[Q] Android 2.2: How to amplify video volume?

When i play a video on my TV through the TV OUT settings, the volume is just not loud enough. Is there any hack/tweak/apk which would Amplify the media volume?
Im having a Galaxy S with JPY firmware.

I would be interested too, if you actually could increase given by the speaker, would be much better

Not sure if I understand, what I meant is certain video files have a low volume, so it is sometimes required to increase the volume beyond the maximum android limit of 15..

search for audioboost on the market

One I've used myself and it works well.
To make the volume louder you need to:
Dialer *#*#197328640#*#*
[5] AUDIO
[1] HANDSET
[1] VOLUME
[1] SRC Speech RX Volume
[5]5_lvl : 88
Menu -> Key Input
Change to any number greater than 88 (Max:100)

How to set ^^
Speaker :
to make louder you can increase when you tap to speaker and can select between 0-63 stock is 53 but if you make more you will have Gain!! because of the speaker.
and you can set more bass when you scroll down to "AIF1DAC1 EQ2" and set to 10-14 you will have better sound but quieter sound level and faster gain!!
if you will it louder but no gain you must set "AIF1DAC1 EQ2" to 6-0
if you will more height then you must set "AIF1DAC1 EQ4" or "AIF1DAC1 EQ5" higher between 13-16
Method 2.
to make louder type terminal this

X= between 0-63

First you must turn on multi eq under AIF1DAC1 EQ klick and write "on" now you can set equalier
AIF1DAC1 EQ1 =low
AIF1DAC1 EQ2 =midellow
AIF1DAC1 EQ3 =midel
AIF1DAC1 EQ4 =midelhight
AIF1DAC1 EQ5 =hight
then set between 0-31 but i recommend 6-18

Really I have a incredible s and the Optimus 2x sounds much better. Better then my ps3 with HiFi amp
But try this mod with your headfone ^^ and say how loud + bass boost ( set to 14 -15 is enough)

Also i noticed that it revert's to original values after some time of using phone(no restart) didn't catch when that happends yet...

Headamp is the best for volume and sound quality for me. It is little bigger in pocket of course but it sounds amazing! And that's the point.

With boost of 54 they are 2 load for me,also they have great bass so i don't need more

@ Nootubo,great we need solution until Pengus make manager(service) for auto start and checking if the settings are active couse they revert to original values sometimes(for me)
@ dorwoo If you where adressing me about headphones,i got them from friend(free)(he doesn't need them) i would never pay 100$ for in ear headphones even i love music :good:

Wow! I'm generally skeptic to sound mods (eg. I hate beats or acid mods), but this is better than supercurio's voodoo mod! Simply amazing!

On CM10 tonyp's PA build 6 & kowalski kernel 100p3. Have tried increase the headphone output from default (I think it's 45) up to 60 and boy, this mod makes my IEM sound loud. Settled on 55 because on 60 I started hearing that crackling noise. Also tried increasing the speaker output from 53 up to 60, and it worked.
Btw, this mod is also compatible with "direct volume control" of poweramp. Great app & mod!

Unfortunately, it looses all the settings after reboot.

Put some values and then after some time check settings and you will see they are at default values

Hmm i have no time so i had an fast idea with script manager to set a small script at boot
But no eq for the HP you must set manual and back with the script.
And the bug that the time is shut off is I think still there.

I have just switched from cm13 to miui8 downloaded from xiaomi.eu on mi3. As speaker volume is low, which file in /system/etc shall i edit in order to get increased volume??

Let’s face it. Even at max volume, sometimes the speaker on your phone just isn’t loud enough (Yes, I’m looking at you Nexus 5). *However, you*could digitally raise the maximum volume that the speaker allows itself to go to. This will require a rooted android device and could run the risk of damaging your speakers if you go too high, so be warned.
What You will Need:
A rooted Android DeviceES File Explorer
Step 1: Mounting the System
Open up ES file explorer and enable the root explorer. *Then tap on the root explorer tab and a menu will pop up. *Select the Mount R/W tab and mount both*system and /*as*r/w.

Step 2: Locating the mixer_paths.xml
Now, navigate to*/System/etc*and open up the*mixer_paths.xml*with ES note editor. *Before you start making changes, go up into the settings and select*edit*on the file.

To change the speaker volume, look for the line*RX7 Digital Volume*under the*Path name= Speaker*and change the value to whatever you desire. *(Going over 95 has the potential of blowing your speaker though).

To change the headphone volume, *look for the lines:

I am experiencing low sound in calls after latest update 4.0.3 . Any fixes available ?

Guys after looking into some threads , i got something useful . my call volume is fixed .
Download BuildProp Editor by JRummy on the Google Play Store and open it up. Tap on the “pencil” icon in the top right to bring up the manual editing mode. Scroll all the way to the bottom and add either of the build.prop lines mentioned above and set it equal to the number of volume steps you want to have. For example, entering these two commands at the end will double the number of in-call volume steps and media volume steps respectively.
ro.config.vc_call_vol_steps=14
ro.config.media_vol_steps=30
Once you’ve entered these commands, reboot your phone. If it worked, you should now have as many volume steps as you specified in build.prop.

Thanks for this post. I suffered from annoying low in call volume on my previous device so know how irritating it can be, especially when making calls in busy areas, like a road with heavy traffic. I've only had this device for a few days and since getting it have been away in an area where there is next to no mobile signal so I have not taken or received any calls.
Question
What you have written would seem to suggest that the prop changes would increase the number of volume steps that are applicable for each volume type, but, does does this really alter the actual maximum volume setting? if not then I can't see that this is a fix.

i think it alters the max volume but i am not sure but my low call volume is definitely fixed . I just added the lines which i mentioned above.

Testing on my Mi A1, now I have to wait to receive a call. (*Insert a Forever Alone Meme)
EDIT: It changes the number of incremental steps, but the maximum volume remains the same.

Does this fix work on latest OxygenOS betas? There was a TWRP flashable zip before but not sure if it works still.

Flashable zip worked on nugatt but not work in oreo since tasha mixer files are in different localization, you need to manual change values in tasha_miser_paths.xml in system/vendor/etc root folder.

magisk module named "low in call volume fix oneplus 3/3t for RR" not sure if the name is exactly the same but just type "low in" and the module should show up. Tho its for RR i use it on beta 25 and the issue is fixed ! :good:

Increasing the volume steps in root\System\build.prop didn't change the output volume for me.
I solve this issue by modifying a single parameter in "root"\system\vendor\etc\mixer_paths_mtp.xml

Fixed it by editing the RX0-RX8 Digital Volume values from 84 to 94 in mixer_paths_tasha.xml file found in /vendor/etc folder and it works! Now I keep the call volume 1-2 levels lower than full. Tried it on OxygenOS beta 24. Thanks for the help everyone.

[GUIDE] headphone volume boost / increase / fix (both ROOT/noroot)

if you have root
1. Install QUICKEDIT (free from play store)
2. Open file: /vendor/etc/mixer_paths.xml
3. Search for HPHL/HPHR values (first screenshot) and change the value to 20
4. Search for RX1 digital volume (and RX2... Like on attached screenshots) and change values to 86-88. Dont change values any higher for safety reasons
5. SAVE file, exit Quickedit
6. REBOOT
7. enjoy!

No, this values only changes volume gain via 3,5 jack for headphones. So this will not work for Bluetooth /speaker (internal or external).
If you connect phone via line-in cable to car/speaker aux input, volume will be boosted

I got root on my stock rom MIUI 12.02. I changed the values as recommended (even raised RX1 and 2 to 94) but there is no difference. Still too low volume.

How i can only boost earpiece in-call volume manual with edit vendor/etc/mixer_paths.xml, what i need to do ?
On lineage os 17.1 in-call volume is very low.
