[Q] hlep my sprint galaxy tab

I have a sprint galaxy tab Model SPH-P100
Because P1000 firmware upgrade with Odin3 v1.7
Firmware does not boot but can into Brush model
Now wants to sprint the original firmware
Brush back to the original firmware
But I can not find the original firmware
Please help me Thank you very much

You are broke. There isn't a Sprint modem available to get you back to stock or functional on the CDMA network.
Best you can do is return it or reflash with an Odin-based firmware from the European packages available. This will get you up and running, but you won't have Sprint data access, only WiFi.

The reason I was so sure about your problem is that I had the same problem myself.
I ran a 'Rotobackup,' which worked for everything but the modem.bin file. I was able to flash the stock setup back on the Tab, but it would fail when the Odin package I created got to the modem. It would fail and I could no longer boot or get to recovery or the normal downloading screen. It would just show a phone and a PC graphic.
It would, however, show up in Odin. No ADB tho
Anyhoo, I was about to head back to my local Sprint store to do an exchange but decided to try a modem.bin file from the Epic 4G.
Worked in Odin and I'm back up and on the Sprint network.
Now, this modem is NOT made specifically for the Sprint Tab. I JUST did this to my device and have not tested it extensively.
If you are broken, you can try to flash this modem, but ONLY DO IT IF YOU HAVE NO OTHER OPTION.

How would we flash this to restore a Sprint Tab?

I think this thread belongs in General QA, but...
I don't think that has the modem, which is why you can't boot.

yikes. its bricked until you can flash it with some firmware. its not available yet... and there's nothing you can do in the meantime.

There is a way. I am back up after I took that picture.
I have a Rotobackup package that works, but only with the Epic 4G modem.
I ran the DD commands with all my apps and settings, so I don't want to upload the package just yet (you can't have my emails ). It is also a bad idea to release a package with a untested modem.
We will have a flashable Sprint image if somebody can figure out how to properly export the stock modem.bin file.

my tab is bricked too.. i deleted the stock tw launcher and wiped.. so now i dont have a launcher when it boots up and theres no way to turn on usb debugging. i need that flashable .tar

You should be able to side-load a new launcher from recovery. Search for a LauncherPro APK and install it via ADB.

I cant use ADB because usb debugging is not enabled and i cant get into settings. I have the stock recovery installed and dont have the update.zip keys to use it. So yeah I'm screwed until I can odin restore :/
Like I said on the other posts, the modem on the epic and galaxy tab are identical, so it should work! Can't wait for this, thank you.

[Q] Cant update to Nexus one Android 2.3.4

Hey guys,
I bought a Nexus one few weeks ago.
When I switch on it and connected to my wifi, it automatically updated to Gingerbread 2.3.3
But still i cant update it to 2.3.4
I went to settings>about phone> system updates but update is not available.
I tried manually updating using the zip file downloaded from google, but it says file verification error.
I also tried forced checking using *#*#checkin#*#* but no luck
As I heard 2.3.4 update was released on May.
So How can I update to 2.3.4?
Phone's Android build number is 3.02.1010.4 CL492.8

That is not a stock Android build number. Is it a Vodafone or Videotron device? If so, you will not be able to get (OTA or manual install) the latest version until your carrier releases it. If you want the latest releases, you need to flash a stock ROM...

Did you root it and change any system files? If so, then you will not get future OTA updates. The file verification error sounds like you did change or delete some system files. If you did the update will fail. To install an OTA update (even from sd card) the phone must be stock with no changes to any files that came with the stock rom.

Rooting has NO impact on being able to receive or install OTA updates...

No It's not from Vodafone or other carrier. I bought it from Korea through ebay. It says it's an unlocked phone.

That is not a stock Android ROM. It looks like there is some sort of Sense ROM running on it.
A stock build should look something like the attachment.

Phone doesnt have any sence UI. But as you said it may have a carrier specific ROM.

If you want to get stock 2.3.4 then, yes, you need to flash a stock ROM. You will lose all your data, so make sure you back up as much as you can. The easiest way to flash a completely stock ROM is to download the zip file from this post, rename it to PASSIMG.zip, and place it in the root of your sdcard. Then boot into the bootloader, and it will recognize the file. After verifying it, it will ask if you want to flash it. Or you could unlock your bootloader, and flash all the images in the zip file using fastboot on your computer.

I'll try the first method you said.

Finally I did it guys!
First I downloaded FRG83 and tried flashing but it didnt work.
It said "CID incorrect"
Then I tried flashing with FRG33 it also didnt work.
Then I tried downloading images form HTC. Didnt work either
Then I found out that issue is with the memory card.
I turned my other memory card into a gold card and tried flashing with FRG83.
Voila! I worked!
Then I updated to 2.3.4

Since you didn't use the link I posted for you, you are not upgraded to the latest radio that came with the latest Gingerbread ROM. (Compare your baseband version with mine.) You can flash it manually if you want (assuming you either have root or an unlocked bootloader).

I was not sure whether it is compatible with my phone because it's has a SLCD.
Later I found that the ROM you gave me, is a newer one.
I havent rooted the phone yet.
I feel lack of wifi signal after flashing. Now I think it's because of this baseband version.[not sure]

Is there any other significant different that you feel between these two baseband versions?
Still I havent planned to root because it'll void the warranty.
Then I'll flash again with the ROM you gave.

Rooting your device does not void the warranty, as it is easily undoable, with no trace. (Note, however, that you cannot root 2.3.4 with a locked bootloader, so you will need to downgrade to an older version, root, then update using OTA, but being careful not to lose root. There are many guides on how to do this.)
Unlocking the bootloader technically does void the warranty, however, it has been reported numerous times in these forums that HTC still honours the warranty even if the bootloader is unlocked.
The difference in the radio affects each user differently, as there are too many variable to compare.

If you want root you can use a custom kernel that includes root.

Enter in download mode (volume down + power button when the tab if off)
Flash it using odin v1.7, the tar file goes on PDA.
Repartition unchecked, no pit file.
After this the tab will take several minutes to boot, don't worry this is a normal procedure.
After this you will have a EXT4 file system and rootes tab.
If you want the lastest overcome rom:
Warning: this will wipe your data, make a backup of your data and apps with titanium backup.
After you flash the kernel.

Download the file above, copy it to the internal sd of the tab
Then go to the recovery mode (volume up + power button when the tab is off)
Go to Installation menu the select flash zip from internal sd card, and select the zip that you downloaded. Wait until the installation is complete.

Anyway, there's rooting using z4root or superoneclick, and then now that I read rafaeker19 post I could use a custom kernel. What I want to ask is that what is the safets way to root the SGT P1000 and make it unrootable?

You don't have to flash to root, but you can if you want too. If you flash a rom like overcomes it will automatically come rooted. But you can, if you want to just stay on stock Android, flash a cf-root kernel with Odin, or use super one click wish is nice and easy .

Okay i have read the rooting method of Zergrush, this is will be my last question for root. If (just incase if it did really happen), If I root the P1000 then one day I decide to unroot it and things gone wrong aka system damaged, I could flash it and get it back to original, correct?

flash a stockfirmware via odin and it will be just like when u bought it. thats one of many ways to unroot it. <thats what i do all along...> there is a program somewherehere that downloads lates firmware for devices name is somehing like "fus updater " or anything similar to it, try and search it

Dear all,
Please help me, I've been trying to root my Samsung Galaxy Tab but been unable so far, here are my device details:
Model: GT-P1000L
Firmware: 2.3.6
Baseband version: P1000LUMJI1
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7
Compilation: GINGERBREAD.UMJR2
I've tried so far with the follosing:
Super One Click runs until step 7, it gets frozen and won't respond even after 25 minutes, retried this process more than 10 times.
DooMLorD runs but on every step it states that the route was not foud, retried this process around 5 times.
z4root runs and wether I select temporary or permanent root it will just start processing and suddenly app will close itself, retried this process around 5 times.
I have read a lot of threads about using ODIN to flash custom firmware, but I've also found a lot of replies where process was unsuccesfull and tab wouldn't turn back on. Because of this I'm reluctant to try it, at least for the moment, since I'm so noob I will have a real hard time flashing back to stock firmware.
Thank you all in advanced for the time you will take reading even if you don't have the answer.

Guys, please help me out with this, I've tried several times to root this tab so I can install CWM and then be able to test CM10.
I might even try the ODIN installation, just please tell me if there is any Noob Guide for Odin the same way it's there for P1000 rooting (wich doesn't work for me).
Or if any good samaritan is willing to guide me step by step so I don't mess up with it.

I've succesfully rooted my SGT7 P1000L with firmware 2.3.6, not as simple as using Super One Click, but not hard either.
The steps I followed are the next ones, they should work as well on P1000 and P1000N with firmware 2.3.6:
Downgrade to stock firmware 2.3.3 using Odin
Root device using Super One Click
Flash CWM Recovery through Heimdall
Indeed, so simple to do and your device is ready to flash custom roms.
For the very very noobs (like me) I found a couple of videos that guide you step by step on how to root and install CWM Recovery the way I listed previously, as a matter of fact those are the videos I followed.
This is a 100% secure if you don't mess with the other options, please be aware I take no responsibility of any damage your device suffers.

I have no difference with two modems...but i like to be updated to the latest version.

I tested the ROM and it worked fine without problems.
now i remove some bloatware.

If you want to flash a new modem, then you could use Odin for Windows. Google will be helpful for more information and you might want to also check out this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=927568

hey guys im coming from the sprint lg optimus g and today i bought an sprint s4 for 200 bucks. its rooted on no wiz rom i belive ( 4.2.2 ) and i keep getting the 4.3 message. so what i would like to now is can i flash this rom and it will update me to 4.3 with out the knox thing.

I am currently on MJA software, MJA baseband, ktoonsez kernel, MJA build #, but have the MF9 bootloader yet. Can I simply update the ROM and nothing else, maintaining root and all my current settings?

I have seen a lot of Stock ROMs but some of them haven't got Data Toggle in notifications where did this toggle go?

The current version of the rom already has knox removed. I would recommend you backup all your data via Titanium Backup and then do a clean wipe before you install 4.3.

You also also need to update the modem in order for wifi to work. The bootloader should not be affected by updating the rom or the modem.

Samsung decided to remove the data toggle in the new updates. I miss that feature too..

I don't know - I didn't chance it. I did a nandroid backup, backed up my Nova settings, backed up my SMS messages...basically backed up all the configs I could to my SD card.
Then I used Philz recovery - did a "wipe to install a new ROM", wiped Dalvik cache, wiped everything else again just for good measure.
Then I installed the software update via Philz, and rebooted into download/flash mode (there's an option in Philz to do that).
Then flash the MK2 modem using Odin - uncheck reset clock and auto reboot. When I got the "PASS" I did a battery pull and booted the phone.
When the phone came back up, did the initial setup (skip setting up gmail and other accounts until after you've disabled auto update and auto download apps in Play Store), and shut down. Flashed SuperSU 1.86 and booted again. Installed Root Explorer and deleted all the Knox crap (instructions in first post).
Installed TiBu. Disabled/Froze bloat through system or TiBu. Reinstalled all my apps from the appstore and restored settings and SMS from the saves on my SD card.
This update has the stock kernel, but it works and there are no WiFi issues. I was using the KT kernel on MJA, but only because there were WiFi issues - every time I tried to tweak something my phone would go all unstable and wonky so I just left all the tweaker settings alone. This update is already rooted as well, but you will need to re-flash the newest version of SuperSU before it will work (instructions in the link to SuperSU in the first post). As long as you still have custom recovery and MF9 bootloader you won't lose root and if you do, you can regain it pretty easily.
Make sure the modem update takes - I actually ended up doing it twice (first time with autoreboot and reset clock enabled didn't take). If the modem update doesn't work you WILL have WiFi issues until it updates successfully.
MK2 is running MUCH better than MJA. I had all kinds of problems on MJA with iffy performance, sudden crazy battery drain, and hard crashes when getting phone calls. None of that now and everything is running much smoother.

Update 1-1-14: You should be able to use any recovery to flash the rom but be sure to wipe all the pertinent partitions first. Personally, I would recommend the official ClockWorkMod recovery. I have had better experience with this recovery in flashing new roms.

[Q] I9295 - How-to update baseband?

Hi all,
I am on a custom rom (Carbon) and want to update the baseband of my I9295.
I downloaded the latest stock firmware for my region from sammobile.com
However I am unsure how to proceed. If I open the firmware file with 7zip I can see the files modem.bin and NON-HLOS.bin.
How is the correct procedure? I have to flash them over "phone" with Odin? Which settings have to be checked in Odin?
Will it work like this??
Flash modem.bin over phone (only auto reboot and reset time checked)
Reboot
Flash NON-HLOS.bin over phone (only auto reboot and reset time checked)
Reboot
Please help, I don't want to brick the phone.

I was curious about that too. Am also on a custom ROM and wanted to update the modem.
Last week I was using TouchWiz and made the update to the latest available firmware, which also updated the baseband version.
But... I just couldn't find a way to root that newer firmware, which was unacceptable, so I had to flash back to the original one, which also reverted my baseband version to the former one.
Maybe I'm missing something here, but there should be a way to do this.
It would be nice if it were so easy as you propose it, by flashing those 2 bins from the official firmware, but how? Which tab in Odin do you use for that? Are you sure those are the necessary files? Are you willing to risk bricking "for science"?

I tried as described above using the France (XEF) firmware ML3 from sammobile.com.
It didn't brick the phone but my baseband also did not change. After that I just flashed the whole stock firmware (into PDA of course). This caused the phone to bootloop on the Samsung logo. I pushed clockwork recovery via Odin and restored my Nandroid backup. Phone is working again, but the baseband is still the old one.
Has anyone suggestions?

It looks like the modem is an integral part of the firmware. You pushed those files through Odin and it didn't change the baseband version, but it must've overwritten something in there, since after flashing the entire firmware the phone wouldn't boot. Anyway, who knows? When I updated, I didn't bother downloading the firmware on my PC and pushing it to the phone, I just used Kies. As I said, it updated the baseband too, but I couldn't root the thing anymore. You can try that too, maybe you'll manage to root it afterwards.
Looks like you used Odin 3.07, which has the PDA tab, they changed that a bit in 3.09. Any idea what the other tabs do? Maybe I should find some instructions on that.
Anyways, a more qualified person should give us an opinion on this, if it can be done or not.

In principal, after I pushed the whole firmware it should have updated the baseband. I don't understand why it didn't. Perhaps something is wrong with my Odin. After flashing it only showed "RESET" in blue instead of "PASS" in green. However, pushing the custom recovery worked even without the green "PASS".
Additionally, I got the Samsung boot logo after I pushed the firmware. Before I had the Carbon boot logo.
I cannot use Kies as I am on a custom Rom and the phone is not recognized by Kies. Did you try rooting by pushing CWM recovery via Odin? This should work regardless of your baseband (at least on the I9295 because of the unlocked bootloader). I don't think there's anything wrong with your Odin. Just that, before flashing the whole firmware, you should have reset the phone entirely, preferably from the recovery partition (CWM), as you do when flashing custom ROMs. Or probably you didn't wait long enough for Odin to turn green and give you a "PASS". Or maybe, seeing that it didn't work you should have tried flashing again. The first Sammy logo is present on boot regardless of the currently used ROM. The ROM's logo or TouchWiz logo is displayed after the initial Sammy logo.
Obviously, I was able to use Kies because I was on TouchWiz, as I've said before. After updating, I've tried many things in order to get root again. Of course I also pushed CWM. Problem is I got a continuous annoying popup from the ELM agent (part of Knox) crashing, preventing me to install apps and asking for restart. So, the phone was unusable. The rooting methods I used are valid for previous firmwares, they did not work for the updated one, for me at least. I didn't find anyone who has root with newer stock firmware. Or maybe there are ways I didn't try.
Odin 3.07 or 3.09, nevermind the version, what the buttons do - that's what matters.

It installed baseband version I9295XXUAMF7, which KIES confirmed as being the latest available.
Then I've pushed CWM, rooted (although it wasn't necessary anymore) and installed CM11.
And that's that.

Yeah, I had real trouble booting into the newly installed stock TW. The thing would get stuck on the SAMSUNG logo and would stay there forever. I eventually booted (manually) into stock recovery and wiped data/factory reset (as if it wasn't already factory default), wiped cache partition and tried again. It didn't work. I repeated the previous wipes and the f...er booted into TW. I flashed CWM, flashed SuperSU zip via CWM. Knox was behaving really annoying before that. So I had root. But my wifi just didn't work anymore. I checked the new things brought by this firmware, nothing interesting there, I hooked Kies and it confirmed these are the latest PDA, CSC, baseband and then I returned to CM11 and lived happily ever after.

Yeah, man, I've seen that.
I didn't bother with flashing the modem separately anymore, since updating to the KK TouchWiz updated my baseband to UCNE5. But it certainly can be done, I don't know about #allram's way via Odin, you can ask him yourself what to do with the NON-HLOS file.

I used the Dutch TW for KitKat and I had no trouble whatsoever, even if I'm in Romania. The Northern Countries version is also available. I did it just to check out the latest Sammy stock ROM and... nothing interesting there. A day later I switched to #allram's latest CM11.
