[Q] Dell Strea 7 Rom Manager cant downloade - Dell Streak 7

Hi
I have a Dell Streak 7, which I did the big mistake to upgrade to Honeycomb 3.2costum rom without installing Rom Manager and a backup.
At this point when I try to download Rom Manager it starts but after some sec it stops.
Is ther a way to get this to work.

What instructions/thread did you follow to flash honeycomb?
It looks like you don't have root access.

I just installed ROM Manager for the heck of it and it doesn't recognize that I have CWM 5.0 installed on the Streak 7. It gives me the message, "You must have Clockwork Mod Recovery installed before continuing. Install the recovery through ROM manager first."
I haven't researched yet but ROM manager might not work on the CWM we have installed on our Streaks.
Anyone have info about this?
thanks,
DC

Rom manager isnt supported on any dell device.

This is my understanding also, although I did not find the actual thread that stated so.
I believe that ROM Manager does not recognize the CWM recovery because it is "buried" in the stock Dell recovery. I have been able to create a nandroid backup to a removable SD card, but only through the Clockwork recovery. So, ROM manager may be useless on the Dell Streak 7.

ROM manager requires an official CWM build or something I believe.
The connectivity code requires you to build as koush (the main dev of CWM/ROM manager) i think. As a courtesy I dont build mine pretending to be koush.

Hi
My tablet is rooted and I and I where install Honystreak HD7 on it,so I shuold be happy I diden't brick it. Reading some of the answers it seams that Rom Manager is not sported.
I am new to Android. So I might sound a bit ignorant

[Q] Problem with installation Clockworkmod recovery

I have milestone with android 2.1 (original from motorola). I wanted to install MIUI. So I got Rom Manager and it installed CWM on my device, when I tried to reboot to recovery, original recovery appeared (with picture phone triangle), I want to backup my data, but the phone reboots to original recovery and backyp didn't appeared, and Rom Manager don't see it. I tried it with 2 methods of root: Universal Androot and SuperOneClick, they doesn't work. Idk what to else, but I won't try to Install Rom, I don't want to get UNSEEN CONSEQUENCES (gman, lol).
clockworkmod recovery doesnt work in milestone, correct me if it is wrong
you need to install OR 1.46 or AOR 3.3
You will need
Usb cable
VR sbf for your bootloader version, mine is 90.78
Rsdlite 5.0
OR zip extracted to root of sd card
Please search the guide here
Sent from my Milestone using XDA App
Rom Manager created update.zip file, maybe I will apply it with original recovery? (i mean "apply: update.zip"), or I'm going to Brick my device?
that'll definately NOT work!
most likely you will brick your device with this.
as suggested by tomcheng install OpenRecovery or Androidiani OR.
EDIT: as you own a milestone, forget about RomManager because it isn't compatible with your device.

[Q] ROM Manager not installing downloaded ROM

I can't seem to get a ROM to install on my motodroid - I have the latest ROM Manager and the ClockworkMod recovery app flashed but every time I try to install a ROM (either downloaded w/ ROM Manager or via a file saved to the SD vai the USB cable) I get the attached alert display. Alt+Ctrl+Del reboots me back to the starting point...
What's wrong?
Tom

seems like holding 'x' work to get me back from brick
I was able too restore back to the rpm i was using before i started with a backup in rom manager......awsome so now i can play without worry,,,,,, thanks so much!!!!!!
More on the problem
So, I consistently get the screen in the original post if I try to select the option presented after the download is complete to automatically boot to recovery and install the ROM - but if I install from a .zip while already in ClockworkMod, I am successful in installing a ROM. The problem seems to come with doing an over-the-air download in ROM Manager then attempting to transition to ClockworkMod to do the install. Alt-Ctrl-Del while on the screen displayed in the original post reboots and gets me back to my existing ROM...
It seems like something is not working as it should be, but it seems I have a way to make things work...
Tom
"Reboot into Recovery" also fails
I just tried to "Reboot into Recovery" from ROM Manager and that also failed (gave me the dead screen shown on the original post)...
Booting while holding x gets me into ClockworkMod successfully. I currently have ClockworkMod version 3.1.0.2 installed (it has given me the most success so far).
Any suggestions?
Tom
It seems I was wrong - I'm not currently able to boot into recovery using the x button during boot...
Tom
Getting better
I flashed back to the "current" ClockworkMod - 2.5.0.1 - and now I can "Reboot into Recovery"...
Maybe not better...
Errr My device seems flaky - I tried to install a ROM and the transition to ClockworkMod did not work again... Isn't this supposed to "Just work"?
More success yesterday
Once I got Pete's Gingerbread ROM loaded/installed (via .zip file) my problems getting to ClockworkMod and trying new ROMs seem to have cleaned up.
After performing the "e-mail connect" (to do that I had to turn off Droidwall) I was successful in downloading directly to the phone and flashing a new ROM.
Good luck all...
Tom

How do i fix this?
Your link to the ROM is broken. What ROM are you trying to use? Revolt?
Have you rooted your phone and installed the recovery software?
If you have a stock phone, it is on V6, and you will need to downgrade to V4 before you can root the phone and install a custom ROM. You can do that by following these instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1211295 (To register the DLL, open a CMD as administrator, then type 'regsvr32.exe "C:\LGElectronics\LGNPST\MOdels\VS910.dll" ')
After that you will need to root your phone, Superoneclick is one of the ways to do it. The newest version didn't work for me, but version 1.6.3 did.
Then you need to install a recovery program, the easiest way is with RevoToolKit. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1144951
Then you can reboot into recovery and install a custom ROM. Of course it's probably a good idea to back up your current system first.

I have rooted my phone, and what do you mean recovery software? And i fixed the ROM.
Clockworkmod is the recovery software, that's what installs the ROM. You have to reboot into recovery in order to access it.

I have ROM Manager From Clockworkmod, but the thing is when i try to flash my ROM it asks me to verify my phone model, but it shows a bunch of tablet models and doesnt have the lg revolution?
Rom Manager doesn't work with the revolution yet. Use the revotoolkit to install the version of clockwork that thecubed ported over, and then you'll be able to flash revolt 1.5

Took me a while to get that figured out, too... some trial and error finally got it so I could boot CWM into recovery mode, then installed the Revolt mod from the zip file. All seems to be going well now

Rom Manager 4 and CWM 5 Question

My phone is rooted and has CWM 5.0.2.7 installed. I just installed Rom Manager 4.8.0.7 from the Market but it does not seem to be compatible with CWM5.
If I try to do anything from within Rom Manager it tells me that I must have CWM installed. If I click "Install" it asks me to Confirm Phone Model but the Galaxy Note is not listed in the options. Help!!
You have already CWM installed - there is no need for Rom Manager which essentially is quite similar. Anyway Rom Manager is not compatible for the Note

[Q] Installing CWM through Rom Manager

I have successfully rooted my Samsung Galaxy Note, but it still doesn't have CWM installed. So I downloaded Rom Manager from the market, and tried to flash CWM from there. However the "Confirm Phone Model" dialog does not list the Galaxy Note I attached a screenshot of the choices.
Which do I pick? Or should I install CWM the long way?
Saw this thread, proceeding to this thread. Long method it is~
^^
Yes U R on right track
I have the same problem, I was able to ROOT and install CWM (I have version 5.0.2.7) using the instructions in this post. But I cannot do a ROM Backup with ROM Manager because it does not recognize the Recovery as valid one, I can boot into recovery from ROM Manager but I cannot do a Backup, I tried with the Manual Flash Overdrive option in ROM Manager and did not work, please any suggestion how to make ROM Manager recognize CMW that was manually installed ?, thanks
i have the same issue with my Neo V. i installed CMW manually and wanted to do rom backups so that i can flash a new rom. unfortunately the rom manager im using wont allow me to backup telling me to install CMW which is redundant cause i already have CMW installed. and worse is its asking me to chose phone models where my phone models is not even supported. how do i get over these??? arent there any rom manager updates?
ROM manager is not supported to Note
Just open CWM applicayion, you will find backup option there only.
