Andida 1800mAH to OB (warning) - LG Optimus Black

Hello, i bought the new Andida 1800mAh batery.I used the one of theme in my HTC topaz, and its better batery then original. But in my OB is really different experian. If you want wake up OB from stand by,push the power button, you can see little "flashing" on the screen.I think, there is coming a more energy to OB, then original batery.Thats my experian, maybe its helpful for someone.

Was it worth over the original 1500 mAH? I mean i always end up with bigger batteries too but at least double capacity.
And was your original battery that bad already? I mean OB is not even year old!

My original battery is ok, i get it to my OB back.Battery is 2 months old
I bouth some accessories for my Lg, and take this Andida for good experience from HTC(there was 20-30% improvement). Its little bit bad choice.I think, the flashing screen isn't good for the display life

If it is flashing as you say it must be some instability of the battery cell - voltage peaks etc.
Try to check the voltage in both original and generic batery and write to the company in case there is difference.

Voltage is ok, 3.7v.Maybe some bad piece.

Does it have the same voltage as the original OB battery?
The mAh shouldn't be a problem as having more means only that the battery should last longer.
Unless there are other inner differences beside the mAh.

I assume 3.7V is measured using a constant load (e.g. a DC voltmeter with a high impedance input), so don't get fooled by that. Once you are draining current on a real environment, this battery might be in and out of the ideal operation mode, meaning that voltage fluctuations might occur for different current levels. If that is the case, get rid of that battery ASAP or you might risk your device.

But you have the top of brighness?

With really good ROM you could get max. 3 days out of it. And whats the 20-30% difference between it?

Usually I like the original batteries ...

Many battery, come without legal certificate.. that can be give negative effect to handheld. Becarefull still use the OEM battery for safety your phone.

Its a good idea buy a battery like this (1800mA) for my OB?

1930mAh battery

Can I use a 4.2v battery in my X8? The current battery is 3.7v and I believe the phone charges using 4.2v.
It would be a great find as this battery is 1930mAh and it is the same size as the original unlike the other battery on the market that requires an adapted case.
cgi.ebay.ie/GOLD-EP500-BATTERY-SONY-ERICSSON-Vivaz-U5-U5i-U8i-/250751172655?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3a61ef402f#ht_2605wt_1257
My advice, don't buy it. It is a fake that is nowhere close to 1930mAh.
saw the battery with 1500 mAh with little bigger size.
But with 4.2v - it may works.
I prefer to buy only original parts for your mobile X8. Otherwise will it not work I think, but im not sure.
Of course it works.. Although, it's recommended official batteries..
Sent from my E15i using XDA App
I've heard that unofficial batteries can explode, melt or not work at all.
Much better if you use original batteries, bec different batteries have different specs (or output current) which might have bad effects on your phone when you use it.
I have it !
I have this battery only for two days. But now I think this "gold 1930mAh battery is better than original. It is my subjective impress. But time of standby on battery is about 30hours and level of battery is 19% now.
usage of battery :
about 3-4 min phoning
about 2hours of playing music in ear phones
3G or EDGE was on all time - gmail
about 15 min surfing
about 5 min in facebook app
about 20 sms - all via internet ( application )
I THING - you cant do this with orig battery.
I will test phone and i will tell you my experience.
But now I can say - it was good deal for me !!!
X8 is a good mobile of Sony Ericcson and my Advice for you if you want to buy this mobile the buy its original parts otherwise don,t buy because i have use it so many times but it was not original so therefore its battery timing was bad .
i think its fake...
Is it true ? my x8 should be life for 3 day with 1930 mAh

Hahahahaha. Are you saying my phone will go flat after 5 mins of using the facebook app?
just to share with you guys, i bought the "1920mah gold battery" mentioned by TS. It works perfectly well with X8. I used it for a week so far, no problems with it yet.
Physically, it feels a bit lighter than the stock EP500 battery, and it definitely does not live up to the 1920mah as stated. I personally feel that this gold battery can last about as long as the stock battery, definitely not more.
So if you are looking for a cheap alternative battery for your x8, and dont mind the risks involved in using non-official SE battery, this might work for you. Else i suggest you stick to the original ones.
where did you get the "1920mah gold battery" shipping? or store? how much.? just asking,,,
I'm glad that you tried the battery ,and find no problem.Maybe I can have a try ..

umm... Then you would never recommend going for a custom firmware or anything that would void SE's warranty, and cling to the stupid base firmware that the SE proudly provides in its x8!... well, in that case, ...damn, there's no emotion for this one!
I don't think so it is true
handsfree very poor..
casing from plastic ..
ever think original battery also low level class??
in out there already battery with more extreme than this one, and i think will not give bad effect as long it design to x8.
remember all electronic part having maximum voltage n ampere tolerance,
i mean they can handle unstandart voltage n ampere..
effect like warm or explode is not because voltage, but because fault product, wrong operations, and cell shortcut (because we use this battery non stop)
i think original battery work fine.. it help me test bug from app as well.. if it drain fast.. so it must be app problem

I got it in ebay, many stores are selling. Just do a search in ebay for 'ep500 gold battery' and you can look for the cheapest to be shipped to your country.

Lg l7 battery fits our OB just fine :)

EDIT:
Do the following at you're own risk.Even though it works for me and there is no logical reason it wouldn't work for you.
My wife got a new L7 couple of Weeks back and i have been paying with it every now and again.
As the battery on the OB is experiencing bad drain lately i thought to look for replacement. Tried other battery with no luck and than last night thought what the hell i will try the L7's battery.
Hell yeah ! Fits nicely ( but the OB battery had to be filled a bit to fit in the L7 , just in the right corner about 1mm on 1mm).
Now to the nice part. As it is a new battery the self drain is gone.
And it is 1700mAh
Although i will have to return it to my wife as she is gonna be in a shock as her phone is gonna be dead before tonight The big question for me is is the L9 battery the same size and would it fit as well .
I forgot to mention with the original battery the current drain is about 1% every 2 minutes .
But this is due to me using the phone a LOT. At least one and often two charges a day for year and a half so long gone the 300 charges which are supposed to retain 90% of the original charge.
can you take a picture of your p970 backcover battery?
Here goes the pics, sorry about the delay.
P.s. Pics are from the old trusty s8500 aka wave. L7 camera is crap
So L7 battery is 3.8 volt our p970 battery is 3.7 volt.Cant it be any damage on main board?
Wouldn't think so. As both mobiles work fine with swapped batteries
And during charging voltage is way higher anyway. Remember 5 volt charger
That's a nice find! Good job! Might buy a genuine L7 battery...

Nice info, thank you!
I am glad to share
But as for the L9 looks like different shape and contacts positions
Thanks gor info:thumbup:
sorry for my bad English
So is it safe despite the voltage difference?
So far so good. One day use and it is great. 4 hours + screen time compared to 2.5 (again worth repeating my original battery is degraded)
I even find data connection working better, but that might as well be fruit of my imagination.
Best part is my wife hasn't caught up yet .

Yes. Don't use it. Just because something fits doesn't means it is supposed to work. For instance I am pretty sure if I try I can fit my phone in my mouth. Is that good? NO!
You won't notice it short term but long term it will bite you and Lg can refuse warranty if it's damaged due to incorrect use.

super correct , if this was the deal lg simply would have included it at least in the models of today , but the main board will suffer on long terms of use :good:
Actually my neighbour is using razor xxx batery in his phone and that's half volt higher than his original battery.
The problem for the main board is not the voltage itself but the incoherent amperage and power consistence, and this battery is lg made so complies to their standard.
Again remember that the phone runs ok on charger which happens to be 4.8 volts without battery inserted.

Of course it's not the voltage itself, but the increased voltage causes increase current and that increases heat output and that does damage your phone.
Try this yourself.
Create a two circuits with a two identical light bulbs. Use a battery one battery that is 1.5 Volts and use another thats 3 Volts. Which do you think will burn out quicker?
And the fact that it's 1700mAh doesn't necessarily mean it gives longer battery life it might just mean that it has a higher current output.
You can use that battery if you want. I wouldn't.

It's 0.1v of diference, I don't think that could break the phone or something.

The heat output of the CPU is directly proportional to Voltage squared and since the change in temperature is equal to the Heat Ouput minus Heat Disipation the result will be a lot hotter than you think. The hotter it runs the higher the resistance in the circuits the more power you have to us to keep it running stable. Can you see why even a small difference in voltage makes a big difference.

The best slim battery. Ever.

Let's say there are two types of removable phone batteries:
1.SLIM
These are the batteries which just fit straight into the phone without a bigger back cover needed, just like nature (the manufacturers) intended.
They can be extended, and offer a greater capacity, but their physical size remains the same.
then there's...
2. CHUNKY
The bigger batteries which offer a much greater potential capacity but also need a bigger back cover. They make you look at your phone and think "does this make my phone look fat?".
Of course, people are generally accepting of plus sizes nowadays, but slimmer is more practical, in the sense of a phone, right?
Anyway *clears throat*, I bought one of each of these, both being extended.
Firstly, I bought a chunky one, 3500MaH. I'm not sure if it's the phone, or the fact that the battery was el cheapo ($6 AUD), but it seemed liked the stock battery with nothing but an extra weight attached
Then, I purchased a slim one, the infamous gold '2430' MaH battery.
I wouldn't be surprised it was actually 1430 MaH, for it was worse than stock (1500MaH).
The point of this thread is to ask you which of the SLIM extended batteries (NO CHUNKY, ONLY SLIM) is the best you have ever used?
And may you also provide a price / link?
Buy a stock battery and also get your phone checked at lg service center I tried almost all batteries and all roms the battery drain and stand by time was worse...went lg service center they changed mother board it was destroyed by difference in voltage due to batteries and some roms now I have more than 2 days battery...no more flashing and no more experimenting with my phone now I love my phones exceptional battery...I used to think people lie when they say 2 day battery n all...trust me this phone has good battery just get it checked at lg service center also they told me to use stock charger only

how much they changed your motherboard?? trough warranty?? :fingers-crossed:
I would normally always go stock, its safer. even for the little extra money, your getting something sure to work and be safe and tested well.
I'm currently using / testing Battpit Battery you can buy on Amazon.co.uk after the 3rd charge cycle it tested and averaged out to 1740mAh or so, and under heavy use it turned out about 10 hours on almost constant use. i was very impressed.
i'm currently still doing my standby minimum use test for the past couple days and its still going.
heres a link for the battery i bought
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Battpit-tra...8G/ref=sr_1_93?ie=UTF8&qid=1354948855&sr=8-93
so far my tests have found it to be worth the buy. the capacity and charge have been as labeled, and the battery performance so far is going well.

I've ordered a 1800 mAh from ebay. Will report later on the differences with stock battery. Be sure to always charge your phone completely and only charge when battery drops bellow 20% or so, this will lead to a better condition of the battery.
Bought a "gold 2430mAh" battery.
I will edit my post in 2 days to do a feedback
Remember to do a calibration of the batterie to increase performances : Here is the app
EDIT : Yep, it tooks me 2 yearsq to do the tests... Seriously, thoses "gold" battery are totally fake. The battery did'nt handle 2 charges and wasn't better than the original battery.
As I wrote in the other battery thread...stock battery format with better Li-Ion technology, or Li-Pol could give maximum of 1800 mAh. This is a realistic number, I recently bought a Mugen extended battery and it seems to have given 1700 mAh. But all these golden batteries...:cyclops:

anyone even find a REAL Li-Poly battery for our phone? cause the ones that claimed they were that i tried looking for turned out to be bogus after getting a full data sheet from the suppliers. i'm just curious, if there is a real Li-poly battery.
Any updates guys?.
I want a new battery now it last like 15h with 2g and data. Every thing els off... 2ha2h30 screen on.
and at home with wifi on i get lile 20h with 3h screen on....
But its not that bad but i had a samsung befor. And on 3g it lasted the hole day. I wouldent even try that with this one... let 3g on hole day... no wifi. Than inwill need to charge it in the middle of the day....
So the 2430mah gold battery is it any good?. Or should i get 2 , 1600 mah batteries with external charger?.
I could use some good battery life so i can browse the web. Like now i can do much on 2g....
But what i found out is if you put it in flight mode doesnt drop a thing in 1 2 3h even 4h. More. But when celular on its so ****ty....

Battery usage
Hey there!
Ive tried every Rom on this forum, (almost ) but all gave me the same battery issue. (Only the 20s based roms where pretty Good!) Ive found not any ICS rom compatible with 3G and a good battery life. Tobad, but for me its a fact. The P990 is not designed for using with 3G, just drains the battery in les then 3 ours!
I also tried a lot of baseband and Ril versions, there where a few who does made a difference, but not that big.
Right now I using the 20s baseband. just because of my experience in the past.
For me the big difference is how you configure your processor. Which schedular and which governor. I tried a lot of combination, right now Im using schedular conservative with the ZEN governor, this combination gives me a really good battery usage. (4% drain in 8 ours @1200 Mhz @ night @ wifi )
Ive disabled 3G on my phone, only 2G. tobad, but only way to have a good battery life.
I also tried new batteries, the Big one 3500 Mah, not any improvements, the 1950 andida battery is a good one. but they all are not worth the money compared with the less battery usage improvements,
Hope this helps a little in the search for a bettery battery life with our phone.
Regards,
WyCkson

Hi,
just want to say that I have a good expirience With a PEAK Performance 3300mAh, cost ~ 14€ with cover. Now can I use it ~ 2days.
Sometimes the phones turns into a pocket heater that kills every battery, espesially if there are many apk's installed (around 120 up, TB-List)
I Had this problem with every ROM, and also with Stock battery and a new device.

OMG that capacity is awesome and the price?! Sounds way to good to be true, what could happen in worst case, I mean when u say: original or genuine or safe ?
even im not sure wt if it screws up our phone
My stock battery was getting ridiculous, if I get up at 7am and unplug the phone off the charger, the battery will be pretty much dead by 2pm (<20%).
So last week I picked up HLI-S710EXL from Mugen Power. (You need to go search it on their webiste, I can't post link due to newbie status)
I was hesitant at first because the phone could become bulky due to the extra thickness, but now I'm actually holding the phone better as the extra thickness sits right in the centre of my palm, creating a more natural grip.
Battery life is extended significantly, by the time I go to bed around midnight, usually there is still 35% left in the tank.
I know the price is a bit steep, but I think it's well worth the money, especially if you are not about to purchase a new phone in the near future. I'd totally recommend it.
i found battery 2450 in stock size on aliexpress.

If you want to buy some cheap but high quality HTC batteries online, I think you need to try the Everbuying.com.
Truth about batteries is, the manufacturer has already installed the highest capacity battery possible for the physical dimensions of the battery. I've purchased them gold batteries and many other( higher capacity rated for the same physical size) batteries and they seem to be a tad better than original battery for a few weeks but then quickly diminish in capacity to a point way below your stock battery. If you want more mAH from a battery to fit into inc s you must look into extended batteries where the physical size of the battery has been increased. A word of warning too with all these cheap batteries is that most if not all of them have no inbuilt thermal protection circuitry and therefore the posibility exists of thermal runaway caused by batteries being charged when they are too hot to be charged- eg hot summers day in a car...

Hi,
I bought the Mugen Power 1800 mAh Battery, ist just a litte upgrade, i think it did not worth 31€ (or 37$ i guess)

1800 mAh Battery for i9070

While usinge my Galaxy S i9000 for two years now i noticed sometimes the battery lasts (ordinary daily usage presumed) only arround 12 hours, so i tried to find a battery with a higher capacity.
The battery shipped by Samsung only had 1500mAh and after a while you could buy 1800mAh batteries with the same dimensions (i got some from Polarcell made in Germany)
1800mAh means you got a 20% higher capacity IMHO this means 20% longer time to use until charging
relating to the presumed 12hours of lifetime this means 2.4hours this is ok if you charge the phone over night and sleep 8 hours
Coming to the 9070 now!!!
i tried to find some bigger batteries for the advanced. i found some 1650mAh batteries, but i first tried to push my old battery in my new phone .
As you can see on the attached file 1 its only 1mm difference between the two batteries and so the battery didnt fit into the phone. But ive got more than just 1 battery.
So i removed the piece of plastic at the bottom of the battery and the foil around it and voila:
With a little pressure i pushed the battery into the phone
this is just a tip for anyone who needs 20% more capacity and doesnt find such a big battery
Thats dangerous mate..
LOL, I tried it with my i9003 battery and had the same problem like you, I tried to force it but I think it may damage the plastic

no isnt ... below the plastic part is a complete, i think its aluminium body that contains the battery ... the first openig without knowing about what its contains was dangerous...
but pushing the battery into the phone isnt
edit: I have to say below my plastic hull is a full aluminum body ... if you have more than one battery you can try it ... i think every battery uses this ... mom i try an original samsumg
edit2: yeah both batteries contain a smaller aluminium battery i removed the body of my original i9000 and i9070 batteries ...
Polarcell has a 1700mAh battery for i9070 (i use it for a week now)
and Mugen Power has a 1800 mAh battery (but it almost costs 3x the polarcell). And even a 3600mAh with new battery door.
So no need for experiments.

Just to be clear, do you mean the battery from the S2? Because that one has 1650mAh and I can buy it original in my country (Argentina), do you run your SGSA without problems?

Has anyone tried these higher capacity batteries for i9070? I have seen some 2450mAh for 5e, with good buyer's feedback, and i'm seriously thinking to buy one..

Hello mate. I use Mugen Power 3500mAh battery for my I9070. I am very satisfied with it. I mostly use my phone for web browsing , ROM installing and occasional gaming. With the sammy's battery(1500mAh) it barely lasts 18 hours on heavy use.
But with this new battery it lasts well over a day(atleast 30-32 hours) on heavy use. I use cocore kernel and set the charging voltage to 600mA, default. Anything above this will overheat your phone. Also I lowered the usb charging to 400mA.
Overall I am satisfied with this battery.
Thank you for your answer. I believe that your battery is of higher capacity since it's really bigger, but problem is the battery I'm talking about is of SAME volume as original 1500mAh. I'm wondering how have they achieved that (if they did at all), maybe they removed some security parts in order to put more li-ion compound

I think below part of the sammy's 1500mAh battery is made of hard plastic and can be cut and shrinked without affecting the usability.
So the 1800/2450 mAh extended batteries use that space and obtain better capacity without compromising on safety. Anyway good luck.

I've been using the Polarcell battery for about 2-3 months and batterylife is very good, 3g, wifi, pdf, call, pics, whatzapp, fb usage all day long Yeah, it depends what rom and kernel, but in general it is very good (used on HarshJelly and CarbonKitKat)
