As weird as it may sound but help

K I have rogers captivate and wondering what to do so that my notifications and messaging all make the phone vibrate when I receive them cuz right now it only vibrates when I receive a call
Messaging and all other things don't make it vibrate so please tell me step by step procedure tho fix it.

Try settings>sounds>vibrate> set to always

Go into whichever app you want to vibrate (email, sms, gmail, etc.) then go to menu-settings-notifications 0r menu-settings-more and look for notifications.

Yes you can set custom ringtones to specific contacts.
Open Contacts>Pick a contact>Menu>Edit>Scroll to Ringtone>Phone Ringtone>Select ringtone

It wont let me on synched contacts. Only if created on phone then attached to the previous. Also u cant add to groups unless a ph contact is made in similar fashion

In Gmail, go to Menu -> More -> Settings -> Select account under "Account settings" -> Notification settings. Then either disable or set ringtone to none if you want to keep the vibration.

file association

how to reassigned the file association because once you choose particular apk, you cannot reassign the file association and stuck with. i am on paranoid jb

Install root explorer long press the file and choose open with, now there is a checkbox which reads always perform this action check that and you are set...

thanks, it works and another question. on jb, say i have two or three phone dailer ie viber, skype tango and default dailer. if choose say tango as always use dailer which associate with contact, i cannot re choose this anymore, as the dialog will not appear anymore if i choose any default dailer. how to undo this?

go to settings > applications > all.. then choose phone.apk from the list and click on clear defaults

Lost all ring tones

Not sure how it happened but now when I go to settings and sound in appear to have lost all my ring tones
Does anyone know where I can get copies of the original supplied Samsung S3 ring tones from?
