Hey guys wazzup,
I keep getting this low on space,
while I have 1.3GB free System Storage
and 2GB Internal SD Storage....
why is that?
I'm on CM7 .....
My phone is smellin' somethin'
Restart your phone, it's a bug that happens sometimes.
Check your /datadata folder for free space, if it runs out you can't install apps.
Move some apps to the sd card, this will surely clear room.
That's all off the top of my head.

Cant you just plug it into your computer via a card reader and look at whats on it and where you can get some of your space back?
Or get a bigger storage card
The problem is not the storage card (sorry if that confusing) It the internal storage memory. i am down to 1.75mb for storage and 60mb for programs. I save everything to my memory card, so i dont know why the onboard memory is full.
So its your internal memory? if thats the case make sure to clear ie cookies and also your email attachments will take up alot of space along with mms. Make sure to clear them often and that should help free up some space also you can flash a naked rom or try the one i use, it has alot of free space.
turned out i had accrued 60mb of cookies. Thanx for all the help
lol yeah that happen to me before, just remember to keep clearing it when your done and your quite welcome =)
That's alot of cookies!!! I like my with chocolate ;O
hey guys,
im running the latest cmod build (4.2.13),all my apps are on my partitioned sd card and everything is doing what it is supposed to be doing.
except after a while my phone slows down so much that im not capable of doing anything regular anymore. i found out my internal memory gets filled up after a while (2 weeks?).
currently my internal memory only has 28mb of space left. Also when i reboot the phone the internal memory is still around the same. how is this possible? shouldnt it be like 90mb's of free space..?
what is filling my internal memory so much it slows down my phone like not being capable of using it in an normal matter.
i dont know where its comming from so i dont know how to fix it!
best regards
Well the first step would be to actually go in and check what files are being created, where, and what their sizes are.
and how is that possible? the files are being created in the internal memory, not on the sd card.
Same problem
I have the same issue! Need help!
Try to clean all caches (browser, news, ...) . Application caches fill up often internal memory.
perhaps you can get CacheMate application for this purpose.
i had the same problem and yes, it was the data/cache of my apps that was taking up all my interna memory
I installed the eVil rom on my N1 and I am now constantly getting the low error message. I could not care less about it but it looks like it's preventing the phone from downloading any updates or new apps. Yes I still think I have more than 200MB available. I've zapped lots of apps and slim down what's on the phone to the barebone. I do not want to go through any A2SD workaround, also because I do not really have much on the phone and whatever I can move to the SD has already been moved.
Is there an alternative solution to this bugging message ?
P_
There isnt actually a workaround for this. You simply need more space. While its debatable how much space in enough space, most people would agree that you should keep at least 50mb internal space on a Nexus One. I have 132 apps installed and have 150mb free on mine.
Apps2sd/apps2ext is definetely worth the small amount of time it takes to setup.
You can't have more than 200MB available, since all the app storage space is 196MB.
Apps2EXT doesn't work in the same way as Froyo's Apps2SD, and frees MUCH more space - including Dalvik-cache.
With this message showing, you don't get any text messages (SMS) - they're lost.
Can't I just move the dalvik-cache manually and create a sim link to it.
P_
You can (move it to /cache). You also can do it to the "data/data" folder. You also can completely replicate all the work of Apps2EXT, and you can manually repartition the SD card and write the boot scripts that will mount the EXT partition. The question is - why would you want to waste your time doing that, when somebody already created something that you need.
First off, I suspect you're not looking at the right thing.. Settings->SD Card and Phone Storage and look at Internal Phone Storage for available space.. It's <20, yes?
You can try clearing Browser cache from the Settings->Applications...
How many apps do you have installed? Any HUGE apps, like Nook, Google Earth, Flash, etc? If so, maybe you do need to do apps2ext to free up space.
If that's not enough, then DO NOT move dalvik-cache to /cache, it's NOT BIG ENOUGH. If you're running out of space using apps2ext your dalvik-cache is probably 100M or more, and /cache has 96M, and you do not want to run out of space for dalvik-cache. If you must, move it to the SD card.
Hello everyone, I'm using SGS I9000, with Darky's V10.1 ROM. I recently discovered that my memory space have become extremely low, System Storage has only 1.53GB Storage available space. However, there is a category called USB Storage, where a total space of 13.43GB, with 11.53GB available. I have no external SD card inserted.
So i go to memory usage area, and i try to shift some apps to the "usb storage", apps like angry birds, adobe reader etc, but it gives me this error message "Failed to move application. Not enough memory."
Anyone know what's wrong with my phone?

you have 2 SD in your SGS, one internal and one external
The problem is, i don't have 2 SD in my SGS right now. There's only the internal one, and there is no external sd card inserted in my phone. How can it be possible that my internal memory space has only 1.53GB space left when i don't have much stuffs installed at all?
i9000 has 3 different storages Eg : 16GB
2GB - Phone Storage (ROM)
14GB - Internal SD (Internal Storage)
XGB - External SD (renamed to USB Storage)
Normally the applications are installed in Phone Storage. Don't know why cannot move to "Internal Storage". Only can move to "USB Storage".
Thanks for the clarification, does that mean the internal SD is totally useless? Or just for you to store music/pictures ETC?
I have the same problem: my phone has the orange sd card on the slide down menu which say "internal memory full"
I have no apps other then a timer, a virusscanner and whatsapp and then all the apps that come with the phone. All the files I have on the phone I have stored on the external SD.
I deleted all my sms messages, whatsapp chats and I even uninstalled whatsapp to make sure that it's not that, but it still says my internal memory is full.
When I look at the apps, Thinkfree is the biggest program on it with 9mb, followed by Adobe Reader with 8mb.
What can be done? I have this phone for not even 6 months now and I'm ready to brick the phone but by this I mean: throw a f*cking brick on it!
Sigh, this is exactly what I was worried about when upgrading from my EVO 3D.
I noticed my new M8 has a sdcard0 and extsdcard folder. And of course, the apps and games which download hundreds of megs of data in order to run are downloading to the 24 gig internal sdcard0 mount point instead of the nearly empty 64gig extsdcard0 mountpoint. I really REALLY hate how so many Android phones seem to do this, why can't it just be partitioned as internal instead of faking a sdcard, thus making large apps install to internal with no option of installing to the actual external card?
Anyway, without rooting my phone, is there any way I can somehow set it so apps download and install their data to the actual SD card? The whole reason I didn't get the M7 was because I don't want my data to be stuck on the phone's internal memory in case anything happens, as well as to not waste internal memory space on several hundred megs or even gigs of data when I can use a large sdcard for that.
I believe u can go to manage apps and move apps to the sd card. Some may not be able to if it's not comparable but a lot of them should.

I tried that, it only moves the app executable to the SD card, not the hundreds of megs of additional data it downloaded. The app management screen even tells me how much of this additional data is on the internal memory and how much of it is on the SD card (it's all on internal), but moving the app doesn't move the additional data to the SD card.
One would assume that the ext sd 's bus interface would be quick enough to not bog any app which would be using it. That being the case htc has no excuse for not having interchangeable symbolic mounting points between the two sd's. Ive physcally moved some of the data from app's (dcim, and random music ) directories to the extsd, and at least it unburdens the internal sd.
The apk resource fork in these systems could be processed better in android and it's sdk, or even the runtime.
F yes it sucks.
