Is there a way to backup a windows HTC HD7 T9292, Bootloader version 4.5.2250.0(129185)
I have tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103011, used the v1.9 along with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1262471
but to no avail. I did not select the option for complete backup using 4.7, as I have 4.8
I keep getting an error that Zune is not compatible with Windows Phone tools, though both have the same versions Zune 4.8.2345.0 and Windows Phone development tools 4.8.2345.0, downloaded from the Microsoft site.
I am using a windows 7 professional 64 bit OS.
Please help.. need it urgently.
you could try it, with the custom cab sender from xboxmod
option B (Backup)

Hey guys, in the past i have upgraded from the stock os to what ever the newest on here was at the time.
But some time after vista came out i downloaded a possible offical upgrader from o2s xda website, this heap of crap failed half way through upgrading with no error messages - i assume it was becuase i was running on vista at the time.
So after that, once we turn on the device we just see what i assume is the bootloader, When connected it says "USB v1.06" and if we disconnect it says "Serial" instead of usb.
Some research today provided there are vista drivers to be downloaded, so i installed those (On windows server 2008 x64 R2 beta! which is based on vista rtm) the driver seemed to install fine,
I downloaded "Syed Ather WM 6.1 Dark Edition" and ran HimaUpgradeUt_noID.exe but this errors out before even running with the following:
---------------------------
HimaUpgradeUt_noID.exe - Application Error
---------------------------
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click OK to terminate the application.
So any general direction here on how to get my little device back would be nice thanks guys
it requires .Net Framework 2.0
More Info here : http://support.realtyware.com/article.aspx?id=10015
Funny! Nice of it to give such a useful error message!
Thank you for your input, i will install now
The installer says i already have the framework, so this is strange.
oh, u running Windows Vista , get the latest version of WMDC - Windows Mobile Device Center and idk if the x64 version of the drivers ever worked..but you could alwas try.. i suggest u to to install the rom on a pc with XP
Thanks for the fast responces etc
I got this sorted last night
Welcome back to life little xda
upgrade rom htc hd with Windows 7 64bit creates a problem? can do it without active sync?
edit: does not make me change the title
just copy the .nbh file in your sdcard root and rename it BLACIMG.nbh, turn off the phone and keep pressed vol down + power button, job done, happy flashing.
btw i'm using windows 7 64bit and works fine, you can flash without worries.
What you can try, is to place the HD in tricolor mode, when the device is off, push on the low sound button and keep it press while pushing the power button until you see the tri-color mode.
After that, connect your HD trought USB to your PC. Wait until the PC have load the drivers.
And Run the rom upgrade program "as an administrator".
Normally, it should work.
ALF it works also the old way, just run the RuuWrapper that comes with the rom and it will ask for administrator privileges, press next and update the rom. This method needs active sync.
W7 64 bit and touch HD
I have all my computers with windows 7 64 bit. I have no problem sync the HD, or flash. I have not seen anyone comment about it, so here you go- from trying it, no problems at all. Actully, it works better than it was with XP.

ovviamente non debbo usare il vecchio active sync vero....
course I must not use the old active sync true ....
Thank you all for the clarifications
usually use the USPL but does not work
upgade from the SD don't start remains in bootloader
depend by the SD ....
Please optimize the head of this Thread from "with WM7 x64" to "via Win7 x64". I was really confused cause I wondered if I could find an early WM7 (Windows Mobile 7) in an 64 bit edition in here. Maybe you could change the title to not confuse any more people? WM7 -> Win7!
Thanks,
Future
you know the USPL 2.5 works with Windows Vista?
can someone give a full "step-by-step" to perform the ROM upgrade successfully?
Hi, I referred to this web page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3625567&postcount=272
It does not sound as easy as this topic. I tried to upgrade the driver, wceusbsh.sys, Windows does not allow it (said does not match the manufacturer), and the steps given do not work at all. What other software is needed? Please provide link to get them.
I am trying to upgrade from WM6.1 to TOUCH_HD_WWE_21882_231109 (Duly maryone). Thanks for helping. I am using Windows 7 64-bits.
There aren't problems with Windows 7 64-bit and rom flashes. Also, your thread has absolutely nothing to do with Windows Phone 7 so please correct the erroneous subject.

are you sure you understand the issue?
Win7 driver for HTC USB is NOT compatible with those RUU Loader.
And you need to restore the XP one which DOES NOT have digital signature.
Win7 users need to press F8 before booting windows and choose disable signature check (something like that) option. And you will be able to install the unsigned driver for flashing.
So, please correct your erroneous statement.

Hey guys,
is it possible to get Windows 7 working on the Shift by using a Win7 Update, rather than a full Win7 version on CDROM?
I have a Win7 Professional Update for XP or Vista through my employer that I would like to use on my Shift, especially because I woudn't need a USB DVD. I can't find anything about whether this process will work just like the other options in the guides here, or that it is best not to use this on the Shift.
Anyone have any experience with this that can help me feel a bit more safe in using the Update?
thanks,
HB

Don't worry about MOD EDITmessing up your shift, you can always use the recovery keys (fn+f3) that can fix ur shift to factory default... with Business Vista in it... regarding an upgrade. well I did manage to upgrade but the trick is you have to download from microsoft an additional upgrade (vista service pack 1) before you can upgrade to windows 7. But brother believe me your shift will be much faster if you install windows 7 in a clean installation... there are threads here that can help you install windows 7 in your shift...
hey guys, ive been searching for a few days for this, but neither here on this forum nor on any other i was able to find the solution. My problem ist that the Windows phone device manager is not launching. Yes i have the new .Net framework even reinstalled it a few times, also the SDK. My phone is unlocked, i installed the new custom rom by ansar on my hd7. Please help me, i got angry with my phone LOL
The user guide could help you easily. The synchronization is made only with zune
no "Windows phone device manager" with WP7
oh i noticed that zune update pops up when i want to launch wpdm ?!? big LOL
Hey...does it mean that there is no WPDM for HTC HD7???
WPDM does work on the HD7.
@OP: Did you install the Mango Beta tools on your PC & Mango Beta Zune client? I had this problem too. I'd launch WPDM & it'd just close on it own. After uninstalling the beta software from my PC & re-installing the official release (non Mango) software, it works again.
Hi...
i have installed Zune 4.7 & windows phone developer tools on my machine... but still unable to launch windows phone device manager
the moment i click on wp device manager exe file...it appear under Processes in Task manager for few seconds and then disappear ... i have tried reinstalling device manager etc but no luck...pls advise...

Hi, Always latest version of Windows Phone Device Manager and other softwares.
Hello,my htc hd7cant upgrade,any solution,d gurud
Sent from my HD7 T9292 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Let me preface this by saying in the first few days of owning my WP7 phone, I've Seen a lot of howto threads, but almost none on this, esp. for the HD7.
So here's what I'm trying to do, in this order(To my US, T-Mobile HD7):
1)Install "RUU_Schubert_HTC_Europe_1.69.401.01_Radio_5.54.09. 21_22.33b.50.10_NoDo_custom_by_ansar"
2)Chevron Unlock
3)Upgrade to Mango - 7720
So, in this situation, I'm stuck at step 1. BTW, I'm Using a Macbook pro Running 10.6.8, *running parallels 6/Windows 7*
What I've Done So Far...
1. Put HSPL 3.1 on my HD7
2. Downloaded All Rom Files and Mango Update Files
3. Downloaded & Installed Zune, WMDC, HSPL exe's.
4. Downloaded & Installed WP7 SDK
My Problem
I put the phone into bootloader mode, connect it to windows, everything recognizes and drivers installed the first time, RUU goes through, DOES NOT READ ANY CURRENT ROM INFO, and gives me ERROR 266 (screencap)
So... What do?
PS: I've done a lot of searching, please don't be a smartass and read and then tell me to lurk moar. I do NOT have a windows PC right now, and since my CD drive is broken, I dont really have a way to bootcamp either...
You may get the 266 error if you are running a virtual environment. I see you are using a Macintosh. You will may not be able to proceed with the update with this method.
