Boot Loader problem - HD7 General

Hi. I have a problem with my htc hd7 t-mobile us.
Firstly I want to tell the story briefly.
In June 2011 I installed Mango Beta. In October I installed Mango Final Build via Zune. This build was installed successfully, but the small HTC update (from Zune too) was not installed due to some error. After that my phone started to reboot accidentally and very often. After a week I recovered my phone from mango beta backup and installed Mango Final again. After installation of HTC update my phone started with RED-GREEN-BLUE_WHITE screen. Then I did some sequence of actions which I don't remember (I tried to install a new bootloader, other firmwares). As result, the bootloader was erased.
In an unauthorized service center the bootloader was recovered, but they could not install mango or NoDo on it. After 11% of an installtion process the phone rebooted and the bootloader was erased. I faced with this situation too, when I tried to install firmware.
By now I have the phone with bootloader but with no OS.
Could you help me and tell what to do?

well, your Bootloader is 3.x, have you tried flashing XSPL?

Should I install it?
I think I tried, but I don't remember exactly. I tried to install some bootloader a month ago before I sent the phone to the service center. Maybe it was XSPL. I guess my fault was that I didn't downgrade my firmware to NoDO, before install mango final or load XSPL

i would try flashing RSPL and see if that works.

But there is the problem. I have only one chance to flash the phone. Otherwise the bootloader will be erased.
I want to try flashing RSPL but I doubt.
Maybe these two links could add clarity. Some people had similar problems.

SHould I flash only RSPL or RSPL and firmware?

I flashed RSPL succesfully two hours ago, but when I tried to install firmware (HTC HD7 NextGen+) the process was halted at 8% (ERROR 226). And this happens again and again

RSPL then flash a stock Shipped ROM, that way a 'permanent' SPL is installed?
or HSPL after RSPL, so that a 'permanent' SPL is installed?

have you tried flashing a Shipped ROM?
RUU_Signed.nbh will replace SPL, so, i would suggest TMOUS NoDo.
perhaps that will rebrand your HD7?
TMOUS HD7's DEV id is PD291000.
you current DEV id is PD29****.

PD29**** - this id appeared after service center manipulations.
I am downloading NoDO and going to try to install it
With task 29 I've recently installed intrinsic ROM but phone starts with modified start logo, seven vibro-signals.

No. NoDo installation was unsuccessful. error 226 at 9%. Then vibro-signals and power-off. Then Red-Green_blue screen with SPL again.

hmm, well...
ERROR [226] : FILE WRITE
This could indicate that the downloaded image (.nbh file) is corrupt, re-download the image.

Hey
at the moment i have hd7 with official mango but i'd like to have mango interop-unlock ? I would need a complete tutorial . Does anyone know a good and easy tut?

what is about RSPL / HSPL?
I think that the links you posted are for the ones who have NoDo or below but I already have the mango final
easiest way to 'jailbreak' your WP7 device is with a Custom ROM.
check out the tutorial in my signature.
i already tried it but when I get to the step where I have to use task 00 I get an error..
but an another question is whether it is possible to flash original nodo over original Mango and if yes how do I do that?
I had Official Mango too. Used the same signature links last week and everything works. Win7 x64, HTC HD7

yes, it is possible to flash a pre-Mango Shipped ROM specific to your device, but only if your OSPL isn't 5.x

Well thank you for your reply!
I am absolutely confused!
I just want to upgrade to your's intrinsic 4.0.1 T-Mobile US edition.
So... following the instructions under your signature, first i am trying to downgrade to a different radio with HD7_RUUWrapper_00 (Ex. 1.20.531.01 or 1.54.531.02 or 3.01.531.02) but the bar on my phone stucks at 0.00% and then i have the error 262. tried different pcs and different radios.
Is it necessary to change the radio before doing that upgrade?
And is it possible to make that update via zune? (i mean to copy your's intrinsic 4.0.1 T-Mobile US edition files at some specific zune's folder and complete then the procedure some-how?
Thank you once again!

if you have Bootloader 1.54, you don't need to downgrade OSPL first with SPL_Signed.nbh
though, you'll need to XSPL before you can flash a Custom ROM or Unsigned Radios.
i do not believe it is possible to do that via Zune.
You bring up the configuration of your phone

Downgrade SPL 5.X (NO_DO Zune No_Do Restore or any Restore below 7720 Needed)

Verified on HTC HD7 3 Times (Does not Work for Half Bricked Devices)
Prerequisite: Zune No_Do Restore or any Restore below 7720 .
STEPS:
=====
1) Restore to No_Do restore point via Zune. (Won't downgrade SPL 5.X)
2) Connect phone to Zune and Updates 7.0.7392.0 and 7.0.7403 will be installed on ur phone.
3) The third update will be mango update, install it and once done SPL will be Changed to 4.X
NOTE:
After Mango update, while phone reboots, it will reboot twice, one for downgrading SPL and another to load Mango on ur phone.
DETAILED EXPLANATION (It is not Rocket Science)
====================
1) When you upgrade to MANGO (7720), SPL changes to 4.X followed by the HTC Update that changes SPL to 5.X
2) Restoring to NO DO or any other update (7392, 7403) does not change SPL 5.X, but the fact Remains that you have a Phone that can be upgraded via Zune.
3) Conscidering that we retored to No Do via Zune and SPL still being 5.X, We start upgrading and we get Update 7392 and 7403.
4) Next update is Mango (7720) [Zune does not change SPL but the Update installation does, especiallt 7720 and HTC Firmware update].
5) Since Zune is not supported to check or Downgrade the SPL, when the Mango Update happens on the phone with SPL 5.X, The update changes SPL to 4.X "Phone reboots twice after the update is applied one for changing SPl and other for loading Mango".
6) Next come HTC Firmware Update, if u apply tht too, u again endup with SPL 5.X, so u have to Stop after Mango Update and Then you can follow the below thread to flash Custom or Branded roms.

I think it will success
Wait me
if we don't have a no-do restore point, there is no way of getting it back?
sorry to ask such a dumb question.. but how do I know what is my SPL version?? and how do I downgrade to No_Do?
My bootloader version is 4.5.2250.0 .. but still Im unable to flash with a new ROM, as the task 00 fails on my HTC HD7 T9292, I have a windows 7 64 bit OS. It shows RUU is incompatible with my device,
I followed all the steps on the given thread, but the flash was unsuccessful, couldn't downgrade OSPL, or install RSPL or HSPL(that is required to get a new ROM rite??)..

You have half Bricked your device.

New firmware Update changes SPL to 5.X (Verified on HTC HD7 3 times)
Solution (Steps)
=============
1) Restore via Zune to earlier Restore point "No do", but will not change SPL below 5.X
2) Go through update process Via zune, u will get updates "7.0.7392.0" , "7.0.7403" and the last one will be Mango Update which will follow the Firmware update (that changes the SPL to 5.X)
3) Stop after Mango update is Finished SPL will be 4.X
4) Follow the thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1295068)

No worries, I am glad you posted what you did... hopefully others won't do what I did. I was not to worried about it till tonight. I re-did my contract and no longer have an unlimited plan. Now the deal works like this a 512 data plan, a 2GB, a 5GB plan, a 10GB plan.. it's now cheaper to go with Sprint from what I can tell. I like my Radar... better camera, faster storage, faster data, better battery life, but the data plan sucks.. give me 4G (Even though it is fake 4G) then charge me to actually enjoy it! WTF!!!!!!!!!!

So you have the Revolutionary HBOOT 6.13 installed, correct? That is what is preventing the OTA from installing correctly. You need to reinstall CLockworkMod recovery and restore your backup or install a rooted Rom.

My bootloader is locked. I have adb, and htc drivers, my phone is covered by warranty(but if it is possible, I don't want to use it, because in Hungary I have to pay the post fees, and it takes "a lot of time" to get the phone back).
I was working while my phone was updating, and did not watch the full time my phone, but have not noticed any errors.
My phone was NOT rooted, it has S-ON, and I used official rom, as I said before. And unfortunatelly I do not have any recovery images.

OK, so if you have modded the stock ROM by removing HTC applications and Sense, then that is why the OTA update failed.
To accept and install the OTA you must have all the stock components in place, HBOOT, recovery and all the apps.
Download the stock ice ruu exe from the thread listing in the dev section.
Make a goldcard and then install.
Remember this method I think will work with a compleatly stock phone meaning s-on locked bootloader, no root and no custom recovery. Do this at your own risk. I have a inc s with cid 38, It worked for me.

i have checked your suggested rom but it seems not to work with my S ON hboot version
would it help if i do the following?:
restore all the stock application from titanium backup
and then try to accept the OTA update?
or as naathaanb96 suggested to simply unroot, lock bootloader?
i have tried to unroot using htc tool V3 with no luck: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1343114
thanks

Download the stock ice ruu exe from the thread listing in the dev section.
Make a goldcard and then install.
Remember this method I think will work with a compleatly stock phone meaning s-on locked bootloader, no root and no custom recovery. Do this at your own risk. I have a inc s with cid 38, It worked for me.

As the previous poster suggested, just relock the bootloader and then run the official ICS RUU using a goldcard.
Then since you have unlocked your bootloader before, you can simply use the same unlock_code.bin to unlock the ICS bootloader and then you can add a custom recovery and root the system.

[Q] Stuck on black screen after updating

So the other day I got the update for 4.25.654.14 but found out I couldn't update without relocking my bootloader and reinstalling the stock recovery since I'm S-On. Today I got to reinstalling stock recovery but I forgot to relock the bootloader before installing the update and now I'm stuck on a black screen after the initial HTC splash screen. I was able to get back into bootloader and relock the bootloader, but that didn't do anything. Anyone know how to fix this?
Try ruu

Are you able to get to bootloader?
yep.
alright, so i've had some luck. i tried installing a new rom on it and got it working again which is cool. now, can i use an ruu while running that or should i just wait from them to update it?

The RUU contains the whole software(including firmware and ROM) so it should work, but it MAY wipe the whole SD (most of the time it does), so backup everything on a computer. You will need the proper RUU file and a re-locked bootloader ONLY if S-ON.

You can run a RUU but doing so will wipe your internal storage so make sure you back it up to your computer first. Also, if S-on you will need to re-lock your bootloader using the command fastboot oem lock prior to running the RUU.
