Hii, guys. I'm connecting my GN to Kies and it says that it has a new firmware upgrade available for me.
However, when I click ok, update it gives me the following error:

Is your Kies updated to the latest version? Try that, might help. What is your firmware version and what region?

Yes, Kies is up to date. My device is currently running Android 2.3.5 N7000XXKJ4. The phone is made in China (if that's relevant in any way) and I'm from Romania.

I sort of figured it out...
I wasn't able to get it going on my laptop, but I did manage to successfully update it on my PC.
Was a bit of a dumb-head for not trying that earlier...

The text reads: The upgrade is in process so do not remove the phone from the computer. At the bottom it states that the conversion did not succeed. Try again later.
Well, there goes the neighborhood. My phone is now broken. Kies has given up. It cannot find my phone and my phone is still in Download with the warning...Do not turn off Target!!!!
Can I easily say that it is broken and I should send it in?

you can keep it on the download screen
download ODIN plus the firmware you want to use from sams firmware
then run Odin and flash the phone
Ok, thanks. How would I know what firmware to use and could you please point me to the exact link to where these files are? I have been searching like crazy. Got to one page but I did not see any links to Odin or firmwares...oh BTW, I do not think I have the 3-button funtion. Is this a must?
So i am just wondering what exactly did the latest update by bell bring for users ? because i know its still Froyo 2.2 and not even 2.2.1. so what exactly did this update do ? i unno about others but i think after i updated my phone to this update i have been seeing improved battery life..is that only me or what ?

I'm running JL2 (since Jan) and have been offered KC1 (or something like that) which is still Froyo so I didn't update. Have you updated Kies lately?
I'm in the US on T-Mobile with GT-N7000 (LB1 Polish Version?) on (i think?) stock GB, I have CWM, I think I have root because in mobile terminal I can login as super user, and when I plug the phone into Kies it doesn't say anything under current firmware version:

I really want to update to the official ICS from kies but I can't figure out how. I don't want to brick it like so many others have as this is my only phone and since I'm in the US I don't have a warranty (I bought it off Amazon a month ago). How can I update it?

It says that my device can not be updated via Kies. Why would that be?
I am using the latest version of Kies, Windows 7 x64, directly connected to the computer.
i have the same tablet locked to rogers and i get the same thing in kies. I hope someone can shed some light on this.

I just got off the phone with Rogers and unless the Devs did something funky with the initial flash of the rom, there is nothing stopping us from upgrading like anyone else.
On a side note, they say they released the 4.0.4 update almost two weeks ago, just as Telus did. (Same day in fact) Odd how no one is able to get it however.

My device is Lumia 530 (RM-1017_1008) and upgraded to W10M by unsupported way, then i used DHT Upgrade Advisor to get 14393.448 build. installed Interop Tool and checked all features in Interop Unlock tab
Then i used WDRT to go back to 8.1 (Cyan) because of battery.
But when i update the phone, it stop at 'Preparing to install 14%' and showed 'The update was dowloaded, but couldn't opened (8018830f)
I tried went back to Stock for many times by WDRT, but this problem couldn't sovle.
I tríed to use Prev for Dev to get Preview Build, it works but there are 3 update (i think this is a bug) and after installing, my device works slowly.
How to solve this problem?
