Belkin Case VS Official Samsung book cover - Galaxy Tab Accessories

I got both
Here is a little recap of + and -
Belkin (canada 50$):
+
look
lots of different positions
stable
durable
non slippery surface
quality/price ratio
-
cover around the screen
makes it harder to clean the screen
has to be opened (fold) to plug the charger
size
Samsung (canada 60$):
+
Material
durable
magnetic closure
Thin
look
clip in
-
screen is upside down when u put it in the "typing" position (i know tab can auto rotate but still)
surface a bit slippery
not as stable in portrait position
has to be opened (fold) to plug the charger
price
I like both but for the "clip in" part, i prefer the "official" so my screen doesnt get partially covered
Price is a bit high, couldnt find it anywhere under 60$
At the end, it will be a personnal decision

Can you link to the official case in canada? i got a tab for x-mas and want to pick up the case before then

DELL polyethylene case not great

Got delivery of the above case today which comes with a decent easy fit screen protector
the case basically covers the back and the top but sadly not the home, menu and back button area or the
Earphone area.
the top buttons are harder to reach as well.
Not worth. Buying esp for 25 quid

Send it back for a full refund under the Sales of Goods Act. The case is falsely advertised and is not as described. "This robust form-fitting case provides a total protection for you Dell Streak from scratches" (sic) is the blatant, ill-grammared lie on the web site, when it leaves the scratch-prone front panels totally unprotected.
You might put up with that for a fiver, but for 25 quid? Stuff it up 'em, I say.

Cheers for this, bought a screen protector off amazon £8 ish 5 triple layered. Wouldn't know its there.
Not bothering withcase, its not the type of phone that you don't notice an extra few mil thickness.

To be honest I can't be arsed but the case is very tight fitting and follows the shape of the streak, like I said before the screen needs a protector which is included but the 2 panels either side of the screen are not protected at all.
All of the ports and buttons are accessible

This case is laughable .. I am packing it back up and returning it. The back of the streak needs LESS protection than the piano finish and screen. You get this case which seems to be made of a thicker version of the plastic it is packaged it. It fits over the back of the case and that is all .. They include one sheet of screen protection .. I forget what I paid for it but it is worth about a dollar .. NO MORE.
I ordered both cases. I am keeping the wallet .. maybe .. That is cardboard covered in some sort of material with a coated rubber band to hold it closed. UGH .. I would love to have an ottercase for this.
i tried reviewing this case fairly and honestly on Dell's website and they refused to put the review on even though the only other review said roughly the same thing
i.e. that it is crap
I just picked up the FormFit Case myself and I can honestly say I was surprised at how it barely added any size to the overall dimension of the Streak. I like it. The openings for the buttons keeps them from being accidentally pressed during daily use.

What about the fact that the 2 panels either side of the screen have NO protection at all not exactly total protection is it?
You cant really cover that panel because first of all the bottm panel is also touch sensitive, the top part has the camera and sensor. I dont see any difference with it and most other cases for any other phones. If the 2 front panels are covered, it would make the Streak feel HUGE. Its already a big phone, but nice and slim. Take that slimness away, then its just A BIG PHONE.

1) Touch buttons can work perfectly well though a properly designed case
2) Camera and sensor too - ever heard of holes?
3) The Streak is huge anyway - 1mm on the front isn't going to make any difference - not least to those want "total protection" (sic). I note Dell don't make that claim on the US site. Scared of being sued perhaps?
4) The flip out back is another fail - if the hinge was higher up it could have acted as stand too
5) Even if the case was perfect, it's only a cheap bit of moulded PU which compared to "most other cases for any other phones" would cost £5 max. Also why is it $19.99 on the US site but £25 (~$39) in the UK? If that's not clear proof Dell are shafting punters I don't know what is.

Most likely due to VAT I would believe.
Anyone know of any sort of sleave cases for the streak? I liked the old sleave case I had for my g1 and would fancy the same for my dell.
I love the way some Brits just roll over when being taken for a ride. Since when has VAT been 100% markup?
I see PDAir are now doing Streak cases which is good to to see. But disappointed that they are also also taking liberties on pricing in comparison with similar devices i.e. $50 vs. $28 for N810.
I appreciate any business will charge the maximum the market will stand but it seems Dell's ludicrous original accessory pricing has meant that Streak owners are now a soft target for everyone else.
Got to admit Dells pricing says "We don't want to sell this stuff" to me. Somebody at Dell doesn't live in the real world.

No idea what your guys VAT is but ours is 17.5%, yet theres jack we can do about it being so exspensive besides writing a very stern letter to dell Mind you I wouldnt pay that price for that case unless it is made out of diamonds -.-'
does anyone have a coupon code to get free shipping.
Shipping is like 7$
Edit : If anyone is willing to give away the case, I can take it.
Dell Streak plastic case
I have had this case for at least 2 weeks. The phone dropped out my hands twice when connect to the usb charger. It hit the floor from about a foot and a half height. The glass was intact but I noticed that right next to the power button the streaks plastic frame had popped out. All I had to do was snap it back in no issues. Just realized that this case does not adsorb shock it sends the force to the streak itself. Going to buy another case once they become available. By the way case is already scratched up.

Third-party car windshield mount?

Has anyone found a descent third party car windshield mounth for the Galaxy Tab yet?
Here is one.
Saw something similar on eBay, isn't the "claws" way to big? looks like you could hold a brick with that.
I got the above in car mount as part of the modaco superetrader offer, it's very good and versatile considering the price but the longer arm is almost too wide, so it's a bit fiddly when mounting the brackets on the short sides of the tablet, and there seems to be no way of mounting the brackets on the long sides of the tablet without them pressing the power and volume buttons

I have the RAM holder for my old Samsung Q1U's, I found that the SGT w/ the soft case on it wedges rather nicely into it w/o risk of falling out. Because the Q1u is longer than the SGT, the mount does stick out about half an inch on each side.

Shame if that's the case, as it looks good otherwise.

That blue stuff you see is INCREDIBLY sticky, but leaves no residue when it releases. That Tab won't be going anywhere unless there's one hell of a frontal impact on the vehicle (or you own a Veyron with a strap-on rocket booster).

NOT BAD.. seems like it will work with a gel case, im using the ebay one i bought for my ipad and it works great just tends to cover the volume buttons on the case depending how i place it on there. , im still debating if getting the one by slipgrip is gonna be worth it.. depending on if there a holster case that comes out later down the road, i have a slip grip mount for my otterbox defender case on my hd2 and its perfect so im sure the slip grip one for the tab with a gel case would fit perfect just worried if i switch cases later down the road then can't use the slip grip anymore.
heres the slip grip

List of Necessary/Optional Accessories for the Nexus 7

Basically, this thread is going to be a list of necessary and optional accessories someone might want for their Nexus 7. It can act as a guide for new Nexus 7 owners in the future and, of course, all of us right now. It would be best, when posting your additions to the list, if you would post a link to where it can be purchased. I will update the thread and post the links under each category after each submission.
Necessary:
1. Cases/Covers:

Wet application vs dry application. Lifetime warranty (and they're good for it). If you've never used a wet application screen protector it would be hard to understand. Of all the advantages, the most important is that you can position it perfectly because it slides until it dries. Also, they don't scratch (drag a key across the 3 for $5 screen protector; you'll get a scratch on the plastic; not so on a wet-apply protector). And if you get dust or a hair under the protector during the application you can get it out; if you don't you won't be able to see it anyways (no bubbles). Oh, last thing: they don't peel at the corners or turn yellow. It's pretty much night and day. Take my word, I though the same way you did until I got one on a sale. Never going back...
BTW- I've never used XO protectors, but I'm tempted to jump since it appears they're the only ones with the nexus7 already. Had nothing but good experiences with clearprotector (and you can always get 50% off with coupon "iwantultra") but they don't have the nexus yet and I want it waiting for me when my tablet arrives....

Yes, by definition. But people who don't use accessories like cases and screen protectors usually end up damaging their devices, so, in my opinion, that makes them necessary. Things like USB-OTG and styli are just there for the people who want to use them. Either way, I feel that this can be a helpful thread for everyone, especially if it gets stickied.
Fair enough ( Though my phone has survived without either and only has a minor dent in the back )

I've used good wet and dry protectors. Wet is basically like you say, but they never feel right to me. I just don't care for the "rubbery" feel. A good dry acrylic protector feels identical to the screen itself, and only has one drawback aside from a bit more work; they do scratch a little. Even that really isn't a big deal (to me) as the scratches are very light and "disappear" when the backlight is on.
Good dry acrylics (like Clarivue for example) don't yellow or peel. Also, while you do need to take a good amount of time and care to make sure no dust or hairs end up under the protector while you're applying it (you can always lift it back up to remove dust or hairs if they do get trapped), once it's done you'll never have to mess with it again.
Did anyone here who already has a Nexus 7 try the PU Leather Folio Stand Case? I'm planning on purchasing it. Does the screen automatically shut off when the flap is completely covering it?

I can pretty much guarantee it will not. The Nexus 7 doesn't have magnetic sensors, so the only method of screen on/off would be a proximity sensor, which I also don't believe it has.
I also question whether it's truly made for the Nexus 7 or not. There's a bunch of Kindle Fire or similar 7" tablet cases floating around that have been re-branded as "Nexus 7" cases. My recommendation is to wait until you can find a Nexus 7 case on an official manufacturer's website and purchase it there.
I just ordered the styluses that were in the OP. Said they will be here between August 1st and August 17th.

Awesome! I was holding out on purchasing it myself because of the wait, but now I'll certainly be buying it. I'll replace my link with your link.
I just bought the case from the above link. I'm still looking for cheap screen protectors (hopefully that come in packs). I don't know if I should purchase it from Hong Kong because that is going to take a while. What do you guys think? I'm hoping to purchase it tonight.
*Does the Nexus 7 come with an already applied "screen protector" film?

Best budget case in the Uk

Hi all... I know this is yet another case thread, but I'd appreciate some Uk specific advice please....
I have a very cheap case off Amazon for my Nexus 7. It is OK I suppose, slightly too big perhaps, but I don't think it will last long and also the sensor lock/unlock does not work. I have pointed this out to the seller and been sent a new, different case but this is also too large for the Nexus 7 and the lock/unlock still does not work.
If any owners in the UK have a case that fits well and locks as it should then please let me know. I don't want to spend much but equally I want a case that works.
Thanks
I've been using the G-Hub case from amazon uk (product code: B008KPVSQC). It's just a cheap pleather case, but the Nexus 7 fits inside snugly and the lock/sleep function works well.
What sort of price range you lookin' for?
I'm looking around the £10-£20 mark, however I just saw the G-HUB for £4.99 incl. delivery (admittedly it is the black/white polka dot version). The main issue is the fit.... the N7 moves around in my current cases, and also the sensor lock/unlock. So fingers crossed this case will do the job.
Thanks

Tab S6 Keyboard Case redesign?

Bought the T-Mobile S6 yesterday and went looking for the keyboard case. The store did not have it.
I noticed all the best buy stores in my area did not have it. Amamzon shows 1-3 months shipping.
Yes I can order online, but I don't see the case available in the shop Samsung app at all.
Just made me think, with all the bad reviews, maybe they are going to release an updated version.
Could just be wishful thinking..lol.

Still available on Samsung UK.
I spoke to someone on their live chat the other day who said there are currently no plans to change it.

Ahh well... Wishful thinking..?
I haven't got mine yet, I held off at first because of the long shipping delays. But the other day it was about $50 usd off on Amazon and "only" 2 weeks to ship so it's on the way now. Design looks fine to me, I think I understand the limitations enough going in but I shall find out soon.
I did just receive my Keyboard case from Samsung.US. It was on back-order for 4 weeks.
I am using this now for 1 week and it sticks really well. No issue at all. I did not have to clean the back of my tablet or anything.
I also removed it several times and it did stick really well. Also after I but it back.
I have no issue at all and am very happy with it.
Maybe they did change something?
So the Amazon delivery estimate has been saying a few months, but it was at my door within a week of ordering, so I would recommend to go ahead and place the order.
As for the case sticking, I've had no problems either. The instructions also clearly state the back needs to be stuck on and left for an hour to adhere properly, so keep that in mind. Also I would clean the surface of tablet just incase before applying unless Its brand new like when I applied mine...
I wish there was a redesign. The body case seems to un-stick randomly and it provides not protection around the sides nor does it keep the screen's edges protected with a "lip".
Otherwise, if someone would make a case that would cover at least 3 sides of the tablet and leave just enough of the side with the keyboard pin connector exposed to attach the keyboard, that would be great. Either that or that side of the tablet is a flap that can be opened to attach the keyboard.
I purchased a $6 silicon case for every day use since I mostly just use the Tab S6 at home sitting in my recliner. But, I wanted the keyboard for those times that I didn't want to swipe everything.
However, the back piece of the keyboard case just doesn't impress me since it's not an easy auto-on/auto-off in any respect. So, I've been considering getting another silicon case that I can attach the keyboard case back cover to, then cut the silicon case just enough to allow the keyboard to attach.
So, what do you guys think? Will the keyboard case back cover's stickyness adhere to silicone better than the back of the tablet?

It looks like the silicon clear case works.

Samsung will never have the integrity to do a redesign for a product accessory, especially a device in their tablet lineup that they don't give two ****s about.
Hello ,
I have the book cover Galaxy Tab S6 by Samsung , it's perfect , finally ! I don't buy cover Samsung for my Tab S4 , Spen outside , it's a big problem ! I buy on Amazon a simple cover to have Spen inside , it's better to go outside with my Tab S4.
