i installed cf-root 4.3 fro here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108 on stock xxjvt now i want to back to stock..i have read that you have disable lagfix before flashing stock rom if you are on rooted custom rom but dont know how to do it i have searched cwm recovery also but nohing seems to be there regarding lagfix...help me out

Why do you want to go stock?
Do you want to remove the root access?
If so, there is an video from hdtechvideo's wich will show you how to flash.
if you only have flashed the cf-root i dont think you have lagfix installed.
Here is a link to the video wich explains it all

[Q] clockwork and voodoo kernel issue

Hello.
So i've got a problem with my I9000.
I've upgraded it to froyo, official release, so i'm stuck with the 3e recovery.I recently flashed the voodoo lagfix kernel via Odin. I would like to get clockwork recovery to replace 3e, but I understand i have to flash it via Odin, too. My question is : Is clockwork's kernel going to replace voodoo? If so, how can i have them both?
Thanks a lot in advance.
if you upgrade offical froyo then u must first do a root..the root files can be find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108...download correct root for your firmwire phone...then flash it tru odin..when u done with that u must download a rom manager from market...and install it to get clockwork mode =)
I wouldn't follow the previous poster's advice.
If you're going to use cwm, why do you want stock firmware? Try flashing speedmod kernel to get cwm, which has built in root and lagfix accesable from recovery. Or just go to a custom fw like docrom kitchen.
Best procedure for going custom with the sgs is a single flash of speedmod w/ cwm from odin, and then flash anything else via cwm.

[Q] Noob Darky's ROM 10.2 flashing question

I am currently running a stock XXJVQ firmware with Galaxian 2.1 kernel installed. I have a few backups to it made in CWM.
My question is - if I try to flash Darky's ROM, will I lose CWM and all the backups I made to my previous ROM?
Also - it says that I should have lagfix turned on before trying to flash Darky's ROM. I used the CF tool to convert all my rfs memory to ext4. I suppose that's the same as a lagfix, meaning that I already have my lagfix turned on, right?

your nandroid backups will remain intact, and just use cf tool to convert back to lagfix disabled(all on rfs) and you should be set to go....remember to follow darkys instructions to the word and then you should have no problems....happy flashing
Hi there,
I have the stock JVQ flashed via odin from samfirmware, I would really like to use this rom. However, I was following the steps documented on this link which was successful (I reverted back to the rom on this page just to make things simpler, and to ensure that there wern't going to be any glitches):
http://www.darkyrom.com/community/index.php?threads/guide-installing-stock-rom-gt-i9000-only.486/
and then started to follow this:
http://www.darkyrom.com/community/i...rkys-rom-on-2-2-2-2-1-i9000-i9000m-only.1041/
However got to part 2, and the kernel flash didn't work (didn't get the dark core recovery part written on the recovery screen). So I clicked on the 'Alternate Method to Get Working Kernel' and the links dead!
Is there another method I can follow step by step, I currently have no root on the phone, but I can easily root using CF root if that helps, however previously I found no lagfix option! I'm completely a noob at this so any help would be appreciated...I want to try the rom that everybody's talking about
Many Thanks

If you flash 10.2 Resurrection Edition you don't have to worry about lagfix on or off!
It will give you a CLEAN, FAST phone.
From there you can install, tweak, modify to your hearts content!

As the above poster said, just flash Darky 10.2 RE instead. You can flash it with Odin regardless of the ROM you have before. Just follow the guide on this page:
http://www.darkyrom.com/community/index.php?threads/odin-darkyrom-10-2-resurrection-gt-i9000.4272/
does this rom work on m110s (korean I9000).. is there anyone who tested it?

[Q] How can I root my I9000XXJVQ ?

HI, I put I9000XXJVQ 2.3.4 on my SGS by ODIN, it's not rooted, but I don't witch .RAR I can use to root it with ODIN to use TITANIUM backup, anybody can help me?
Or what is the best way : put a new firmware ? which one?
The best way to root, I think it is a flash Custom Kernel via Odin or CF-Root
Thanks, I tried to Root by ODIN but it's always unsuccessfull. Which Kernel do you recommend ? It's seems there are some problem with JVR kernel...
lol, if you going to root it from Custom kernel, you need to download SuperUser.apk and BusyBox . It gives you only permissions .
When I was on JVQ I using a continuum
What is a continuum ? Can I use CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVR-v4.1-CWM3RFS.zip to root with ODIN after loading Superuser and busybox ?
Yes, you can use it
I always flashed a custom .tar kernel's like SpeedMod or Galaxian.
Then I install from Market a SuperUser and BusyBox and it was all what i doing

[Q] how to install CWM on ace 2.2.1 stock rooted plz help very urgent

hi all
can any1 tell me how to install recovery on ace 2.2.1 rooted device?
searched a lot but cudnt find?
any link or instructions wud be helpful
thanks.
You need to be on gingerbread to flash CWM 4/5(I recommend CWM 5 for no errors during flashing)
Download the latest gingerbread firmware for your Phone and flash through Odin and after that you can put CWM recovery onto your Ace.
Otherwise the Best solution is to flash Custom ROMs.
But you will need to be on Gingerbread to flash Most of the released Custom ROMs so better flash a gingerbread stock ROM through Odin and then you are good to go.
You can flash CWM v4 on Odin if you're on Froyo

That is for GT-S5830C/i/M. Is no the same than: s5830/L/B
Get CF-Root adpation for Froyo, CWM 4 and Root.
Look in the all roms tweaks and kernels in the dev section

[Q] Where can I find official rooted rom?

I already have a custom rom installed but I'm going to sell my Note... So I want to make it official but rooted...
I cant find any thread for it. A near official rom I found is CleaNote rom but I want a fully offcial rom like on Samfirmware but rooted.
I dont want to download via samfirmware because then I will have to though whole process of rooting again and then triangle removing mod etc...
its just a one step method for rooting ics these days.
Download the rom of your choice
download philz kernel as per rom
boot into recovery
install zip
done
you have root, and cwm and safe kernel
No triangle, no counter
There is a prerooted gb rom but i dont think there is a prerooted ics cause its not safe to stay stock after you get rooted
So as nokiamodeln91 said, download a stock ics rom and flash philz kernel
Thanks guys!
I hv downloaded the Stock rom from Samfirmware in ZIP format... As my phone is rooted, can I use mobile ODIN to flash that zip and Philz Kernel OR should I use cwm recovery to flash both.... (Im asking ths bec what if the phone reboots immediately after installing rom via cwm.... it wont gimme a chance to install philz after rebooting because stock rom also installs stock kernel)
Use pc odin to install the stock rom and then philz from recovery... Or u can use mobile odin aslo. If u already rooted, mobile odin may give the option to inject su, and u may have root as well after the rom install.
cwm u can't flash stock
You cant use cwm to flash a stock rom
You can use either pc odin or mobile odin to do so
