Hi Guys,
i'm getting bored to wait for the gingerbread update on LG Thrill so i decided to install the optimus 3D firmware. My idea is to install the LG Optimus 3D Firmware with Froyo and after update it from the phone.
I've found this two ways:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331814
or
http://www.lg-phones.org/how-to-flash-lg-thrill-4g-to-v10k-firmware.html
The latter seem more easy to install even because i've done this procedure with a tablet and works properly for that. What do you think?
please let me know if any of those work. I am too waiting for GB for my Thrill 925 V10e. AT&T
What's FBI bring to the table that its worth updating before ids?

For me the easy way was using the KDZ file you can follow this tutorial.

No method works on the OB besides Smartflash. I am using a Canadian Optimus Black and I am rooted without any problems. Check out my video tutorial on how to root ANY software version for the Optimus Black:

Hi,I am new here and I need some help related to my LG P925 Thrill 4G (AT&T)
which i have unlocked as I stay in India and I use my vodafone sim card
here is the general info about my phone(attached image)
Android 2.2.2
L6260-MODEM-SIC-01.1042.00
kernel:2.6.35.7
Now i want to update my phone to GB is there a way i can do that because when i have been trying to do that with LG Mobile support
tool,I am getting this message:
"Software update is not supported for this model
Help me out in updating my OS..I am open to rooting the phone and installing a custom rom
shall i root my phone using megatron windows?
please help me out
thanks
I'm not sure about the availability of the updates in your region, however, you could install clockworkmod recovery and flash a GB KDZ ( I think V21E is the newest) and then flash a custom ROM. The latest Cyanogen Mod 7 Nightly (9-30) for the p920 has been running flawless for me and I highly recommend giving it a shot. With the theme chooser you can choose and ICS theme for that look and feel of 4.0 or 4.1. Take a look around the forums for some helpful guides on flashing KDZs and ROMs and read through a few ROM threads to get an idea of what you should expect.

I am using LG Optimus Vu P895 and as far as I know that phone is similar to Optimus 4X HD in hardware design. Hopefully, can I apply the same rooting method of LG Optimus 4X HD into my Optimus Vu P895.
My phone info as below:
LG Optimus Vu P895
ROM: V10c (OTA updated)-> cannot root by "Root with Restore Bin4ry" method anymore.
Any help on rooting new firmware would be much appreciated :good::good::good:
Another question is: I am running FW V10b (Rootable and already rooted), can I unroot to performe OTA update to V10c but still remain root access as I did before? Any solution to remain root access after OTA update?
Thanks very much :good:

Read the noob-how-to section at the Q and A section.
How to downgrade? Go for gingerbread. Download SmartFlash tool (link in the thread of noob-how-to) and download the .bin and .fls files for that v20 firmware of OB, V20c ir v20N i think but those files are available for download on that link and make sure you have LG drivers installed. Follow the instructions on using and flashing smartflash tool, only takes 3 mins to flash. Goodluck.
