So I bought recently a nokia 75u cable for my SGS to see what's happening on phone on my 10 year old TV.
The single problem I encountered is that the subtitles which I can on Galaxy, are not showing on TV. I've tried LOTS of player and the only who shows the subtitles on TV is Vplayer, but using this app, the subtitles are not so pretty on TV and more importantly, it has some kind of lag (very annoying).
Any suggestions in this direction?

Hi there!
I was wondering if anyone has any idea why my phone wont play videos or sound through mhl hdmi on tv?
Menus and pictures works fine, but when I try to play a video it plays it on phone but TV screen just turns dark, and hdml connection doesn't work any more until I reconnect the usb again.
I have; Xperia T running cyanogenMod 10.2.0-mint (4.3.1 android).
(so far I tried playing music, opening any videos with default player and mx player, on all those hdmi connection hangs. (black screen on tv but keeps on playing on phone).
Any help ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi my question is is there a player except localcast which allows me to stream videos on my tv via chromecast but let the audio play from my phone? i searched a lot of websites but could not find anything hope someone can help me here
I could see this being possible by running a UPnP server on the Chromecast and diverting/mirroring the audio through that. I think you'd probably need a rooted Chromecast to do it at this stage though (which I don't have).

I actually got that to happen accidentally while testing casting from Chrome Beta on the phone. I started a Vimeo video playing on the phone, switched to full screen, clicked the Chromecast icon, the video loaded on the Chromecast and started playing, the phone screen switched to control playing on the Chromecast - but the audio continued on the phone. That didn't happen when I stopped and started again, only the first time.
so ive got a new lg tv(42lg580v) with built in miracast capabilities, but everything i try to do, videos games etc, is really choppy, laggy on the TV, any one else use the playto feature..when i tell it to mirror it connects but the tv is just dark but after i start a music video it comes up on the tv everything i do on the tablet
Hello
I a non-rooted p20 Pro.
Just to the lack of broadband where I currently am (two weeks until an engineer turns up). I have downloaded a purchased TV series in to my phone at work via Google Movies. I have a USB to Hdmi adapter. I can see my phone screen on the TV. But when I load I start a purchased video in Google movies or via YouTube. I only get a black screen and audio. If I play a random YouTube video that works perfectly. So it has to has to do with the purchase protection but how do I get to stop? Thank you.
