ciao,
I updated at cyanogen RC5.6 (my phone info confirms) but if I run Lilgupdater it still says there is the same update I had already installed.
can someone try if lilgupdater says something different?
same thing for me. The link is the same, so I assume it's the same file. squad will fix it.
I have another q regarding 5.6:
Is it me? Or is it way choppier than 5.5?
5.5 was so smooth and fast.
I also get this, but it's only minor. And I haven't noticed any lag.

Hi guys,
Well I'm a android user and I have a SE Arc S and I know quite a few things about flashing new roms, kernels, etc...
My girlfriend has a galaxy mini and she's complaning about the phone's performance. So I want to install a custom rom with a better performance but I know little about the "how to" in Samsung.
I've searched but I couldn't find any tutorial. Can someone post a link please?
Thanks
EDIT: Found the tutorials but in SE phone we have to unlock the bootloader, is it necessary on the Galaxy minis? Or is it just flashing through CWM recovery?!
Try here www.yagyagaire.blogspot.com I'm sure you'll find some info
If you have understood methods then Try flashing CM7 (or ROMs based on cm7) for best customizations or try Emanon v6 for touchwiz look and better stability....

it's running 4.0.4 not 4.4.1
For Daily uses, u can try CM7 with the stable one.
http://get.cm/?device=tass&type=stable
How to install custom rom:
1st: the device must have OS Gingerbread 2.3.x
2nd: install CWM via Odin
3rd: install custom rom ( .zip file ) from CWM (recovery mode)
it's running 4.0.4
Hy all
I would like to ask a question
You want to update GingerDx to Android 4.0.4 for Stock Kernel?
Ummm????
GingerDX is Android 2.3 a.k.a. Gingerbread. And it works with both stock and custom kernel.
Android 4.0.4 is Ice Cream Sandwich which only works with a custom kernel.
Can you reform the question please?
Oh, and questions go to the Q&A section... but don't create another thread, mod will move it.

There is no way for doing such thing, since GDX is a gingerbread (2.3) ROM.. but you can try installing some of the ICS ROMS, there is even IScreamDX, that is a ICS custom ROM built by team DX, the same responsible for the excellent GingerDX ROM
i think he means like you have 1.5 and you update to 2.1 and both work on stock kernel so why not update gingerdx to ics..
that wont work OP ...it will only work if the roms are all official and you are upgrading from one official to another official rom...
Its not that they dont want to,its just that with custom kernels 4.0 roms are more stable and run...

Yea,I think so.Some ROMS of ICS
don't work w/o a custom kernel.
It's my matter how I send this.
Hi Guys! I am new here. My Galaxy Mini's android version is gingerbread 2.3.6 and also rooted it a week ago.
is there any kernel for S5570JVKT1
Kernel Version : [email protected]#1
Baseband version : S5570XWKT2
Build Number : GINGERBREAD.JVKT1
I cannot find a custom kernel version to overclock. plz help me to find it..
Best way is to install a custom rom....custom kernel on stock rom may cause issues such as bootlooping...if you are not keen on straying too far from syock rom yoi can try the following custom roms: Emanon v7 and Chocobread v3.2 final...they look and work like stock roms but have all features of custom roms and more...Emanon is one of the best and most stable roms on galaxy mini...
Search in xda for their threads...

every custom rom kernel has OC support, so find a gud custom rom of ur choice and flash via CWM recovery.

i just installed cm10.1, i set to 806 mhz. d phone is stable. :good:
hi to all and all I have a question for three days each time I check the other phone in xperia x8 to see if a particular rom is adapted to the configuration of our smartphone.
I turn to this forum for very active member advised me which version of android I can use it as version 2.1
Android 2.2
Android 2.3
Android 4.0
or
Android 4.1
thank you in advance for your response
mik2929
Android 2.2 - very fast, stable(best for games)
Android 2.3 -slightly slower than 2.2 ,stable (recommended) (balanced)
Android 4.0-not tested by me, abandoned by developers, unstable
Android 4.1 - stable, much slower than 2.3, lags due to tiny ram On X8, needs swap for smoothness, less gaming(low ram) but worth a try if you don't do heavy usage
At last
This is my personal review
The most appropriate answer is TRY IT YOURSELF

No,launcher apk and some system files need to be ported for that launcher to work.
Here is a FROYO rom with stock SE 2.1 launcher, download v3 version and flash it.If it dosent work by CWM,flash it trough X-recovery.(long before we were using older edify scripting method which x-recovery supports)
Also you could grab it from the zip file by extracting it and taking needed files which i dont know and i am not sure if 2.2.1 app is going to work on 2.2.9.
Rom is for stock kernel as all froyo roms.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1060654
Lukenda thank you.
I'll see to the test I Thank you so much
