Still not receiving the update

So I've flashed my phone to the V6.tot and I'm still getting update not available. Did they extend the rollout? Or should I take it in to Verizon and have them look at it? Is anyone else experiencing this?
I have the stock recovery and I'm unrooted.

Same problem. Verizon can't force it. You can try to swap devices for a different revo or wait for the gingerbread tot

Damn, that sucks do they replace it on the spot or do they send it in and I'm SOL until they fix it?

I believe there was a 7 day window to deploy the update to all their clients. It may be more of a hassle to go through the replacement process (unless a clerk at the Verizon store is feeling generous) than it is to wait it out.

I just got off the phone with Verizon, who called LG and they stated that they are still pushing updates and not all devices have updated yet.

Ahh this makes me feel a bit better about my situation. I wasn't able to pull down the GB update and thought it was something I did wrong. I guess ill have to wait for another couple days. When did the rollout begin?

Check what your imei/meid number is being reported as. If it's being reported as a 0, then you won't be able to get the update.

I had an imei/meid but when you try to update it states ther is no new updates even from v4. Think something is blocking it

Still no GB for me either. grrr. :x

still no update here either....verizon told me it could be as late as the 21st that I get it pushed to me....sucks...and btw my IMEI number is NOT zero....

What's it mean if your ERI version is -1? That looks peculiar to me.

My ERI is 5 and my IMEI is not 0.

[Q] Texting Issues

Strange situation happened last night/this morning...
Last night I had reflashed GV on a cache/dalvik wipe then DreadGinger. I was texting "jane" just fine then all of a sudden i would not receive any texts from her. She had sent me many and I wouldnt receive them, she could send and receive to others fine and so could I, just had the issue between us two.
1. I wiped cache/dalvik and reflashed GV and still wouldnt receive them (except i got one random one but that was it)
2. So then I redownloaded GV and wiped cache/dalvik and reflashed the new one and all is well.
Just thought inquiring minds would have any guesses on what could have caused this. If you flash a ROM so many times can it corrupt it? Or why it was just between me and her?
Lol Ik this is a lot just thought I would ask for future reference and cuz I'm afraid to flash anything now till ik what could have caused it

I've had the same problem with "Jane" a few times. She's using a stock Revo and I'm on Gvolt 1.3. I can't help with what's causing the issue but it always clears up after a reboot.

how many characters are the text messages? is "Jane" with AT&T? this will happen when exchanging long text messages with AT&T people because of the CDMA vs GSM thing....there is a workaround if this is the case....

They were short and she isn't on at&t. The issue is resolved now though! Thinking maybe it was on Verizon's end....surprise surprise lol

ZV8 update

Just got a notification to update to ZV8 on my GVolted revo. Anyone else seen this or know what is updating? I cancelled it until I found out more about it. Verizon's Revolution support site only mentions zv7.

I was tempted to let the update go through to see what it did, but I'm currently driving from San Francisco to yuma, AZ and need my phone for navigation/music purposes and didn't want to kill my phone for the rest of my trip if something went wrong.
I am curious to know what it does though, if anyone's brave enough to risk losing root, or updates by accident

Don't update unless you put stock recovery back on other wise it will fail then you are going to see if you can get root again hopefully, one of the newer exploits for the esteem/spectrum might help with this.

I didnt get a notification for it so i checked manually and it was there. Going to put stock recovery back on phone and update later. The wife is updating her non rooted revo now. I will report back with differences that i notice.

Wifes phone updated and radio, kernal, build #, and sw version changed. It just said phone enhancements so im not sure what yet...lol. Tried mine for the hell of it and downloaded fine but wouldnt install due to clockwork, so i just rebooted and all is same as it was. Will switch recoveries later and try again.

Edit: kernal did not change but it is android 2.3.6 now

So now with this new update they can remotely get into your phone and troubleshoot it. Little creepy there lol. I'm only on my first replacement now when I call get will want to troubleshoot the thing.

HA.. that is creepy. I am sure MT will find a way to block that on next GingerVolt.

Cant seem to get stock recovery back on here. I followed steps and it said it was good to go but when update tries to install it goes back to clockwork. Any help would be cool. Thanks

there was a step that i the update failed you should pull the battery

Don't update unless you want to lose root lol.

ZV8 issues.

Went to a Verizon store and they said that the reboot issue is still an issue for people. I've had 7 reboots since I updated the day the update came out.
I guess the messaging not working right, is an issue also but I don't have that issue.
Anyone having issues or am I the unlucky one lol??

They failed to fix the touchscreen going unresponsive at random. Back on GingerVolt2.. OC'd and loving it!!!!!

Seriously.. I have had this on 2 different revos ever since going to Gingerbread.
Back on GingerVolt2.. OC'd and loving it!!!!!

I only get the unresponsive screen here and there and that's on GV 2.0 gets quite annoying especially playing games.

Random reboots
I am willing to see if I get the random screen freezes vs the random reboots I was getting on my GV install.

I had the same issues and called Verizon yesterday to let them trouble shoot the phone and it went south quick. They had me try a few things and eventually done a factory wipe only to get to the language screen and once I selected next to start activation BAM! Reboot so they asked me what phone I wanted! Offered me a Nexus I told them no don't like them, and it was going to be a used one to boot!! So ended up letting them give me a Brand New Razor Maxx it will be here Friday!! Love the Revo only had it 3 months, but time to move on I guess keep up the good work guys you will eventually get these to work but I cant wait that long!!!

Just had my first random reboot, should probably call Verizon before my warranty runs out.

when you call in to verizon did you have it rooted and such? im on zv8 and i am having screen lock almost everytime i open my notification bar done nothing else to it besides root it in zv7 and roll over to zv8 wondering if i should unroot before i call them and hassle them about it

I did unroot before calling but it didn't matter, I mentioned the random reboots and threw in the unresponsive screen (even though it only happened once) The rep immediately offered to send a replacement. He first asked if I had done the usual troubleshooting (powercycle, factory reset, etc...) and I said yes.
But you would definitely want to unroot it before mailing it back
I only unrooted first due to the new remote access they have ... didn't know how much info they could get with it.

Thanks for posting! This is the only app of this purpose that works as I would expect it to.
I too was prompted after 10 days or whatever to pay for use afterward, so I clicked the button to allow me to pay for it, and the dialog just went away, and the service still works... How exactly is this charging me, if it is?

To follow up, it turns out thY it stopped working. Clearing the app data doesn't restore functionality. Clicking subscribe doesn't do anything either. Oh well.

I know that reflashing your ROM will restart the cityid free trial. Maybe just clearing cache and dalvik cache will restart it? Maybe manually clearing /data/data/com.cequint.ecid and allowing it to rebuild will restart it?

If I'm paying for it then went to a non sense rom how can I cancel it

Actually if you clear the data with Titanium, it will start over without having to reflash the rom

Clearing the dalvik cache works too.
