I plugged my phone to PC and it does not mount the sdcard.an error saying safe to remove sdcard appears.I'm using Alfa v5
Alfa v4 nvr had such a problem
I shifted to alfs v5 after using naA kernel
Then I read about vold update is necessary
I went to cwm recovery after reflashing the alfs kernel.error pops up that sdcard not mounted.what should I do??

whenever i tried to mount usb storage
a notification "save to remove sdcard" appear only
but usb storage still not working
also..when i open xRecovery (to restore to an earlier date)
i got error fail to mount card
but i can see my sd card directory in recovery
i already tried reflash my kernel also my rom
still nothing fix..
my x8 using Alfs8 and GingerDX v022

try reformat your SD card
No no guys, OP, just remove swap.

Hello, i have some kinda problem....after flashing Alfs kernel and GingerDx v21 every time i press turn on USB storage it just unmounts my SD card.

Did you run the zip file which updates updates the chargemon and vold?
It's called update-rom-chargemon+vold-AlfsKernel.zip.
Download the attachment and flash it with CWM recovery. That should fix the SD card problem.
P.S. Don't forget to wipe cache and dalvik cache! which can also be found in CWM recovery. Hope that helps!

I have alfs and gdxv21 rught now but for some reason i want to install froyo
But when i try to install it through cwm it says amending script so i googled for answer
It says that i have to.install throught xrecovery so i install it by tollbox but when i try to install the rom it says cant mount sd card -.-.........what should i do....... thanks....

there is an instruction on thread "FP 2.2" that flashing tru CMW is only for those who have "ext3/ext4", therefor if u don't have any partition in your sd card i guess, that why u get those error.
try flashing tru x-rec. but make a full wipe b4 and after u flash the rom and flash apps2sd just b4 reboot..hope it help!!
I tried install through xrecovery but it just telling me can't mount sdcard...
So yeah, yesterday bought the Xperia X8, changed the stock ROM and Kernel to those one in tittle. [2.6.29.6-Alfs and GingerDX mod]
I'ved had an issues with WiFi errors and no sim, but i solved it, by putting other Kernel to phone. And yes, i've tried the LinuDX kernel too, but still SD card is "not present or unmounted"
I saw that Alfs need an extra file to flash to mount SD card, is that true.?

I USED TO HAD THIS ERROR SD card damaged ..i bring it to foreman since i cant repair it ...
Yeah, it's pretty weird that it's like that. It worked on stock ROM. And i couldn't damage it so badly, phone is 1 day old
UPDATE: Went in xRecovery and tried to mound /sdcard. Gaved me an error - "E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0pl (or dev/block/mmcblk0) (Device or resource busy)
Error mounting SDCARD:!"
UPDATE2: When i try to mount USB storege from ClockworkMod it say me: "E:Unable to open ums lunfile 1 (No such file or directory) E: (sys/devices/platform/msm_hsusb/gadget/lun0/file)"

go into alfs CWM recovery and install update-rom-chargemon+vold++AlfsKern.v2
the .zip file is on alfs 06 kernel first page.
if you cannot copy update-rom-chargemon+vold++AlfsKern.v2 on your SD card, flash stock kernel, keep gingerdx and then copy it on SD card, then flash back alfs kernel (also dont forget full wipe)
Full wipe before and after installing stock kernel? and after the installing back alfis kernerl too?
i said to switch on stock kernel only if you dont have another way of putting that zip on your SD card (just your xperia)
doesnt matter if you do or not a full wipe when you install stock, becase your goal is to have alfs, so after you flash alfs i suggest to perform a full wipe and install the zip

what version of GDX? if v22 you try v21.i also have that with v22 and back to v21 that problem gone
I'm still on GDX v22 but problem is gone after that update, so even no need for older version

hi friends...i have a problem.i had flashed the naa ics 04 kernel in my xperia x8.and i get boot to clockwork mod.but in clockwork mod when i tried to install custom zip and i clicked choose zip from sdcard.but,it continuously says that "E:can't mount/sdcard".so i tried the mounts and storage menu and when i clicked the mount/sdcard its continuously says "Error mounting sd card....".so i took the memory card out and formatted the sd card with the help of card reader and copied the custom roms and tried to install custom zip.but,it continuously says that "E:can't mount/sdcard".so i took the phone and reflashed it.and then i tried to install custom zip then also the same problem.now please help me friends from with this problem.

try to turn on your phone WITHOUT sdcard
then turn on again WITH sdcard
and don't forget if our sdcard format is FAT not NTFS

Usually things U can do:
-redownload kernel
-try on another sd card
-try on another pc
and the most obvious question did U do wipe data/factory reset before installing?

try to turn on your phone WITHOUT sd card
then turn on WITH sdcard
make sure if the sdcard format is FAT
cek your phone driver dude! :laugh:
