[ANSWER] - ROM OVERCOME 4 "Your device is not compatible...." - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have had the problem in question with some app from the market (Route66, Virtual city and more) and i have solved with a reinstall a wipe version of the ROM.
I think that the problem is that i have installed LCD Resolution (root) app and i have changed dpi from 240 to 190. Still when i set back DPI to 240 the problem is not gone away.
I have tried to answer in DEV discussion but I'm noob and i couldn't.
I hope that this may help someone to find the real problem.
Bye
p.s.
sorry for my english

Hulu?

I'm running a custom ROM on my LG Revolution and i cant install Hulu on it via the market, even though it is apparently released for the Revolution.
1) has anyone installed on their non-stock Revo?
2) anything i can do to fix? does hulu install only on the stock OS?
Thanks in advance,
RMT.
I read in another post that changing the LCD density can cause the market to see your phone as incompatible??? Did you change yours? I was going to test this but i couldn't even find hulu in the market
Edit: just tested this with Netflix and Hanging with Friends. I had my density set to 200 and the market said both were incompatible. Changed the density back to 240 and both installed just fine

Dead Space - Possible to run on P970?

Ever since I got my rooted v20n working, I've been trying to get Dead Space to run.
I've tried using Chainfire3D with each of the 3 drives but I wasn't successful...
The best I've gotten was to the EA loading screen, and then the app crashes!
Any tips or suggestions that might work? Maybe overclocking the device or using an app to fix an issue? (because I have no idea why the game crashes)

Which version of Dead Space works on the P970??
it worked to me without chainfire 3d. Install, download additional file and play
latest version is actually 1.35. they added power vr support in this version.
it works on cm7 without cf. 1.31 wasn't working.
it's available on market.

I don't know about a permanent fix, but a work-around could be changing the dpi to 160 (or whatever), getting the apps you want and then going back to 132.
Good luck.
ps: there's probably a build.prop change out there........search.

[APP/GUIDE] Per app dpi control for most ROMs using Xposed

I Just thought of posting this where more people could see and use it
How to change dpi of individual apps on almost ANY ROM:
Tested and working on:
Stock ICS ROM (tested on Optithrust, should work on other ICS ROMs like Django, Flexicer etc. too)
CM10 (tested on pengus77's ROM. should work on other cm10/cm10.1 roms too)
Tested and not working on(yet):
MIUIv4
When I tried Jishnu's optithrust (Stock ICS ROM), it worked for changing density of root explorer and nova launcher app. (Take a backup first if you need to)
It is simple.
All steps are easy to do, and 4 out of 5 steps need to be done only once. After that, you can easily change the dpi of any app.
1. Download and install the file(apk) attached here.
(It is an ingenious framework mod developed by rovo89. All credit to him)
2. Open the app and click on "Install/Update" button. Then reboot.
3. Download and install this: http://d-h.st/OTS like a regular app.
Full credit to Tungstwenty and rovo for this great app.
this is the original download link, but it doesn't work at the moment. Rename file extension from zip to apk if you have downloaded from here
(ill remove the mirror as soon as i get come to know that the original one is working again)
4. Now a notification comes in notification bar, open the first app (Xposed Installer) by pressing that notification and in "modules" tab, tick the Xposed App settings (should be the only option) box.
Reboot.
Above steps 1 to 4 need to be done only for the first time
5. Now after rebooting, open "xposed app settings" (2nd app) and select any app from the list, enable its toggle above (there's only one button, you cant miss it ), and set its dpi to whatever you want and save. For best experience, keep the value of dpi between 160 and 240.
Remember, as always, some apps may look weird on low dpi. They were not designed for a lower dpi. For example, when I tried on stock lg launcher, it looks weird, because it is natively designed for 240 dpi, but nova launcher, trebuchet and most other apps should look proper
Thanks to the rovo89 and xposed app settings developer Tungstwenty.
Cheers

Normal dpi is 240, so if you set it to that, things are back to how they were
Damn that's EPIC!
Take my thanks... Take it!!
Btw i want to change the dpi of the status/notification bar on top... SystemUI will do it right?
Oh and tested 100% working on SU660 (Korean) on FlexIcer 4.7

Hi Rugglez....
Is there any method in Xposed to set Overall DPI meaning for UI as well as apps.... I tried to reduce the DPI of "Android System" but the keyboard here gets crazy (Key will be shown at one place but u will have to press it at another place in order to type it ).... I searched and found one "Tablet UI" module but it also doesn't work .....
Thanks

Don't change dpi of android system
As far as I know, in this app, you can change dpi only one by one. For changing dpi of everything, you can set the value in build.prop but dont try that since it messes up app compatibility in play store. But by changing dpi once for required apps like systemUI, launcher, settings etc. you can get a similar experience overall.
Update: @owais40 I think the tablet module existed in the older version, can't find it now. If you are on the older version, try updating to the newest one, link updated in OP a few hours ago. Even the settings app has been updated on that site.
When I changed the screen dp setting for Gmail app to 600x1024, the hybrid (tablet) mode got activated. So you can try that out with apps that you think may have hybrid mode support
Settings app doesn't show split ui though, maybe our device cm version doesn't support.
I have updated both framework and settings apps but the Tablet UI Module doesn't work with that ... Didn't try though for older versions ... So currently I use build.prop method to set my overall DPI and this http://www.villainrom.co.uk/forum/microdownloads/all-apps-in-play-store.15/viewfile Module to fool the Play Store.... Thanks for all your help ....

Nice!
Xposed is really a handy framework that lets you do so much with innovative modules like these. It deserves much more attention than what it has currently got. Kudos to the developer rovo89
You can also do this:
Set overall dpi in build.prop and in this per-app-dpi settings module you can set play store dpi to 240 (and of course, adjust dpi of any other app specifically too if desired). Expecting that to work too. That way, complete control can be obtained

I don't think that it would work as otherwise rovo89 would not have developed "All apps in play store" module...
Hello.
Can't download the second app. Try to register to the page but says my email it's in a spam list or something like that. So I don't see any link to download.

Maybe rovo would prefer if people edit in the gui of an app rather than make changes in build.prop every time the rom is flashed, and maybe avoid errors people might make in the syntax there too. (although i guess the framework install button may have to be pressed on updating the rom too anyway )

I ran into the same issue yesterday trying to register. Not sure what was happening, so I don't think it was an issue with you...
Hey guys. I recently installed this along with per app dpi settings on my Droid DNA and so far I have been able to change DPI for things like settings etc but when I try to change it for my launcher (trebuchet, nova or apex) nothing happens.
Is there another way I can force DPI on to my Launcher without installing PA

System UI (or Launcher) keeps auto-restarting after a while

Is it only me or something wrong with LP? After upgrading to LP 5.0.2 (using Flashtool), System UI (or Launcher, or something else, I'm not pretty sure) just keeps auto-restarting after a while. The screen just becomes blank, moment later application icons show up. Applications seem to be reloaded (e.g. keyboard is loading for a moment before it shows up). It was working pretty nice before (KK).
Any help?
For the record, I'm using C6903 14.5.A.0.270 CE rooted, locked BL, odexed (original stock downloaded using XperiFirm). Also got xposed 3.0 alpha4 installed with following modules: Disable Desk Dock, Greenify
This is a bug on z1's lollipop

any help?
I have the same problem, doesnt happen on kitkat tho
Anyway, i dont expect it to be fixed, the z1 never been good at multitasking
I'm using Z1 (C6903 270 TW FTF) with del useless APP + Xposed Work fine NO issue
Because of high lowmemorykiller value, launcher and UI will restart frequently. You can try to flash init.d tweaks to adjust your lowmemorykiller value, and it will solve your problem.
Hi,
I suggest you trying at least a custom launcher with Lock In Memory feature. I was facing this issue and it was really becoming annoying, then I installed Xposed Module to do a small fix on Lollipop Memory leak (if you don't mind rooting it's a great option). And installed NOVA Launcher with hat feature.
All the best,

So u mean the xposed lollipop memory leak fix could solve the problem? but i heard that Z1 Lollipop stock already included this fix? mine already rooted and got xposed installed so I won't mind getting that fix if it solves my problem.

You're lucky then
@boydzethuong
1. For LMK> use 3C Toolbox from Play Store, set Android OOM at aggresive mode and enable set on boot (not init.d).
2. For launcher> use App Settings Beta, search it @ app Settings thread, used for Lollipo, not L 5.1.1
Enable resident for your current launcher and reboot.
memory leak has been fixed in 5.1. I'd wait it out til 5.1 is rolling out on the z1. can't take that much lunger 'til then. couple of weeks max (i hope)

OK, so to summarize, just like u guys I am having trouble with memory leak, which people said a fix had already been included in sony stocks BUT it didn't really fix the issue at all. correct? Then i'd go with: wait for 5.1
For those who are using xposed, yesterday I was about trying to uninstall xposed to see if I had any luck getting rid of the issue. However, I found a new version (v70) so I decided to flash it first then clear davik-cahce... and you know what... it seems to be working normally now. No lowmemorykill so far (yet?). Will pay a few more days see if it somehow solves the issue. You might wanna give it a try.
Cheers
