Hi, I’m gonna be showing you how to get Android 4.0, a.k.a. Ice Cream Sandwich, on your device !!
it is to easy almost
IF it is rooted and running CyanogenMod 7+, you can do it
First we’ll go over each “ingredient” of the recipe, I’ll list links to where you can get everything you’ll need
Ok, I know that list looks like a whole lot of stuff, but the whole process can be done rather quickly. In fact, in just a few short minutes, you’ll have that old device up and running in no time, and you’ll make all your friends jealous because you “have ICS” before them. So, we’ll start off with the most simple of the simple. The first few apps we’ll go over are either simple .APK installs or widgets; I’m assuming since you have a rooted phone, you won’t need a whole lot of instruction here, but just in case…
thanks to: MyDroidWorld -rootzwiki.com-omgdroid-AndroidPolice-androidspin
A) wallpapers:
First thing you’ll want to do is grab the wallpapers .APK and install it. Once installed, you can access them by long-pressing your home screen and pressing the — yep, you guessed it — wallpapers button. You’ll see the Ice Cream Sandwich option, which you’ll want to press. Inside you will find 13 of the most vivid, beautiful wallpapers you’ve ever seen, pulled directly from the Galaxy Nexus itself. Go on. Pick one, and let’s move on.
Download: http://www.multiupload.com/TB2TCLWJEA
B) clock widget :
Next thing we’ll do is get your ICS clock widget installed. Again, it’s as simple as a download of the .APK file, a long-press on the home screen, selecting widgets and then the ICS Clock Widget
Download:
Original Cyan Color
ORANGE
YELLOW
GREEN
RED
C) Music Player:
Grab the Music .APK from the link above. Now, you’ll want to remove your current music application before installing the new one. To do so, use Titanium Backup to uninstall the old, and simply install the new. Please note, you may have to go into settings>applications>manage apps and clear your data from the Music app to get it to correctly sync with your Music Beta account, but then you’re all set. Now you have the latest Music app installed on your phone and we’re ready to move on.
Download: Google Music 4.0.1
D)Google+ 2 :
The next step is optional, in my opinion. The reason being is that there’s still a few bugs to be worked out in the new Google+ app, so proceed with caution. I’m sticking with the Market version until a more stable ICS version hits the streets. However, if you’re dying to give it a try, all you have to do is uninstall your current version and replace it with the .APK in the ingredients list.
Download: http://www.multiupload.com/TLHTT1C7YZ
E)Boot Animation:
there may be other methods of switching your boot animation, but for a simple $1.00 — this is, by far, the easiest method you will find. As a bonus
This is definitely an app that should receive some notice from the community. Boot Animation Installer, by davidjr621, could very well be the best thing since the invention of sliced bread
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahyJbuYJfyg&feature=player_embedded
Download: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.davidjr621.boot&feature=search_result
F)sexy!! lock screen:
it’s time to get that sexylockscreen. Check the ingredients list for info on how to get it, and choose which one you want — there’s three colors to choose from. To apply this one, you’re going to have to reboot into recovery, MAKE A BACKUP, and flash the .ZIP file for the mod, like you would for flashing a ROM to your device.
NOTE: Before you flash you need to make sure you have the Ring Lock available in your CM7.1 Rom, by going to Menu, CyanogenMod Settings, Lockscreen, Style Options, Lockscreen Style.

G) Roboto font:
We have a flashable Clockwork zip, along with the font files for your PC. An added bonus has also been tossed in for Samsung phone owners that know about FlipFont.
Source: XDA, 2
Downloads: Flashable Zip | Fonts for PCs | FlipFont apk
H)ICS Launcher:
The developing team, Team Syndicate, has released an app into the market called ICS Launcher. It is designed to not only offer the look but also the feel of Ice Cream Sandwich. I can honestly say that if we had not seen the whole ICS demo and OS up and running, this launcher would have been doubly amazing compared to how you might view it today.
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGL_WGfJAMc&feature=player_embedded
For Download: https://market.android.com/developer?pub=Team+Syndicate
I) sounds:
a flashable .zip with the ones from Ice Cream Sandwich, like the lock, unlock, camera shutter etc....

Nice for all users of an LG Optimus.
Not for all devices are ICS theme ported roms available and not everyone owns a LG Optimus and/or wants to use a custom rom.
So this how to is for these users. Verry simple and clear.
Thanks @ crosswise
can you make it for andro-id rom?

Description
I have literally thrown this together in a few hours, i thought i would play around with the current influx of Eris leaked builds. I just threw some stuff together (from old themes etc) and came up with this.
There's not much to it really (my theme that is ), as all the Eris ROMs are 'ODEX'ed so some of my theming hasn't been all that noticable (mainly because you can't see it ). I really didnt have time to De-Odex them, like i said, i threw this together in a few hours.
THIS ONLY WORKS ON the leaked 2.1 Eris & Legend builds:
- VillianROM 3.3 by nprussell
- Raidroid 1.1 by RaiderX303 (TESTED ON )
- HeroDroid v0.3 by MaXo64
- BeHero 1.3.1 by Benhaam (thanks ngocminhsteel)
- probably most 2.1 with Sense ROMs...
Added the Black HTC - Quietly Brilliant Boot sequence with NO boot sound!

Use the attached Wallpaper for use in SenseUI. In Android it is already default, the one in the screen shots isnt the one in the theme, madness, you will see. Both are attached!
Big thanks all the CREATORS & ORIGINATORS of anything that may of been theirs in some form at some time in the big wide world!!... (u know who u are (especially peeps here at xda)
Enjoy.
KEEP A LOOK OUT.

Worked on over 40 apk's (nothing amazing )
Added the Black HTC - Quietly Brilliant Boot Sequence with NO Sound
Modifications
Rework of Android UI
Customised Keypad dialler
Status Bar Icons from HelloMoto
Over 40 apk's have been modified in some way
Changed the Screen Lock pattern icons
Lots of stuff i cant think of.......
Tested on RaiderX303 build, but will work on the other Eris & Legend Leaked 2.1 builds also, same file structure (for now)
Basically i have edited a lot of stuff, changed a lot stuff and borrowed a lot of stuff (thanx Barina & others ) to make this theme kinda work
FYI
I have used Beautiful Home (PAID = cannot post) here in my screen shots for my Home....i just wanted to show you a comparison of HTC vs Android (not much difference)
The Battery Widget is BatteryLife
The Settings Widgets are Beautiful Widgets
The News Widget is News Buzz
The Audio Widget is Audio Manager
In the HTC screens, the widget is Power Control (a 2.1 OS standard widget)
I am ultimately NOT responsible for anything that occurs from use of the provided theme. Use at your own risk and hopefully enjoy it.
B)
INSTRUCTIONs
Always BACKUP your Hero (Nandroid or whatever you use) BEFORE you attempt this (its not hard, but it helps if u wanna go back
1. Download my SHKvEris_Theme_signed.zip from post 1
2. Copy to the root of your SDCARD
3. Backup you current ROM (Nandroid etc)
4. To get best results, perform a WIPE
5. Re-flash your current ROM, when flashed, don't reboot just yet....
6. Flash my SHKvEris_Theme_signed.zip, when complete, REBOOT
7. You will see the changes immediately....
8. Let it boot fully....
You should then proceed to set-up hero as normal
Enjoy.
If it goes wrong (it shouldn't), NANDROID is always good to get you back to where you were before you decided to do this (Use my advice at the top of this post & step 3 - backup FIRST)
Should be job done otherwise.
RESULT
It won't down load
Because nothing is uploaded yet
Will be up in the next hour or so, thanks!
Just added a Black HTC - Quietly Brilliant Boot Screen with No Sound!
update.zip only too So make those Nandroid backups now
aaaaaaaaaaand............?
in the first post.
Enjoy...
Been running it for a good few hours...no FC's of any nature!! All good!
Laters
ahem... the screenshot is smaller than the size of the heros screen... and contains 28 screenshots...
i think the forum messes up image sizes.
fixed it bro...
you can have full size too, if you prefer.
Hey shokka, great theme as usual! Mind providing a metamorph zip for me?
TIA
shen
Nice theme! Im using it and enjoying it very much.
Is there any way to get the apk file uploaded here of beautiful widgets?
shokka9
This theme can use with BeHero 1.3.1 ( he is build on Legend )
Hi Shen
Erm, no metamorph dude. I hate it, its really unreliable for big themes. It kept freezing part way thru. So i left it alone, didnt have time to look at why.
The update.zip is quick and painless. You know the deal bro
Apologies dude; but why you prefer the metamorph? Its takes long to install the theme, by the time you have done that, you could of flashed the update.zip 10-20 times
@ mikepheng
I won't upload the apk for Beautiful Home, as i PAID for it. Maybe you have something for me? (in return??)
lol.
shokka9, awesome work dude! I can imageine it took you a lot of time... but the results are awesome! I didn't even know that it is possible to skin android so deeply..
I can't apply the update in BeHero 1.3.1 neither in BeHero 1.3.2.
I've tried:
1.
- Full Wipe (data, dalvikvm, ext)
- Flash BeHero 1.3.1
- Flash SHKvEveris
- Reboot
2.
- Full Wipe (data, dalvikvm, ext)
- Flash BeHero 1.3.1
- Reboot
- Flash SHKvEveris
- Reboot
3.
- Full Wipe (data, dalvikvm, ext)
- Flash BeHero 1.3.2
- Flash SHKvEveris
- Reboot
All tries I got same problem.

Hey mate, do you think you could release a few full sized screenshots or screenshots in which you can make out the general theme of the theme?
Cheers,
DB.
Is it possible to get the rosie launcher bar from VillianROM NeXus style theme in this theme??? love ur theme just no longer like the arc style rosie launcher...
@ smiff
No idea bout that, not looked at logcat.....i not personally tested in Benhaams ROM, but one user here reported it working fine ??
@ downbringer
First post, under the image, there is a line of text, click HERE (click it), you can get full size image
@ Pr1nce5st
I tried (a different navbar - same implementation tho), but to be honest would of took me longer to complete them, i dont like arc style either (even tho i skinned it too).
Maybe will update when i get some time in the week.....
Updates:
11.25.2010 - Added a Stock Perception 4 reverter (Reverterator)
11.29.2010 - Massive rework for Perception 5, removed 1.3
12.17.2010 - Update for Perception 9
Introduction
This is a mashup of several different themes and APK kits. I took what I liked from each, made a few tweaks and ended up with this. The makers of the themes mentioned below get all the credit.
Items in the update:
Extended power choices menu - recovery, download, reboot and themed. Based off of CAP_XWJPA_AOSP_lockscreen_extented_power_menu
Android Scribble Boot Animation - GLa'DOS For Perception 5
Theme Mashup - Various elements pulled from the following
---- Dark_Soul[Doc18]
---- BlackFroyo - Samcrow
---- Darknessv2.3 - Reefermattness
---- (2) Manup456_REVOlution_1.2r1
---- Minimalistic Mod - inku
---- smooth-sense_evo1.0.25
---- and alot from Smooth-REVOlution1.1r2_1.0.1_nopercent
HOSTS file - Ad free Angry Birds (damn pigs stealing my eggs)
Battery Options - There are two choices
BlackBatt (SmoothREVOlution/Manup456) - Try BlackBatt, it uses 100 images like other percent mods. Battery life is better when you don't know the percentage of time left

How long would you consider long? I flashed with CW 10 mins ago and am still getting a blank screen. Suggestions? Ohh and flashing on Perception build 4.
2 min max. Thats too long.
What ROM are you using? Did you have any other customizations installed?
I've installed each of these several times and never had this happen.
Perception build 4. I have tried unsuccessfully to flash anything through the ROM manager app. When I flash it just goes to a blank screen. Im going to try and flash by going into recovery mode and let you know the results.
Thanks
update: flashed through CW recovery mode and it went fine. For some reason I can't flash using the ROM manager app. Anyway great theme. Have you tried to flash the a transition over the theme?
Yeah, don't use ROM Manager. It isn't really necessary with the SetiroN i9000 kernels.
Flashing the transitions from DesignGear's thread over this theme, or others, will revert the taskbar and other items to the theme originally packaged with Perception. You will be left with an ugly hybrid.
The changes are in the framework-res\anim folder (XML) and are easy enough to incorporate. I have a build with the bounce method running right now, but it is a bit off-putting. Not sure I like it.
I have a android.policy.jar that enables TapLock for Perception as well. I will be integrating it in the next version. The lock screen will look just like the one in the Doc's ROM images above.
Awesome I really like the taplock better. when should we be expecting the next version, and will we be able to just flash over the current theme?
I'll up it now. I'm dorking around with SetiroN i9000 1.4 kernel, so I won't do much more with it until after the holiday.
It will have the Taplock and Flyin' animations.
How do you uninstall?
Looks great though!

Like the theme and plan on using it. The only change I would like to see is make the notification bar background a little more opaque.

Restore your backup from step 4.
I'm not sure it is customary to include method to revert, but I can work this out later.
If you ignored the red-highlighted step (wink-wink), uninstall Launcher Pro and try plasticdarlow's stock revert. You can delete the bootanimation.zip from system/media to get the creepy eyeball boot screen back. That will leave the HOSTS file which you can revert or leave alone.

You read my mind. I darkened it quite a bit, but the transparency makes it hard to read if the screen underneath is busy. I'll update it in the next revision.
Which battery are you guys using? Part of the reason I made this was to get the BlackBatt back. I loved it when I had an EVO and I haven't seen the detailed version in any other Captivate themes. It seems that the general public likes the circle batt's, so I added it.

Where did you get the launcherpro tweaks? I am interested in seeing what the changes are.
DocRambone made the Launcher Pro update.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8994158&postcount=3852
Just flashed it and it is attractive. Thanks!
So I don't know whats going on and why I can't apply themes at all. I open Rom Manager and press Reboot into Recovery, which of course reboots me into CWM. I go through the options to find the zip file and click apply it. It says applying theme, but thats it then goes back to the normal menu and I do reboot and nothing...
Its not just this theme though, I have tried Dark Soul and others.. So something is going on with my phone. Am I doing everything correct?
EDIT.. Thats what I was doing wrong. I was using ROM manager to reboot into Clockwork Mod instead of just using the powerbutton option of reboot into Recovery.. Completely different menu when I do that and that worked.
Where do I get this Taplock everyone is talking about?
And what is the difference between Taplock and ASOP?

You do not have to ask me if you can port this or use any part of it. You do not have to credit me for any of my work in this theme.
I will not be checking this page frequently, but I will try to answer any questions posted here whenever I update the links. If you want a quicker answer, then I suggest saying something to me on Twitter (@david1171_).
This theme is for the official CM7 Nightly ROMs.
Theme Info

like this theme a lot. Is it possible to use default gingerbread look on the keyboard?

Thanks for this! I was the one you emailed about this theme and the NS, and I'm really glad you made a version for this phone. It works without a hitch, and combined with the ADW theme you made, I now have a really good looking phone =)

Take the LatinIME.apk from /system/app/ of the Nightly build you are using and push/place in /system/app/ on your phone.
Code:
adb remount
adb shell stop
adb push LatinIME.apk /system/app/LatinIME.apk
adb shell reboot
or you can place it there with a file explorer with root access, but I recommend the above method as you stop your phone, so you shouldn't have to worry about any unnecessary force closes.

I may have forgotten to add something when I was bulk building the themes, sorry.

New button and textfield images, not a big difference but something I have wanted to get done for a while.
Fixed DeskClock time text issue in landscape
Added Morph to OP for lockscreen icons for those that do not like completely transparent lockscreen. Please read the instructions and do exactly as they say.
Edit1: Also, I believe with the next release, I am going to restructure the way the links are set up in the OP. As it stands right now, it is an ineffective model that takes up a lot of unnecessary space. As anyone who follows me on twitter knows, when I mention my updates on there, I just link to a folder on media that contains folders of each supported device, then in that folder are the theme files for each device. If I go to just having a link to that main folder containing all the sub folders like I do on twitter, then I do not have to go about updating the links in 9 different threads with each release, and I do not have a space for old download files, since they can be gotten from the same place as the current download file. I think this method will make for a less cluttered OP, and save time overall.

Working fine on 28, but you do lose the screen on/off animations....

I'm not going to bore you with some long ass intro.
DevNull is an AOSP source built ROM, it's minimal, it's superfast and mostly bugfree.
This ROM is mostly a stock AOSP build however certain Android bugs have been fixed and a couple of small mods added.
It is developed by us, i.e. AdamG, thalamus, schiznik and me (see the end of post for more details).
Features
Android v2.3.5 (GRJ90) built from AOSP
Linux kernel v2.6.35.13
Minimal Google apps
Superuser
Busybox
Additional features
Adhoc wifi network support
Advanced power menu with reboot and screenshot options
Download any file type
Enhanced auto backlight mod
Facebook contacts sync
Headset Icon
HSPA Icon
Improved widget picker
SIP calling over 3G
Optional text reflow when zooming
Track change with volume buttons
Various other tweaks and features
Installation
A format is required when first flashing this ROM, however, unless otherwise stated, no wipe is needed to upgrade between versions.
Download update-devnull-xxx-signed.zip to your sdcard storage on your Nexus S
Boot into ClockworkMod Recovery through whatever method you choose (ROM Manager, bootloader, ADB etc...)
Back up your existing installation
[First flash only] Use the volume keys and power button to format /data (factory reset)
Select Install Zip from SD Card
Find the update-devnull-xxx-signed.zip file you downloaded earlier
Scroll through all the No's and hit Yes, install update-devnull-xxx-signed.zip
Wait for the installation to finish
Select Reboot
After initial reboot, reboot a second time and you're all set

will give it a try, thx!
Welcome to the ROM scene. Looks like a very nice ROM and must say one of the most organized ROM explanatory post.
Sounds interesting, will probably have to give this a flash

This ROM reminds me of Oxygen! Especially with the thread format. Looking forward to it.

Yeah I saw AdamG made a ROM for the Galaxy S2 named DevNull. Didn't think Oxygen could be even more "lighter" but this will be interesting
Thanks for the ROM!
Glad to see you still at it python

It's working now
Note to everyone: there was an issue when I built the ROM, so I have to rebuild it entirely. It should take about 20min, so please be patient.
One thing I like about CM is the toggle widgets in the notification panel and non-intrusive notification sound, that is the notification sound does not interrupt my music. Are these two features also found in this ROM? I'm currently on stock ROM for its stability, but I really miss these two features.
Good. Waiting on the update. Will the power controls and oxygen settings from 2.3.4 work w this?

Fixed builds are up.
So far really loving the speed of this rom. Any plans on putting in the theme chooser? Or is there a way too?

Looks like a very nice rom!
Here's a few suggestions:
- Remove wallpapers and Live Wallpapers, they take away space and are not necessary.
- Add some menu to the Settings.apk for these:
-- Power Widgets
-- Torch
-- Battery Percentage
Also, what kernel is this using? I assume Netarchy 1.3.9 CFS.

I created this because there is one floating around here on the forums that is actually a fake jellybean inverted apps flashable .zip this one is completely real. I compiled this file myself and contains the latest G apps and inverted jellybean apps. This should work on all devices but use at your own risk. This is for CM 10 and AOKP JB only.
Disclaimer:
I am not responsible if you do not read this OP and break your phone. If your significant other leaves you because you become more addicted to your phone. If you wake up one day as a black and white speckled jellybean.
I present to you....JustinBean Aroma JB
Directions:
I recommend a full wipe but only if its your first time using JustinBean Aroma.
Install the jellybean ROM of your choice
Open up the JustinBean aroma file within cwm.
Wipe Cache within the JustinBean aroma application. (If you are using a new kernel select option three wipe cache and kernel)
Install what you want
Finish running installer then you have the option to reboot or go back to clockwork mod.
Installer will wait 30 sec before rebooting this is to ensure that everything is installed fully.
Enjoy and please don't forget to use the thank you button.
This is a custom installer that will allow you the user to choose which converted applications you would like to install. The choice now is completely up to you you can pick one to all none it's completely your choice. This is a completely touch process where you touch the screen to choose which you would like to install. You can install the latest launchers you can also install app add-ons such as ES file explorer.
Note:
If you are experiencing touch screen issues please use your volume up and down keys as well as the power button to select your options. Since this is a universal app there is only so much one can do to make it universal for all. You may also press your menu button when inside of the installer for a touch screen config for the app (though this feature is still not guaranteed to work). You will be able to launch my file manager directly from the application while inside clockwork mod this is for advanced users only.
Please do not post my download link or app without prior consent from me

This is awesome, I've been wanting inverted gapps without having to theme my whole rom, thank you so much. I'm going to flash tonight with the new CM10 nightly
update: just finished installing a fresh CM10 with this package and everything went incredibly smooth. I didn't install nearly all of the available inverted apps so I can't say if they all work, but the ones I did pick work like a charm, and the install program was amazing. My only question is, will there be any way to update the apps without losing the inverted-ness? Gmail says it has an update, but I assume if I do it'll break it.

Unfortunately you will have to wait until my person who does the seeming updates his applications and then I update my installers . If the Google play store notification bothers you you can detach the app from the market using titanium backup. Not everything will be in an extremely timely manner due to the amount of applications we are supporting

No it doesn't bother me, mostly because Gmail happens to be one of the apps I choose not to invert. I was just curious. Another quick question, would it be possible to get rid of the contact pictures in SMS without rewriting the entire app? I liked how in stock touchwiz SMS it didn't have those cluttering up the screen.

No sorry I myself and others want our contact pictures the app would have to be completely rewritten from scratch in order for that to happen
Oh I know it's useful and people want it, I was just wondering if there's a way to toggle it but I figured as much about having to be rewritten. Anyway, thanks for all the hard work, inverted apps were pretty much the only thing I was missing from my flashing adventures :good: I hope to see more in the future
