Some info:
LG optimus 2x
MIUI rom
16GB SD card
Fat 32 format
only 392mb used
PC recognises full 16gb (well, 14ish due to formatting) and phone sees 5.50GB. It also says that its only got 40-50mb space remaining which is completely wrong.
I've formatted the SD card through the phone & PC (using the slower format too)
The SD card was used as a recovery SD for my Nook Colour before the current phone and I'm not sure whats wrong.
Any suggestions?
Just to make sure:
Check that you're not looking at the internal sd (since that one is 5.5 GB)
Hmm, how embarrassing. I think I am looking at the internal SD card.
However under the SD card menu, I can unmount/mount the (5.5gb) internal memory and format it (which I've already formatted )
Any thoughts on how to view the external SD card? there doesnt seem to be a menu for it in the MIUI settings
I would look in /mnt/emmc, sound likes the mount points have been switched.

My SD card (Transcend) goes 'missing' once in a while. and the files seems to get corrupt even when I am copying on my WinXP PC (using an SD card reader).
Searching the web I found this Panasonic SD card formatter which claims to format your SD card to be more 'SD compliant' compared to a windows format. http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/sd/download/sd_formatter.html
Eager to solve my SD problem, I went a head and download this software and perform a format on my SD card. To my horror, after formating, my SD card is only recognized as 1Gb!! Maybe it's only meant to format certain SD card brands, clearly mine is not the case.
If anyone is having this problem, you can download this software to fix your 2Gb SD Card back http://www.ritekusa.com/jsp/SD_Cards_Download.jsp
It does fix my SD card and give me back 2Gb of space. Hopefully after formating it with Pocket Mechanic will make it more compatible with my Dopod D810 and not make my files go corrupt.

+1. worked for me too.
I just got a new revo yesterday, and while poking around I noticed that the 12 Gb of internal memory is mounted as an sd card, while the actual sd card is mounted as a sub dir called _ExternalSD. Has anyone else noticed this?
Yep, you have 16gb internal and 16gb external
Yeah, but the point is that the internal memory is not being mounted as internal, it's being mounted as an sd card (with the actual sd card being a sub directory). I can see several problems with this, mostly with trying to transfer data. Or if you had a 32 GB card that you wanted to use for whatever instead, unless you can specify where a program stores stuff, it's going to store data on the "SD Card", which in this case is not the removable sd card. I guess if you want to transfer stuff you just have to remember to move it all the the "_ExternalSD" sub directory first, or you are going to plug your card in somewere else and wonder why there's nothing on it...
Not sure about your phone but mine saves to the real sd card. things i want on my internal memory, things i want saved on my sd card go to external sd card.
Hi everybody...
I currently see a weird behavior with my N7000 i'd like to clear up.
I have the N7000 with 16GB internal memory (2 standard partitions) plus one 64gb SD card (SDcard1).
The card (exFat) is mounted correctly and works...
I am running Cyanogen stable release cm-10.1.3-n7000.
The weirdness starts, when the card contains more than 32GB of data:
-Camera shows error: No external storage
-SD card is still accessible.
-Internal partition 2 (SDcard0) is no longer mounted
-External SDcard (SDcard1) is available with full capacity
The problem only occurs, when the external SD card contains more than 32gb AND the device is rebooted. When i put in the freshly formatted card and fill it up over 32gb, internal storage stys mounted and works.
So it seems to me, that the N7000 or Android for that matter can only manage 32gb of the SDcard and the internal memory at a time, at least during mounting SDcard1.
Any hints or solutions are welcome...

In order to help you properly more info is needed. what brand SD card is it, did you do the formatting or by the phone? I ask because I had the same problem with my GS4 using a cheap 64GB card from ebay. I did everything I could including changing many kernels to find one that would read the card properly, no go. In my research I found out that there are some people that are selling cards that are not truly 64GB and conforming to the eXFAT system. I returned the card for a refund and spent a little more and bought a Sandisk 64GB (true eXFAT formatted) and all my problems went away. I am not here saying that you must buy Sandisk, I am suggesting that you try a true high capacity eXFAT card to see if there is a difference. I explained my problem to the vendor and presented my research and he recalled the card without a hic-up.
Try to format it to fat32
Sent from Nowhere....
I experiencing a very annoying problem with my external SD card.
It seems I am not the only one: http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z1-Z1s/Z1-destroy-files-on-SD-card/td-p/418011
Basically I loose random data when I store them on external SD card.
Many random data: let's say about 30-40% of what I stored.
This happens:
* if I copy data from internal memory to external direcly with the phone
* if I copy data from the PC to external card using USB connection while the card is in the phone
* even if I copy data onto the card and THEN insert it into the phone
The SD card is a brand new Samsung Class 10 64GB and I tried also with an old 32GB Sandisk with the same result.
I formatted the card either exFAT or FAT32 and in both cases I can fill it without loosing a single byte with the PC.
I am on .157 stock firmware (only rooted to use Titanium Backup and a few tools) but I had the same problem with .133.
Any possible solution in your expert opionions? It is really frustrating to have only 11GB storage in such a great phone!!!
Got three guesses
It does not correctly unmount the card when connecting the phone to the PC in Mass Storage mode
Kernel Bug. On exFat I would expect that, not on fat32. Can be ruled out if it does not happen with custom roms
Voltage on the SD Card suddently drops for some hardware design reason. Should happen on all ROM's
Sounds like some testing is needed? For example #2 is easy to test when someone with the problem flashes a custom rom with and tests the same sd card again.
