No download mode or recovery. Just boots to that crashed screen. I tried making a jig but the phone would not boot from 300 or 301k ohm resistor. So I only have the att screen, crash screen and I also get the battery screen when I attempt to go into download mode. PLEASE HELP!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye4QnZdur2g&feature=youtu.be
You're not hard bricked, hard brick, you'd have nothing at all. try to pull your battery for a couple min. Put it back in and try your jig again(I'll assume it has worked before)
Also, what were you doing that caused this?
What did you have installed for a ROM?
Also, I'm at work and they block youtube, so I can't see your video, can you upload a photo of your screen error
You need GB bootloaders, that is what is wrong, why don't people read anymore

I'm sorry. My mistake was that I did not flash GB bootloader and I attempted to install a GB rom through CWM. My bad.
Download mode doesn't seem to work and I'm not positive my Jig works as I just got the resistors from radioshack and am touching the two pins but the phone does nothing. If I hold both volume buttons while plugging in usb it will have the circle icon and then go to the battery charging screen.
heres a screenshot from his youtube vid for reference.
is this what happens when you dont have the gingerbread bootloaders??

when just using your fingers to do quick jig, make sure your fingers arent touching both sides of the resistor! your finger creates a parallel path that alters the total resistance. its really complicated...... USE TAPE TO HOLD YOUR "jig"
Yahh that is the result of no GB bL and Gb ROM! I'm not mad just people screw stuff up and ask for help when its too late.
Nobody minds helping you if your phone isn't bricked yet, but to fix bricked phones over text isn't easy

I tried all the download mode methods. It appears that the actual download mode has the same "crash screen" issue then just resets.

It doesn't have to, you could just touch the points for 5 seconds. Making one is pretty easy. Otherwise I would suggest getting one here.

Right, and I think with all the Gingerbread ROMs now, it'll be even more of a failsafe for those without the button combo. My wife's captivate was bought later and doesn't have the combo, so I bought a jig just so I don't have to see her cry if she gets a bad flash.
pm'd - hopefully i can grab one off you this weekend

Plug in the usb and press and hold vol up and down and power. When the screen goes black let go of power while continuing to hold vol up and down. Should bring you back to download mode
What you have to do is run Odin with the usb connected to the phone, then you unplug and plug the usb back in, hold the vol - and + with the power button at the same time, once the screen goes black, release the power button, but keep holding the vol - and + buttons and Odin will recognize your phone. then the phone will be at the downloading screen
but really, you should go over to the Serendipity 7 thread, you will get more help from there and it's where this topic belongs.
did I say that already?

Is your phone under warranty? If yes just smartflash your original rom and go to the service center.
Mine speaker was replaced for the same problem
I had no warranty. My biggest concern if is it possible to find the speaker here in Uruguay.

If u want it working just give a WILD try.... Remove the speaker and use a hair dryer and heat the speakers- (remember REMOVE THE SPEAKERS)
HEAT FOR SOME 10-30 SECONDS and let it cool for some 2-3mins let know if this worked

Turn off all the lights in your house make it as dark as possible. Then ring your phone and look for the flash when it lights up. If it doesn't work go to another room and try again. This is always my last resort strategy before messing up the house looking for it. It's normally in my pants or shirt pocket.

Was interested in how they actually did connect the battery, if they were just imitating Apple on the outside and put a regular battery in, with regular connectors but sealed the back cover. I see they didnt. Which is something good in something fundamentally bad
yep it's easy to open the back of phone but i was septic for revert the battery . but if it's possible maybe we have a chance to unlock the bootloader with testpoint technic

There is one screw under the sim/mem card slot. Take that out. you can then use something thin to separate the back cover from the rest of the phone.
Its a bit stiff but it will come off.
I have had my cover off.
BUT be careful around the usb port as the plastic there is thin and can and will snap if your not gentle with it around that area.

Sent from my LT30p using xda app-developers app
Pardon my ignorance, but what is a test point?
Not to worry, we're all learners here! The test point, as far as I am concerned/aware, is a way of unlocking the bootloader through a more physical process than just flashing something. I'm not sure how it works, nor what the "official" use of it is but it's been mentioned several times in other Xperia device forums so I'm looking into them at the moment for a way to unlock my bootloader with rooting status: no.

Yeah, the test point unlock, remember that from my good ol' days with my Xperia Neo V. I'm not sure what its actual use was in terms of its official design, but it was shorted out in the process and allowed for the unlocking without having to go through the official Sony unlocking process, pretty much allowing for you to relock it and still retain warranty, DRM wasn't wiped, etc. But if you accidentally used the wrong point, the phone bricked. ^^"
