DELL MINI5 尾插转接成 MicroUSB母口
Seems to be ¥58 RMB + ¥12/25 shipping, which is approx
$10.99 - 13.00 each.
Taobao is similar to amazon as a web store, it doesnt ship outside china though.
It's a 30 pin dock connector on one end and a mini usb port on the other end, so you can use any old mini usb cable on it. (like most phones) It's MINI usb and not MICRO as used on very new phones.
Seems to use the same connector head as the otg cable one, might be the same manufacturer of the heads.
Dell should have made official ones themselves, the stock cable is redicilious as it's essentially propriatary. This is most true for being on the road when you need to charge, you need both the cable and a charger with an actual port. Buying a charger with a 30 pin dock connector built in means that it's tied to the s5/7. With this you can use and old microUSB charger.
Quick facts:
The Streak does NOT use the PDMI connector standard. It merely uses the same head and SOME of the same pinouts. There are no devices out that use standardized PDMI. Dell internally refers to it as the '30 pin dock connector'
This should work on the s5 and s7 as they use the same dock connector, wont work on the s10 as it uses a different 40 pin connector.

Repost from the S5 accessory subforum, applies to the s7 just as much.
Please comment on the original post if you wish to do so, the link is the ">" at the top of the quote block

Wonder if this would help hooking up USB devices to the streak? Would it work you think?

Can someone explain the USB sync/charge interface?

Ok, so hoepfully someone can clear this up as I don't yet have my Kaiser (tilt) and am trying to get some accessories.
I previously had a PPC-6700 which synced and charged via a standard mini-USB jack.
I then upgraded to the PPC-6800 which I only had for about a week (had to give it back to my work). With that device there was a different type of usb jack on it that seems to be what the Kaiser also has. Can someone tell me what this is called?
From my recollection however, this slightly different jack would also accept the typical mini-usb plug as i can remember using my PPC-6700 wall charger on it.
So can you use standard USB to mini-USB plugs to interface the Kaiser with either a PC for sync/charge or to a wall-charger? What is the new interface called and what is the point of it?
thanks much!
I may have actually answerd my own question as I have found (I think) the name for this new interface... EXTUSBTM ? Is this correct. And the point is to interface the charger/sync and audio headset together?
If this is all it does then I should be fine using all my old mini-usb plugs for data interface/charging, right?
thx!
Yes, you can use a standard 5 pin mini USB cable. The port is HTC's 11 pin combination sync/charge/audio port. Both their plug and the standard 5 pin mini USB plugs fit and work.
Wikipedia (for once!) isn't too big on details here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTC_ExtUSB
But basically, it's got 11 pins to handle audio, power and syncing.
Have a look here for pinouts etc.

Four HTC Wallaby cradles/docks for the cost of postage

EDIT: Took a photo and made a recount.
Hi there,
I have four unused cradles/docks for the HTC Wallaby. They are a cradle with a USB cord. No power adapter, but it seems there is some other adapter thingy in their too.
Basically, I just want to get rid of them, and I suspect some people on here could use them. I would really prefer to only post to Australia. Perhaps if there is another Australian user on here they could then post them to others if they felt the urge?
I can send them for the cost of postage, which is likely to be about $15 or so.
Let me know either through here or via PM if you are interested.
Cheers!

Why don't you sell them on eBay?
wallaby cradles have good USB chords in them. theyre standard usb cable attached to a adapter for the old htc connector, at least mine was. its still my main flashcable, handy little thing.

Activate Navi Panel without Car Kit, with simple mod

Hi
I don't know if people realise this but you can modify a generic car charger to automaticlly activate the Navi Panel mode so you don't need to buy the SU400 kit.
You will need a car charger that is capable of suppying 1 amp, to enable fast charging. ( Use an app called Spoon Charge to check) or disassemble the USB Micro A plug and ensure Data- and Data + are soldered together. DO NOT solder Data - and Data + togehter if not already done so this means the device is not capable of supplying 1amp.
If so you should have a unused pin ( this is called the ID pin) solder this along with Data + and Data - to OV.
When the charger is connected it will launch Navi Panle if enabled and turn on bluetooth and pair to a set device.
I will take a pic of the modded plug and post it up. In theory I would assume the same mechanism is used on more than this device.
Wayne
OMG LEGEND bro. lol. Finally someone figured out HOW to do this so you don't have to buy that overpriced HD2 carkit. Thanks. Mod's this should be a sticky.
mods seriously this should be front page news
Are you sure, that this will work? Did you tried it yourself? Cause my CU-S400 is also activaiting the Navipanel even if i don't have plugged in the Charger! So I think that it hasn't anything to do with the mAh-size of the charging unit....
You're right.
Right connections for recognition Car Kit Mode :

USB Wall Plug

Thinkgeek recently reviewed a replacement wall plug that can supply up to 2.1 amps over a USB port.
Seems like a perfect fit for where you charge your nook color!

In a similar vein, ThinkGeek also has this, which lets you draw USB power from an outlet that has something else plugged into it. Up to 1 amp.

I'm wary of the 1 amp output, though that looks useful for when you're on the go or travelling.
The 2.1 amp permenant household solution means I can create a charging dock in my office with very little fuss.
http://fastmac.com/usocket.php
I got one of these for my birthday this January. Really works but I still think the NC charges faster directly from their dedicated wall plug.
Yes, I'm not sure why but some people get 2 amp usb chargers that charge their nook at the same time as the stock charger.
However, my experience has been not the case.
The cable itself is known to be important, but the charger also has something about it that's unique or made differently to allow full 2 amp charging.
There are usb inter-connects that people sell that allow charging from lower amp chargers, I'm wondering if this bypasses whatever check that keeps the nook from charging at 2amps on a nonstock charger.

Best Charger For N7 (or any USB device)

I've been hunting for an extra, high quality, 2A USB charger for my devices - but I didn't want to pay $25-$30 to get a Samsung or Asus 2A USB charger. And then I came across this blog entry by Ken Shirriff where he went and reviewed 12 different USB chargers including genuine and fake apple chargers + other brands.
http://goo.gl/rym3M
Really good and informative post. Definitely recommend a read. For the Cole's notes version, apple makes great USB chargers ... but not the best. The best USB charger in this review actually turned out to be the USB charger that came with the ill-fated HP TouchPad. This charger has very low noise and voltage drop characteristics.
What's more, you can actually get these great HP chargers for $15 on eBay. Or via Kijiji for $15 if you're in the Toronto area.
Mine is off Kijiji and here are logged screenshots of my N7 charging from 12% to 100% with both the Asus charger that came with it and the HP Charger. The HP charger managed to take 20 minutes off my N7's charge time! :good:

I bought the HP touchpad charger for my old Xoom FE. It was a great USB charger, and came with a bunch of heads for global use. Actually seemed to do the 2A charging thing too!

I just ordered my Nexus 7 today and you saved me a bit of searching for a reasonably priced charger. Thanks!
