Here is the easiest way to return to stock Gingerbread from GingerVolt or GingerHome. This is the stock system and boot.img.
What is this?
This is the ZV7 stock system and boot.img. It is completely bloated and odexed.

Are you saying that you can get into CWM? If so, once there, run LGNPST and install the desired TOT file. I tested that method the other night and LGNPST will run/update/instal, etc. the TOT while in CWM. I was in the main menu, if that should be any question and make any difference. All went fine.
In other words, you don't need to be booted into your phone to run LGNPST, just in the clockwork recovery.
Hope this works/helps.

Do this have the same effect as using LGNST to push the v7 tot file?

Hey
Where is the software update actually stored on the device? (The 8/4/2011 for the LG Revolution).
Once updated, can yo install CWM? Can it be rooted?
Just hang out, it will not install through cwm. Thecubed is going to be working on it.

I'm sure TheCubed will figure it out with CWM

It possibly could install by changing it to a zip file but who knows what it would mess up. With recovery items in there it may mess up cwm, that is a little above me without doing more research into it.

He's right. Installing the update without removing some stuff from it first (like it's new boot.img and the "installrecovery.sh" script) would possibly softbrick your device.
Decrap2 will take a while to do since it's gonna take a lot of work to apply this update to my ROM (gotta flash back to stock and apply the OTA, then deodex and then remove bing all over again...)

I have two revolution devices.
One was stock (as if I bought it from a VZW store), the other one was with CWM.
The CWM with Decrap on it. (giving lots of issues with the launcher such as missing icons, etc)
Stock is on the latest LG update.
CWM is on the OEM release

Assuming you are on a stock rooted zv4 as you said. Revo toolkit. Install stock recovery. Then check for update. Will bring you to zv6. Then check for update again for gb. Make sure you have plenty of batteries. I did this in the bar the other night and I went from 78 to like 43%

If you don't have BusyBox installed in the correct directory, the REVOTOOLKIT will not work properly. If you left the default of system\xbin, you will need to re-run the busybox installer and choose system\bin this time.
RevoToolKit should work properly after that to put the stock boot image back in place.
I tried flashing to v6 couldn't download the update then I tried flashing to v4 still couldn't grt the update. I'm waiting for the tot flash file for GB cause you have to have GB to use gb roms I think

Flash that, then unroot. Or you can use LGPNST to flash the V7 Gingerbread .tot file. Either way will get you back to stock Gingerbread.
I just used this method and didn't have any issues at all getting back to stock, and I was then able to install the ZV8 update as well.
This may be a dumb question, but if I use the one click root/unroot to unroot my phone for this update, do I need to worry about clearing the caches and removing the rom and theme first or can I just run the unroot.bat file and be good to go?
Anyone have an answer please?

Ok so click back on the link for my dropbox and you will find a flashable zip of my stock kernel for 4.4.2. No guarantees but wipe, flash both zips, and you shoud have stock 4.4.2 rooted and deodexed.

Loki is over my head. I think cwm has loki support. I do believe you can disable loki in cwm somewhere. So disable then reflash.
@Gotroot Sorry for high jacking your thread
