Here is a nice collection of wallpapers. I came across these on the Nexus 1 forum a few months back when I had a Nexus. I don't know what the original thread was, just the google docs link.

Well I think Android's 'perfect' wallpaper size is 960x800 for our 480x800 screens, so it should fit perfectly. Remember that Android has scrolling wallpapers, so it moves when you move between homescreens. When you're fitting the wallpaper, it *should* fit perfectly if you make the box [ the one that sizes the wallpaper when you're selecting it] as big as the whole image.
I hope thats easy to understand, it's harder to explain than it is to do.

This does not work on my HD2 with a runnymeade Rom. The default wallpaper picker seems set on screwing every image up by cropping badly. Have you tried Wallpaper Wizardii from the Market. Worked wonders for me.

Just copy them into flikie/wallpapers or set it via your galery app.

i tried wallpaper wizardii but it couldnt scale wallpapers to full screen !!!
i used to get empty black screens on all sides of the wallpaper !!

May be this suggestion may help you too ...
use irfan view to scale/crop center wallpapers of any size to fit your need....better...there is a batch process option which can reduce ur effort a hell lot.

As these images were rescaled to 320x480 me the idiot must of saved them lik that , however: I have rescaled them using GIF Compostie, and these images look brilliant in TouchFlo 3D as home wallpaper. Sorry, but i will make some more wallpaper suites!!

I used Office Picture Manager to resize one of the images to test the quality. I chose 640x480 and it returned 427x640 and it looks very good on the Diamond.

Well, since we're our android devices have icons all over them, I like the plain texture wallpapers the best. You can't see much of an image under the interface elements anyway, so the repeating pattern works kinda well.
Anyway, try them out, let me know if you like em, I'll make more.
All images are 960x800 (fit for my Nexus One screen). You can also download the whole set HERE.
How to set wallpapers in high quality (guide for noobs ):
1. Click on the one you like
2. When imageshack loads, click on the image again. Then copy the full image to your device, however you wanna do it.
3. On your android friend, go to market, download "Wallpaper Set and Save". Why? When you set wallpaper through that app, it'll show up with much better color depth than when setting it through android's gallery app.
4. Post how your screen looks like =)

i would post my wallpaper set... 404 of them, lol.. Most of them are designs, however, and i agree that plain looks better. Actually deleting them off my sdcard and giving the regular ones a try.

I have just signed on to this forum .. because what I would dearly like to know is a website or two which carry a large number of plain textured wallpapers .. Various colours of course .. but my MAIN request is for the wallpaper to be entirely plain ..
and having a texture of parallel lines, OR horizontal lines OR intersecting lines (like a
mesh or net) OR possibly a kind of corrugated effect .. My knowledge of graphics is
virtually nil .. but I would be EXTREMELY grateful if I could find a site with a large number of these textures ..

Here are the android 4.0 ICS wallpapers, ripped from the sdk image. These are the full, 1440x1280 images, not the downscaled ones we got some time ago.
Use them for your desktop, tablet, or w/e.

The screen is 1280px high but the wallpapers got to be wider to support wallpaper scrolling.

you need the image to shift as you scroll through homescreens. Generally the "formula" is to double the screen width and keep the height. Hence 1440x720.
edit:1440x1280 sorry.

Now we will have to search in the very high resolution sections and crop like this one: http://wallpaperswide.com/2560x1920-wallpapers-r
doesn't harm to have higher resolution ones as then you can crop and use instead of a lower resolution one
