Need Good App AND Data Backup Program - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

Can someone recommend a good app for backing up data and apps? I found several programs that backed up apps, and I finally found one or two that supposedly backed up settings and data. I decided I could save time by asking here. I miss my old Resco Backup program for Windows Mobile.
Thanks

The apps are limited in what they can do without root. If we get a real root solution then you have a couple of options. titanium is the one I use only because I paid for it years ago. There are others people recommend of Titanium.

MyBackup and Titanium Backup are your friends, but both function better with full root.

Easiest way to transfer data from G1 to N1

I recently got an N1 and I need to transfer my apps & data to it from my G1. Installing the apps are no problem but I would really like to avoid losing app data and starting again.
So what would be the easiest way to go around copying the app data to the N1?
Thanks
go to the market and download titanium backup, then visit the authors website and purchase a licence key(he sent me mine in <10 mins)
with this app and the licence key you cna do a batch backup of all your apps and data, and you can just pop your sdcard into your n1 and do a batch restore and all your apps and data will be restored to the same specifications as they were on your g1

You're right.
Titanium, the mentioned app above, REQUIRES ROOT ACCESS!!!
There are other apps, but I've never tried them.
I've rooted all my Android™ phones, and Titanium is what I've used for them all.
Thanks for the info guys. I haven't rooted my phone yet in case I have problems and need to return it. I will root it in about a weeks time if no problems pop up.
Use an app called appmonster to back them up and then to restore them use that same app. its free but you dont get the batch install. but the paid one does. Thats what i used to use before i found titanium.

best app to backup all apps/settings.

just wondering if anyone has some input as to what the best app to backup all my setting/apps.
If rooted, Titanium Backup is great!

I also agree with Titanium Backup.
The small donation is REALLY recommended.
I flash a new ROM maybe, once a month, or every few weeks.
I tinker with alot of apps, ROMs and things. SO I'm always messing with my Nexus.
Having the latest of my favorite apps + data, is crucial to me.
After flashing a new ROM, or upgrade, i ALWAYS WIPE. Even though they often say you don't need to, but I do anyways, just because I don't mind starting fresh.
It takes me no more then 10-15 minutes to restore a couple dozen apps + data
Titanium Backup.
/end thread
EDIT: One note when using Titanium Backup: When you load a new ROM, don't just restore everything that you backed up. Some times the new ROM may have newer versions of systems files or things like the browser and such, so you wouldn't want to revert back to your old version. I usually hit "restore all apps and system data", then deselect all and hand pick what I want to restore (a good time for ****ty app clean up too). Common things to restore other than your favorite apps (with data) are browser bookmarks, call log, sms log etc.
Titanium here as well

thanks alot, i will download titanium backup now and check it out.
thanks for it
I'm using MIUI and MIUI backup also best.
What would be the best option if you're not rooted? I want to unlock my bootloader and root to be able to use root apps but otherwise remain stock, what could I use to backup and restore for the data wipe that unlocking it will do?
Can't do anything to back up apps data without root, sorry. Root privileges are required to access that data. You could only backup phonebook/call log/sms/etc.

Welp. At least the apps that actually require effort to set up (launcher pro, widgetsoid, minimal text) all have xml export.
+1 on Titanium Backup, worth every penny for paid version.

[HOWTO] Backup my SGS, Backup Apps, Best practices before & after flash

Good evening guys,
I tried to backup my diary entries using Titanium Backup, but when I tried to restore them on the new Firmware they didn't appear. Same for my SMS Messages...
Could you tell what exactly I have to backup?
Thank you for your help!
Backup Methods Before Flashing?
I've been using MyBackupPro, but it does not save any of my settings. I have to set up a lot of stuff like email accounts and so on every time I flash.
Is there a better way?
Have you tried titanium backup? I find it works best.

Hey,
I believe it does, it saves all of my preferences with games like Alsphalt so it should do the same with your e-mail.
Try it, it's free.

I hope someone is, that would be best option, titanium is brilliant though and has saved me a few times, I have it scheduled to backup everynight.
I also use Mybackup pro for sms and call logs etc.
neither can bring your homescreen widgets back as before.
Is there anything that saves your facebook/google links in contacts? That's the thing I find most annoying having to go back through them one by one...
Titanium backup in its current form is not functioning correctly on my phone aswell as many other galaxys users
yes - unfortunately Titanium Backup currently won't backup the databases :-(
Best backup app for galaxy?
Is there anything out there which will backup our apps, contacts etc before I flash a new rom to my phone? Is it possible in kies? I'm loath to have to link my face book and google mail contacts again
Backup apps/settings to PC? possible?
Hi all, i have seen many threads regarding backup apps such as wave/titanium pro etc but im wondering if its possible to backup to a PC?
as much as its a naughty word, i liked apples way of backing up using itunes. you simply plugged in your phone and voila its backing up into a friendly restorable format.
i just want a simple backup of my device encase i flash to others roms.
is this possible?
i don't know of such application.
but what is so bad about backing it up to the External SD card?
you want your backup to be with you all the time, so in case of "OMG! happens", you can easily Hard Reset, then restore from backup from the SD card.
once on the SD card, you can easily copy it over to your PC, the next time you hookup your USB cable.
if you want it done automatically, you can always create a script on your PC to grab X files from X folder every time the USB connects to X device
I love the backup software from PalmOS, they works automatically just as you wanted.
I never found a good one that actually works on WinMobile
in Android it's almost perfect, it just missing the part to sync the backups to the desktop automatically.
But that's a minor thing, as you can do the batch command mentioned above.
you can try this one for size, see if you like it.

Nandroid v2.0 - Full NAND backup and restore tool
else you can go for PAID applications such as... Titanium Backup and many other ones
never thought of it like that.
as for backup apps which one is proving decent? i see alot about wave and titanium backup.
Yeah... Titanium Back-up is great. You can even try MyBackup Pro. Both are equally good.
MyBackup Pro restores all the apps perfectly but is not able to link those to the Android Market...
what do you guys use to backup all your data before changing firmware
I already flashed my girlfriend's galaxy S twice
and each time i was installing and configuring the device as she want...
Once again there is a new firmware that correct some interesting part (GPS)
but i REALLY don't want to loose 2 hours of my time to
a: install the apps my gf has
b: configure the device (font, ring tone, volume ...)
so question : what are you using to save the time of installing/configurating...
thanks in advance
I'm also interested to know how you make it.. Thanks

There is a very good app named 'SMS Backup & Restore' in the Market for free. It backups and restores your messages. I just used it yesterday.

Titanium Backup can backup both, bookmarks and SMS.
Look at attached pics to see where TiBu backups SMS and bookmarks.
I use Mybackup pro and it works like a dream. Tried many different ones and personally I like this 1 the most.

I can absolutely confirm that Titanium Backup saves and restores SMS and bookmarks. During the holiday break the past 2 weeks, I've been (finally!) getting some time to try flashing different ROMs and trying some out.
TB worked just fine restoring SMS and bookmarks without any problem.

Before flashing Firefly I did TIBU using apps+data (full).
After flashing i copied Titanium folder back onto phone and then through restore saw the same things in your pic.
However when I try to explore the items it says there's nothing in there.
Ok, not sure what I did but my sms are back.
I did do a reboot but it still didnt' show up. Just went back into Handscent SMS and now it's showing my old texts.
Ah well, guess it did work.

What is the best backup method?

Hi guys, I am not a very "backup" guy, I almost wipe everytime I flash a rom to avoid problems.
But I am getting tired of having to do everyhting (arranging icons , put some wifi passwords, etc), what is the best way to backup that doesn't hassle with new roms?
Titanium backup?I even have the full version (bought it more do delete some apps).
Or HTC Backup?
I am "afraid" of backing up and overwriting newer version of apps without older ones for example, is there a "script" for importing only settings of something?

I use titanium, but I NEVER restore apps anymore with TB because I suspect battery drain will occur if I do. I reinstall them from market. after I started doing this I get perfect battery life. The only thing I restore is apps data only. Remember that TB backs up both app with its data and settings. Then you can choose what to restore, app, data or both.
SMS and WIFI access points I also backup with titanium.
As for launcher I use Nova. Which has its own backup solution. you save your layout, icons.. pretty much everything except some widgets to SD. On the other hand If you love sense launcher, I don't know if it still works, but you can try back it up with TB. Used to work on previous Android OS.
I guess there are easier ways, but I have never bothered. HTC backup I have never tried. Don't trust solutions like these anyways.
