clockworkmod recovery always gives an error when i try to restore...?
What error? What version?
Without details nothing can be done.

so..
i have alfs06 and gingerdx22. i didnt install chargemon+volds update, so i cannot install *zip files in XRecovery or CWM 3.2
if i install chargemon+volds update, i will not be able to enter CWM 3.2 or XRecovery
The default kernel recovery is CWM 5.x but the zip file requires CWM 3.x
so how can i install that zip file?
do you guys understand a bit of what i am saying?

Well i have this problem too 1hour ago, iv just put my sd crad to pc and download alfs fix, then when my phone is starting iv start pushing BACK button, after that recovery appears, and just choose install zip from sd card and here you go....
if i install alfs fix, i wont be able to enter CWM 3.2 or XRecovery, only kerne's recovery which is CWM 5.x
but CWM 5.x is not supported by my zip. it needs version 3.x

Are you shure about that you wont be able to install your zip with newer version of recovery, because as far as i know you can always install files for older with newer but you cant do it in reverse...
when i try to install a custom zip in CWM 5.x , i get an error that it is not supported and must try with CWM 3

Well you can try to install xrecovery or another version of cwm with x8toolbox just search forum...
Hi. I have GT-N7000 with rooted Stock Android 4.1.2.
I installed a fresh stock and rooted for testing / attempting to upgrade to 4.4.X and now I have CWM Manager PRO with Touch CWM (I payed for both).
When I get it to boot into CWM, it restarts, shows the green Android logo with that rotating thing inside... but it suddenly shows black screen and the phone is closed. If I turn ON the phone it loads into Android System Recovery 3e.
I have latest
- CWM Manager 5.5.3.7
- CWM 6.0.4.3
Please how can I boot into CWM?

Please guide me, I am completely lost. All methods to install it don't work.

Check the build number of your current rom in settings and then go to philz thread. Search for TW kernels link and find the one that matches your ROM build number. Flash the one either using recovery or odin.

Thanks so much, now I have it working
I am trying to flash cm12 with philZ touch 6 (CWM 6.0.5.1).
But whenever i try to flash any ROM (not only cm12) i just get:

I have tried to use other versions of CWM and bare CWM and now with philZ touch. but i just get the same message.
but for some reason i can flash GAPPS and i do not get this error message...
anyone who has an idea what to do?

well , i had CWM 5 and i used to flash a lot of roms through it , someday i flashed a rom and cwm 5 turned to cwm 4
later i found a kitkat rom and i had to fladh cwm 6 for ace to install it , i flashed the recovery then i couldn't flash any rom with it , i flashed twrp recovery and still can't flash roms
i think E: error executing updater binary or something
please help i want to flash a good rom
Install CWM 5 and try to flash a new ROM to verify if the process works fine.

And now... what's your status? can you boot into recovery?
I have installed resurrection rom without taking a backup the rom booted and worked fine but now I can't install apps or keep saying all not installed and I don't have a backup or PC so can any one of your please upload a light backup
and I can't install another room cuz it says (applyparsedperms: lsetfilecon of /system/lost found to u: object_r: system_file: s0 failed: operation not supported...

i think the recovery you used to flash ROM is outdated/not supported for this ROM,
try installing KK based recovery coming from JB and try clean flashing rom again.

I tried flashing with TWRP 2.6.×(which comes with cocore r24) but no luck the same error and also this one but every recovery just gives the same error

I am extremly sorry for that, even i didn`t knew it won`t work i.e the 6.0.4.8 cwm by alberto97 ,
here try doing this try to format the file system of your phone to ext4
i think you have used f2fs file system which is not supported by recovery.
wait for it to boot .
