you can program everything and write prl but in nv only the meid wrong this phone has meid pesn and imei in nv only meid shows as wat is really the imei and esn is different in nv only oh and if you take the sim out before you program it has no signal but after you write prl it does get signal i can dial out and all and when i program everything sticks my problems is i dont know how to get it on metropcs network the meid is not really a meid number its 990000832785887

I didn't think of changing it to nv, let me look into that meid, I've seen a weird meid on a previous phone I cloned, I wonder if its similar..

No offense but why do people want to take nice phones and gimp them on MetroPCS? The service is garbage. If you want prepaid, then get it flashed to PagePlus if anything (many times you don't even need to flash anything, it will just work after activating and programming OTA). There are a couple decent phones on Metro (LG Connect or LG Esteem, namely), it's easier (and probably cheaper) than getting a Verizon phone finally working on their network properly.

Well from previously working for MetroPCS, i can honesty say there are some area other carriers don't have any service in that metro does because they have their own towers, and if there in MetroPCS 3g coverage then i don't see how they would "gimp" there phone plus if they wanna pay 1/3 of there monthly price on Verizon i don't see why not..
An alternative people could use is unlocking there bionic and use a prepaid gsm carrier like simple mobile.

Simple Mobile is also pretty terrible (I am a Simple Mobile dealer myself). Does Metro even actually have 3G? I remember when their 4G LTE started (which from my testing is slower than Sprint's 3G coverage), they only had 1x and 4G, but no 3G.

Different radio band with, you can't make it run on the different frequency otherwise people would be using Sprint phone's or ATT phone's on Verizon, or visa-versa all the time. Networks install different radio bandwidths in the devices so you can use a phone that they can guarantee you have a signal depending on their coverage area. Not sure but pretty safe to say here to achieve that in a device made specificly for Verizon not gonna be possible. Correct me if I'm wrong by all means but haven't seen anyone do that yet.

It's simply not possible. The radio frequencies of a GSM network (AT&T, T-Mobile) cannot be detected by the antennas of a CDMA phone (Verizon, Sprint, cricKet) without hardware modification among other things. It's like expecting to get 4G out of a 3G phone; not to mention the network encryption and MID issues.

I was under the impression that the Verizon LTE phones had their CDMA authentication modified to use the SIM card for authentication as opposed to the IMEI as in non LTE phones. They also modified their 3G network to use SIM based authentication for 3G data as opposed to IMEI. If this is true it would prevent you from accessing the 3G CDMA based data network because the phone would be passing SIM based authentication for data and the network was expecting IMEI based authentication. In theory you could flash a different radio firmware if you can find it to correct this... but currently as Verizon is the only carrier of this phone I do not believe there are any alternative radio firmwares available. Community....please correct me if i am wrong but this is my understanding.

You can use QPST to set it to NV only.
You can attempt to use QPST, however it would not accept the change. I did it using cdma workshop 2.7

the droid razr and droid 4 are basicly exactly the same phone. I used the info in this post (and the links in post #5) to switch my droid 4 over to pageplus. I have had 3g data, MMS and talk all working fine for a couple months now.

Need Help
Is everything the same on the Droid 4? I'll pay somebody to do it for me! I'll pay to ship the phone or whatever. I never have too great of luck with the CDMA Workshop or QPST. I DO know how to access the User activation and everything on the phone with the ##PROGRAM then press send and put in the 000000. Any help would be greatly appreciated from anybody. I just got my Droid 4 in the mail today and called Page Plus to activate only to have them tell me LTE couldnt be flashed to Page Plus. What if I called them and used the IMEI and dropped off the last number? Would that work if I just called them and gave them that? HELP! LOL!

[Q] Can I use D4 on gsm network?

I use unlocked D3 but this device is 512MB ram also there is no official ICS(no flash reader, no camcorder). If I can use D4 on gsm network, I'll upgrade!
from my DROID3 using xda app-developers app
Yes you can, but currently only with the leaked ICS firmwares. The stock gingerbread firmware does not allow it. Supposedly the official ICS firmware is due in Q3 2012
I made a thread here with instructions on how to do it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766479

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Should be, the esn is usually used to activate cdma, for gsm you only have to activate a sim card and put it in...

Almost the answer I was looking for.
So could someone confirm this:
Bad esn doesn't affect calling via a SIMcard?
I know it's a very old thread, but worth trying..
ESN's and IMEI numbers are used for GSM phones(AT&T, T-Mobile and now Verizon also). MEID numbers are used with CDMA phones(Verizon,Sprint) and just because the phone has ics or jb doesn't mean it's unlocked. You still have to install a different sim card and put in an unlock code which you can get from Verizon if you are with them or pay for it online somewhere. Once the new sim card is installed into phone and the unlock code is entered, the phone will state that your device has been unlocked. Unlocking phones is mainly for overseas use outside of the US. I have much experience with this as I served in the U.S. military for 10 years and I took my old phone over with me. Upon arrival in the new country, you set up cell service with a GSM provider, install their sim card and viola! Hope I could clear this up for you guys! Not trying to sound mean, just informative.
EDIT: Bad ESN's or MEID's can be a bad thing but some can be changed or flashed over with new one's from third party service providers like PagePlus Cellular, etc.

[q] how can i enable mms and lte for at&t?

I have a verizon note 3 sm-n900v that I want to use on AT&T. I have rooted it and accessed the service mode screen and enabled b4. I have set up the APN and I am able to send and receive texts and make and receive calls. My data works, but it is on H and H+. I can not get on LTE or send MMS messages....can someone please help me?!
I have read that AT&T runs on a different LTE band, so I am just checking to see if this is true and also ask that if I pay for a factory unlock if it will fix it so that it operates the way it is supposed to.
Thanks

Well Verizon is CDMA where att is GSM, totally different and not sure it is even possible.. Odd that you can even see it.. this is probably your issue. Only other provider I think you can fully work on is sprint (and other mini ones that are CDMA)

actually tmobile works fine on it. You can switch the APN to gsm and it works just fine. The verizon note 3 is the only one that came factory unlocked to run on any network...you just need to tweak the settings.
