[KERNEL][GPL][23 APR] franco.Kernel | 3.0.8 | r4 - Nexus S Android Development

Hey again everyone.
So after few delays (real life issues, lack of time, working on the Galaxy Nexus...) this kernel is finally coming!
Features:
* /data partition mounted properly
* Conservative tweaked with the same winning values as in the Galaxy Nexus - works marvelously well in my initial testing
* SLQB memory allocator
* Kernel stripped from debug **** and useless options like cgroups, autogroup or swap just to name a few
* TinyRCU as being the obvious choice
* CRC32 lib updated
* Fsync() to oblivion just like I had in the GB kernels
* Init.d support
* Voltage Control
* More **** that can be seen in my source tree
What is not coming:
* Overclock - this crap is fast enough, we don't need overclock. I want to build a stable kernel that actually works. If you want overclock you can move outta here
* Live_oc, deep idle - no need for those, as far as I can see they've been causing more trouble than they are worth. If you want them you have plenty of other options to choose from
* OmfgSUperMegaGovernorThatDoesOver9000SCOREZ - sorry, it won't happen, conservative does the job just like I want it to. Like above, if you want new governors you can choose another kernel
* Most of the other so known mods are not coming either otherwise this will be another kernel just like the other ones. My approach here will be different. Like above, if you like this, good. You don't like it, well theres plenty of other options
What IS coming in future builds:
* Voodoo drivers - they are a must indeed
After flashing this kernel your device doesn't boot? You have three options:
1st -> You'll leave a reply with the name of the rom that you are using and that it didn't boot with this kernel
2nd -> Reply saying "omfg this dun boot, halp me NOW". If this happens I'd rather dance naked for 5 minutes in my garden than take my time to answer your non-helpful post
3rd -> Cry.

Yes Obsanity, it's supposed to work with NS4G, if you havent tried it already.

Try playing with voodoo colors. And if you don't know what voodoo is... Google is a good search engine.

I have downloaded rom manager from the market. I want to know if I could install a custom rom, like cyanogenmod, with out being rooted.

Hey I have rom manager downloaded on my 2.2.1 nexus one. I want to know If I could flash clockworkmod recover, then instal cyanogenmod. When I press clockworkmod it recognized my phone.
Is it safe to do this without rooting your phone. A message did pop up telling me that it can not find superuser, but isn't that just to allow access?
Please help me. I am new to all of this and I just want to root my phone.
If there is an easier way to root my phone please tell me.
I REALLY NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!
ps. I have Lock screen when I boot up

ROM Manager needs SU to flash.
But doesn't just need to allow superuser access. I don't think that it really NEED such for flashing

Nothing will happen, because it won't work.
I think it's pretty ballsy of the OP to come on here, ask for help, and then argue with those offering advice when it is clear by reading both of his threads that he has no clue what he is talking about.

There's lots of files on your phone that you don't have permission to change. You can try flashing all day, but they won't change until you get permission. You get permission by rooting your phone (getting root access)...
Read this, and try to understand as much as possible, then you can ask questions later...

Your phone has to be rooted before you're able to install a Recovery (such as Clockwork mod).

i have a galaxy s i9000 from India .. stock Froyo 2.2 via keis [sucks big time ] . was thinking of rooting and getting it faster and putting cool themes ans **** ... BUT I DONT KNOW HOW TO DO IT !! ... so i really need help ... please please help me . dont want to BRICK my phone . really worke3d my ass off to buy it .. please HELP ME !! Suggest me pls
Well...the best option you've got is to install a custom rom...go to android development section and choose the rom you like....most of the roms have an installation guide so this would be easy peasy....after you do that you phone WILL rock big time!!hope I helped!

Then the last thing you want to do is turn it into a brick and have no warranty so read and understand the FAQs first .

Help me Urgent !!

Lets Start .
I've Installed the newest ROM from cyanogen, It was the JB 4.2 Ones.
It can make a Call , though, It Cant Recieve a Call , What Happen to that .
lot Of my friends said that they have called me . But there was nothing .
i Test It , and call from my other Mobile,
It did Pulse but my Tab was Not reacted anything..
Please , really need all your hepl !!
