atrix have what it seens a little more speed and more space (16gb)
what do you guys suggest me?
I would not but a LG ever again. Imho Sony camera is much better.
Sent from my LG-P990 using xda premium
sony camera is cool too, but locked bootloader and still no dual core phone (or am i late?)
o2x imo is better than the atrix, the atrix has more memory so if that's what your after then get that, i love the design and shape and size of my o2x and if it wasn't for the ****ty lg support and nvidia ****ing with us by holding back vital drivers needed for ICS dev then this phone would be the best iv ever had.
The camera is pretty great iv never seen the atrix camera so cant compare tho.
The benchmarks tests always seem to show the o2x to be ahead of the atrix even tho they both have a tegra 2 chipset.
But with the customs roms this phone is pretty decent, its fast responsive, get a custom home screen and it will be smooth as you can imagine, the lg home screen is rather choppy but i use it because i like the way you can organize apps and games into separate category rather than just throwing them together into a big mess if you can do that with adw or go launcher then someone please tell me how so i can switch.
I only paid £200 for my o2x brand new so i cant complain too much, defo worth it compared to the 400-500 they are asking for that overpriced crap called the sgs2, decent phone.... ****ty price tag, no phone is worth that much.
In Australia there are close to no people using Optimus 2xes due to no one selling them on plans/contracts. Every second person has a galaxy s2 though so they can't be that bad.
I would lean towards avoiding the atrix due to the locked bootloader. Apparently there's a 50% chance of bricking it.

If you can get it for £300 or less this is an amasing phone with cyangemod on it. Nvidias playing ball now so ics will be brill on here. Theres even rumours that yhe cm team have a alpha build of ics all features working minus camera. Its looking rosey and bright for this phone. I love it plays everything i throw at it, games, vids and music

It's quite possible that they sent RC what he needed, he's been asking them since day one, and is a serious coder, rather than the 'cook' type 'dev'.
I would say get one, the stock GB is apparently much improved over froyo, and CyanogenMod is just great, that's the reason I bought mine in the first place.
If I hadn't have managed to get a freebie, I'd keep mine.
For its money LG O2X is the best phone.
Please, don't buy that phone!
It's have the worst supported in the WORLD.
Nvidia and LG = S**T
I sell my phone, and Im really happy with that choice.
And I don't wanna see that phone again.
The best choice for you is the HTC, more beautiful and intuitive homescreen, custom roms, etc...
And forget about the Galaxy S2, this only good because the Super Amoled, and Camera, nothing more...
Cumps
ok, so i think i will choose atrix, since sg2 is too expensive for me

Yeah common trend, people ask for advice then ignore it and buy whatever they want. Perhaps this thread will be useful for those whose stumble across it on Google.

Yes you should buy it, looks great and does what its supposed to in no time. Got mine today and it came with Gingerbread out the box.
gr8 phone..
dude its a lovely phone.. go for it.. with stock gingerbread, its awesome no more stupid issues..
the htc high end smartphones not near as fast like the o2x or the sgs2, the hardware component quality is low, if htc not change that it will be died. maybe the rom is good but it just candy.. if you want a phone what is broken often go ahead and buy a htc. i had many htc, i never ever want again.
sgs2 it will be a good choice if isn't very overpriced. by the way the samsung company almost act like the apple, soon booth company will be in the android users blacklist. o2x is a good choice but the stock lg rom is a crap, you need to flash one of the custom roms!

Insight on the Thrill

hey guys, I was hoping to get some help from some thrill users. I'm hoping I can get a little honesty here, I am doing research for a buddy on the thrill. I have checked out specs, and spec wise seems like a nice device. I just wanted some insight on state of this device, whether its a good purchase or not, i have found some nice deals on this device bare in mind im buying full price so i want to have a device that will have a little bit of longevity. here are some things i hope you guys can share some insight on:
reliability of device, hardware/software
development does it look good will there be ICS i didnt notice ics roms
any alarming things to know about the device before buying
known issues
i ask all this because the G2x for tmobile seems to be a nightmare, hoping this is a better device thanks for any help you guys can provide
I'm pretty happy with my Thrill, but I was disappointed in how long it took to get GB out for it. I'm not sure if we will ever see ICS. The camera is excellent, battery life is ok (I bought a 3500mAh battery and have to charge up nightly). The 3D is kind of a gimmick, but it does work well.
I found that it's much snappier with a custom ROM. I'm currently using Lestatious AcidHazard from the dev forum here. Both ADW and GoLauncher are much better than the default "LG Home" launcher.
Overall, not bad for my first Android phone. I upgraded from an iPhone 3GS and will never look back at Apple, but for my next one I may consider Samsung or HTC just because there seems to be a much larger developer community for their offerings.
Ill give you only my opinion based on my experience with this device. Can't speak for anyone else but I'm sure there might be some very diverse opinions about this device.
I feel the Thrill is the underdog in the current Gen of high powered devices. Kinda like if you perchased a low cost car because the price and function fit your needs. Then you discover it had a turbine engine that simply needed to be switched on and calibrated properly. Would be cool and fun although very unlikely. However the Thrill is often referred to as a sleeper. The hardwear is all there but the stock Rom is restrictive. With some patience and proper modification the Thrill is an awesome phone that can outperform many high priced phones and then some.
In most cases from what I have seen many people find a baseband they like, and a rom that works with the baseband, a few tweeks and bam nirvana. Currently the most common issues that I'm aware of are Ghost calls, Bluetooth instability and minor app bugs. We don't have a huge Dev team but the devs we got are darn good and have flat out showed us all what the Thrill is supposed to be.
If you have loaded any roms or rooted a phone then you will be capable of tweaking the Thrill as you like in about 1 day at the most. Do some further research on it first before you dive in so you are fully aware of what your getting in to.
Hope that helps
Its fast as ****. Its nice to the eyes, it sounds good while making calls for me at least.
What else do you need?

coming from the HTC sensation the 3d agreed is fun to play with but a gimic super fast and honestly if the right tweeks were given then the phone would be right behind the sgs2 easily if not keep up the LG 3d Max launcher is what I'm using but it is slower easy fix by getting a launcher from the market I recommend Adw or go launcher the dev work is amazing but slow and the optimus 3d is the exact same phone and is on the official list to receive ics according to popular results on Google but looking at things it'll be years end before we see official ics custom ROM will show up first and more than likely soon since the drop for LG phones supposedly is second and 3rd quarter once agin popular Google results reviled this for me over all I do not regret the switch and believe this phone Will peak at ics but will stay alive for probably another year to a year 1/2 stability is decent but be sure to update to gingerbread as the phone really seems to shine afterwards

Also regular battery on moderate use but with data monitor my battery lasts all day easily

While I'm here asking I hate to be such a noob guys but I don't know much about this phone wanna be careful not to brick it. From what I can understand I have to flash the gb update from LG before flashing gb roms correct? All I did was root the phone and installed a 2.2 Rom to get it going however I couldn't get data working its on a prepaid plan for 50 dollars a month everything else seems to be functioning ok. I wanna get all my ducks in a row for tomorrow when I get more time to get him updated to gb. Any roms that are recommended and or kernels. Cm7 or official update what's working better thanks for any help guys I'm not usually such a noob I'm just use to htcs with s off and such or Samsung's and Odin. LG is like a whole nother animal

Lg update tool worked fine no issues I recommend a stock 2.2 ROM before update then work from there you'll love this phone AFTER you update though to avoid future questions on why you have no signal use an optimus 3d ROM to avoid alot of issues good luck and enjoy

I actually love this phone. It is really fast and the battery life is decent. The camera takes awesome pics and videos. About a month ago I was almost fed up with the phone and the dev on it but after flashing the Mokee ROM I fell in love with the Thrill all over again. If I had to choose a phone right I would pry choose the Note over this but then again most people would.

Pretty much the same situation for me. Also upgraded from a 3GS and I think this phone is awesome and a great first android for me. For the most stability on gingerbread, in my opinion, would be v21e. I flashed the promethius rom and kernel on top of it and my thrill is amazing.
