Coming from HTC Desire Hd I find the vibration quite weak and I've missed quite a few calls and as for sms it is so short I almost never feel it. Any similar experiences? Is there any possibility my unit is defected?
this is also my biggest problem with the note. hopefully with a case, some thickness will be achieved and I will feel the vibrations.
I come from a HTC Touch Pro (Windows Mobile) and the vibration is really a lot weaker then the vibrate from my Touch Pro and also a lot shorter for most of the alarms.
As i believe the vibration intensity can not be changed as this is hardware. Maybe we can make the vibration longer somehow?
Best would be to set the vibration length etc. for every single alarm event?
I miss so many settings from my windows mobile device in android.
Try:Settings>Sound>Viberation intensity

yes. thanks but i already found that setting and everything is on the highest setting for me but it is still a lot weaker then Touch Pro.
But i think i can live with this.
Also it seems the Google Mail App (not the normal E-Mail App ) does not support vibration at all?

Hello,
A hope a RAZR I owner can help me: I think about changing my Samsung S2 i9100 to a Motorola RAZR I because 1. I hate Samsung's interface 2. when I install cyanogenmod S2's vibration is pretty weak.
How does RAZR I's vibrator compare to HTC's metal phones (HTC One/HTC One S/HTC One X) or Samsung Galaxy S2/Note?
(the vibrator it's really important for me because I work in a (almost) no noise environment and I keep my phone on vibrate all day; weak vibration -> lots of missed calls)
Thanks,
Dan.
The Razr I has a great vibration strengh, I had a Nexus S before and it has a really huge difference btw them
The Razr doesn't let you miss a text message or wathever
Even if it's weak, i think you can change it's strenght...
The stock vibration strength is ok, but not average. I use the app "vibation notifier", you can adjust how often and how strong the phone should vibrate. It´s free and it works perfect.
[Q] Do you guys get a noise when the vibration motor "vibrates" when typing?
So when I'm typing at all. The vibration motor makes a like scratching noise and doesn't vibrate but when say I call it. It'll vibrate normally. Is this normal?

Some of the Nexus 5 devices have this too. Some consider it a defect, and some dont. If you dislike it, I would just exchange device for a new one.

I'm noticing this, too. I also saw a similar post on the nexus 6 subreddit.
Can more owners of the Nexus 6 chime in? Is this a defect or normal?
Mine does it as well - I think it's normal. Probably the camera lens.
Mine too
The vibrator in this phone is really loud. If it is a ticking sound I agree that it is probably the OIS parts in the camera making noise as they move around since the motors appears to be near the camera. IF you shake your phone you might be able to hear it as well and a lot of people think that's a defect when they've not use a device with OIS before.
Occasionally once I start typing a lot, yes. I just turned the vibration length down in the keyboard settings... helped somewhat.
Ah so this one also must have cheap vibrator like n5. I wished it had Samsung like one. Bad..
I had to exchange my first N6 for a new one due to the sensors failing. My original one did exactly this, it was driving me nuts. My new one does not though.
Mine is loud but it doesn't rattle anything
Mine is loud also. Noticeable while in a quiet room. Nothing seems broken but I hate it drives me nuts. Other then that phone is great
On the first generation nexus 5, I've observed this. The culprit was the loose physical buttons. Do check the same on the nex6 as well.
Changing the orientation of the phone usually helps.
Yeah I was just thinking today how ****ty mine sounds when I'm in a quiet environment. I turned off my feedback for the keyboard . Went back to my M8 and that vibration is solid when typing.
I've returned att n6 for vibrator rattle. I am not exchanging it becuz I don't want to play return game. I am really disapponted for this price they used cheap vibrator like N5. I am done.
Anybody doesn't hear rattle I quiet environment?
Mine is loud also.
Had the same problem on my first n6. The second one is MUCH better!
I'm not talking about loud vibrator. Something's rattling while vibrating in quiet environment. You hear it.
I notice this too when I use haptic feedback on my Nexus 6. I hear a click/rattle or something coming from the top speaker. It's kinda annoying in a quiet environment.
It only happens when it vibrates quickly (i.e. typing with haptic feedback on). I don't hear it when there's a longer vibration (i.e. incoming message/phone call). Either that, or the vibration is so powerful/loud it's overcoming the rattle.
I'm going to the AT&T store after work that has a Nexus 6 demo model. I'll compare it with that and report back with my findings.
Mine seems to have this issue too. I can hear some noises when I'm typing with haptic feedback on. Not a big issue to me too since I dislike typing with haptic feedback.
Hi, anyone out there experiencing weak vibration on z3 compact. Is there anyway that we can increase vibration intensity on this phone, i cant even feel it vibrate in my jeans.
When walking around with it in your pocket I don't think you could feel it in your pants easily. The vibration on the phone, even when maxed out is pretty weak.
I think it's just a hardware design that had to suffer due to the compact design.
I agree that the vibration is fairly subtle, but part of me likes this. Though I do miss texts more frequently than with my previous phone (HTC One Mini), it also is far less annoying when it's sitting on a table. The One Mini would be too disturbing in this situation, while the Z3C is quiet - especially useful in a meeting or even at home when your significant other is trying to sleep.
If you are missing notifications, try modifying the vibration length/pattern to something more noticeable. This works well in messaging apps like Textra.
Thank you guys for you reply, appreciate.
Sent from my z3 Compact.
You're right, i do miss alot notifications, such as whatsapp, wechat, etc. Do u hav any recommend apps to increase length and intensity of vibration without root.

Hello,
is it possible to change the vibration strength?
In my opinion the vibration is too much, it is hearable for my working collegues.
Maybe if I root the smartwatch? Or exist an app for this 'problem?'
I would like to have an app where I can customize the motor from for example 80% to 40% or something like that.
If there is no solution, I think I have to sell the smartwatch and buy another model - like Fossil Q.
Please help.
Thanks in advance.

Here is exactly what you need.
At the play store there is a app called "feel the wear" it has a lot of
settings and options for vibration strength and pattern.
It also has a built-in notify features which optionally can add audio
to the notification vibrations and much more.
It's really a must have tool.
Check it out, here is the link to the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sk.martinflorek.wear.feelthewear
Good luck, have a great day!
Thank you. I've already found this app but where is the option to set the strength of the vibration?
I've would like to reduce the strength of the vibration because it is too heavy and too loud.
It would be nice, if the strength is at 50% instead of 100%.
Do you know what I mean?

Swipe the screen to the right side as far as you can in the phone,
All those options are located on the left side of the phone's screen,
it displays all the apps in your phone and each one you want to
communicate with the watch has it's own vibration and sound
settings including pattern, duration strength volume controls
which can be different for each app you want the watch to
communicate with when there is a notification.
You can also set it up for "Global" which makes all the notifications
the same.
Good luck, have a great day!
Is it necessary to buy the App, to use these features?
In my free version I could not find the option to change the vibration strength.
The only option which I can see is the pattern 'Short, Very Shot, Long, 2 x Long' and so on.
Hi
I have noticed that the haptic feedback is extremely weak, to the point where I started to miss my calls.
There isn't any setting that increases the intensity.
Is there some magisk module or something that fixes this issue?
Have you come across this problem?
Thanks.
P.S. I'm on ArrowsOS 12.1 vanilla.
Yes really weak. there is a setting but even when put on max its very weak

Can you tell me the name of the setting?
Sound and vibration - haptic feedback level

Haptic feedback isn't the same as incoming call vibration. Which you want to change?

If the strength is already at max level, then its pathetic! I would take strong haptics over 120 hz screen any day of the week.

Maybe get rid of ur Rom when its this limited everywhere?! Derpfest has so many settings, options, and and and that i didnt had the time to study everything it offers. Simple too much...
I guess the haptics are modifiable and strong in derpfest?
Yes and yes.
Hi All,
I am also having this issue with weak haptic feedback.
in the sounds and vibration settings level for haptic feedback is full(highest level) but pressing the back button / taking screenshot / keep pressing volume button + to the max to engage the feedback / pressing the onscreen home button to engage haptic / etc all feels weak like level it is stuck a level one.
I turned off the haptic feedback option in settings / restart my phone still the same
NOW, BUT, i am using a MS Swiftkey keyboard. When i went to the settings of the Swiftkey keyboard and set the option to use it's own settings for the haptic feedback - set it at low to med settings for the haptic feedback feels strong (or the one im used too.)
im using Poco F2 Pro with MIUI 14.0.1.0 Global Stable (SJKMIXM) with Android 12 SKQ1.211006.001
i tried also the factory test (where you input those magic code - im using hidden settings app) to test the vibration (hardware) on my phone and works fine.
to sum up:
- the "android" haptic feedback that is located in settings > sounds and vibration is not working (feels like it is stuck at level 1 even though it is on highest level)
- MS Swiftkey Keyboard haptic feedback works fine and have no issue typing with haptic on feels strong
- factory test the vibrator (using magic hidden settings app) vibrator works fine feels strong.
???ANY IDEA HOW TO FIX W/O DOING FACTORY RESET???
???COULD THIS BE THE THEMES I APPLIED USING THE XIAOMI THEME APP???(MIGHT BE POSSIBLE MIGHT NOT BE THE ROOT CAUSE AS THERE ARE THEMES NOT COMPATIBLE ANYMORE WITH MIUI 14.)
attached screenshot - 1.jpg is the haptic for Android - not working / feels weak / looks like stuck at level 1
attached screenshot - 2.jpg is the MS Swiftkey haptic feedback settings and works fine on the keyboard typing / feels strong
You are right. swiftkey vibration is stronger so the real vibration isn't so weak.
I think that it is kernel problem and we are unable to change vibration density with stock kernel with app's like kernel auditor and i didn't find any magisk module for that.
Also i don't know if changing kernel will be a problem with my touchscreen drivers
my phone is giving weak haptics since the previous miui version. however the strength seems to change time to time automatically. maybe its a weird miui implementation to slow down wear and tear of the vibration actuator.
