I'm already in.
This rom would require v21a radio, by the way.

no it does not require a radio update. I am working with him on the p925. It's worth the wait.

So glad that you're working with him to make this happen. I am very anxious to get a Cyanogenmod build on my thrill.

The build itself uses the gb kernel source for the p920 as well as updated props. It has been modified to run on the froyo radio. I haven't had and hard locks or reboots like the old kangs.

By the way, anybody can explain me (in a way a non-programer could understand) wtf did LG with the baseband and why there's an incompatibility between versions?

The different basebands are for different carriers that use different frequencies for your cell phone signal.

Just flashed on my Thrill. Running very smooth. I'm very happy with it.

So far it's been very fast and smooth for me. Getting weird error messages about being out of space on the device but I've just been moving apps to external sd and it's been fine.

I always got error messages too in lg thrills stock froyo about running out of space.

I haven't had any error messages yet. I had some widgets that were being stubborn but a reboot fixed that.
Edit: Just had a reboot

Bluetooth audio is not working for me. The mic works but music isn't being streamed to my headphones. Odd that all alerts are going through the phone speaker.
Transport controls work just fine on my headset too. It is a Motorola s305.
Also of note, my wired headset no longer works correctly either. The mic and earbuds work but the button used to answer calls, skip tracks and pause does not work.
I will post later about battery life after I see how she does.

[DEV] TW port from I9000 to Nexus S (alpha)

New! Follow my updates on the project on Twitter with the #NexusTW hashtag.
Update: extremely close to an early build now, minor kernel updates needed then I should be able to successfully boot into the ROM. Last time I tried it did boot, but got stuck.
Just setting it up ready for my TW port and anyone else who is interested in helping me port the leaked 2.3.3 firmware for our Nexus S. Started to separate the previous Sense and TW threads upon JD's advice.
In the next few days I'm going to poke around the firmware and see what I can get working. Hopefully bits and pieces like codecs and FM radio can be then used in other custom ROMs (like my ROM, infin1y).

That would be nice might be a bit hacky though, lower FPS or something to compensate for the lack of high speed chip or whatever that's missing.
I'd definitely try to keep as many file systems the same as what's currently on the Nexus S. Obviously sometimes this might not work at the start but I will aim that way.
As far as I can tell at the moment, it wouldn't be too hard to get it to work on the 9023 if it doesn't already. Probably a few different drivers needed but other than that it should be fine.

[FIX] JVP GPS fix - work in progress

First things first, we use agpsd(/system/bin/) & not gpsd(/system/vendor/bin/)
so for anyone compiling a kernel will need to modify their init.rc:
Code:
#service gpsd /system/vendor/bin/launch_gps.sh
# socket gps seqpacket 0660 gps system
# user gps
# group system inet
# +STE GPS Daemon
#GPS_CHIPSET_STE_CG2900
service agpsd /system/bin/agpsd
user system
group system inet
oneshot
Everyone please thank cmenard for being amazing & quick to provide us with a magnificent JVP kernel with GPS support .
These files should work on any Gingerbread, but I've packaged this with a JVP kernel so be warned. I'm going to try and see if I can get it working with just init.d support or something later.
Alright guys, I couldn't get it to lock again, but we're close. It is running in the background but it's not quite locking. Something is off. I will dig into it more later tonight but I gotta run. If anyone smarter than me can figure it out, I'm posting what I have. I believe it's a permission issue somewhere.
http://www.multiupload.com/S4QY6MN2BB
REMEMBER, the kernel is for JVP ONLY. It's included in the flashable zip
The issue
If you turn your phone on with GPS enabled, it will find a lock great! However, if you turn GPS off & back on GPS never starts back up.

Samsung is the one wrote the drivers for the Galaxy S 4G's gps. We're just lucky that it seems to work on Vibrant too.
People are a little annoyed that it took so long. Not to mention that we get a leak for sgs4g, and not the vibrant. But hey this means I get to get back to flashing like mad again..... I hope.... lol

Honestly? Flashing the bootloader was relatively painless. Getting recovery working after that was painful, but I think that's something I did wrong with the kernel (still not sure what)... But as long as your computer doesn't decide to go blue-screenie mid flash, I don't see how you can mess up the bootloader process.
I switched to JVP yesterday myself and the battery has been great. It's almost time to welcome our Gingerbread overlords. Now, the question is - Does this leak bode well for WiFi Calling on GB?

What is The best rom to use

I am getting a bit peed off with my stock froyo tab it random reboots and doesn't turn on properly at times I have the p1000 uk GSM not wifi only I dont mind what I run asking as it is fast as hell, I have a nexus s so its a bit mad switching from devices at times.
Thanks xda

Take the Overcome expiriance. It feels very fast and smooth. Everything works without any issues and the community support (if you need it) is great. At the moment Alterbridge does not stop his developing (next version of his rom is in the oven) so we will get more and more performance.
PS: for a nexus S look you can flash the GreengerBlack theme.
(I know, I know......)
I came from overcome to dip7's rom and I can tell you that it is faster but it's closer to stock. Overcome has icons that look cool for some people but i like dip7's rom better.

If you make your choise for overcome, the installation will be easy as sleep. You just have to follow the guide on "teamovercome.net". The Rom is made for GSM Tabs like yours. It's allmost impossible to brick the Tab.

Overcome or CM7 ?
I can see that overcome is pretty popular. I dont hear anybody touting CM7; I've got CM7 running on an HTC Desire HD and an LG Optimus One, and I'm pretty happy with it -- much better that the stock ROM, and on the O1, probably the nicest ROM out there. I'm just wondering a bit how much better worse it is compared to Overcome ?

Definitely what you want. I've been an Overcome fan for a while now, been very happy with it.
I use Overcome since version 2.0.0 RC1. In my opinion it is the best ROM for the Gtab 7". It is fast, does not have too much bugs and the support by Team Overcome is very good. The development of the ROM is fast and continually.
Not to forget the very good installation instruction and the Change Log for every new version of the ROM.

Have been using this for about 10 hrs. I have found that netflix does work and you can take 3d pictures just cant record 3d video. The other problem I have found is that it doesnt reconize the internal memory only the sd card is detected.
Have started running into an issue when streaming while the device is plugged in it drains the battery and doesnt provide a good charge
Correct me if I'm wrong but its supposed to run off the sdcard isn't it?? And that's all that's holding me back is the 3d camera ill just give it a shot since Netflix is working.

Games do not work (3d and non-3d). The games I tried before reverting:
nfs shift
nova3d
Other issues:
1. freeze reboot once while flipping through home screens
2. 3d didn't work (already known issue)
3. no 4g
On the bright side, it was very quick and snappy AND the bluetooth stack worked. I was able to use Sixaxis pairing working.

Regardless the fact that CM7 is functional at all means good things. Considering their will probably be more devs now that they can work on something else plus there will most likely be an OC kernel to follow shortly. CM7 I think is one of the easier ports for OC Kernels.
I've been running cm7 for a couple days now and I'm so impressed with it I've been putting a lot of time into getting the couple of broken things to work. I'm compiling a Thrill version of the O3D cm7 as we speak. Will report back after its done and I get it flashed.

CM7 Works on O3D Version but there are slight differences in Hardware and Software between the O3D and the Thrill. Enough that a few things here and there that function on the O3D don't on the Thrill because of the Government having to make companies "Conform" to US Standards.
ok so mms is working. i got the 3d camera working (it no longer locks up the camera to take a 3D pic) but still no 3D gallery. And still no hdmi output. I also noticed the 3D button does not work, nor do any of the 3D apps.
As far as 4G goes, still no dice. Highest speed I managed was 3.66mb down/1.07mb up. Of course that could just be my area.
I havent tested Bluetooth or GPS yet. Wifi works great. Calls/sms/mms works like normal. Reboot Recovery is working as is the built in CM7 screenshot.
Im thinking that the LG 3D stuff isnt going to work without a kernel that supports it...I'll upload the cm7 and put up a link so people can test the network speeds and try to figure out some of the bugs.

if you have the arcee kang build installed than all you have to do is wipe cache. If you are coming from a lg based rom you need to wipe data/cache.
Do we need GB baseband? Also, the link doesn't seem to work.

Of course not. It is made for the thrills current radio. Until LG and AT&T decide to release gingerbread for us we have to have two separate build setups for the p920 and p925.

so sad that in this day and age with ICS out, we are still crying to the bastards(LG and AT&T) for GB release
Hmmm...I really liked CM7 but it tore through battery life way too fast. It's okay while I'm on Christmas vacation but once next week rolls around, there's no way I can have that short of battery life. The longest I was able to hold a charge was 7 hours and that was without using my phone, down to 1 screen, only Gmail and exchange synced, and screen off. I tried 3 different batteries and all the same result.
On the Doomed ROM, I can get 8-10 hours of battery life with making calls, texts, downloading apps, uninstalling apps, playing games, running multiple screens with quite a few things synced, etc

So far looks and runs great! I have what may be a dumb question though, is 3d capability taken out of this cm7 or is there plans to keep 3d. As of now there's no 3d apps and 3d button is now inactive. Great job on this though!

Ah gotcha. Any plans on being able to have 3d capabilities on here in the future?

I know he wants to get hdmi working but 3d I am not sure.
The 3D issue is with LGs propriatary 3d software that does not seem to work well with others...
I could honestly care less about 3D. I'd rather see HDMI fixed.
There is no 3d (except in camera, weird) b/c it relies on lg's proprietary 3d framework, and cm7 is built from Google source.

Wow. This is excellent. A2dp works awesome so far! Also this build deals with notification sounds while music is playing better than even the stock rom.
Great work.

arcee did a good job and showed me how to make it compatible with the old radio.
Installing now, I've tried just about every rom. I'm practically ready to sacrifice 3D and HDMI for something great. Please let this be great...
Please think of 3D in the future as well
EDIT:
So how do I access my internal memory? It will only mount my SD card, and it will not show my internal in Astro.

it's located under /mnt/emmc
Most important issues that remain:
Too much gain on in call volume.
Ambient mic still acting as phone mic instead of noise cancellation.
