BACKGROUND
---------------------------------
Last year I made RZRecovery for the original Droid. It was a huge success, since then I have been asked to port to other devices. So here,
about 1 year later (after a lot of work... Remember, I *do not* know C), I have done just that. This will bring all the features of the old
RZR plus a few new ones including the epic rom.tgz install format from the days of yore to any device. I have built this recovery
specifically to handle all devices without the need for a recompile (except for Tegra2-based devices, they have to be recompiled because of
some libc bugs). I have made img files for a few devices to start with:

v2.2.6 RC4 Released: Oct/01
Rare Superuser problem when tar backups were enabled (disabled by default) was fixed.
Converting partitions between ext3 and ext4 without data loss now correctly calculates the space needed to successfully complete the operation
New option: check and optionally repair the file system on your sdcard (fat32)
Removed duplicate format cache option inside the format menu (wipe cache does the same)
When formatting fat32 it will now save your 4ext.prop settings and restore them afterwards
Changed partitioning of the sdcard to not use LBA mode for new fat32 partitions as requested by Ghiki
Added new size option (128mb) to the partitioning menu per request
Parted is no longer used to format fat32 in the partition menu
-> This solves a bug where sometimes the creation of the fat32 file system failed and produces better quality results
4EXT Recovery themes should now stay when formatting /system or flashing new roms
New option: format /sdcard fat32
New 4EXT Recovery Control API because I'm forced to drop "extendedcommand" (see App for the reason why)
enables file names and directories to include spaces for installations
calculates needed space to complete a full or advanced backup at the beginning of the backup.
This ensures that you are not left with a non working backup.
Size for recovery greatly reduced
New 4EXT Recovery Control Features
Please see www.4ext.net for more.
Fix permissions
Calculate real values for the space needed to create a new full or advanced backup
Advanced Backups: While you are selecting / deselecting partitions, it will display and update the currently needed space to complete that custom backup set.
As an example, the following would be possible to do in just one session:
Restore a backup, set to create a backup / advanced backup before the restore,
format all partitions with a file system of your choice before the restore process starts,
flash additional zip files afterwards, fix permissions and select to stay inside recovery or to reboot automatically once all actions are complete.
Features: Use 4EXT Recovery Control or Recovery Updater for complete Changelogs and Known issues!
not all features may be relevant for all devices
Displays additional information:
Identifies your current rom and displays its name
Current filesystems on your partitions
Free space remaining of all of your volumes
Current battery charge level
Backup | Restore:
Correctly calculates free space needed to complete a backup ( version > 2.2.6 RC4 )
Tar backups (can be switched on or off)
Complete CWMR5 compatibility
All Backups you create will be named after your currently installed Rom for easier identification.
Never unwillingly get "downgraded" to EXT3 again
Always restores backups using the file systems you HAD on your partitions at the time of creation!
-> all partitions formatted with ext4 at that time, will be restored to ext4. The same is true for ext3.
You can manually change any existing Backup to ext4 or ext3
-> so that after a restore, all partitions and up with the file system you wanted!
Advanced Backup: backup only a single partition
Convert any of your partitions to EXT4 or EXT3 without data loss.
Formatting:
When you wipe or format it will always use the same file system you currently have.
-> but you can change that
When you format ext4 it will always create an aligned file system
Correctly identifies unformatted sd-ext partitions
-> if it finds one it displays a warning and suggests you may format them by visiting the 4EXT menu
Filesystem check and repair option in advanced menu
Partitioning:
Alignment check of your partitions
Full support for up to 2 sd-ext partitions + swap (Backup/restore/format/convert, fsck, et.c.)
(RE-) Partition your sdcard for sd-ext without removing your fat32 partition.
All partitions created with 4EXTRecovery will be perfectly aligned to 4k
Installing:
Integrated md5sum checking option
Themes:
Customize all colours used throughout recovery
Use your own icons, background images, progress bars.. more to come.
Assign different backgrounds to different menu categories (version >= 2.1.2)
Create a flashable zip for others to flash your theme.
Menus:
Most popular menu items rearranged
Format menu
Power Menu + option to reboot into bootloader
Less "No's" in confirmation dialogues
Changed Advanced Restore: first select what you want to restore, then select the backup
-> Useful for restoring from "Advanced Backups"
4ext.prop:
Configuration file on your sdcard where you can set options to be used by 4EXTRecovery
Change all settings conveniently with 4EXT Recovery Control
Many more options to come
Share your settings / themes by packing your config into a flashable theme
Other stuff:
USB Storage Autostart (must be switched on)
Mount usb storage exposes all partitions on your sdcard to the os (not just fat32)
-> you could even partition your sdcard from your PC while connected via USB
Switch haptic feedback on/off
You don't need to reboot recovery if you transferred a file to show up in the install menu.
-> This bug affected only some users with either CWMR or previous versions of 4EXT.
Button backlights (Desire S, Desire HD and Incredible S only)

Download:
All downloads are now available through 4EXT Recovery Updater. It's free, no ads, no tracking, no nothing, don't worry
.. and of course via 4EXT Recovery Control
This ensures that your downloads are ok by automatically verifying md5sums and that known issues and changelogs are easily accessible
It also notifies you when there are any new critical bugs found
Recovery images will be uploaded for download soon too, but they can also be acquired easily by using Updater or Control.
You can for example just download a recovery.zip containing the image. The download will be automatically verified for correct md5sums!
4EXT Recovery Control
Free version: Recovery Updater
Fully featured version: 4EXT Recovery Control
For a list of its many features, visit www.4ext.net
Some examples :
Flash as many zip files you want in one go
Automatically calculate and display the md5sums of all zip files you are going to flash
Check your backups' health to ensure they will restore later when you need them, by verifying their md5sums!
Optionally, but highly not recommended:
If md5sums don't match but you REALLY NEED that backup BADLY, you might want to restore it anyway.
You can you this app to fix the md5sums of a given backup to "forcefully" restore it!
Calculate real values for the space needed to create a new full or advanced backup
Advanced Backups: While you are selecting / deselecting partitions, it will display and update the currently needed space to complete that custom backup set.
Identifies and adds your romname so you don't need to type so much when chosing a meaningful name for your backup
As an example, the following is possible to do in just one session:
Restore a backup, set to create a backup / advanced backup before the restore,
format all partitions with a file system of your choice before the restore process starts,
flash additional zip files afterwards, fix permissions and select to stay inside recovery or to reboot automatically once all actions are complete.
Much, much more! See www.4ext.net

Yes, it doesn't work with m-deejay's rom either without that recovery.
But I don't find that so strange.. when you format ext4 in your updater script and later in the script mount the partition ext4, it wouldn't be possible, since the kernel couldn't mount a ext4 partition..
But with m-deejay's kernel as "recovery kernel" it works
When could we test your rom?

Great!! Very excited
Updated, please update!
Im a bit confused now...
Can you flash Android Revolution HD 1.0.1 ROM that needs EXT4 support with this?
I thought that you need ClockworkMod Recovery 3.2.0.0 and not 3.0.2.6 that comes with Rom Manager v4.3.0.1.
Have i understod this corect that "3.2.0.0_EXT4_unofficial_revB.zip" works with Rom Manager v4.3.0.1?
I ask because in another thread the say that Rom Manager will never work with EXT4 CMR.

Previously I wanted to be able to restore an ext3 nandroid with this recovery version, but this resulted in recovery formatting /data and /cache Ext3 too (when invoked by the user through the menu. Formatting ext4 through updatescripts when installing roms worked fine).
But because many people use that feature it would mess things up if they wiped when they had an EXT4 rom installed.
This version is now EXT4 only.. so you can wipe, format, backup/restore any ext4 rom. But it should be incompatible with ext3 backups/roms.. I'll test it once again, but I don't think it will work.. so you'd need to revert to the official clockworkmod recovery when you decided you wanted to restore a nandroid from an EXT3 rom...

Although I don't understand that..
if it#s just a dd if=bla.img of=/dev/bla it shouldn't matter at all and the recovery shouldn't even be aware which fs it is... strange.. testing again now, maybe something else didn't work when trying first.

hahaha, don't know what went wrong the first time..
Ok, confirmed it doesn't matter.. but now the problem would be if someone reverted back to an ext3 rom and then later would use the wipe function.. testing that now.. my guess is that recovery would format them ext4 now which would be NOT good, to say the least
I might be off base here, but doesn't the update script of the ROM chose the fs in the format, so it doesn't matter what the wipe does, the update script changes it anyway?

Okay this works!
I guess it's because ext3 is partially forward compatible to ext4 when ext4's extents feature isn't used..
From Wiki:
"The ext3 file system is partially forward compatible with ext4, that is, an ext4 filesystem can be mounted as an ext3 partition (using "ext3" as the filesystem type when mounting). However, if the ext4 partition uses extents (a major new feature of ext4), then the ability to mount the file system as ext3 is lost."
So, as it seems, I haven't found any bugs yet, you can do anything with it..
Updating first post
Updated to using stable ClockworkMod Recovery 3.0.2.8 since Mike1986 reported that there might be issues with sd ext on 3.2.0.0

Download
All downloads are available through 4EXT Recovery Updater.
It's free, no ads, no tracking, no nothing, don't worry
..and of course via 4EXT Recovery Control
This ensures that your downloads are ok by automatically verifying md5sums and that known issues and changelogs are easily accessible
When you install or download a recovery via the app it makes sure that your recovery config is correctly set up.
It allows to automatically setup your time zone for recovery.
You can use it to get notified about updates regarding your recovery version
You can configure it to get notified in case any critical bugs have been discovered of the recovery version you currently have installed.
It allows me to update known issues/changelogs immediately and to quickly pull a newly released version if there were reports about critical bugs
You can also use it to just download a recovery.zip containing the image. The download will be automatically verified for correct md5sums!

By default the app also saves the recovery.img you flash on your sdcard,
so you can use it to flash the recovery via fastboot in case you need to do that one day.
If you somehow lost those files, there's a direct download for a version you can flash via fastboot.
4EXT Recovery Control
Free version: Recovery Updater
Fully featured: Recovery Control
For a list of its many features, visit www.4ext.net
Some examples :
Very easy to use, but also includes an extensive set of features available via "advanced mode"
Comfortable configure all settings of recovery
Calculate the space needed to create a new full or advanced backup
So you can make sure the backup will succeed before even rebooting into recovery.
Advanced Backups: While you are selecting / deselecting partitions, it will display and update the currently needed space to complete that custom backup set.
Identifies and adds your romname so you don't need to type so much when chosing a meaningful name for your backup
When you restore a backup, the app does the md5sum check instead of the recovery
This ensures that you know whether the restore process will succeed before even rebooting into recovery
You can you this app to fix the md5sums of a given backup

Restore a backup, set to create a backup / advanced backup before the restore,
format all partitions with a file system of your choice before the restore process starts,
flash additional zip files afterwards, fix permissions and select to stay inside recovery or to reboot automatically once all actions are complete.

How to make use of 4EXT Recovery Touch from within updater-scripts:
Since Beta 1.0.0.3 Beta 4 you can do the following:
identify whether the user is running 4EXT Recovery Touch or not (to use or not to use the following commands)
make use of the native yes/no dialogue (confirm / cancel buttons)
prevent recovery from redrawing the screen ( in case you need to use your own 3rd party interactive binary )

To identify 4EXT Recovery Touch:
Code:
if getprop("ext.edition") == "ng" then
<your code>
endif;
To use the native confirm dialogues:
Code:
ui_print("4ext: show_yesno"); # <-- recovery will pause your script and display "yes / no" buttons.
run_program("/sbin/sleep", "2"); # <-- for safety since the above is executed asynchronous
#check the return value by calling:
if getprop("ext.confirm") == "yes" then
<yourcode>
endif;
To prevent recovery from redrawing the screen ( if you want to use an external binary that needs to occupy the screen and get the focus )
Code:
ui_print("4ext: disable_scrn_update");
# don't forget to enable it again after your yesno binary or graphical installer is finished, by calling:
ui_print("4ext: enable_scrn_update"); #otherwise the recovery will appear to be frozen as it won't update the screen anymore.

Thanks maxx! This is awesome! Now I have one more thing to show off to my friends while they're still using text-based recovery.
BTW, when showing a long list (e.g. folder list), it takes a while to scroll to the end to find the back arrow button to go back. I'm sure you can fix it. Thanks again!

CWM 6.0.4.8 Advanced Edition / PhilZ Touch Recovery 6.41.6
PhilZ Recovery is a CWM Advanced Edition that adds all the features you could ever miss in CWM.
It is a well proven recovery for many phones.
Please give your feedback, what works, and any bug you could encounter.
Read the features at the Main thread, and check if you are missing something.
To take a screen shot, just slide left!
And don't forget to read about powerful aroma file manager integration and double-tap shortcut (in FAQs).
How to install recovery?
From download link below, you'll get a 'recovery.img' file. Put that recovery.img file at root directory of your
sdcard. (means not in any folder)
Now, go to terminal emulator.
Give command:
Code:
su
You'll be asked to grant superuser permissions, grant it.
Now, give the following command:
Code:
flash_image recoveryonly /sdcard/recovery.img
Wait until it executes the command (4-5 seconds), it is installing the recovery.
Now, normally reboot to recovery and enjoy new recovery!

:FAQs:
Q: Wanna know about Aroma File manager?
Visit the aroma file manager main thread for more info---> Aroma file manager main thread
Aroma file manager is a touch file manager which can be used while in recovery. It has options for copy, paste, delete,
change permissions and many others. Also, it has a Terminal inside. So, if you forgot to give correct permissions to any
file you can do that directly from recovery. This file manager has got many themes, font, icons, etc. options and it's UI
is fully customizable.
Q: How to start this File manager in Recovery?
Rename the downloaded file to 'aromafm.zip'.
Create a folder 'aromafm' inside 'Clockworkmod' folder on your sdcard.
Now, move that 'aromafm.zip' file to the 'aromafm' folder.
We're ready now, when you want to use it in recovery just double tap anywhere OR go to "philz Settings" and select
"Aroma File Manager" and it will start up.
If you also want to browse /data, /system and /sd-ext then mount them in the "mounts & storage" option in recovery.
Q: Problems with Aroma file manager startup?
After doble-tapping OR selecting 'Aroma file Manager' option under 'philz settings' if recovery gives error: 'aromafm.zip
not found at /clockworkmod/aromafm' then, wait for 4-5 seconds and again select 'Aroma file Manager', because it maybe
busy mounting sdcard.
If still doesn't work, you've made mistakes in steps mentioned in first post, please do again carefully.
Q: Does your phone every time reboots to recovery?
This happens very rare when you flash the recovery using any bad app or via any wrong (not proper) method. What you can do
is:
-If you've made a backup of your current ROM then just restore only it's "boot" and then select 'reboot to system'.
OR
-You don't have a backup? Then just flash the ROM which you are using currently again and wipe 'dalvik-cache'. Then reboot
to system. Booting process will take time.
NEW: Now you can enjoy the full version of the recovery! Thanks to @Phil3759 for uploading necessary commits for armv6. And, everything is expected to be bug-free. Please report the bug here if you find any.
GALAXY MINI GOES OFFICIAL NOW!!!!!!
You'll now find Galaxy Mini in the officially supported devices list at the Main thread.

You mean, you are always rebooting to recovery and not to your rom?
If so, it is a problem of your device configuration by your device developer because this happens also in Jenkins recovery. This is not a fault of my recovery.
Now, you can restore boot of a backup (if you made any) or you can install your current rom again and wipe dalvik cache and you'll be back normal.
But i have renamed the zip and it does not work. And i tried another ROM but it all ways reboots to recovery.
Can someone else confirm that it always reboot to recovery even after re-installing a rom?

I confirm it. I even flashed another ROM and it still reboots to recovery instead of system.
Aroma FM works, but there is something I noticed: If you tap internal sd or external sd, they are empty, you have to go to storage/sdcard00 to get to your sd card. Can you somehow link the external sd to the sd card?
Thanks everyone for reporting....
I'll try to fix this when I get time...
ast00,
Internal sd and External sd will be empty because they are kept there for devices having two different memories. There should be an option: sdcard directly on the root directory. Please see carefully.
Good news:
My friend @chraso gave me hint about the problem. There was a very small problem with tags, I'll be fixing and making updated recovery today/tomorrow. Will also update recovery sources.
First post updated with newer version, v6.22.1 (18.03.2014) and also made changes so that you can boot into ROM after installing it. Hope it's fixed.
Also added some FAQs.
Please post back the Results after using it.
Please give feedback on swipe-touch. Is right/left swipe working? And please post your opinion on the poll above, whether you like swipe touch or it just makes things complex or you just don't like it.

Which ROM are you installing?
Is the install successful?
What procedure you follow? This is important, please tell me. Do you use 'wipe to install a new rom'?
Does not work for me either, it reboots to recovery and i noticed that to make aroma work i must first install the zip from recovery and then it works OK .
not that

Bro,
please read FAQs, this is a problem of your device sources. For solution, see FAQs.
After that, please give me broader report.
You di not ask the right question:
Does this work for someone , anyone please confirm.

Would like some help asap. So i installed the Philz recovery. Took a nandroid backup. And then choose the option clean to install a new Rom. Cleaned dalai cache. The man flashed the new Rom. And then a bootloop occurred with a new Rom. This is quite common to me so tried different combinations to access the recovery. And think I found it, it is volume up and power button. But when I click them instead of going to the recovery unfortunately it goes to bootlogo till a press these keys I notice the bootloop occurs otherwise it just opens and shows the bootlogo. Any help? I have the nandroid backup in the SD card. But since am not able to access the recovery am not able to do anything as of now. So what should i do? Push through add? Would be happy if you could help me.

Installations:
Important:
Prior to any install make sure to backup your existing ROM. (TWRP backup?) if you wish to backup your SMS/Contacts there are a bunch of apps that can do it... (MobilePro is an example)
Backup your IMEI just in case... (Use MobileUncle or similar)
If you chose to install - your warranty is void.
I am not responsible for any damage that may be caused by this ROM.
Did you make a backup? - Save your backup on a PC...
First time transition to MIUI8 requires re-partition of the phone to increase system size.
you will need a different recovery to finalise the process.
1. Copy the Repartition zip file to phone.
2. Copy the Philz recovery to your phone.
3. Install Philz recovery.
4. Reboot into recovery
5. Install Re-partition zip (It will take several minutes - it needs to format the partitions)
6. if format is not running - reboot to recovery and manually format the partitions (System, Data, Cache). - DO NOT FORMAT other partitions.
6.a. - check to see where the SDCARD data directory is mounted(data or data), if it is the data - change it back to data in the philz recovery, otherwise - upgrades will not work in TWRP.
7. using SP-Flash tools or another way, install the TWRP 2.8.7 recovery again.
8. Restore your backup.
9. Boot the phone.
10. Copy the MIUI8 install file to phone.
11. Click on the 3 dots
12. Chose select update file --> select your copied file.
13. Phone will Reboot and install.
If the above version does not work, you will need to use SP-Flash tools to install the EBR1, EBR2 files in the zip.
Then continue from step 6 (Format partitions)
if coming from another rom/ Fresh install
as ususal... - I recomend a total wipe, but it is not a must....
Wipe Cache, Dalvik, Data, System, custpack.
Install Rom from internal memory
reboot.
Wait patiently - it will take 3-4 minutes on the 1st boot.
To update (existing Miui Rom):
Copy rom to SD Card
Open updater app.
Click on the 3 dots
Chose select update file --> select your copied file.
Reboot
*** Make sure to disable Automated OTA... as it is based on Redmi Note 3G MTK, and I can't promise to keep this forever...
Recovery:
I used TWRP 2.8.7.0 for TCL S960
Other recoveries:
CWM - Link
TWRP 2.6.3 - Link
If you like my work feel free to buy me beer Donation link
Known Issues:
Default theme - some icons are missing - Use another theme icon set...
When making full wipe - unable to login to MiAccount - Install 6.1.28 version --> login, then update to latest.
TouchAssistant APK exceeds the space of System partition - I removed it, you can install it manually after the rom installs. - Link solved after repartition.
31/3/16 - Additional settings FC - Fixed.
12/05/2016 - Fixed wallpaper carousel FC when unlocking device

Try using an older version like 6.1.28, then log in to miui, then update without full wipe.
I have reported this to miui, it is under discussion...

Bricking my phone
Dear Hellfreezover,
I tried to install your ROM, but I bricked my phone.
(I installed ROM before several times, I never made mistake, but now I did it.)
When I used SP flashtool I selected "Firmware upgrade" option instead of "Download only" option (I never did it before) and I started to install TWRP recovery but I got error message.
Now I can not use my phone, but I know that I can be repairable just I need important files....
...these all files or just some of them:
- PRELOADER
-MBC
-EBR1
-UBOOT
-BOOTIMG
-RECOVERY
-SEC-RO
-LOGO
-EBR2
-CUSTPACK
-MOBILE_INFO
-ANDROID
-CACHE
-USRDATA
Now I get this error message when I try to update the recovery.
Could u send me these files? Or could you link me URL where I can find these files?
Sorry for disturbing, I shame on me, I did ROM install before without mistake, but now I screwed up...
Regards,
Peter (Hungary)
I am not at home now,
I have the files...
You can get searching TCL multi language rom 70 languages and download it through SP flash tools, then, repartition and finally the rest....

Thank you very much, I could unbrick my mobile! :good: :fingers-crossed: :highfive:
I tried to upgrade my ROM according to your instructions, but I could not do it.
What I did:
1. Unbrick my mobile with your files.
2. I copied your MIUI8 ROM, Repartition and Philz zip files to my mobile.
3. In SP Flash I downloaded Philz.zip what contains recovery.
4. I rebooted my mobile in recovery mode.
5. I installed the Repartition zip. (...but I think it was unnecessary, because I did it when I unbricked my mobile.)
6. I tried to reboot my mobile into reocvery mode, but it was not available (after repartition.)
7. I had to download your TWRP 2.8.7.0 recovery to my mobile via SP-Flash tool.
8. I tried to reboot, but same situation: this recovery also was not available.
9. I had to download other 2.6.3 or 2.7.0 TWRP recovery to my mobile.
10. I could reach recovery from that point.
11. I installed your MIUI 8 rom, and it was successful according to message.
12. In spite fo this the ROM can not start: "Idol X+" is appearing and go away and black screen is flashing without logo or sound.
What do I do in wrong way?
Otherway, before I unbricked my mobile and after also I tried to upgrade my ROM to your MIUI 8 version in different way.
Then I had different problem: when I did the uploading of your ROM into my exist differnet rom (like offical ROM, LeWa ROM or modded MIUI 5 rom) in recovery mode the installation was finally failed, unsuccessful: "/data" directory can not reachable/readable/writeable or somehting else.
(I have screenshot, I will share.)

Peter

Hi,
I think what you missed is the format of system, data, cache - after the installation of re partition, in Philz recovery.
also - you need to verify that your SD-Data is mounted correctly (sometimes in Philz it adds a 0, and then you will not find files there...
You need to change the mount location before you reboot recovery.
Sorry I have no pictures for this, but it is in the menu...
if the above does not work
Try extracting EBR1, EBR2 from repartition file, install them with Philz recovery through SP-Flash tool.
reboot into recovery --> format data, system, cache - check again where SD is mounted...
Reboot recovery
Install rom - if works great if not:
Install TWRP 2.8.7
Place new ROM and install
let me know if this works for you.
The 1st install will take a few minutes until you will see something on the phone...

Yes, u have right: during procedure, before I would install the MIUI 8 rom in TWRP 2.8.7.0 the SD-DATA is unmounted, internal storage is 0.
What can I do to reach it again?

you can change the mount location in Philz recovery...
6.a. - check to see where the SDCARD data directory is mounted(\data or \data\0), if it is the \data\0 - change it back to \data in the philz recovery, otherwise - upgrades will not work in TWRP.
I followed your instruction, please see my notes and check my pictures:
1. Copy the Repartition zip file to phone.
OK!
2. Copy the Philz recovery to your phone.
OK!
Please see it, I copied everything to my phone from Window 10, so these files copied into /data directory:
http://kepfeltoltes.hu/160717/factory_directory_www.kepfeltoltes.hu_.jpg
3. Install Philz recovery.
I did it from factory recovery:
http://kepfeltoltes.hu/160717/IMG_1596_www.kepfeltoltes.hu_.jpg
(You can not see the "Philz*.zip" file because of bad quality of picture, but belive me, it is.
4. Reboot into recovery
OK!
5. Install Re-partition zip (It will take several minutes - it needs to format the partitions)
I did it:
http://kepfeltoltes.hu/160717/IMG_1597_www.kepfeltoltes.hu_.jpg
6. if format is not running - reboot to recovery and manually format the partitions (System, Data, Cache). - DO NOT FORMAT other partitions.
6.a. - check to see where the SDCARD data directory is mounted(data or data), if it is the data - change it back to data in the philz recovery, otherwise - upgrades will not work in TWRP.
I did not need the format, because your Repartition.zip was installed successfully, and format was done by Repartition.zip as you requested:
Begin:
http://kepfeltoltes.hu/160717/IMG_1598_www.kepfeltoltes.hu_.jpg
End:
http://kepfeltoltes.hu/160717/IMG_1599_www.kepfeltoltes.hu_.jpg
7. using SP-Flash tools or another way, install the TWRP 2.8.7 recovery again.
Because of your Repartition procedure all files were deleted from /data directory so I had to upload TWRP 2.8.7.0 recovery from SP-Flash tool to mobile:
http://kepfeltoltes.hu/160717/Recovery_www.kepfeltoltes.hu_.jpg
8. Restore your backup.
(I do not know what is it...maybe I make a mistake here. I skiped this step.)
9. Boot the phone.
OK.
10. Copy the MIUI8 install file to phone.
Negative. There is no operation system, because Repartition.zip formatted /data and /system directory.
Furthermore, Internal storage is 0 from the Repartition.zip is completed.
http://kepfeltoltes.hu/160717/IMG_1603_www.kepfeltoltes.hu_.jpg
11. Click on the 3 dots
Negative.
12. Chose select update file --> select your copied file.
I had to use OTG-USB cable and chose the MIUI 8 rom in TWRP 2.8.7.0
But from now due to unavailable /data, /cache / etc - internalt storage is 0 - the installation however started, but failed.
Begin:
http://kepfeltoltes.hu/160717/IMG_1604_www.kepfeltoltes.hu_.jpg
End:
http://kepfeltoltes.hu/160717/IMG_1605_www.kepfeltoltes.hu_.jpg
13. Phone will Reboot and install.
Negative.
Where do I make mistake?

I had to use OTG-USB cable and chose the MIUI 8 rom in TWRP 2.8.7.0
But from now due to unavailable /data, /cache / etc - internalt storage is 0 - the installation however started, but failed.

First you missed your previous MIUI backup...
but that is not the issue...
I would recommend formatting the /system, /data, /cache partitions - even though that it shoes success...
Then reboot recovery (to PHILZ)
Make sure your SDCARD mount is without the "0"...
Try to flash ROM using ADB sideload, in PHILZ touch...
if it doesn't work, try installing with TWRP 2.6.3 recovery.
I shared what I did on my phone and it worked...
If all the above fails - try installing EBR1, EBR2 from SP-Flash tool, then Recovery (Philz), Format cache, system, data, then install rom through PHILZ or TWRP...
Somebody could install this rom as Hellfreezover described?

Dear Hellfreezover!
I am sure, that you are advanced or professional developer and you have more experience about mobiles and ROMS, but now, I think what you have written in instructions is different as you have done it in real life.
...or someting is wrong with ROMs.
So...
I tried to follow your instruction several times and when I have reached that point that there were no error message at the beginning of installation of ROM, finally, it was also unsucessfull:
- begining: http://kepfeltoltes.hu/160717/IMG_1592_www.kepfeltoltes.hu_.jpg
- ending: http://kepfeltoltes.hu/160717/IMG_1593_www.kepfeltoltes.hu_.jpg
(See, there is no error message as before like "unmount /data" or somthing else...)
I am hardly a professional....
I used philz, and my files the way I described...
There may be some issues, I had miui Rom installed before...
And there is another guy that did the repartition process... using SP flash tools...
You can try maybe replacing the EBR1, EBR2 in the original Rom and choose firmware update....
Then install the twrp recovery and the Rom...

Now I tried again and again, I followed again your every intsructions and I tried the following ROMs with TWRP 2.6.3.0:
- xiaomi.eu_multi_TCL_S960_6.7.14_v8-4.4 (latest) - Failed
- xiaomi.eu_multi_TCL_S960_6.6.30_v8-4.4 (previous) - Failed
- xiaomi.eu_multi_TCL_S960_6.3.10_v7-4.4 - Success!
Now, the MIUI 7 is running.
I am trying to upgrade to latest MIUI 7 and after to MIUI 8....
...but I am afraid: this will be again failed.
