Here in the forum, some ppl say that enable swap is not worth it. But I want to give it a try. Any guru, that can teach me how to format SD and enable it...I will appreciate it.
I search for it in the forum, but no luck with a complete noob guide to enable.

Try this sd card partition tutorial from g blog search.
Then download swapper and install..
and last go here used for advanced option on the swapper

If want to really try make partition on SD card as swap. And transfer the swap with xRecovery(this may be wrong, I think I seen this some where).
Format the partition as SWAP, you can do this with "MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition 7.0".

A2SD = Apps to SD. It allows you to save your apps onto your SD card allowing you to free up space on the phone. The SD car needs to be partitioned in order for it to work. Read the thread posted in the link above for further information.
After installing Fresh 2.0d, and formatting your SD card properly (use the search function and search apps2sd for the numerous threads)
I would STRONGLY recommend installing darktremor's apps2sd 2.5.
It appears to work much better.
I kniw that there is many threads like this,but in no one has turtorial from making swap with partition tool to enabling swap.

You can make partition in clockmod but your sd will be format ..... make backup
Well im use swapper2 :
1) Install swapper2 of course
2) In the setting chose amount in mb
3) Chose swappeness
4) Select "use sd partition"
5) Select turn on ( maybe give error)
6) Again select turn on
7) Wait a moment
8) Your swap is done
Also you use swapper2 without sd partition
-Swapper2 is stored in the background of the ram (dont kill swapper2)
-Swapper2 for me is better than swapper1

Using a partition for Swapper2 on an X8, is simply not necessary, but, if you want to then go ahead.
First of all, if you can, get yourself a class 10 microSD.
Then, go to this thread.
Done!

I agree, using swapper on class 6 microsd will not affect to much on the performance although you made 500mb swap file

go to CWM recovery
go to advanced
partition sd
follow the instructions (size: 1024mb recommended, swap: 0mb)
then go to mount/format and format ext [optional]
use any script/app to move your apps, data, cache ... etc (I like Link2SD)

I have read above procedure and the link given, still if someone can clear my confusion will be appreciable.
I want to partition my sd card. I am not asking how to do, just tell me where I am wrong in the follwing steps.
1- format sd card
2- partition thru CWM recovery. By giving proper details of partition, and choose ext3. So tell me how it would be ext4.(I have read somewhere on)
3- Flash any script like a2sd, darkmentors etc....
4- Use any app like A2SDGUI, link2sd etc.
5- success.
One more confusion, do I have to flash the script every time I change rom, or it comes preloaded in some roms.
(I am currently on apocalypse final.)

Hi, I just saw some stuff about SD partition and ended up partitioning the card to 512mb with 64 swap size. I'm a bit lost and feel stupid as I forgot to backup my SD card and lost all my stuff. How can I un-partition my card and (if possible) is there anyway to get my stuff back? Any help deeply appreciated.

I did that mistake once and i felt horribly stupid.
Simple way to un-partition.
Download Mini-Tool Partition Wizard and under your sd card drive letter there will be two disks according to two partitions. Right click on the partition of 512 mb you created and Click "Delete"
After that. Just do a normal format by right clicking the disk drive in "My Computer" (ofcourse if your using windows)
And In the format options.
Select Quick Format
And click restore device defaults.
Start.
That should fix it.
One Advice: Don't select a swap size in CWM. I heard swap causes lag.
Just download swapper. it works better

I struggled about that alot when i first tried to make droidace. errors like **** at first then thanks to Prawesome i got it figured out.
My advice, don't use kitchen. Just use a normal zipping application and notepad ++

I have a sony ericsson w8....I have a unlocked bootloader.....I just want a noob guide on how to create a partition....and use swap( to eliminate the lag on 4.1)..I did buy a class 10 sdcard recently.....I just am afraid that I may end up messing with my sdcard....help is much appreciated.... :fingers-crossed:

The thing is I have no idea how swap works and what partition is? I just want use swap in a safe way without damaging my sdcard...i really want a smooth JB(4.1) experience...
I know there are many threads and posts about how to swap...but still i am a noob and bit afraid to try it....This is my only phone.

Swapping can never kill your phone..

Yeah. I never heard about a dead SD card due to swapping

If u hav a class 10 sdcard, just dont worry about it,. It'll also improve swapping with performance

Both aren't good because the process is slower.. so, u need to partition your sdcard via CWMrecovery,.. there is a thread about it... or i can tell you..
1)Back-up all files in Sdcard and put in PC
2)Enter CWMrecovery
3)find partition sdcard
4)choose desired ext4 partition value
5)next choose desired swap value(if u run JB platform i recommend to apply 256MB swap)
6)choose ok, then it'll partitioned your sdcard with full formatting, thAts why we need to backup first
7)Reboot the device, open terminal emulator app and type free,.. if it shows memory in bytes on swap.. then it works..
Partitioned Swap doesnt use any script to activate it on any new kernel yet the Legend of nAa kernel.. try it
