I'm trying to connect a Motorola Bluetooth keyboard to my Galaxy Tab (Rogers, Rooted) The tab sees the keyboard but doesn't pair. When I click the 'pair with this device' button on the Tab I get a screen that says "Enter PIN "1234456" to pair with Motorola Bluetooth Wireless keyboard." The digits are always different every time I press the button and typing those numbers into the keyboard, doesn't pair the two devices.
I've managed to get Kies to connect my device, but it says the device is not updateable. So, I don't see any options for updating to a newer version through that way.
What do I need to do to get my Tab to pair with this keyboard?
Marvout
Would upgrading to [2.3.3] ◄► Overcome ROM v2.0.0 BETA 2 ◄► GINGERBREAD!!! ◄► help me? Would I get Bluetooth ability by updating my ROM?
Don't mind me, I'm the one in the corner talk'n to myself out loud. <grin>
Just updated to [2.3.3] ◄► Overcome ROM v2.0.0 BETA 2 ◄► GINGERBREAD. Worked just fine. But, no, it doesn't help my bluetooth issues.
i have a Microsoft bluetooyh keyboard and it's work fine with the tab ( GTP1000 )
Update to 2.3.3 overcome, I use a Plantronics BT Headset, and of all things an Apple BT Keyboard. works great.
I had a similar issue with my Tomtop bt keyboard, but figured it out. If the motorola keyboard has an FN key, hold down the FN key while typing the numbers and while still holding down the FN key, press the ENTER key. Hopefully this works for you
Wish I hadn't gotten a Sprint Tab. No keyboard for me at all....yet.
Hi, first of all thank you for the fantastic work of this forum and apologize for my bad English.
Recently, I bought a Galaxy Tab. The wireless model, GT-P1010.
I have a problem with a bluetooth keyboard. The keyboard works perfectly with my HTC HD2 with "Typhoon CM7 ROM" in this forum, but I can not connect to the Galaxy Tab.
Any suggestions? I'm desperate.
Thanks in advance.
Regards.
your model doesn't support the bluetooth human interface device (HID) stack. so it won't connect to mice, or keyboards.

What boodafli said is correct, unfortunately you won't be able to use HID devices with the Galaxy Tab. However, it does support the Serial Port Profile, which means it should work with a bluetooth keyboard that supports SPP, such as the Freedom Pro. Of course, that does have the downside of you having to buy another keyboard :-\
Thank you very much for your answers.
Really appreciate it all the help you can give me. I followed the steps in this manual:
http://i-miss-erin.blogspot.com/2009/09/connect-bluetooth-keyboard-in-android.html
to add the function of HID, but do not get it to work.
Can anyone support me how to do this?
Thanks!
so i find it has a different way of how to work compared to bluetooth keyboard

i know this is a bit of an old thread but I stumbled on to it while using google. I was having problems pairing bluetooth HID with my p1000.
I wanted to let you know as well as any other googlers that happen upon this thread that to solve the issue I upgraded to ICS CM9 stable.
I was originally using overcome rom 4.1.0 and my understanding is that there was some sort of issue with the overcome kernal and bluetooth hid.
I also learned many carriers disabled bluetooth hid either out of the box or with updates.
So to fix the problem I would suggest upgrading to ICS it has worked beautiful for my needs and fixed the problem I was having.
I have paired a bluetooth keyboard bluetooth mouse and ps3 controller.

Hi, I bought a bluetooth Keyboard with integrated touchpad from Itek. Everything works, but the mouse is a bit slow and I can't change the keyboard layout! I'm using a cm7 rom. Does anybody have a solution?

Same Problem
HI! I have the same problem. I've been using my bluetooth headset with a Motorola Pro with Android 2.3.6 without any issue.
Now, the same headset with my Optimus 4x with JB it doesn't launch none voice commands app. Neither Google voice search or Vlingo or any other.
Could anybody solve this?
Thanks!
I have the 4.3 ota from Rogers installed. It has broken the Bluetooth Voice dial with my 2012 Chev Equinox which worked under 4.1. I can dial from the car touch screen by selecting the number from the address book, but not using the call "joe" voice command.
All other BT media functions work. My old BlueAnt S4 still works as it uses the phone voice command.
I have called Rogers and HTC with no success.
Anyone have any ideas to correct this?

I have found another thread with an answer. Remove all brackets and hyphens and dial works. Not a great solution but it works.
