Attn: Posting this mainly for rom devs. Most users here will have no use for this, so don't bother flashing. Instead, check out my Speedy thread >>HERE<< , which utilizes (and includes) this INIT.D Hack. Speedy dramatically speeds up your phone, improves battery life, and now blocks known Android/Moto User Behavioral Tracking, Logging, and Statistics.
----
This is for devs to include init.d in their roms to further add functionality, tweaks, mods, etc. that have to be loaded during start up. This INIT.D hack originally discovered by Naven!
Devs: You can test that this works on your roms by flashing and then checking for a ".ItWorks" file in /data partition. If you are using ES File Explorer or similar you will need to be sure to allow it to show hidden files, otherwise you won't see this file.
Download - <MODERATOR EDITED - LINK REMOVED> (This does not speed up your phone, check out speedy for that)
Nice to see you on this side. Thanks! I hope you dont mind but I posted in droid forums linking to the original speedy thread.
It works on Droid bionic running liberty 3 2.0 rc1. Just a heads up.

So far, the speed improvements are impressive. Once app caches build back up, applications open almost instantly, homescreen scrolling seems a bit smoother, and overall functionality just seems better. I even loaded the resource hog that is Moto Blur, just to test speed and transition improvements, and I have to say, the Blur launcher flies now! No lag, no nothing, so I can only imagine what LPP, ADW, or the stock GB launcher would perform like. I can't speak on the battery life yet…I need to get a full charge before I test it out, but if you want functionality improvements, try this out!

1: Root your Droid 3 using the 1 click root method (search around XDA/Google)
2: Download Safestrap from Hashcode's website. - USE BOOTSTRAP IF YOU'RE ON STOCK/NON-SAFESTRAP ROMS
3: Install the .apk file using AppInstaller from the Android Market.
4: Start Safestrap (or similar) and allow superuser permissions - then install recovery.
5: Get Download All Files from Android Market.
6: Download the init.d hack.
7: Turn your phone off.
8: Press m + power, scroll down to BP Tools (volume down key) and select it (volume up key)
9: Scroll down to install zip from SD card (select using power button)
10: Go to internal sd card - downloads folder.
11: Find the init.d file, and install it.
12: Reboot the device (go to main menu on safestrap (or similar) recovery)
13: Done.

I use Hashcode's tweaked Bootstrap, but I'd assume the Safestrap recovery would work just as well.
I wasn't trying to knock Blur before; it's always seemed pretty smooth, but there were certain things that would lag slightly, like the app drawer. Now, it opens instantly, and I don't have any redraw or lag issues with it. Also, since it is a graphically intensive UI, I would assume that a less "heavy" launcher would respond even better to these tweaks. Over all, I think that whatever launcher you run, this will make the experience a bit better…browsing is quicker, and more enjoyable, there's little (if any) load time with apps like Friendcaster and Bank of America, etc. I would say, just backup your current setup, flash this, and if you don't notice any improvement, just flash your backup... I find this to be pretty nice though.

Use Bootstrap. Its probably not booting because you need to install a ROM after you enable safe system for the first time.

Breif History:
This ROM came to be by being bored and not sure what else can be modified with the software Moto so lovely gave us on our devices. I stumbled on the Droid2 SDK and gave it a look to see what was inside. To my surpise it was a clean ROM. No signs of Blur. I thought to see if it would boot on device and it did. The resolution was horrible and the device was so slow. I told Matt and we began to get the system up and running. In no time we had a more stable system. AOSP packages were created for our app folder and here we are now. Along the way Drod2169 asked if I needed some help porting it over to the DX so he joined up to help us create the DroidX version.
About ROM:
First Vanilla ROM for Droid2, DroidX & Droid2 WE!
First ROM for Droid2, DroidX % Droid2 WE that can be overlocked!
This is not an AOSP ROM but all stock packages are built from source. It is a complete set of vanilla Android applications. All Blur has been removed so it is the closest you will get to a true AOSP clean ROM for the Droid2/X/WE/Pro right now. This is not a themed ROM to make it look like AOSP ROM.
The purpose of this ROM was to remove all Blur and have a real Android experience. Please do not ask to add anything to ROM. Everything that is missing can be found in the Add On folder that was created when you installed ROM or can be downloaded from market.
The installed applications are all of your basic Android apps. Gmail, Voice Search, Car Home, YouTube and some other apps are missing since there are more updated versions on the market.
ROM has root, deodexed and zip alligned.
All downloads and support will be provided HERE.
It is hard to support so many different forums so that will be our new home base for now.
Thanks!

umm... there isn't anything wrong with root in this ROM. It's not part of the instructions but here's the steps for me to easily get root.
1. Launch Files or Astro from app drawer.
2. Browse to /sdcard/Fission/Essential_Apps
3. Install superuser.apk
4. While you're there, install DroidXBootstrap.apk as well to test root.
Hope this helps.

Those apps are worthless when you cannot get su permissions because you are no longer rooted. Even worse when you cannot reroot because phone no longer recognizes usb... don't tell me there are no issues. I have battery pulled, factory reset and still no usb. Ok, I've been confused on this matter since Fission 1.0: I noticed the pics for this ROM on the topic linked to in the OP show an AOSP unlock screen, but I still have the normal one (with music controls) just themed to LOOK AOSP. Is this how its supposed to be? I was REALLY hoping for the aosp lockscreen, because for some reason the normal one bugs the crap outta me lol.
thanks for any answers
blah blah blah
lol.... everyone is taking everything way to personal! So the released rom had an issue.. 1st it was easy to fix and 2nd if you have gotten this far with your X you better know how to at least install root! Yelling at the developers who dedicate their time completely for free will get no one anywhere...
This is a great ROM and the developers should be commended for it!

Introducing Blackhole Bionic.
<disclaimer>
I cannot guarantee any success on your phone, and any loss of time, money, happiness, life, etc. that happens as a result of flashing this ROM is your own responsibility. I recommend you use Safestrap, but it will work with Bootstrap as well. Always have an FXZ ready in case something goes wrong. If you are on .235 or .238 I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AGAINST FLASHING THIS OR ANY ROM WITH BOOTSTRAP as there is no way to FXZ to a working build.
</disclaimer>
Some of you may remember me from the Samsung Fascinate or HTC Thunderbolt. I made a ROM called Blackhole, because there was nothing like it, but I wanted there to be. Something with choices. I wanted a ROM that was exactly what I wanted, and nothing that I didn't. No toolboxes, no bloatware, no apps that I'd never use just because the creator wanted to add them. What I created was a stock based ROM that was as empty as I could possibly make it without everything falling apart. And on the Bionic that philosopy has served me well again, as I've created the first Blur Based ROM that is flashable in Safestrap.
This ROM contains none of the usual apps you'd expect to see in a full release. It has been trimmed down to the bare minimum. Why should you keep the stock browser if you only use Chrome? Who needs the MotoEmail if you prefer K9? And why would you want Blockbuster saved on your system partition where you can never get rid of it, when it can be downloaded from the market so easily? The answer? You don't!
Most of the missing apps are downloadable from the market. This saves them on the /data partition where you have plenty of space, not limited by Safestrap.
This is the first public release of Blackhole for the Bionic, and I will be working over time to continue to slim it down and make more options available. Here is a list of what's in the current build. If I've used any of your work without credit I apologize, please let know and I'll credit you, or remove it if you have a problem.
Stock apps: Calendar, Contacts, Phone, Play Store, Search, Settings, Smart Actions*, Talk, Text Messaging
Market apps: Camera ICS*, Nova Launcher*
CM9/AOSP apps: Clock*, Gallery*, File Manager*
Mods: Build.prop edits, governers, and beats audio from RedHead by Sparkyman 216 (A fantastic ROM if you want a full featured, Flash-and-go setup) and 1% battery mod by Dluke (works on stock based .232 .235 or .238 ROMs)
(* indicates a future release will make this file an optional addon with the choice of Stock, CM9/AOSP, or Market apps (free only)
Screenshots
Video Review
Recommendations for replacing removed apps:
Browser: Chrome, Dolphin HD, Firefox
Email: K-9 Mail
Voicemail: Google Voice
I will be adding extra files daily to flash some of the stock apps back to the phone if you prefer them. these include Email, Desk/Car dock launchers, Gallery, Camera, Visual Voicemail, and anything else the users request.
Instructions:
Bootstrap:
1. Make sure you are running a version of bootstrap that will boot to recovery on every bootup. like this one.
2. MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP!
3. Data wipe should be unnecessary, but is recommended
4. Flash the downloaded ROM
5. Reboot
6. Install the bootstrap apk again.
7. Bootstrap recovery.
8*. Install a Root File Manager (Root Explorer, ES file manager, Astro, etc.)
9*. Delete /system/vendor/app (except for the swype apk if you use swype)
10*. Delete /preinstall/app
11. Enjoy
*Steps 8, 9 and 10 are not necessary, but will remove the extra bloatware I haven't figured out how to remove with my install script yet.
Safestrap:
1. MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP!
2. Switch to Safe Side
3. Wipe Data
4. Flash the downloaded ROM
5. Reboot
6. Enjoy
So without further words, here is Blackhole Bionic 1.0:
Blackhole Bionic 1.0
Mirror #1 by Krazyace38 from ROMbot.org
Mirror #2 by JP1044 from ROMbot.org
Add-ons:
If you are running Bootstrap you can flash any or all of the system versions of these files, and they will save to the /system partition and will be saved permanently into the ROM, and will remain after a data wipe. If you are running Safestrap your space is very limited, so you will not be able to flash everything to system. consider flashing some of these apps to /data instead, or using a market app. Some will not work if flashed to data, so there is no download option in the data section.

I've been on .232 CM9 since I got the phone (with the exception of the first 16 hours while I was learning how to not break it). I've never used the 1% option, mostly because I hate having a cluttered status bar and because I use circle battery widget on my homescreen.
I would rather there not be any numbers there. Since they are there, I think the mod would benefit from taking them off the battery icon altogether, putting both numbers centered over the battery icon, or at least making the battery icon skinnier so that the second number is centered inside of it. The way it is currently makes it look like an unintentional mistake, largely due to how misaligned the second number is over the battery.
I've never done anything with themeing, maybe I'll take this on as a little project for myself.
Hell yeah. Make sure to show your work!
We are always looking for fresh mods in here.
Good luck and make sure to report back!

Managed to unlock, root and flash Android Revolution today. Everything went smoothly enough but I have a few questions:
1. Recovery screen has **TAMPERED** at the top, I assume this is normal?
2. I made a Nandroid backup, would I need to flash the recovery in the folder in order to restore to the backup or can I do it through CWM?
3. When I update to newer versions of the ROM (or any ROM in general) is there a way to keep all apps, photos, etc. as well as side loaded apps like XBMC?
4. Is there a tweak that gives me fine volume control? Phone is too loud sometimes...
5. Finally, any tweaks, mods, apps that require root that I'm missing out on? What's the best ones? This is my first ever Android device...
I appreciate any help, thanks!

Theme manager does not work, i rushed to get this ROM released, because I lagged too long.
So in V2.1 OR V3 it should work, and the status bar in V2.1.
Is the hidden LG menu in this build. ##program910 with 00000 force closes, and ##lgservicemenu I get a ringing tone.
I want to access the test battery option so I can use my extended battery which gives me not genuine battery.
where is the status bar
theres no pulldown notigication bar
Dude this rom reboots constantly

What's the status of the newer version?
I am working on putting together a custom Rom for the T-mobile LG V10 and I'm looking for some testers. Right now any volunteers will be testing my baseline rom, one that is as stripped down as possible. The goal is to create a stable rom with as little built into the base as possible, so that all apps are optional.
I've always been frustrated by the fact that if I prefer a clock app from the market, I've still got to have the stock clock eating up space on my system partition. Same with launchers, calculators, calendars, etc. And as time goes on, it has gotten worse. Now things like youtube, google apps, etc. have a base version sitting in system, and all your updates in /data, taking up twice the space. That is the idea behind Blackhole, that when it's fully complete, you have your choice of any apps you want, and none that you don't.
The first public beta is ready, and I'd like for some intrepid users to test it out. Be aware I will be asking you to wipe your phone to test this, I will be wanting reports of any issues you run into, and this rom will be missing things you will wish it had. Be prepared to download a lot of apps from the market, because when you flash this ROM, you will have about half a page of apps left when it first boots.
I have decided to release version 0.31 Beta to anyone interested. Be aware that there are some issues stemming from stock apps being removed, you can look through this thread for details, but here are a few:
No ability to set/keep custom lockscreen wallpapers without adding the LG gallery
Cannot preview pictures or set custom homescreen wallpapers until you download a gallery app from the market (google photos works great for me)
The following stock apps remain:
Camera
Contacts
Google Settings
Messaging
Mobile Hotspot (it's built into the wifi settings app or it would be gone too)
Phone
Play store
Settings
All other apps have been removed. This version is meant to be a baseline to build upon. If you want market apps integrated into the rom, just download them and use titanium backup to convert them to system apps, then they will stay if you wipe the device. If you want some of the stock apps back, either keep an eye on my folder for the V10 on Android File Host, as I will be periodically uploading zip files that will restore stock apps, or you can grab one of the stock system pulls and copy the apps you're missing to the correct folder on the phone using a root browser (es file explorer, rom toolbox, etc.) just make sure you're putting it in the correct folder (/system/app or /system/priv-app).
Additions:
Supersu
Busybox (files, not the app)
Nova Launcher
Requirements:
T-mobile LG V10 - this is the phone that I have, and the only model I will be working on at this time. If you've got an international version, or one for another carrier, I'm sorry, please don't try to flash this.
TWRP 2.8.7.1 - Instructions and files in this thread.
Basic knowledge of logcat, android file structure, how to recover from a soft-brick.
I also strongly recommend you backup your current setup, and keep this zip on your sd card so you can flash it from twrp if necessary
If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, feel free to flash, just don't expect anything fully-featured just yet. This is the first release, everything so far has been slimming down, now it's time to build it back up into something more useful and flexible than stock.
Beta .3 changelog:

I'd test this in a heartbeat if I didn't need my phone for work. Good luck sir.
I'll only have this device until Feb or March (whenever the M10 hits T-Mobile), but if you don't get enough testers, let me know and I'll help with what I can until then.
Can't wait to see Blackhole return!

Thanks Sonof,
Great to see someone starting to get this going. Two things.
1: This going to be Odexed or Deodexed?
2. I wouldn't mind helping out where i can, definitely not the most expert but i do have a couple others that are more knowledgeable and they have the v10 as well. so between the 4 of us, i think we can help you out. If interested and want us, just shoot me a PM and can try and help as well
Thanks again,
Zug

haven't tested a rom before but this is my first LG phone would defently like to gave a go at testing a rom out. i did notice they have much less stock apps than samsung and the rom is much smaller. i'm comming from a note four so to see the phone boot with only two screens worth of apps i was lost for a second thinking something was missing lol. PM me or just add a link here i will down load and test it out.

Still working out what can and can't be removed without breaking the hell out of the phone. some stuff that seems completely unrelated causes second screen to constantly FC when it's removed. I've made good progress though, and I plan on sending out the first beta invites tonight.
I'm in as well, if you still need testers

Uploading the first Beta now. If you PM'd me your interest, look for a response with instructions and a link in the next hour or so. Again, please be aware this is not a full featured rom yet, this is just a base with as much removed as i can manage without breaking the basic functionality. Once I get the base stable I'll start working on getting a full aroma installer put together with options for things like browser, launcher, email, bootanimations, etc. I'm looking forward to seeing how you guys can break it while I continue trying to strip out more fluff for Beta 2.
