Hi im new to all this so please forgive my stupidity
When i plug my Galaxy Note into computer via the usb i can then see what's on my phone on the pc ok nothing new but whats bugging me is when i look for the sd card on my phone alls fine but when i look at the gallery that's stored on the sd card all i see is blank thumbnails? the pics don't show on the thumbnails there's only a camera icon showing where the thumbnail pic should load? How do you make it show actual thumbnails when connected to your pc via used? Ive gone through folder options and Un-ticked Alway show icons, never thumbnails but makes no difference,, so what can i do pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee lol

i clicked a few photos and saved them on memory card. when i try to copy them using the explorer in active sync onto my computer, i am unable to do so. a prompt does appear showing files being copied from 100MEDIA to desktop computer, but they dont get copied. or are they being coped to some other location??
If you did a drag-n-drop, they'll end up wherever you dragged them to. I do that all the time and that's how it works.

what happens if you drag & drop to the PC desktop?
it shows the converting and copying pop up

Activesync is sooo slow anyway. Just pop the MicroSD card into a reader. This will save you a ton of time.
or u can just use card export or wm5torage
these above programmes will allow u to use ur pda as USB Flash Memory
run a search to find them

Hmmm... it is supposed to work, and it does for my Tilt with no problems at all.
Have you tried plugging into a different computer and hitting cancel when it asks to set up a partnership? Then, click the explore button in the ActiveSync window and try to copy the pics.
At least, this would let you know if it is a problem on the phone or the computer side of things.

I believe I've found a thread that describes a problem similar to mine:

It talked about the camera folder messing up. But in that thread, at least they can still see the files, but having the wrong file sizes. Mine just vanishes.
Here is what I'm experiencing right now. I took about 10 pictures sequentially, was able to view them via Resco Photo Viewer (This has been my pic viewer ever since). Then after a few days when I wanted to show them to a friend, the contents in my \DCIM\100XPRIA\ folder in the SD card were all wiped out clean! Another thing I noticed is that every time I go into this folder, it takes a while before I get control of my phone again (around 10 seconds after), after that, it shows me nothing. I tried taking pictures again, the camera app was complaining about not being able to take the picture. The next thing I did was to rename the DCIM folder to "DCIM Temp", then created another DCIM folder. I was able to take pictures again, and guess what, all the missing pictures reappeared in "DCIM Temp"! I was able to open the pictures again. But again after a few days, the new pictures in DCIM\100XPRIA have gone missing. I tried the folder renaming technique again but it didn't work anymore. I couldn't take pictures again. The next thing I did was to change the "Save To" option of the Camera App to save to phone instead of memory card. I was able to take pictures, was able to open the pictures via Resco Photo Viewer, but then when I transferred the pictures to the SD card, again I couldn't open the picture. I was thinking it might be a faulty SD card, but how come only pictures that were taken by the X1 camera have this problem? All of my documents can be opened, pictures from other sources can also be opened, videos etc. Only the X1 camera pictures have multiple problems (either vanishing or can't be opened).
I currently have an R3A ROM, with a 16GB Sandisk micro SD card. I never take the SD card out, I always use the supplied USB cable to connect the X1 to my computer as a flash drive. I first noticed this problem when I still had R2A. But I never thought of it as a camera problem, because I just thought the SD card got corrupted when one time I pulled the USB cable from my PC too quickly, and got that "delayed write failure" balloon message from Vista. The symptoms I've experienced that time was the phone being unresponsive for 10secs when I try to go into some folders (like the DCIM folder I have explained at the start of this post). That prompted me to reformat the SD card and took the opportunity to upgrade to R3A. Right now when I step back and try to remember those affected folders in the SD Card (when still in R2A), I seem to recall all of them having at least 1 file that came from the camera app, like:
\DCIM\100XPRIA
\My Documents\My Pictures\Family
\My Documents\My Pictures\Gadgets
.
.
All the pictures the camera took go straight to \DCIM\100XPRIA, I then rename some of them and transfer to these other folders.
Does the X1 camera app have problems creating its output files? If yes, is there a patch or 'new' ROM I can install to get rid of this problem? I really hope someone can help me.

I haven't heard or experienced this problem yet. I think you should try formatting the card again after you backup. Then before reloading the files, test to see if the same thing happens to your pictures.
When I connect phone with a PC i cant get picture preview of a pictures that are on my phone. Thats very inconvenient because sometimes i want to transfer specific photo from phone to pc but I must open countless pictures until i find the right one. Does anyone know how ti fix this??
Depend on which operating system you are on:
for exemple, on win7 right click on a clear area in the folder, chose display and select the way you want to see all media inside
yeah, im on win7...i tried that but it didnt help, only thing i can chose is like large icons, extra large, medium, list view...i tried them all but only thing they change is the size of the icons.

Mosaic should work.
If not, you have no software on your pc to generate a pics preview or your pics are corrupted (if they are ok on your SGS, try to associate files on your pc: right click on a pic, propertie -> open with).
Pics are fine, when i double tap them they open normally or when i go to properties also normal...thing im missing is Thumbnail of them so i could easily recognise them and copy on pc the ones that i want. The moment when i copy them on pc the thumnail is back but while the phone is conected to pc and and i want to see specific image on my pc (from my phone) thumbnail is missing so i cant recognise which is which except for the name.

Is it connected as a masse storage? or through kies?
through mass storage
it seems it wasnt mass storage but through Kies. I only thought that it was mass storage becasu when i conected phone to pc i could use it like usb to. Now everything is good when i put it on mass storage, I appreciate your help
Ok so i know how to use adb and all a little bit. So anyways i "adb pull"ed my pictures from my old captivate that i dropped and the screen cracked and i just "push"ed the photos and thumbnails to my new captivate but the pictures are not showing up in the gallery. Can someone help me?
Why not just drag the pics from your comp to you new captivate. If you pulled them correctly they should be in the adb folder.
Or just cut and paste to computer from sd card to phone?
Can somebody help me with this? When I connect my Note with micro USB cable to Windows 7 laptop, running 64 bit system, it show like mobile device. When I click on it and try to go into phone menu to see the pictures in the gallery it not shows the small preview thumbnail pictures, only shows generic icons, it is very difficult to organize the pictures and look through of them. Is there any other way how do I view the small thumbnails?
