Are the 0725 v10d and 0725 v20l baseband the same? Because i have flashed acidentley 0725v10d. Does that make any difference or not.. thanks
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA App
They are probably different, as one is for Froyo and the other for GB. But many people reports that they both work with GB, but we don't know why LG gave them the same ID. It's not very long to restore a backup, so if your ROM doesn't work very well in call quality, etc, you'll just have to flash the proper 20L one.
Is there a way to know witch is witch.
I have downloaded getrill app and it says i have 0725(v20l italy)rill and that is a match with my bb. I guess that i have a gb bb,or?

If you are on a stock-based ROM you can enter the hidden menu by dialling 1809#*990#, then select "Version Info" and look at "Factory Version." That's the real baseband version.
It says v10d. I would have to flash gb bb.

As far as I know you can't, there's no "hidden menu" or equivalent in CM7. Leaving only two options:
1) Backup, restore a stock-based ROM, examine the hidden menu, restore CM7.
2) Use your memory to figure out which baseband you flashed the last time ;-)
I'd go with option two.
Going by the memory, I had flashed V20L and then did a full wipe-Cache,data and dalvik....to remove the bootanimation i had accidentally installed....but went into no signal for the mobile...so i did a restore after flashing the ROM again....
so, i dont know if i have gone back in the BB?
Please advise.
Thanks in anticipation

The baseband can only be flashed in the following ways:
o Flashing a .kdz-file.
o Flashing a .fls-file via smartflash
o Upgrading via the LG Mobile Tool.
Flashing a ROM via CWM does NOT change the baseband.
If you have done none of the above then you still have the baseband you've had since the last time you did any of the above. The regular version info will be enough to identify it. (Settings/About Phone/Baseband version.)

Then, I am in V20L. Now, if I flash via CWM, a restore of Topo 2SP3 and HP SR1, do i still have the same baseband? Whats the effect on the device? Topo's ROM is based on V20E....isnt it? When I check after restoring...i think normally find V20E....maybe i am wrong...

Mostly, with some parts from later versions. As for the effects - that's a complicated issue. Basically the baseband controls everything radio-related on your device (and a few other things), most importantly the communication with the cell-towers.
Anecdotally, people have reported all kind of effects from changing baseband, the most obvious one being different sound-quality in calls. For a full explanation of what a baseband does and does not do it's probably best to search and read, search and read.

Last time I tried smartflash 0405 baseband, it did not wipe my internal sd. But according to modaco site, it will. Best is you perform a nandroid backup of your current rom and backup your internal sdcard.

Instructions:
1a/ Download the official ROM:

1b/ Download u-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip, copy to SD card (http://goo-inside.me/superuser/su-2....fgh-signed.zip).
In case you do not want root, skip this and steps 4, 5.
All PEBKAC questions go to General section, not here!
2/ Unpack LG-P500-v20g.7z with 7Zip or whatever
3/ Run LGMDP-v1.5.exe from the folder where you unpacked it and flash it the "Russian way"... For a walktrough on using this tool, see my Flash baseband HOWTO. (Note: I have replaced the stock recovery with CWM 3.1.0.0. In case you already have a custom recovery installed, just uncheck the box.)
4/ Reboot into recovery, flash su-2.3.6.3-cd-signed.zip.
5/ Install Busybox Installer from Market, install busybox.
6/ Done!
Bonus:
Kernel with overclocking: check this thread
Caveats: Switching to another ROM (not based on official v20 ROM):
- either flash only the stock 2.2.x baseband via LGMDP-v1.5.exe, see my Flash baseband HOWTO.
- or flash stock 2.2.x ROM via KDZ; or
- (for CM7 ROMs only): - after flashing ROM via ZIP, reboot and flash mik's new-baseband-patch-signed.zip from recovery[/B]! If you encounter issues, report them to mik_os (his CyanogenMod 7.1 thread), NOT to me, I cannot fix it!
Known bug: No 2G/3G data - wait for a new release.

FAQ:
Q: Can you upload v20B/D/... as well?
A: NO! I have better things to do than wasting my time with slow uploads. You can prepare the ROM yourself, just follow [HOWTO] Cook your custom rom for LG P500. Note: You only need steps 1-2. After that, replace recovery.img with one of your choice from here. Not to mention that the ROMs are essentially the same for everyone, save for country/OEM-specific bloat.
Didn't know it was already out :O I'm gonna test this soon!

Going back to 2.2/2.3 ROMs not based on LG's v20 -> flash stock 2.2.x with KDZ (as also already written on another thread as well.) That is the whole purpose why I uploaded the stupid 100+ megs file, after all.

Hi, i'm new to rooting, installing custom roms. I want to ask a question.
I'm interested in installing the O2X Flair GB v1 ROM, and according to the installation guide, i'm required to flash a v20c baseband first with SmartFlash. I did, and my phone booted up with the same old baseband i have previously. However, i checked my RIL and it was the v20c's one.
Am i doing correctly, or is it wrong?
Thanks.

Honestly, there really isn't. Each rom has its own little quirky issues.
PAC has no gps and a goofy Hangouts crash, wifi doesn't like to connect after the screen comes on (turn off then back on)
AOSPA works fine for some, not for others, no wifi for some
Slim has no gps, radio signal is bad, random wifi disconnects (fix like PAC usually, sometimes needs reboot)
CM10.1 gps...
All may have occasional lag, wifi issues, gps issues, random bluetooth issues, no camcorder, no HDR camera -- regular and panorama work
Its hit or miss at the moment. One nightly will be fine, next has crap battery, next has better battery but image banding...
None of them suck, but they might not be for you if you dislike development roms that may be incomplete or have a bug or two. Really depends if the bug is a deal breaker or not.
I still go back to clean ROM or the 4.1.2 mex jb ROM everything works and the batt life is a lot better . Also you can install cwm through ROM manager in the play store . Just use the photon q version . I have been able to flash every ROM with it . Make sure you back up b4 you start installing ROMs .

Flashing ICS and above changes the modem to JVT, so even if you do flash JW4 stock that's changed as soon as you flash CM9/CM10.1
However WD40 very kindly uploaded a version of JW4 in the modems thread:
