Hey, I've searched and come up fruitless. I thought I'd try it here.
I work in a data center environment and oddly we have customers running wireless networks in the data center. This makes my phone pop up 'multiple wireless networks detected' quite frequently and I always have to dismiss... but later on it always comes back up (even if I click 'don't show this again')
Any method to stop the notifications? I suppose I could disable WLAN, but if I could disable notifications that'd be best.
All you have to do is instead of clicking dismiss on the left corner of the screen click menu to the right and click the do not notify button. It might not say do not notify but it should be close to that.
That or go to sounds and notifications -> notifications ->wireless network detected uncheck everything there

Has no (apparant) effect.
Well thats not true as it's quieter(!), but the on screen message still pops up.
Try This
Here is a program i made that fixes this problem for the HTC touch pro, let me know if it works on your device.

Welcome, and thank you I love you, I be a friend Najeeb from Yemen
I think I've seen screen shots of the Zune tile acting as a live tile and showing a pic of maybe your last artist played or something.
Mine never seems to do that? Do you need to do something for that to happen? I use my Zune player on my HD7 regularly.
It only changes when you stream some music using Zune pass or when you preview music in the Marketplace.
I have a album cover with all my music and it is a real shame that non of this shows on the tile.
I do not have a zune pass and the tile usually shows the last artist I played.
Hi,
See this:
http://www.zuneboards.com/forums/progress/50140-zune-social-tagger-2-0-a.html
I'm using version 2.1 since 2.2 doesn't show any artists for my albums.
But even in 2.1 I have problems to link albums, he shows me the correct album, I make the link but nothing happens.
Maybe someone could try this.
Install in the Zune directory of your PC

I had a feeling it had some connection to the Zune pass. Well it's not worth $50-$150 to me show a picture in the zune tile. Makes more sense if it was the last played artist or the most played. Or a paused song perhaps..
Go to settings=music+videos connect to Zune make sure its on.......i don't have a Zune pass and the live tile works for me.

Tried it and didn't seem to do anything.
1) Went to Music & Videos
2) Plugged in HD7 via usb
3) Zune opened and showed my phone status
Anything I'm missing?

Strange when I go to this setting there is nothing but:
"Zune Account Settings"
Then I click it and it opens IE and takes me to log in to my Zune/Live account. I log in then I see "my account- account summary".
If I go to "music+videos" while plugged in it says it's syncing with Zune.

I don't even have that option. And yes it's not plugged in. Just says "Zune Account Settings" and like I said when clicking it IE opens up to take me to a web page.
I'm thinking there's some kind of steps I have to take before I get to this stage.

Well I've definitely synced some music/videos/pictures already
The linking option in Zune is also disabled for me by default.
I even went to the settings on my g/f's LG Optimus 7 and she has the same thing as me in "Music + Videos" which is "Zune Account Settings".
So clearly I'm missing a step, we just don't know what it is.

So u definitely don't have the option that says connect to Zune you only have the option that says "Zune account setting" there nothing above it.
For what its worth, I just checked on mine and I have the same thing, just "Zune Account Settings". Maybe its something region/geo based?

Thanks profets for confirming I'm not a complete idiot lol. Needed to know I wasn't the only seeing this. You're probably right.
But since you joined in do you see a picture on your Zune tile?
lol... no worries. Same here though, no pics or changes at all to the Zune tile.

Same thing here. No option to connect to zune.
Some websites I visit using the honeycomb browser identify the nook as a mobile device and, thus, launch a mobile page. Is there a work around for this? I could have sworn there used to be a setting in froyo but I can't even find it on my phone now so I have no idea where that was before.
Thanks!
tried this but it didn't seem to change anything:
to change the user agent to desktop in the stock browser, type this in the address bar:
about:debug

debug may not be part of the preview sdk
Use an alternate browser for desktop mode until the full 3.0 AOSP is available
about:debug does work. type it in the address bar, hit enter and it opens up a debug section in the settings menu. from there you can change your user agent setting to desktop

figured it out!! i thought an actual debug screen was supposed to pop up so assumed it didn't work. re-read what you said, went into settings, and there it was! nice! thanks!
Two things on the stock browser:
A: it does have a memory leak, be forewarned, I found it using 175Mb of ram sometimes.
Do enable the edge screen controls, that is something I bet apple is kicking themselves over, that is awesome.

First you have to open the hidden menu. To open the hidden menu go to your dial pad and dial 3845#*506#. it will open automatically. Scroll all the way to the bottom and open connectivity test. then you will see an option that says entitlement Enable/Disable. Uncheck this box and close out of the hidden menu. Now go to settings then wireless & networks then tethering and portable hotspot. check the option that says USB Tethering and check option below that says portable wifi hotspot. Go into the portable wifi hotspot settings and make sure portable wifi hotspot is checked. the option below that opens a menu that allows you to configure security. open it and put in a password for your wifi or select open. You can now use your Lg Thrive as a Wifi Hotspot or tether via USB. ENJOY!!!
If you dont know about a setting, research it or you risk making parts of your phone not functional. The hidden menu can be used to change things like UAstring, set fast dormancy, allow multiple pdp mode, change network mode, and others. this may work for other phones as well. to get into it on another phone dial 3845#*(your model number(should be 3 numbers) then #. the menu should open automatically. Im not sure of what phones this works on. but know it does work on phones similar to the Thrive. i will post the menus to go into to change other options as well. Hope this was helpful

The hidden menu ONLY works on stock/stock-based ROMs. (with HiddenMenu.apk installed). No, it does not work on CM7, do not even bother.
if they put a copy of the hiddenmenu.apk in there system file would it install it? its not an installable apk. its just in the app file in system folder. might just be lg software. if anyone wants to try it i will post a copy.

Can Tasker automate the abling and disabling of a security PIN for unlocking the phone? For example, while at home I would like to have no screen lock, but while out I would like more security and so would like a PIN to be required for accessing the phone. Thanks in advance.

When I'm off work later tonight I can post step by step instructions. Do you have wifi at home? Because I have mine set so that it knows I'm at home when I'm connected to my home wifi.
thats exactly what I want! I would appreciate it very much!
1. Create new profile - name it whatever you want
2. Under First Context choose State > Net > Wifi Connected
3. Under SSID input your home wifi's network name or if connected to it then just hit the magnifying lens in the upper right and select your home network and hit the green checkmark at the bottom to save it
4. Choose New Task and name it whatever you want.
5. Hit the plus sign to add a new action and choose Plugin > Secure Settings
6. Now hit Edit under Configuration and change Keyguard to either password/pin or pattern lock (depending on what security you've choosen) and select Off (I also check the setting where I've got to enter in my pass code once before it will unlock but that's up to you) and then hit the disk icon in the bottom right to save it and again confirm that you want to save it.
7. Hit the green checkmark again and also on the next screen.
8. Then click on the action you created and choose Add Exit Task and repeat the steps starting at step 4 but this time under Password/Pin or Pattern Lock choose On.
9. Then just keep hitting the green checkmarks until you exit out of Tasker.
I typed this out on my phone on the bus ride home so let me know if it's not clear or I missed a step. And you will need to first install Secure Settings that I linked to earlier.
Awesome, thanks for posting that! I haven't used Tasker, or Locale or any other automating app, so I'm curious, why would one choose Tasker over Locale? I just have a few simple things i want to automate (though that list could grow once I get into it).

I've never used Locale but before I bought Tasker I read a few reviews comparing the two and it seems that Locale is more user friendly but Tasker is more powerful. But for most everyday uses Locale will probably work fine.

I did exactly as you said and i can't get it to work. Did you clear the lock settings in security before doing this or keep that? Also what rom are you using, that may be the problem for me (elite ics).
I've tried setting a lock, and then connecting to wifi but lock doesn't go away. I also tried having no lock set and turning off wifi, but the lock doesn't show up on the screen.

I didn't think to add that you've also gotta open Secure Settings and select the Helper tab and install the Helper. There's also an option there to download a flashable zip to install the helper (it's gotta be in system to work). I've just gotten so used to flashing the helper every time I flash a new ROM I didn't think of it.

Had Helper installed and still didn't work. Btw Helper is for pattern only, you don't need it for pin/password.
I'll try playing around some more tomorrow. Thanks for the help!
I'm very interested in this. If you get this working I may have to break down and buy tasker. Always been curious about it, but never really had a purpose of it til this came up.

Sorry, don't know what to tell you. Tasker's working great for me.
tried llama and it kinda worked with built-in actions but not with the secure settings plugin.
Couldn't you also do it by location as well, instead of Wifi connection. Which is basically Locale.
