I just installed kwiboo's V3 ICS ROM and I have been re downloading my old apps off the Google web market and some of the apps such as Flash 11 and HBO Go tell me they are not compatible.
Is there anything i can do so i can install these apps other then going back to a stock rom?

No sorry until the app developers make changes for ICS no and Adobe said probably sometime late December for Flash for ICS
This apps need to modified to be able to run on ICS. They will probably be fixed soon.
Thanks for the answer guys, have a related question though. I am not able to add my facebook account to my synced accounts, it appears in the list but when i click it just takes me back to the list of accounts to sync.
I can use the Facebook app just fine other then this issue and can sync other accounts such as Twitter.

ICS syncs with google+ not facebook.
SO you cant Sync Facebook at all? Why does it show up in the list then?

depending on what rom you're using, it's probably because they are Frankenstein'd GAPPS from GB and ICS. once we get official ICS it shouldn't show up on that list.
i read something somewhere.

For facebook contact sync use Friendcaster works flawlessly
I have the same issue with my Galaxy Nexus running stock 4.0.1. Maybe it will work in 4.1? Or it might require an update by Facebook.
Tapatalk app force closes everytime I open...
That's not a question but yes sync for Facebook has been canceled since 2.3.4(right version). I do hope whatever makes it work in cm7 can be implemented here as well

360 Launcher doesn't work with ICS, FYI
Looks pretty nice tho.. MIUI nostalgia..

Most of the apps behave weirdly in ICS. I go back with GB now.

fb contact sync did indeed break sometime during the GB releases and their are claims that this will be repaired in ICS. It is my understanding that this is an issue on facebooks side and not an intentional block from google so there may be hope. also yes there are many many apps that do still glitch with ICS everything from small graphical glitches to constant FC, keep in mind currently only one phone officially supports ICS and as new phones enter the market these issues will be quickly resolved by their respective developers in most cases.
just a final thought, if you are currently running ICS you are an early adopter it is to be expected that things won't always run perfectly, just give them time or go back to another rom until the bugs are worked out.

Now that I updated, I have 2 facebook accounts in my accounts tab in settings.
Also, I can use the app, but when I click things it just takes me to the mobile facebook page in the browser. I can do that on my own!
I clicked don't sync as i feared that would happen. I did read on the sync page that u can at anytime change ur setting for sync.
Also read the engadget review comments and seen that most will just bring u to the browser. Pointless update to me.
Does ur.phone at the same as before.

Facebook still hasn't implemented global notifications, which makes this update completely worthless. The UI update is nice, but I'd rather have functionality at this point (coming from a Blackberry that is archaic compared to media usage.. I find this a bit ironic).
The sync feature is hit and miss as well. You will find two options in your sync options for FB now. One of them, even if left off, is a placeholder for your log in information for the app. Turning the sync on will just load another set of linked contacts, most likely slowing down Samsung's OS even more. I checked it out and then removed all of the links by turning it off (nice touch, FB). The feature will be nice for people who load a stock 2.2 ROM on their phone (when available).
useless and horrible update, read the thread about it:
http://androidforums.com/android-applications/141091-facebook-ver-1-3-now-out-3.html
I updated before I read this thread and now facebook is killing my battery.

But what about the contact sync issue?
I had mine to sync every 2 hours. Each time it would sync'd, it added another link to the contact. So, after 6 hours, I had 3 more links to my contacts that had Facebook.
I turned the sync off in the Facebook app, and used the sync with the phone. I have a Captivate and for some reason it has two different Facebook options in the account sync settings which do different things.
FB for android is horrible... man, I thought FB for Blackberry was bad.
Has anyone else noticed that on the News Feed it doesn't even show 1/3 of the posts? Also, why does it take you to your browser when you click on any link to a notification or comment in the app?
I ended up turning on SMS notifications for facebook because the Android FB UI is garbage
not only that, it synced my contacts so many times i had 8-10 seperate listings in my contact list for everyone in my phonebook that has facebook.
so i removed that using Titanium and im good to go.
Does FB synchronize photos for you guys? I'm talking to friends with other androids and they say it does... not so for me. Wondering if its the Captivate or my settings.
Also, when you click on "View Profile" when looking at a contact does it take you to their profile or yours? When I click it it takes me to my profile instead of the person's.
I cant add my facebook account to my phone to allow it to sync with my contacts...
I have recently reverted my phone back to stock from using roms for about 4 months. I am able to add my Gmail account no problem but then i click on the facebook account and it reverts back to the account page. I was able to add my facebook account before but no luck anymore... any ideas
I figured this is the place to ask it!
Thankyou.
I have enabled apps in the facebook page as well under privacy settings and it still does nothing and help would be greatly appreciated .
Cheers
Facebook for android is the worst app I have ever installed, when is not a thing is other, alpha versions of other apps I have installed have less bugs than it...
you may need to update the facebook app before you can add your facebook account.
Facebook for android is terrible.
Might I recommend Friend Caster? Designed much better, with popup notifications and it will sync all your contacts flawlessly. It's on the market.
Give it a whirl. You won't be sorry.

I'm running the ICS ROM by st.matt in the developer forum, and the major issue I'm having that nobody else seems to have mentioned is a lack of facebook contact syncing. I have the facebook app installed, but none of my contacts are getting their pics updated, and I can't seem to add the facebook account to my accounts list.
Is this something anyone else is seeing? Is this already known, but I just missed it?
it is a known problem
Well it isn't a game breaker that Facebook contacts aren't working.
But yes, I have the same problem, but I doubt that it is one that'll persist for long

hmmm..i thought you will need facebook for sense for sycn to happen, since ics alpha was aosp, so i think it won't be able to happen..
Yeah facebook only syncs with sense...
If you're a stickler for contact tidiness, and are struggling with no Facebook contact sync, you could always export your Facebook contacts to your PC and import them to your gmail account and sync them that way.
Although they won't updated should their details change, it's an alternative.

Somehow, I am not able to get to the screen where you choose to sync your facebook contacts like when you first get that after installing a rom/wiping data.
I can not add a facebook account through accounts and sync. Deleting all facebook data doesn't help it. Please help!
if you open the fb app and go into settings, there's an option to sync contacts
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
If you can't add an account, it might be because you used Froyo's method of app2sd. Move the app back to the "internal" memory and see if you can add an account back (you may need to reboot for it to show up in the account selection section).

There is no such option in my FB App either.
Is there a solution for re-syncing the contacts?

If that isn't the case, you may not have enough freespace on the device to store any info...
That weird, for me when I go into settings and scroll down I have this.
but just follow bassmadrigal instructions above.

That was just the setting I didn't have. Don't worry anymore, though, I solved it by using an external application. Furthermore, I would just like to say I do not run ICS any longer. I currently run samuaz CM7 ROM and will continue using it until all the major bug and stability issues with the current ICS builds are ironed out.
ICS really is a great ROM and it's gonna be a tough choice between choosing an AOSP ICS build or a cyanogenmod AOSP ICS build. I really "dig" cyanogenmod so that's probably what I'll look forward to.

I didn't use app2sd or something like that. So I think the app is in the internal memory.
And my phone is just 3 days old so it should have enough space.

If just some aren't working, then overall, your app is working, it just isn't always able to find the right person to sync it with. Just find that facebook contact, then click on their picture to get the little popup with email and their contact card. Click on the contact card and select edit contact, then use the menu button and click on join. Find the contact in your normal contact and select that person. This will join the contacts.

Sorry I didn't made it clear: There are some Fb contacts missing, not the link between my contacts and Fb.
So it isn't possible for me to link them, because they don't exist
Is this with the stock facebook app? Because I know if you use third-party ones like Friendcaster, if they blocked the app, they won't show up. If it is the stock app, I really don't know. I haven't seen that issue at all.
So I installed the Google Play edition ROM, from bigxie. And since I can't post in that forum with less than 10 posts, I have to ask here.
I'm unable to get my Facebook contacts to sync into my phone. I've tried removing the account, and even reinstalling Facebook. I was wondering if anyone else was having this issue.

use haxsync
I'd kinda like to get the phone working the way it's supposed to work rather than downloading an app for it.
Facebooks contacts, at least for me, have never synced with vanilla android. Only way is to use a third party app.

As notown said above, you have to use an asp to sync contacts. Haxsync is my app of choice
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
FB & Google haven't played well together (on purpose) since either 2.3 or 4. Haxsync works perfectly to get around the contact sync issue.
So yeah, you're not "using an app to get the phone to work correctly", you're using an app to fix Facebook being a bunch of jackasses. It's "working correctly" by not syncing in the first place.
Oh alright. I just figured since they synced in Sense they would sync without it.
