I just got the LG revolution. I did an OTA update and have GB 2.3.4. How do I root? I downloaded the OneCLick and it said click on run.bat. But I can not find run.bat in the zip. Please help someone.
Click on root.bat. Did you get the all in one package?
Sent from my VS910 4G using xda premium
Yes. I clicked on root and a box popped up. It said extract or run. whats next? I am very green with this but want to learn. Thank you for assisting.
now it says daemon started successfully with a blinking _ below it. Do I just wait? Am I doing this right?

Exactly, and USB debugging is enabled.

Ok, I enabled debugging. That was holding it up. now its "pushing exploit binary"
now I have a protocol failure and everything after that says not found. I have done something wrong but not sure.

Did you unzip the all in one package? Or just open it?
Sent from my VS910 4G using xda premium
I thought I unzipped it. I clicked on extract all
Did you go to the extracted files or did you still run the .bat inside the zip?
Sent from my VS910 4G using xda premium
A picture of the output you're getting in the root.bat window would probably be helpful here. Unless the not extracting thang is the problem.
I'm not sure right now. I'm at work. Will try again tonight.

Are you letting the process finish completely, I mean it does take a few minutes to complete? Also I remember a few errors, but it still rooted successfully

2 unzip the folder
3 open all in one package unzipped folder
4 open drivers folder
5 double click driver exe file and let run
6 go back to the all in one folder
7 make sure USB debugging is enabled on phone in settings-applications-development
8 connect phone
9 in pull down select internet connection as USB type
10 double click root.bat
11 profit

If it took, you should have superuser in your apps drawer.
You can download titanium back up if you are unsure, it needs root to run, and will ask for permission to do so.
Otherwise you can get root checker basic.
After that, if you wish to get rid of all the phone companies goodies, feel free to look in the development section, there are a couple roms. I like Gingervolt. I do believe you start with gingervolt 1.0 and then 1.1, then 1.2 then 1.3 with out removing anything from the previous builds. I know some glitches have been reported in the later versions, but MT is always around to help and we are always here to answer questions.

Please help!!! My charger port broke and I need to unroot to take it to Cellular South to see if they can fix it. I am running CM 6.1 and I rooted with Z4root. I saved it on my phone with Titanium Backup. When I click on it all it says is root. Well i figured if I try to reroot it, it will recognize that I am already rooted and then give me the option to unroot but all it does is reboots and reinstalls the current ROM. When I go back to Z4root it says the same thing, root. I also was going to get the original RUU from Cell South but I can't hook my phone up to the computer to finish the process cause of my charger port is broken. Please help me!!! If I failed to give you all the info you need, let me know and I will give you the missing info. Thanks in advance!!!
have your tried running the ruu through adb using adb wireless?
How do you do that?
I downloaded the RUU from Cell South and tried to install it from recovery mode but it just went back to the current ROM again.
there is a progam called adb wireless.... havent done any of this myself but i would guess its the same as running the ruu in adb connected through usb.
check here for ruu commands in adb

You don't run an RUU from recovery, or from the phone at all.
Do you have fast boot working??? If so there's a zip you can flash from h boot to return to stock.

Isn't fast boot where I press and hold power button and volume up? If so then yes it works but not sure how to use it. The only thing I use it for is when is says (menu) Recovery. I use it to send me to recovery mode sometimes.

What is this androidsdk I keep hearing about? I actually got help rooting with the good folks from phandroid forums. Maybe y'all use this androidsdk in your rooting method and Phandroid does not and I'm missing that and that us why I can't figure out what y'all are talking about. Just thinking...
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
Give me a sec to boot up I'll post you some links on how to get the android sdk. Adb wireless wont work without it. I've never used that app so not sure on how it works. And fast boot is when you have s-off. When you hold your volume down and power before you hit the button for recovery it will say in the top left hand corner or right, if you have s-off or s-on. To use fast boot you have to have s-off.

I just checked and it says S-on.

It also charges slow as crap, like really slow. The phone on Verizons end is seen as a non verizon device for some reason. Called lg and they said I need to send it in and they will fix it for 40 to 100 dollars. Anyone have any idea how to get it out of test mode. Please help.

Try powering it off, press and hold volume up (not down like recovery), press and hold the power button. Continue to hold both and hopefully it will enter download mode. Once there make sure you have proper drivers installed, and try to push zv7 with lgnspt.

Thanks for getting me in the right area guys. Sorry, wasn't trying to cause any problems.
I have tried the one click version with mt and it never took. Mt even tried doing it for me. I have enabled debugging and dollars each step to the last detail.
I have also tried superoneclick with no success on the install. I'm unaware of how to do it manually.
Thanks

What method of root did you use? And check your app drawer for revo tool kit then you need to download the clockwork mod recovery check what recovery you have if it isn't the 4.0.0.2-pr1 then you need to click on to install that if it didn't go through the first time keep trying but do not reboot after it says it successfully installed hit the menu soft key And reboot in to recovery once you are in there make a back up by going to the backup And restore part And choose back up after you should wipe your data by going to format system INSIDE CLOCKWORK MOD RECOVERY not from inside your phone settings for gingervolt you need to put the zip on your external sd card so that means not the one that says internal place it on the root ( main portion) not in folder then reboot into recovery (if you had to boot to put ginger volt on your sd) the same way as before then go to install zip from sd card choose the gingervolt zip nitty the install update.zip option select yes let it install then reboot.. Also in clockwork recovery you use to volume keys to navigate up And down And the power button to select

If you rooted with mts all in one click that has cwm sticking just go into it manually. I always download everything to the phone directly makes it easier for me.
How do I get into clockwork mod? I installed and hit recovery. Whenever I hit the menu key, the more option is not there. I'm so confused

Best way to check you have cwm download revotool kit and check that way. If it says you have it then you can reboot from revo toolkit.

just a suggestion for people trying to upgrade to update 8 i was successful in keeping Root from 7 just by using Superoneclick
this was my process
install stock rooted v7(skip if stock) http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1348637
make sure your in usb debuging mode and plug into computer (win7 64 bit is ok) then select internet connection mode
Run lg1click/install drivers and option 5 http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1348557
reboot and go to settings/aboutphone/softwareupdate/checknow and update phone
When finished rebooting run super 1 click and click root http://shortfuse.org/?page_id=2
when finished with that open Titanium backup or install trial from market when opened it prompts to fix SU access just tell it ok and reboot
