My phone is currently unlocked and im able to deploy homebrew apps no problem. Im running ansar's custom mango 7720 rom for tmobile. I went to update through zune the htc update (which of course put bootloader 5.10 on), but my phone keeps getting relocked. So I went back to my previous save point and my phone was unlocked again. So I tried updating my phone through wp7 update cabs sender, which updated my phone just fine, but my phone was locked again. Should I install the htcprovxml with my reg changes and then run the updates and then run htcprovxml after? I tried running the htcprovxml before the update, but I still get a locked phone.
Well, for sure the HTC updates doesn't allow edits to the registry to save. we can view registry keys though. Even after reverting back to the previous restore point. I still can deploy homebrew apps though. So now it seems no cooked roms after the HTC update, interop and no developer cracks

I want to flash a clean stock ROM on my T-Mobile HD7 and I need to know which one to go for ?
the leaked Nodo ROM or the one posted by Ansar.
(In the Bootloader it says 'Security Unlocked' on the top of the phone)
Is the Goldcard method the only way and I want to know after I flash this ROM would it be updateable in future via Zune ?
Also where can I find the tutorials where I can learn more about this ?
Doing a search on the forums would yield directions and information on everything you've asked.
How to Flash a new ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=876451
As for stock ROMs, the European ROMs (unbranded ones) from HTC, would be as stock as you can get. This would come stock with only HTC apps installed, which of course, can be easily removed. This would be the NoDo one posted. You aren't going to find a true stock app, since there are none available.
The branded T-Mobile ROMs of course, come with some T-Mobile apps (that can be easily removed), and very little customization. Most important, they include preset configuration settings for T-Mobile services such as data connectivity (though this can be configured to any HTC phone with the HTC Connection Setup app), and most importantly, the latest software radios for phone use in the United States.
If you choose a device with radios outside the USA or made for a different network, you may notice varied battery life, call reception and quality, and varied data throughput.
Because you say your device is security unlocked, you should have no trouble installing a ROM for the HD7 from any region, without goldcard. I think.
original t-mobile rom for hd7
i have htc hd7 changed my rom to HD7_TMOUS_2.20.841.02_Radio_5.65.09.11a_22.44.50.1 5_NoDo, by ansar and tried to do chevronwp7 and i think i should have done chevron first before the rom. i dont know if there is a way to unlock my phone with chevron with the nodo rom already installed but thinking i should revert back to original rom then chevron it but where can i get that rom since i had t-mobile. or is there a way for me to unlock with chevronwp7 even with the installed TMOUS_2.20.841.02_Radio_5.65.09.11a_22.44.50.1 5_NoDo, by ansar (no worries i figured it out , no need for reply)

First windows phone ever, skilled in android as well as older phones (think motorola seem editing, LOL) I just have no idea about this. I recently bought mine on craigslist and the guy added the nodo update like 2 days before I bought it, How did you revert to stock tmobile and chevronwp7 it? I want to sideload apps!
Hi
I'm using tmobile hd7 and successfully flashed a Telstra nodo rom, however I am missing my custom ringtones notificatons and homebrew apps, has anyone been able to unlock after nodo?
MS made it clear that NoDo will patch the security flaw that was exploited by the chevron team. So for now there is no hack after NoDo. But its all a matter of time before a hack comes from someone. Hopefuuly its sooner than later as i do miss the custom ringtones and registry hacks.
Microsoft should just allow free XAP files to be put on phones...
just put security checks in to safeguard files that are paid for on the market place should be nothing too hard for Microsoft to do...
But Im loving NoDo and my hacks that I done before are still there just cant edit them after now...
Like the **it Yahoo search page on IE and some custom colours
There is a way to have NoDo and still have your phone unlocked. But you have to unlock it at pre-Nodo (7004 or 7008) and then wait for your official update throught Zune. Here is the thread:

how can i sure that my HD7 is unlock???
I have two HD7 both were unlocked with Chevron, I flashed one with the Telstra rom and the unlock with all my apps were gone. But the other one with official nodo from t-mobile kept the apps and the unlock. So I can confirm that you need to unlock before nodo to keep the unlock.

The phone were unlocked before pre-nodo, don't know if that makes a different.

+1, unlocked and nodo, working perfectly.
You must reflash your phone with a old Shopping Rom without nodo, now patch with nodo and use nodo patch from Forum. Now you can make update with zune and you will not lose your patched phone pn ME tomorrow and will give you needed Files when you not found that

Somehow my backup from premango got lost... i have no idea and im past that ....
I am running a locked HD7 from Tmobile using 7712 which I update through zune. I want to get back to a stock ROM so when Mango is released over zune I will be able to get it over zune. Where do I go from here?
BTW... on the update tab on zune, all it says is that my phone is up to date and there is no button there that says "restore".
Use RSPL to put your phone into a state where you can flash any ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195647
Then flash this ROM (seems to be the most recent T-Mobile one - Build 7392):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1183891
I don't know if there are any generic US ROMs that you could use. It would get rid of any T-Mobile branding, but I don't think it would unlock it for you.
Alternately, you could follow one of the many guides that will let you update 7712 to 7720 (RTM). The RTM should receive official updates from HTC once they've release their official Mango firmware.
Currently I am at 7712 and locked. How would I get to 7720 RTM and be unlocked? I saw that in the link you posted if you are currently unlocked you can stay unlocked when going to 7720 but you have to be previously unlocked. So what ROM should I flash to in order to unlock my phone? And then move along to 7720?

Are you talking about a carrier lock or a developer lock? I don't believe flashing any ROM will remove a carrier lock. You usually have to pay to get a code and unlock it that way, though I could easily be wrong. Hopefully someone else can clarify.
When I say locked I mean the opposite of a chevron unlock. So im not able to side load apps
You can flash one of ansar's Custom ROMs that is all unlocked by default.
Or you can go back to 7392/7390 and apply Chevron by yourself. You can follow this thread to keep all unlocked during updates and reach finally 7720.
Or you can stay at 7392 (locked/unlocked) and wait for official Mango.
Regards,
Cina.
If I start with ansar's ROM will I be able to follow that (staying unlocked) to RTM Mango?
Hi all,
i've got a problem after i've installed mango 7720 (official) on my phone....
i lost my chevron unlock
well, i've tried to rollback, then, put CustClear.provxml, but, resulted NOTHING than REVOKE notification
anybody have this pype of problem???
i used to use 7720 RTM, with chevron kept safely till the target build....
Thanks in Advance,
Armada
Same here. How to restore chevron?

sh4d0w86.
mine was locked too. but there's a difference.Mine doesn't have the ISV when i force update to Mango.I revert back to nodo now and plan to try and use Ansar U2m 7720.
Hello,
I've updated my HD7 with [DFT Freedom ROM] Mango 7720 Schubert Custom ROM and now since the HD7 got an official Mango update I wanted to revert back to the stock ROM to update through Zune (and can be useful when taking it to the service center not to void my warranty).
I've searched the forum but couldn't really understand how to .
HD2 is much easier to handle than HD7
Download an old official RUU Rom. Install it in bootloader (make sure you have windows mobile device driver installed) when the word SERIAL become USB, launch the exe RUU. This operation revert all to stock (also SPL if you have HSPL). When phone start you're ready to update with Zune.
Tested myself.
Hope this is useful for you.
