i was looking at portable battery chargers to use for my tilt, anyone out there taken a look at the energizer mini usb battery charger? here's a link to bestbuy.com page on it. if anyone has any info it'd be greatly appreciated.

i bought it for 20 bucks and and extra 10 for the tips..but i like about it mainly is that they have tips for almost everything...so this portable charger is very versatile.. but i barely use mine tho =\
I have used the Energizer version (emergency purchase from QFC at 11PM! ) and it worked like a champ!
The Lithium batteries charged me up to about 40% in the hour it took to drive home, with the phone on and also making a single 5 minute call. All-in-all I was impressed.
i'd use the lenmar ppu2100b...2100mah on it and very portable...u can charge it via usb or the tilts own ac adapter. if u want something smaller there's the lenmar ppumini with 750mah. those two are probably the most "elegant" options out there. check the reviews...
oh...and the other benefit is that it charges pretty fast...inbetween an ac and a usb connection...ime the aa battery chargers charge slllooowwww
I tried the energiser charger, it wound up burning out my battery, and destroying my mini USB port. I recommend you stay away from it for everyday use, only for emergency.

I'm looking fior the same. I bought recantly GOAL ZERO Nomad -7. Instead of charging it drains the power of my Note-2. I guess it is because of the non-standard pin-out (11 pins), so this is the one I would definitely not recommend.

I haven't seen any positive reviews about any solar powered chargers. The problem is that you need to apply voltage (bias it) in order for it to work. Like those solar power panels on the roof of people - if you loose a power to the house, they will not work So they might be draining instead of charging lol!!!
Don't know for sure how it works and if it works and how efficiently. So if anybody has any real life experience, please chime in. Most of the big name external battery vendors don't want to carry this product. I only seen it on ebay and Aliexpress.
I personally haven't tried one. From what I've seen about them, they're very fast, and can be nick-picky about the angle to the sun. On top of it, you'll probably need to check what's the output versus what the phone needs to change.
I think you're probably better off finding some kind of crank mechanism and use that to change the phone. Plus, you'll get a little work out too; you'll live longer to enjoy your phone, 8)
I have a voltaic that I use when camping or on extended hikes. It comes with a 3000mah battery. I haven't used it on the Note2 yet, but used it a lot with my Fascinate. The battery works fine as backup power, though it charges slowly and the phone pretty much has to be off for it to be effective. It takes most of a day of full sun to recharge the contained battery. It's ok if you're going to be away from power for a week, but for less than that I think just an extra battery or two fully charged would work better.
I think we just need to find or build one that supports 2.1 amps (ideally) but anything over 1amp should do something.

I have one I found at Best Buy a couple years ago. It's a single amp box, so charges my Note II very slowly. I've used it on my bike when I'm out on rides. I have a mount for it and my phone. While riding, I use bluetooth headphones. It does work, but like someone else said, there needs to be one with 2.1 amps.
I as well have a Nomad 7, but mine charges my note without issue, although I will admit, it is impractically slow.
I bought this couple of months ago, charging the phone is a wii bit slow but it works like a champ!

WICKED... just stumbled across this on ebay. If you are a roll your own DIY type and want to charge a rapid charge device like Note2 or a tablet or something, this might be a great thing to look at.

I, personally, don't like the mini-usb connector... seems kind of goofy. I'd prefer just two wire terminals to connect solar panels to.
But yeah, if you've got high voltage solar setup... e.g. anything between 5V and 36V and want to have a clean, regulated 5V usb compliant output, this would likely be your guy. I'd also want to make sure it really does work with note2 - in terms of negotiation of currents higher than 100ma. YMMV FWIW
AND if you don't need note2/tablet 2A...

So now that samsung decided to remove the battery, it would only make sense to have a portable battery pack handy.
A friend of mine let me borrow his RAVPower 15,000mAh power pack and i have been testing it on my S4 to see how well it works, so far i am impressed with it, but i've only charged the phone twice, trying to see how many charges i can get out of it. will update this thread and post a better review of it later when i get better impressions of it. i also have an brand new Anker power pack i will be testing later on. primarily interested in charge speed rather than charge cycles. will update this post a bit later with more information and power packs.

It takes about two hours to charge, and then to charge my dead s5 takes about 1 hr and 45 minutes.
I have a Samsung one with 10000mAh and it is pretty good. With a 2000-3000mAh you are not even going to charge the phone up once, so pretty much useless.
I have been using Anker 2nd gen Astro2 for a year now , looks good with plenty of juice , and as per manufacture specs it can push out 3 Amps , 3 Amps is useless on my S4 but it should be perfect for S6.

forget finding a "fast charge" on portable chargers. highly unlikely you will find one. maybe in the future when someone figures out and implement some kind of voltage step-up regulator as it's a limitation right now since to get fast charge to work you need 9 Volt output and current portable chargers can only output @ 5 volts. it's basically a limitation on the internal li-ion batteries, they can only output 4-5V.
your best bet is to get something like the Anker 16,000mAh for high capacity and pretty fast charging, it can output 5V at 2.1A, it will charge most phones (Galaxy S4, S5) in about 1 and 1/2 hours from about 8% battery left on the phone. you might only shave off only 15-20 minutes using a samsung wall fast charger, so it's really not a whole lot difference..

I've a TP-link 10400MAH, it's very good
i got the mi powerbank 10400mAh, its charging my lg g3 quite fast (output rated 2A).
never looked how long exactly it takes, but i will do that when i get my edge.
it's using standard lithium cells from samsung/lg.
i think it's also possible to change them, have to investigate this.

So I am almost 100% certain that I'm going to be getting the Note 5, which as we all know comes with a 3,000 mAh battery (which cannot be removed), I'm thinking that I'm going to need to keep a power bank on me when I'm traveling. The power bank that I had for my Note 4 (which worked quite well) was from TechMatte. I got it on amazon about a year ago, and it's still going strong.
Do you guys think that it will still work well for the Note 5? I think that it will still work fine, but I'm wondering which one you guys use-- perhaps I might upgrade if a good priced one is mentioned?

I use a limefuel Been using it for several months now. It works great. They did have a problem with bad batch where the USB ports would either come lose or no longer work, but since there was a 1 year warranty I got a free replacement

I have the Cheotech one. Its one of the few Quick Charging Batteries that actually registers as a fast charger. I have tested many of the ones available on Amazon. You wont see them on my channel since they dont pass the Fast Charger test. See my video on the Choetech one.

I have not received a unit from AUKEY as of yet. Many of the ones that claim to be Q2.0 when connected to the phone stay in cable charging mode. Not Fast charging. Can anyone on the thread post their experience. See my pic

I too have that one. great value for the price. They are also offering quick charge ones-- my wife uses it on her s6.
External Battery Power Bank is the right solution as the Note 5 has non-removable 3000mAh battery that is even less than its predecessor.!

Anyone could do a comparison review of the two? Is Aukey battery a new released one? I had the CHOETECH one. It's a pretty high quality PowerBank good for both Samsung and Apple users, because its fast charging port is compatible with iOS devices (at fast rate 2.1Amps max).

i read somewhere that Quick Charging does wear the battery quicker. ever since i read that, i've avoided Quick Charging my S6e unless i really needed the juice quickly. i just don't want to own a brick sooner than later if true, especially since we cant replace the battery. on my S6e, it fully charges in 1hr 12min with the Adaptive charger while with a regular 2.4A charger, it fully charges in 1hr 20min. i haven't checked my Note 5 Duos yet. but i always have 2 power banks with me in my camera bag anyway whenever i'm carrying it which is almost always.
i've got several branded power banks including those from Anker and Aukey, but the only one that has held up the longest and still performs really well is my Mophie. it just doesn't have as large a capacity as my other power banks.

Hi, I purchased a Galaxy S6 Edge whilst abroad and got a 2pin adaptive fast charger with it.
I'm back in the UK and was looking to buy the Adaptive fast charger off Amazon.co.uk however for two of the sellers I saw a load of negative reviews about the charger breaking after a while or it bursting/overheating and burning up and that they are not actually original Samsung fast chargers.
Now I don't really want to walk into an actual Samsung Store and buy myself a charger from them as I'm guessing it'll cost somewhere between £20-30.
- If there are any other sites that actually do sell legitimate Samsung Fast Chargers please do let me know!

4) Could I use the linked quick charger longterm without any problems to the device (I really do plan to keep this phone for a few years).
If there are any other Fast Chargers/Quick Chargers that are compatible and better than the one I linked please do let me know.

I've been using a Motorolla turbo charger from mobilefun for at least 6 months that has the 3 voltage levels on my Note 4 with no ill effect. The phone will only request the voltage it wants from the charger when it wants. I also use the turbo charger on an ipad and battery pack with no problems.
