Heat problems? - LG Optimus 2x

I had my phone in my jeanspocket, suddenly it started to be very hot...
I pulled out the phone, and crap how hot it was. I opened setCPU to watch my cpu load, it was almost idle (216-503Mhz). So i pulled my battery and let it cool down a few minutes.
When i got i running again my clock was reset to 1 January 00:00..
Strange
Does anyone recognize this problem?
Any ideas of what went wrong?
Or was it just an act of God?

I got that problem on CM7 as well. around 80hours or so, my phone feel slow.
Running on CM7.
Had the same problem on stock. On CM7 I regularly get around 200 hours without slowdown, never tried to max it as I flash a newer nightly quite often.
I never reach that amount of hours since I have 3 replacement batteries and I exchange them instead of charge the phone.
I asked about the same problem a while ago: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1146731
The problem is internal SD I/O slows to a crawl after about a week or so without rebooting. You can confirm that with Antutu benchmark app. Worst I've seen is 3MB/s write.
I've tried stock roms (up to and including Hong Kong v10d), MCR Fr17, 19 and Gr1 and all exhibit the same slowdown. Now I'm testing CM7 but so far it reboots due to one reason or another.
I get a bsod after about 3 days and nights of uptime.
I have the same problem... My old Desire HD is lightyears faster, even though it has an uptime of 600 hours, where mine is freshly rebooted. I wish I never bought that LG piece of crap.
Same prob here, after 55h.
Using cm7 #126.

reboot your phone, should work then ...
Okay, CM7 #127 with VorkKernel dated 1st Sept has been running for over 140 hours and the phone is just showing first signs of performance decline -- Apps launch a tad slower and music stutters very occasionally. Other than that, and WiFi stopped working again (seems to happen every time when uptime is > 100 hours), the phone is perfectly usable.
There is no doubt CM7 has fared a lot better than other ROMs, but seems to me that anyone who's looking for a phone that can run for hundreds of hours without issues, they need to look elsewhere.
After over 210 hours the phone was finally crashed by the low battery warning.
Even i was experiencing that problem n then an hour later when i unlocked the screen the phone suddenly rebooted..anyway it became so slow that it was very annoying to use it..guess i need to restart it every few, hundred maybe, hours of uptime

[Q] strange battery behavior

I have problems running CM7 ROMs on my device. When battery is about 50%, it suddenly runs empty. When rebooting battery life is still at 48%. I haven't found an answer to that problem by searching yet. Is there someone with same problem?

yes, I have same problem and do not know how to fight with it.
here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1834028 something said about clocking down CPU and undervolting. because this stuff sounds like rocket science for me, i have not tried.
I wiped batzery stats from cwm, I calibratet battery through an app, didn't change anything...

OP you need a battery calibration:
First link on google http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1616598
Googling "battery calibration android" and your O2X will tank you !
As I said, I loaded battery to 100% and wiped battery stats from CWM. But even right after the following boot I couldn't get the battery empty, because suddenly the battery stat ran down to 0, after reboot it was back to 38%.
I only have this problem with CM7-based ROMs. At the moment i'm using Modaco, battery works fine!
I flashed my device again:
- battery fully loaded
- full wipe
- wiped dalvk cache
- wiped battery stats
- flashed Gueste 3.6
Battery was at 100%. Last time I looked on the battery status it reached 26%. About 30 min later the phone was off. Turned it on again - 25% battery.
So calibration didn't help.
Any ideas....?

i did an experiment - changed my phones CPU minimum frequency to 300 mhz. it is one step from default value. now i'm testing third battery lifecycle without instantaneous battery discharging problem. You can try too
Ok, I will give it a try.
If it works I will not flush my phone in the toilet. Otherwise....

Maybe you just need to replace your battery for a new one. Batteries don't last forever, some time ago I had to change my nb battery
If anyone else has this problem: it always occurred when I had bad network connection.
I changed Baseband and RIL from 218 to 725 (v10d), didn't have a shutdown yet.

Note 3 Heating Problems

I am experiencing extremely hot temperatures with my note 3 which is making the battery drain faster than usually. I was wondering if anyone has experience this issue and if you have, how did you solve the issue.

I woke up in the middle of the night the other day and found my note in a frozen state with a blank screen but with the notification and capacitive button LEDs illuminated. The phone was very hot to the touch, possibly hot enough to cause skin burns. I removed the battery and let it cool off until morning. I was using the Xnote rom.

I'm on stock Kit Kat and am experiencing this problem.

I re-flashed and resolved it. A factory reset should fix it.

I have experienced this also,I'm on stock KK with no root. By any chance do you have Lookout installed? I noticed lookout updated the other night and now I have wake locks and draining my battery from 100 to 45 percent in less than two hours without any user activity and lookout is on the top of my battery list.

S5 heats up?

Is anyone experiencing a warm back with s5 especially after a reboot? Is goes up to 99 degrees F and drains the battery but nothing else is running. Anyone know the cause? Thx in advance.
I haven't noticed any unusually high temps, it runs about as hot as my Note 2 would under similar situations.

Ok, do you know what the temperature would be under normal use? Wondering if I need to exchange mine which I don't want to do.
I've been emailing and browsing XDA for the last 20 minutes and its been sitting right around 85*F every time I've checked on it.
Have you checked what apps are running? I've noticed some warming when I have used the camera or internet extensively, but nothing like my GS3 used to.

No I haven't experienced that stuff. It runs very smoothly.
I'd recommend resetting the android os from settings 》 backup&reset.
The next level is to completely reinstall the operating system using Samaung Kies (download straight from Samaung website). Install usb drivers from samsung site.
Once kies recognized your phone, run a full backup if you have anything you'd wish to back up, then reinstall/intitialize phone software.

Here is a graph showing the phones temp over the last 5 hours.
On the S4 upon initial boot up, the phone performs a media scan on of the internal storage and SD card. While this was happening, the phone would become noticeably warmer, I believe the same thing is happening to your S5.
Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk
Generally it shouldnt heat up. You should try a factory reset but heating is normally caused by a bad settled kernel in the firmware. Seeing as there are no custom kernels to replace it and stock firmwares to flash in Odin you could just factory reset.

(Q) Facebook app

Is it just me or does the recent facebook app make this phone extremely hot. Recently my phone has been rising up to 46 degrees Celsieus. Goes away when I factory reset then waited a few hours to install all my apps then it did it again. So I experimented and just Uninstaller the fb app and the phone got hot again... Any body else?

The same problem I have, I do not know how to change it. I do not know whether this program is thereby claimed, or why it is so .. Kind of weird. But it is not always so easy And otherwise you lay the phone in the fridge: D

Not experienced any heat issue with the new facebook app. Btw 46C is not that hot for the HTC One, pretty normal temp depending cpu usage and screen brightness.
