Hi,
Can you please test and see if the phone is hardware limited to record the voice of the other person on a call like many other HTC PPC phones.
Software like:
VITO AudioNotes v1.3
Resco Audio Recorder 4 betas
LivePvr
PM Recorder
or even with the build-in Windows Notes.

resco recorder
http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/audiorecorder/default.asp
also you could try
vito audio notes
http://vitotechnology.com/en/products/audionotes.html
I am using Resco audio recorder on my Kaiser

but does it record the call partner voice too?
I know it was possible to record the whole conversation only on smarphone because of an hardware limitation in pocket pc instead smartphone.
Thats also very important for my decision whether to buy the Kaiser or not!
Anybody - please check and post... (would be perfect if somebody could make and record a short test call and attach it here )
Thanks a lot!

yes, vito audio notes records the other person's voice too. you can just record whenever, or have it automaticly record when u make or recieve a call. it has different settings of sound quality too.

I know they say that it works, but actually it doesn't for all newer HTC Pocket PCs - that's why we are asking. Anybody here who really tried it and can attach a test call (without loudspeakers turned on!)?

well, you can see if you do some research - it's a hardware limitation as the phone audio system is not fully integrated into the Windows Mobile audio system...
This is also a feature i would like to see!
There is talk about utilising the Bluetooth Stack to record the call (both ends) but i dont know how far along it is.
Its really frustrating that the PPC phone edition isnt smarter than the 'Smartphones' that can record both ends!
Perhaps we should actually look at this a little differently.
The PPC recorders all seem to record via the mic, but how about a recorder that can record only the audio sent to the speaker! (Thus recording the other person!)

The PPC recorders record via the mic because recording the audio sent to the speaker doesnt work, that is the limitation everybody is talking about. This audio routing is handled in hardware itself and software is not able to tap it in between...

Hi Shantzg001,
I realise they dont record both, but i am suggesting that it would be great to find something that can only record the speaker, not the mic. Just as if you wanted to record streaming music. (that doesnt record from the mic).
I havent found anything yet that can do this but it could just be the search terms im using.
I can confirm that unless you use the speakerphone that Vito Audio Notes, as was supsected, records only the microphone (your own voice, not the other party of the call)of the phone conversation. Also the "auto record" for phone calls does not work when activated either.
Try Resco Audio Recorder, it has trial version for sure.
Some people said it works.
I tried it - you don't hear the other side of the call on the recording unless you use the speaker.
Damn
I really missed this feature (phone recording).
I hope there is a registry setting "EnablePhoneRecording" or something like that.
Do you think this is hardware limitation? Or application issue? or OS? ... hard to guess.

Any ideas???? Thank you very much.
PD: i know record a call may be illegal in some countries (not in mine, chile)

isnt that working only when you trought SPEAKER ??? (i meant this way it can record incoming and outcoming voices, because i thing with the regular phone mode it would maeby only record my voice and not callers also)
and my Kaiser SPEAKER sux, i cannot talk wih anybody, nobody hear me a thing ... (half duplex mic)
nope, it works all of the time. I'm using a Tilt with austinsyncs BigStorage

will give it a try, thanks for helping man!
Resco Recorder will record calls automatically. The only drawback is, it only records your voice.
This One Works Great on my HTC Wing
This should also work on the Kaiser.
Enjoy !!!

Voice Recorder is not working, i can't barely hear the other side voice when inm listeting to the recorded file... it only grabs what came out from the mic, not like the internal line of the mic

Strange how some people claim that they can record phone calls with good quality for both parties in the call, while others claim that this is not at all supported on the Kaiser and any other PPC phone made by HTC.
Surely someone must be lying! Or maybe just confused!
AFAIK, recording of both parties in a phone call is only possible when the Kaiser is in speakerphone mode so that the microphone can pick up the sound from the speaker!
The resco site says that if the software only records your voice and not the caller's, that's a hardware issue, it's not a software issue. So I don't know if you'll find one that records both you and the caller if you can't get even voice notes to work that way. It seems my tmobile Wing is that way.. I can only record myself unless I put them on speaker.

Yup, the guys don't seem to have read my related articles (guys, DO FOLLOW MY ARTICLES in the General forum!!!!), where I've explained how one can find out whether his or her model is able to seamlessly record the other party (hint: the Kaiser, as with most other HTC Pocket PC phones, can't).
Ok maybe im late and every one knows this already, but skype for winmob for 6.1 is available officialy on skype site
UPDATE after a couple of days of use.
-Skype adds an option on the Contacts list you can call skype contacts directly form contacts list.
-Nice clean good resolution and cool specifically UI thats made for VGA 6.1 winmo. Nice icons etc.....
-Great sound quality.
-Im using headphones for Skype talks so the soud coming out of the speaker is not a prob!
Overall performance GREAT!
Highly Recommend.

It's about bloody time too
Release date is yesterday- I wonder if there's anything different than the one floating around here
At least there is from start a programm icon and the exe isn't anymore in the main memory which gives a advantage of almost 3Mb at your phone.
The changelog says, that they resolved audio routing problems...if they mean sound routing to phone (front) speaker it doesn't work on my diamond. Speech still comes out the top speaker. Anybody maybe got it to work?
Tried it worked but still the back-speaker is used.

Yes and that sucks!!!
Well at least its faster and better looking and better quality than fring.
This "using the main top speaker" has always been a feature of Skype. I don't think it's a bug, but its designed that way.
I believe the earpiece speaker can *only* be used by the phone module of the device, and no other apps can access it.. Maybe some experts can verify my statement.

Agree, can you use skype with headphones?
O wait ill try right now!
UPDATE 3minslater:
Yes it works headphones pretty cool great sound quality (thanks to Jewels great and fast connectivity set) and a skype designed for 6.1. IMO
what you boys think??
SIP calling can be enabled on the phone (your GPS dies hoewever), but then the sound does go though the right speaker. So yes, it is definately possible to not only use the front speaker, and I'm pretty sure this is not a feature, but just an accepted bug.
PS: Some E-Ten devices can have Skype routed to the internal speaker.
Hey mkhattab, jus wanting to know wht is data package price you are paying to etisalat in dubai... cause i am planning to subscribe to it so tht i can use skype too.... thanx a lot....

As far as I can see, you cant video call with it yet
SKYPE sprint htc touch mp 6900 windows mobile 6.1 NOT working

ooVoo is beta and it wont work on all devices. try Tango or Fring they are much better.
working
Oovoo shtaghlet ma3i, I tested video chat with desire HD and it worked fine. It used the rear camera.
Would have been if we had a front camera
I have video enabled under setting but when I try making a video Cal, it drps the video just before startup call continues, only webcam disconnects.
Even more troubling is the fact that my MT4G running CM7 does the exact same thing.
I am very embarrassed borrowing my cousin's I pad to make Skype video calls. Anybody have similar issues?
I have the latest Skype update
works fine for me connecting to iPhone, Linux and HP touchpad.
the problem is on android side. Webcam shuts down. I have no idea why you are posting about all other OS except android
have the person video call you, and you pick up selecting answer with video, and that should work fine.

I getting the exact same behavior on my rooted xoom. Is rooting the problem?
solved
turns out she had not updated her skype app on her acbook in ages.
i developed a suspicion after i made a successful video call to an ipod touch.
i guess the outdated instllation just did not support video calling with mobile pltforms
