I run DX v20.. just so there is no confusion.
and i also have tried the hacked skype apk from theos0o but no joy, it does see the camera at the abck, still no option to turn on video calling in skype settings.

i think video calling is possible with secondary camera and x8 doesnt hav a secondary cam. although i read on market dat sumhow some devices can use back camera for vid calling? i downloaded skype too, tried to make an account on skype but wtf i need a very unique password it seems, but i can live without it
The secondary video camera is not needed, the problem lies with ARM6 vs ARM7 cpu thingy. But i guessed someone has managed to hack the thingy to work.

cpu defines the speed of the phone. In order to have good smooth video calling experience, you gotta have a fast and good cpu.

Yes, when it comes to vid callin, you cannot do with X8. but you do have skype app which you can use for chatting and voice calls. Of course good data connection is required. If you use hsdpa, it would be good enough. X8's processor is good enough for voice calls on the net.
Yes the video calling

Hi,
for my job, i need record the conversations on calls....any softwware founds in this devide?
do you know any soft?
Yeah there's a built in recorder. When in the call, click on notes, then menu, then view recording toolbar. You can then record both sides of the conversation with that.

Does anybody confirm that Resco works in Xperia ?
Wich ROM ? I have tryed with R2A , with any positive resolt.
YES, it works BUT I don't think it records digitally. I mean it records your speakers output through the mic. It is good enough for me however, at least when recording at home. Haven't tried outside. But performance is very bad. MP3 @ 320 kbps will produce interruptions ("CPU overload"). That's bad code if it fails on a 500 Mhz CPU. Wave however works fine.
Oh BTW, ROM is R2A.
you need a skin from resco for Xperia.

The program itself supports both direction recording, but the hardware does not.
From what I heard, recording in both directions is not possible with the X1.

I really hope so too. I don't really need a recording function but sometimes it would be fine to hear a conversation again to not miss any information.
Just adding my request for a way to activate 2 way recording on the Xperia.
People from SE Holland were very fast to tell me that it is not possible. Anyone knows if it's really not possible because the hardware doesn't support it? Or is it something that can be fixed?
Yesterday I installed Resco Audio recorder and some other software, at first i couldn't hear my parter, after some fiddling around it worked perfectly, but i had to soft reset my device and after that it didn't worked.
So I'm sure it's a software problem.
has any one of the lucky owners of the phone tried to use Skype on it? Is there video chat support? Surely the hardware is up to the task.

I tried with Yahoo Messenger and that worked.
Havn't tried Skype.
Skype doesn't support video chat, and I can't even log in, it crashes every time I start it (2.2.1)
I have tried skype. It works perfectly! Excellent sound quality using either 3G/H or wifi.
Sadly no video support yet. There are some other apps that do have video like Tango or Fring. Downside is that the other party needs the same app too. ( correct me if im wrong )

Tango works, but the front cam is not supported.
Beta fring 2.4.5.9 can work with the FFC just fine.
Download it here http://reg.fring.com/app/versions/Fring2459.apk
Note this is NOT the market version, it is a later version which is beta testing.

This should now have a much greater possibility of working now that the android app supports video call natively on some roms.
Biggest thing is i think, that whe need a front camera, maybe a developer can adjust the program that whe only can or must use back camera !!

This is already done. You can test it with Fring Voice call. Its more of a question of telling the new Skype app that the leo is also a capable phone for video calling.
Its actually not working with Miui 2.3.. it just gives a black image.. back or front = same
When someone is calling to you with video, you get video .... accept you can't send video...
Maybe skype is updating it later

I have the same problem. Its probably not starting the video correctly. I have heard that in Skype v3.0 it will be working on all phones and not limited to the ones specified on the website.
It sucks since we cant even see a video come in either. Tested it a few time, no luck.

Which file exactly from that thread? There are 7... obviously some saying two cameras, but which did you use?
EDIT: com.skype.raider-2-onecam.zip
Just tested com.skype.raider-1cam.zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1153285 - skype and video works good, but i can't receive phone incoming calls from GSM or 3G when skype is active and online.
Does anyone also have this issue?
When there are incoming call, i receive FC of com.android.phone if i try to pick up the call. After FC there are no sound in the system until the reset.
If skype is not active all works ok.
I have a TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 Nightly v3.4.0 Android 2.3.4 GB ROM in my HTC HD2
Same here, the incomming call rings, but when picked up no sound and the screen freezes.
I go back to the skype from the market and wait for the problem will be resolved.
UPDATE:
Just found out that the skype downloaded from the market has the same problems.
When i log out of skype, i can receive the 3G calls.

Ok, but the original ROM I do it without using other apps, and Skype is not Paid for video calls to mobile numbers?
Make video calls by mobile online at no cost, so I would know if is unable to use a function like this in ROM Maclaw, which is very good.:good:
Video call isn't available on AOSP ROMs. Video call option Is a Samsung's proprietary thingy and we can't port it to CM10.1.

Yes that is worked for me also. Network call can be made easily. But I'm asking native video call which can make from dialer app itself
The asus dialer doesn't support video calling for me. it just goes to Duo.
I hope someone finds a way to install the google phone APK. I had native carrier video calling on my pixel 3 and also duo.
As far as I knew duo is the native video caller for Android. If I am not mistaken duo was used as the "FaceTime" version built in direct to Google phones such as the pixel and Nexus series. I use duo constantly and it works pretty seem less with the occasional bad connection

I could see why people may think so but it is actually not.
My Pixel 3 XL supported native videocalling through its phone app. It also had an option to call out using Duo.
I don't believe there is a way to set a default app for just videochat.
The cool thing about native video calling is that you don't need an app to use it. (Well, in this case, WE do!)
Same problem
Hi bro . I facing same problem. I have used poco F1 earlier in that You can do video call without using internet data. But this Rog 2 is not showing any option to do video call not even receiving nativ video call. Little disappointed with this beast. Any solution ?
We have to find a dialer that supports native carrier videocalling. I have not tried any yet
Please share that dialer app
Please
