[THEME] Heromate for Floyo 1.3.0 [04/12/2011] - Hero, G2 Touch Themes and Apps

My very first theme. This is a port of shiftedx's Minimal Matte. Mixed with some Gingerbread, IceCreamSandwich and another stuffs from everywhere.
If you guys find something weird please tell me and I will fix it as soon as possible.
I recommend to use ClockworkMod recovery as I haven't tested it on AmonRa. Anyways the .zip is signed so it should work too.
How to apply:
1) Boot to recovery
2) Flash cache and dalvik
3) Place Heromate_Floyo_1.3.0_signed.zip and the CMTheme folder inside the CMTheme.zip on the root of your Sdcard.
4) Flash Heromate_Floyo_1.3.0_signed.zip
5) Reboot
6) Go to "Settings/Cyanogenmod/User Interface/Tweak Extras/Select a theme" and select Heromate
7) Reboot
7.x) Customize your Launcher and Wallpaper with the files inside Extras.zip
8) Enjoy
Themed stuff:
Framework (Gb lockscreen, buttons, pulldown bar, notification bar...)
Dialer
Browser (reverted to original Floyo)
Gallery3D (just the icon)
GenieWidget mod from Elelinux's Speedmachine
Phone (just the icon again)
Settings (icons too)
Gingerbread and ICS fonts
Custom dock for Launcher
Extras:
Wallpaper
Custom dock and icons for Launcher
The theme: Heromate
Changelog:
[03/12/2011]
First release
[04/12/2011]
Updated! now the notifications and the pulldown are more darker (see last screenshot). It just changes the framework, if this is your first time and you want the other stuff (dialer, geniewidget...) just flash the update over the theme.
And some screens:

waw
Hey bro thanks! This is cool. I like it!

Congratz, man You've actually done all the small things i think about, but never do xD like setting the meizu dock background in the launcher apk and such

No dude I didn't push the dock to the apk, it's in the Extras folder. But I have to admit I have thought about that too XD

I have the original recovery, how can I install the theme?
Sent from my HTC Hero using Tapatalk

The original? Then you cannot possible have installed Floyo 1.3? It should work on both Amon_RA and CWM i guess
---------- Post added at 12:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:20 PM ----------
BTW I just found out that I'm actually using Floyo 1.3, so why not try some1 else's theme for once xD

I have installed floyo 1.3.0 VLC with original recovery. This rom should be compatible with this theme or not?
Sent from my HTC Hero using Tapatalk

The theme shall work, but there's no such thing as "original recovery". Either you have clockworkmod or you have Amon_Ra. It should work anyway

As Habarug says, if you came trought Floyo 1.3.0 VLC you should be on AmonRa or ClockworkMod, which means you can flash the theme freely.
By the way, the theme is updated, see changelog

& put in on your sd card [ make sure no other files on your sd card are called update.zip ]
boot into your recovery

and boot into recovery again if it dose't reboot into the new recovery automatically then take the battery out when its done flashing and boot into recovery using * Home * + * Power Button *
This recovery is RA Recovery and works fine

woah :O do you even got root in the rom it self.
if so install rom manager from the market and then install clockwork recovery from that app. If you do not have root, folow this to install a recovery to get root.

I do not know if that will work if he does not have root itself

This theme is awesome. I will make a few changes to it tomorow and upload the framework for it. I had the idea to make the theme all gray. the music volume the bars. everything and I will also make one that keeps the yelow but make the volume bar yellow to and not green like itis now
But that will come tomorow.

My PC just crashed so I need to fix that before I can do anything at all so it will come later

[/QUOTE]I do not know if that will work if he does not have root itself[/QUOTE]
Surely if he's installing a theme for 1.3.0 Floyo he must have root for him to install the rom anyway

It would be great if you make that with the volume bars! I wanted to, but I don't know how. Really, thanks

So thank you I followed your guide, I installed the RA recovery but I have not obtained permission to root despite the procedure went well

So you are on AmonRa right now? did you flashed the SuperUser addon on Lirasina's rom? I think maybe you are missing that. Anyways to flash a theme you don't need to be root, you can try to flash the zip straight with the instructions on the first post.

I did not understand this step:
3) Place the CMTheme Heromate_Floyo_1.3.0_signed.zip and inside the folder on the root of CMTheme.zip your sdcard.

Two zips. Heromate_Floyo_1.3.0_signed.zip and CMTheme.zip
Put the first zip on your scard as it is.
Put the folder inside the second one on the scard. The one named "CMTheme".

How to install google addon to a ROM?

Hello, I installed CyanogenMod 5.0 lastnight and the market and a few other applications are not there, im guessing that is the google addon can anyone tell me in detail how to install that? Thanks
You need to flash to ER27 Google add on pack here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623496
Current link: http://www.mediafire.com/file/jmmzywtlnjd/gapps-passion-ERE27-2-signed.zip
thanks...How do i flash it?
I would like to know also. I've gone into recovery and added the file to the SD card than tried to run it, only to tell it me it's not a zip. So I renamed it and also tried compressing it as zip(just to make sure) and I get an error.
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted
Download the add on from that page listed, place it on the root of your sdcard, reboot into recovery, flash it in recovery (the same way you flashed the ROM, but do not wipe), then reboot your phone.
That is exactly what I did. I sent a pm w/ more details. I tried covering all grounds just to make sure if one failed the other one would'nt.
Edit: Should USB debugging be on/off? Don't know if that makes a difference
Edit: Figured it out. Everytime i would downlad the file on my mac it would not be a .zip file so renaming it and compressing it did nothing. I downloaded it on my pc and voila, it works fine..weird...

This is because you enable auto open files in Safari. The actual zip file is in your Trash lol.
To disable it (and u should), open Preferences > General > Uncheck Open "safe" file after downloading

How to install the Google Addon?
You have to change the name of the file (ex: "gapps-mdpi-20101020-signed.zip") to "update.zip". Move it to your SDcard and then install from recovery.

You don't need to be in "Debuggin mode", neither to rename to "update.zip".. Just use ROM manager provided by cyanogenmod and go wiki :

Hello Dacid1171,
I installed Cyanogenmod 7.0.0, with no google apps of course.
I used gapps-gb-20110307-signed pack, went to recovery and chose "Install from SD card", just like I would if I was flashing new ROM.
After that the phone wouldn't book. Logo of cyanogenmod would appear with the circular arrow moving around it, after 3 round it stops and restarts all over.
It was kept that way for a very long time hoping that the phone will come to life. It wouldn't.
What did I do wrong?

Flash cm7 rom again follow by the gapps than reboot.

installing theme with clockworkmod recovery

Hi,
i am trying to install `ginger azure` theme for my galaxy s, i have clockworkmod installed and i can reboot into it, i have moved the theme file onto my internal phone drive and i havent renamed it,
my question is i cannot see it in the recovery list when i reboot? i only see `update.zip` and i dont want to use this incase its something else
should i not be able to see the filename as it is i.e `ginger azure`
if there is a thread about this somewhere please post a link and apologies

you have to choose option install zip from sdcard when in CWM and there you should see folders and zip files of your internal sdcard
Hi,
thanks for you reply, i choose install from sdcard and i did see the theme there so installed it but my phone would not boot up past `spalsh screen` and kept vibrating,
i had to reinstall my firmware to get the phone working again

[UPDATED MAY.11.2011]Collection of Mods for Desire HD ROMs [Contributions Welcome!!]

What we have here is a custom battery indicator for Desire HD ROMs.
It has been designed to look as close to stock as possible but has that extra special little something to make it stand out from the crowd. You'll see that this battery indicator mod is unlike most in that it offers the best of both worlds. It has the both a percentage indicator as well as a nice smooth charging animation. If you have a Desire HD, or a Desire HD based ROM on your device and like that stock look, you can't go wrong with my mod.
NOTE: The first upload, the one that does NOT say "GB.Sense" has only been tested on 1.84 based Desire HD ROMS and I can only guarantee it to work for users using a 1.84 based Desire HD ROM. Because I used the framework-res.apk from the 1.84 ROM, it may not work properly on other builds. If you decide to test it on an older build such as 1.32 or 1.72, please report your results.
NOTE 2: The 2nd file attached, the one that DOES say "GB.Sense", is for GingerSense builds. It has been built using files from the 2.36.405.8 build and only tested on CMYLXGO's Gingersense ROM. Please test and report your results on other builds.
NOTE 3: This is a complete framework-res.apk file. If you have a custom theme installed that includes the framework-res.apk file, this will revert your framework back to stock with only the custom battery indicator.
This includes:
1. Battery percentages from 0-100%
2. Smooth charging animation - looks MUCH nicer when charging.
3. Super simple update.zip that works EVERY SINGLE TIME
4. Does not affect the APN
5. Only shows percentage when NOT charging. When plugged in all you see is smooth charging animation.

Installation:
1. Reboot your device and hold power key to enter MAGLDR.
2. Enter AD Recovery(option 8?)
3. Install zip from SD card
4. Browse to the zip and install.
5. Reboot back into Android and enjoy.

In this post, you'll find a small update that will change the notification bubbles for the HTC Mail and Messaging apps.
In the 1.84 builds, HTC changed the way the notification bubbles appeared on the Mail and Messaging apps. They changed it from a green dot with a nice gradient to a black dot with a green ring around it.
This update will change them back to the original style green notification bubbles that actually match the rest of the notification bubbles and color scheme in the ROM.
NOTE: I took the MMS and Mail.apk's from the 1.84 build and therefore this MOD will not work on another build without bugs. To further my point, the older 1.32 and 1.72 builds already have green notification bubbles like depicted below.
NOTE2: This will NOT delete any of your settings/emails/messages when installing the update.

This includes:
1. MMS.apk and Mail.apk from 1.84 Desire HD ROM
2. Modified images to blend in and better match with the rest of the ROM.

As some of you may have noticed, that nifty "Advanced Power Menu" isn't really available as an update.zip for those of us using 1.84.661.1 builds. Well now that's a problem of the past because I present you with a fully functional Advanced Power Menu for builds based on the 1.84.661.1 Desire HD ROM.
NOTE: This will not affect anything on your device other than the menu that appears when you long-press the Red End Call Button.
NOTE2: It might take a long time for your device to boot back up into Android after installing this update. Be patient. It is rebuilding your Dex files and will boot soon.
This includes:
1. Modified android.policy.jar from 1.84.661.1 Desire HD ROM
2. 7 options instead of 3 - See screenshot
3. Hot reboot option when pressing restart from Power Menu
4. All options work perfectly.

I really hope you're kidding but just in case.. I updated the OP. You'll install it via Clockwork Mod Recovery.
I tried both with cmylxgo's 1.1.7 on my TMO HD2 (using clockwork, of course ) and they both caused a reboot loop. I'd love to have battery percentage w/o an extra app.

Have you tried clearing the cache and dalvik cache after installing the mods? Or installing them after flashing the ROM, before booting for the first time?

Hmmm. That didn't occur to me. I'll try and report back. Thanks.
EDIT: Strange indeed! It reboot looped after each of three attempts yesterday. I did it again just now and it worked this time. On a hunch I did it without clearing the caches. I was having root problems when I was installing yesterday, could that have interfered?

It's always possible that a preexisting issue could cause more issues as a chain reaction type deal. See the way I do it is this:
1. Backup my phone 100%
2. Install new ROM(Wipes data and everything else)
3. Install my 2 fixes above immediately after ROM Flash finishes.
4. Using CWM, restore data.
This way I end up with the most recent build, the most recent fixes and never lose anything.
anyway to get this... for people with sd builds?
i just need these !thanks
Cool Mods.. thanks a lot for this.. i will check it out!

I have implemented script, that would allow copying files to system easily, you won't have to know where to copy your file, either in app_r, or app.
How to use:
1) create 'root' folder on your sd card
2) create folder directory structure under it, where files should be copied
Examples:
1) need to modify framework-res in /system/framework, i should:
a) create 'root' folder on sd card
b) create 'system' folder inside 'root'
c) create 'framework' folder inside 'system'
d) put framework-res into 'framework' folder
e) reboot
2) need to put some file to /data, i should:
a) create 'root' folder on sdcard
b) create 'data' folder inside 'root'
c) put needed file there
d) reboot
Please, make sure 'root' folder is removed from sdcard after boot! Remove it manually if it hasn't been removed.

Can easily replace the framework-res.apk by creating a root folder with following structure:
root/system/framework/framework-res.apk

I'd appreciate some help please !!!
EDIT 2:
THE CORRECT BATH TO PUT THE framework-res is:
root\sd-ext\sys-parts\framework_r
and no need to copy the META-INF folder any where ... Thank you

you have the modded re CWMR installed correct? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=942021
did you apply the SC v2.9.1 patch after flashing SC v2.9? if not go ahead and do that http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=983395
download the zip file, when finished used an app like androzip file explorer and go into sd card folder 'download' and move the file you downloaded out of the folder and onto the root menu of your sd card
exit androzip
reboot into recovery in the power options menu
wipe cache and dalvik cache in advanced
choose install from sd card
choose the zip you want to install
choose yes to install zip
when finished just reboot
use vol up and vol down to navigate CWMR and use the camera button to select and menu soft button to go backwards a menu
This is the standard install instructions for patches and themes
Haha no worries. We were all like that at one point in this android modding game. You'll get there soon and you'll be flashing roms, themes, and kernels all the time. Pm me if u need further assistance.
1) download theme
2) apply .zip file to sd card
3) assuming you already have cwm installed.... Power phone off and then power back on holding down the volume rocker and power button and then release
4) scroll down using volume rocker to install .zip from sd card
5) navigate to your downloaded .zip theme that you applyed to your sd and then select it by using the power button
6) select install (yes)
7) go back to the main cwm screen by pressing the search soft key button on your bottom right
8) reboot phone
hope that helps some. I'm typing this from my phone so I hope I got everything correct.
also be aware of what version of cwr you are using...the vast majority of themes use amend scripts whereas cwr 3.0 only can work with edify scripts....you ll need voodoo or older nonvoodoo recovery to flash these
im pretty sure i have clockwork i download and did the steps on this Super Clean version 2.9 - EB01/EB16 Froyo leak root+Froyo Clockworkmodwith MALWARE protectionthats what i got probaly didnt come with flash . i am pretty green at this stuff. lol
Looks like tapout got to it before me. Guess I need to brush up on my swyping skills. Lol. Good tutorial tapout. Well put. I wasnt able to link to any threads cuz im using the app but they are easy to find on here. Good luck and happy themeing!
im try to put nitrodark on my phone i have the nitrodark 3.0 zip on my phone i didnt extact it am i supoosed to. then went into recovery and tred to install . it says e: failed to open/sdcard/update zip no such file. am i puting oit in the wrong place.
No, don't extract the zip file. You need to select the nitrodark.zip file on your SD card before you say Install file. It won't automatically select the file you want for you.

Did you rename the file to update.zip and place it in the root of your sd card? If not, you will nerd to select the option to install from zip and then select the zip where it its located on your sd card.

So if you renamed nitrodark.zip and put it in the root of the sd card like Nitsuj said, choose "apply update.zip" from the main clockwork recovery menu. If you didn't rename and move the zip file, choose "install zip from sd card" and go to the "download" folder, and select your nitrodark.zip file. If you are running the stock browser, the zip file will be there.
Another Fascinating post by my XDA app...
I do that and it shows a triangle and the android like something is wrong. When I go to install from sd card. Never get to the folders.

How exactly did you manage to install superclean using Odin? I didn't see any Odin file on adrynalyne's superclean thread, and Odin does not let you choose a .zip file from the PDA button.

How to change ROM Easily
Answer is Mik's new-baseband-patch
In past if you wanted to install any Custom ROM after you flashed official 2.3.3, you had to use KDZ tool to go back to Official 2.2 to get the network working.
but now you can easily flash any custom ROM by recovery. and if you do not see network(as you won't) then flash new-baseband-patch and bingo now you have signal....
BTW If you face any GSM or DATA related Issue after flashing this patch then report this to mik not me........

It is already written here? "My" ROM is a stock rooted LG v20g with a2sd, no other changes done.
This may sound stupid but why can't you just flash the ROM why all these steps also can you add any other mods after you flash the rom??? Like franco tweaks or ungazes data2sd????

This ROM is an official one that's why I won't flash it. LG will never be better than mik, andy or franco. However, I have a question : where can I find the icon's of the settings app from your ROM ? I like them and I want to modify a little mik's ROM to add these icons for myself
