galaxianEE vs semaphore - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi guys
so what's the best kernel between these 2and why
thanks

You can flash both of these very easily using sgs flasher. Try each in turn and make your own mind up, it really depends on what apps you use and your own usage patterns.
Sent using TCP/IP

what would you use to play games (with chainfire etc..)

I personally have used both, latest Semaphore and GalaxianEE (I came from GT) and I personally still like GalaxianEE.
While not being able to overclock, it personally is the only kernel I've managed to use that love lower voltages, and I have managed to get my phone running at 50 hours

I've also managed to stretch it all the way to 96 hours before LOL, but I didn't take a screenie of that.

well the best part of this is that u can flash any of this kernels im prefer semaphore
more stable

thank you guys
i allready tried semaphore 1.9.0 but it lags sometimes .
i think i'm gonna go with galaxianEE for the battery life
beside those 2 , is there any other good kernels that support OC/UV
JVT of course.

Refer to poll on top. Personally I've tried a few of those and Galaxian is more of my thing, Absolutely stable with -225mv on 100 mhz

its decided .galaxianEE it is.
thanks for your help.

No problem. Here's a screenie of stable voltages for mine, may or may not work for you but just as reference I suppose

thank you
i will try this
BTW, what rom are you using ?

ATT Tilt Custom ROM Reccomedations?

I am using the latest official ROM, but want a faster version. Can anyone reccomend a custom ROM that is mostly based on the official only stripped out and sped up? I dont want to go too custom. Make sense?
Hmmm, you don't seem that new so i'm surprised you asked this :S. There are different ROMs and you should try them ALL out (yes, i said all) to see which one best fits your needs. You have no idea how tedious and stressful (at times) cooking a ROM could be so it's only fair you go try them all out and decide for yourself
I asked only because there seem to be SO many, and I really just want a simple paired down plain-old stock rom. Nothing fancy, just a few "speed her up" tweaks built in. I wasnt about to ask in the ROM thread, thats suicide.. I thought here would be ok.
I have posted some here and lurked for a while now, but only flashed like twice. 1 custom then the 6.1 official. I am not a big flash junkie, only a speed freak.

I you want stock go with "Imnotatreofan" ROM - Stock At&T 6.1 ROM with no bloatware - I have run it and it is very good.
If you want F-A-S-T - the try the "NoThrills" ROM - I am currently running this one and love it. Sorry I don't have links, I just saw your post and thought I would reply.
Useless Thread. Best is Subjective. Try them all. They are like Pokemon, Must Collect them all!

Did Google slow down FRF83 for better stability?

just ran quadrant on my phone running Kang-O-Rama froyo 0.9b2 Sp1
and despite it being overclocked to 1.13 its still slower than what seems to be older 2.2 versions?

I also tried it with Paul's FRF83 ROM and got pretty much the same results.
I double checked my setcpu settings were good btw
anyone want to run quadrant tests too? could just be my phone ('hope not)
1381 here, no oc with intersectRaven Kernel, pauls r19
same here with this guy: http://www.pocketpc.ch/nexus-one-ro...stom-rom-nexus-one-htc_cime-6.html#post648317 (or is that you?)
lol, second run... 1600?
third run: 1488
fourth run: 1523
What are your linpack scores?
1386 Paul's R19 no oc.
no that wasn't me...
I was getting 1317 with full on performance setting on setcpu.
linpack scores are in the 35~36 range
not complaining though, just thought it was interesting considering the kernel's OC'ed
Try another kernel, that's quickly done. Linpack is 35-36 here too. You should get above 40 with oc
MCR r19 with stock kernel... results look great... and yeah, values are almost consistent...

[Q] Spls/radios and flashing to CM6 or CM7.

Ok...I know this has probably been asked a few times but I am on my phone and would like to know thos before I get home.
So I am going to root and flash a Tom on the g1 I just got for my friend. I was thinking about trying both cm6 and cm7 and seeing which one runs better on this phone.
After I root and clash the custom recovery will I be able to go straight to froyo or gingerbread or must I flash the correct radios/spls first.
I found a few good guides on how to root and get a recovery but if anyone could point me in the right direction on how to get to cm6 or cm7 it would he much appreciated. I want to make sure I get this down before doing it so I don't brick his new phone. I am onlybfamiliar with rooting/flashing roms on samsung phones and the thunderbolt.
Thank you in advance for any help you guys can give me.

instead of cm6 i would use froyo by laszlo which is the same but much smoother with a theme. for cm7 go with cm7 magpie which is the fastest in my opinion. both roms use radio 28.25 ( on the threads. magpie doesn't have a thread.) and hboot 13d.

[Q] Factory Rom - Kernel Version?

I joined the Samsung Galaxy S club yesterday (previously a HTC die-hard fan) - anyway I digress... hit the romming scene with a zeal and after mucking around with a few roms, kernals etc, I decided I liked the feel of the samsung factory rom (used the CheckFusDownloader)
I used the oneclick root tool and am enjoying the benefits of a rooted android.
Enough waffling, my question is, after I messed around with kernel uploads etc, am unsure if Im using an optimal kernel at the moment for the default samung rom... here's a screenshot...

Another side-question... when you flash a factory rom... does it also replace the kernal?

don't know which kernel is the best, but try some of them out.
If you flash a ROM your kernel is also flashed.

Roms still out there for D3 ?

I'm looking for a daily driver with working cdma for pageplus/verizon with good battery life. I'm on 10.1/ics now and battery life is bad.
I can't use a GB rom because it won't run Crime City!
I don't really want to keep switching slots between stock and slot 1.
Any suggestions on roms available, a lot of the links for the roms don't work anymore.
Any help would be appreciated!!
tried steel droid 5.6?
Sent from my XT862 using Tapatalk
It's nice but its GB, it won't run the game i bought the phone to play. My atrix is running Notach 2.3.6 and that'll run it so i'm going to try a 2.3.6, I wish i could port cuz thats a pretty slick rom. It looks like moto was right about putting ics on these phones as its just too much for them and kills batteries!
The older kexec builds are about all that's left besides SD (I think it was ICS actually) or a real old CM9 build if you can find one.
steel droid 5.6 is ics, 5.0 is gb
