When i trying to install FroyoPro+1.1.zip using my CWM-based recovery v5.0.2.3 with E15_nAa-06_2.6.29.6-nAa-06 kernel, it shows

Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer upported.
Amend scripting was deprecated by Google in Android 1.5.
It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to ClockworkMod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery.
Please switch to Edify Scripting (update-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages.

Hey guys,
I am trying to install Darky's latest ROM (for time instal) and I downloaded ROM Manager from the Market. I then got the update.zip file for Clockwork off the ROM Manager and put it on my sd card.
I have now booted the phone into recovery (3 button recovery) and when I click the apply the update.zip I get this message;
-- Install from sdcard...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
Replacing stock recovery with ClockworkMod recovery...
Then it just sits there and does nothing for ages and ages.
I'm using 2.1 and have used z4root to permantely root the phone. Any solutions? Thanks in advance =)
Hi Guys,
So here is my problem:
I updated my Captivate from Samsung to Froyo.
I rooted my with Super One Click.
I then downloaded ROM Manager from the Market.
Then used it to Flash ClockworkMod Recovery (Current Recovery 2.5.1.2)
My problem is that when I boot into recovery mode, I click on reinstall packages and it gives me the following error:
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
I am not running J16, my baseband says I896UXJL1.
I want to make sure that this works so that I can look into using other ROMs.
Thanks in advance.

i believe this is caused by recovery 3e when you tried to get into recovery using rom manager. it requires some kind of signature of the rom.
you need to copy update.zip to your sdcard root folder first and then shut down your phone and use the key combo to get into the recovery mode instead. you may need to apply the changes twice in the recovery mode.
another way to do that is by using android sdk.
I would first try moving update.zip to sdcard (check for updates first), then try using the 3 button to get to recovery and apply it. If that doesn't work, I'd say your probably on a bad recovery, and you should probably flash to stock (Eclair
) using Odin 1 click, available at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989
You can also read there how to use it. I would flash to stock, then go to a proper 2.2 ROM that is widely supported (Perception, Phoenix). Good luck, don't brick your phone.
This makes sense but:
I already have an update.zip in my root folder of my internal SD. Is there something I'm missing here?
I'm new at rooting my Nexus One.
I'm using the "Nexus One: Full Update Guide" on wiki:
1. I've successfully rooted the phone
2. ClockworkMod Recovery (recovery-clockwork-3.0.0.5-passion) - I can manually install this and it works.
Quick question about ClockworkMod Recovery mode. I notice that if I reboot the phone it always returns to the screen with triangle and exclamation mark. I have to reinstall to regain access. Is this how its supposed to be... having to reinstall ClockworkMod Recovery whenever you need it becasue its not a a permanent install?
Anyways, where I am stuck right now is here...
- I downloaded the latest radio (passion.5.08.00.04.zip)
- I copy this file to Nexus SD card
- I manually install ClockworkMod Recovery and enter recovery mode
- I wipe cache/factory reset and wipe dalvik cache
- I then install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard
- I choose passion.5.08.00.04
RESULT:
--Installing: /sdcard/passion.5.08.00.04.zip

I have not been able to find a solution to get passed this and update the radio.
Assistance appreciate. Thank you in advance
What ROM and radio are you currently using?
Pretty sure the stock ROM will continue to overwrite the custom recovery on every boot. Install either the prerooted Stock ROM or another custom ROM to avoid this problem.
Edit: Also, I'm pretty sure the Gingerbread OTA update installs the latest radio, doesn't it? This might be a last option if you can't get the radio specific update working.

You need to use an older version of cwm or amon ra. Cwm3.0 will not flash older file.
Read the Wiki for non-persistent recovery issue.
And read the message in recovery for the other issue. It clearly states the problem - the update.zip is of outdated format (like the most of them). You can't flash it using CWM 3.x recovery.
You really should flash the radio via fastboot IMHO.

He can do that only if he's fastboot-oem-unlocked.
Hi,
Is there any other way to instal CWM 5.0.2.0 instead of installing rom manager and updating CWM from this app ?
I have CWM 3.2.0.0 installed and i would rather update it before installing new rom. But there were always some topic with CWM files and version and new CWM is not here anymore. So, should i update it over Rom Manager or is there any download site for CWM versions for our phone ?
Thx
5.0.20 still not support to much i prefer in 4.0.20
so..
i have alfs06 and gingerdx22. i didnt install chargemon+volds update, so i cannot install *zip files in XRecovery or CWM 3.2
if i install chargemon+volds update, i will not be able to enter CWM 3.2 or XRecovery
The default kernel recovery is CWM 5.x but the zip file requires CWM 3.x
so how can i install that zip file?
do you guys understand a bit of what i am saying?

Are you shure about that you wont be able to install your zip with newer version of recovery, because as far as i know you can always install files for older with newer but you cant do it in reverse...
when i try to install a custom zip in CWM 5.x , i get an error that it is not supported and must try with CWM 3
