[Q] Additional dictionary on stock CM7 keyboard - LG Optimus Black

Hi guys,
Does anyone know how to add additional dictionaries (I'm interested in the Romanian dictionary but this could apply to others as well) to the standard GB Keyboard in the CM7? I know it has something to do with modifying the LatinIME.apk main.dict file or something similar, though I can't seem to locate a valid file that would contain the romanian words. Can anyone share some thoughts on this? Thanks!

Tri Swype it definately has Romanian. If you dont like the swyping switch of and still have nicer keyboard and languages support.
Just register on theyr site

Swype is nice and does have a Romanian dictionary, but I'm already a fan of the default GB keyboard. Anyone knows how I can get myself a dictionary for the default keyboard?

In theory all the keyboards should be available in all phones, it's the registry setting that would be nice to know, so if you could post the tegic reg it would be nice.
You would find it in HKLM/software/tegic
Thanks

Can you be more exact? there are like hundreds of registrys in that folder HKLM/software/tegic/eT9
None in ../tegic exept that folder
Just save the HKLM/software/Tegic registry folder as the "hundreds" of entries describe what keyboard layout, what tegic wordbook to use and so on and so on.
I actually added Danish to my HK version by adding all the registry setting for Danish in to that folder
any news on this?
I've installed duttys rom, and the first impression is great. Only played with it for half a day.
I installed the old blackstone keyboards (which I found in a xperia-thread) and the 14 languages t9-cab, and can now type with norwegian t9. The thing is that the keyboard layout is english, so I have to remeber where they norwegian keys are put on the compqact qwerty.
Anyone got a solution?
A nordic keyboard for these new ROMs would be great. Is it available?
I am using Davideuck's V3 Rhodium and the only thing i miss is the nordic keyboard layout.
To gather everything up nicely..
T9 Input 14 Languages Update.cab (2.3 KB)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=94698&d=1214149758
This only adds the option to select the language i want. When writing with XT9 enabled in the full qwerty nothing shows up on screen. If I set it to ABC it works. Keyboard layout is still english, or at least without æ, ø and å witch are the Norwegian characters I would like to get on my keyboard.
Then I will need some dictionary file to add XT9, right? Where can I get that?
Also, when my full qwerty works with XT9 I would prefer to move another step; how do I get compact qwerty with XT9 and nordic (æøå for me) characters?
I lost the compact qwerty when I flashed my ROM with some Dutty-ROM. Oh, and don't get me wrong. His ROMs are fantastic, but I would still love to have compact qwerty
Tried This: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=462284
I installed this reg attached as zip file in this post, and got XT9 working but no keyboard layout in Danish. Maybe the new keyboard is not meant to be like that? Its maybe supposed to be like the Iphone where you keep pressing "o" to get ø etc..? Because this is working fine.. and even the XT9 is suggest words when you use the "o" instead of ø when writing the words.
hmm
I downloaded the cab mentioned in the previous post. It's a 6MB file and it gave me an error message 5 seconds in the install process
"Installation of Touch-IT_Blackstone_Nor_swe_Den_Fin.cab was unsuccessful."
Oh well... I feel like I have searched the entire web twice for this, but finding dictionaries for other languages proves to be difficult. I could even settle for only Norwegian

This is what i use.
It's not the latest HTC version ( I find the latest much slower anyway), but it works.
Install the keyboard first, then the dictionary.
Nordic Keyboard
I think there's are still missing files needed to make the latest HTC keyboard into Nordic through registry settings.
Oh joy
Blessings.. it worked!
I have the problem that I'm a danish user, but I use dutty's rom with the new ezimput 2.0 keyboard, but no danish language exist yet to that one.
Now when I try to install the original HD keyboard, the "phone keypad" doesn't work anymore, and hence make it impossible to use T9. It works with full QWERTY, but my fat fingers doesn't work well on that one.
Anyone have the same problem, and have found an solution?
What do you mean that no Danish language exist for that.
Phone keyboard is having "ø" under "mno" button and just like normal multitap.
If it's the T9 you are looking for then use the attached reg key and you'll have Danish added to the language list.
I'm using Dutty 3.3 and it works without problems.

Thanks for the reg file.
I didn't know you were able to have danish on the new ezimput 2, as they state on the thread in "dev and hacking" that it only supports eng, ger, fre, spa etc.
From were do you get the ldb files and kdb files? Or are the danish one included in the dutty rom? Or can you please upload those files aswell?
-offtopic-
I have used my diamond for almost a year and really enjoys it, so now I thought that I would go to the HD. - And I feel like a beginner again. What rom is the best, what is the new essentials etc... :-/
I used the dic file from one of the oploads in this thread, and it worked beutifull. Thanks.
More Languages on ezimput2 from Topaz
This file enables more T9 languages on the latest keyboard.
Layout will be the same.
Did anyone find any solution to the compact keyboard?
In my opinion the compact keyboard is the best one, but in Duttys rom's it doesnt exist.. and Duttys rom is really great so I dont wanna change rom.
The perceft solution would be Dutty rom + Compact keyboard with working T9 swe lang.
please please... tell me that someone solved this...
Here's a mod on the previous Danish reg file to make it work for Swedish instead.

T9 Trace application available?

Just found an article (in Norwegian) about this application.
http://www.nuance.com/t9trace/
It's seems like a Swype competitor, but supports more languages, and to me, who needs Norwegian language input, it could be a better alternative.
Pictures show that Android platform is supported.
Couldn't find it in Marked, but the press release from 3 days ago may indicate that it will be available soon.

hmm seems like a good competitor for swype, i prefer their layout better than swypes.
Anyone would know where to find the .apk for T9 Trace ?
I asked for it on twitter and they told me it's not a software to download. It come with your phone or forget about it...
Almost looks like the SlideIt keyboard available on the market. That works great on my Nexus. I just wish I could long press keys for numbers or punctuation. I use that as Swype isn't available on the market and it works great.
Plus if you buy the full version, there are a lot of language dictionaries you can download for free to get support for the language.
http://www.cyrket.com/p/android/com.dasur.slideit/
Here is the list of all the languages:
http://www.cyrket.com/search?market=android&q=slideit
if you google swyoe for my touch 3g you can use that. its all i use

Does it support Norwegian language and characters?
not sure actually would have to find out for yourself
i use en us
Still no way to get t9 trace ?
I am looking for the app on the market, the internet : nothing
any link to an apk ?
Its nearing a year....
No update about T9 trace... :-(
Definitely more then a year now, i cant find T9 trace anywhere, only old references to flex t9 which is trace but doesnt have the newer features that predict words like Swift key.
It really seems like good competition for the new Touchpal which swypes and predicts but just cant find it anywhere :-(

[Q] Dictionaries for Auto-Correction with AOSP Keyboard

Hi guys,
On an AOKP rom in Settings > Language & input > Android keyboard settings > Add-on dictionaries.
I can choose to install a Dutch dictionary. It downloads something, and says "installed".
However it doesn't do anything, the keyboard only auto-corrects words found in my contacts, so there is probably no, or an empty dictionary downloaded.
The pre-installed English dictionary works fine.
I really like the way auto-correction works on ICS, with the red underline to correct a word.
I'm using ICS keyboard from the market at the moment.
But I would really like to use the stock/built-in keyboard in my own language, because of the correction method.
Does anybody know a fix?
Does it work for Galaxy Nexus in dutch? Maybe we could port something.
Does anyone know where the dictionaries are downloaded from?
Where are they installed and what kind of file is it?
I really hope someone could give me some insight. I've Googled a bit and couldn't find anything.
Cheers,
Daan
edit:
Okay, I installed a stock Galaxy Nexus LatinIME.apk, works fine for now.
I should notice though that the spelling-checker does not work in dutch.
Auto-correct and spelling-check are two different things.
The first corrects mistakes while typing, the second underlines a mistyped word in red. So you can choose to correct it by clicking on it.
Spell-checker supports English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Greek.
Auto-correct supports a lot of languages.

Dictionaries for AOSP keyboard

Hi there!
Been searching around the web for a few hours now, trying to find a answer to this
The Android AOSP keyboard only contains English, Duch, Spanish, French, Italian and Polish dictionaries. Previously, I've just switched over to Google Keyboard whenever I flashed a new ROM. Now though, I would really like to start using the AOSP keyboard that comes with most roms.
The problem is that I need a Norwegian dictionary. Been through the settings from start to finish, as well as combing the net, looking for a way. I am running Euphoria 1.1, but most of what I find Is JellyBean and some KitKat.
I want to know if it is possible to add additional languages to the dictionary in the AOSP keyboard? I do not want to switch over to 3rd party keyboards or the Google keyboard.
Thanks!

Settings, Language and Input, Android Keyboard (AOSP), Languages, Norwegian Bokmal?
I don't know if that's the exact Norwegian dictionary you need?

Nah, I can choose the Norwegian layout, no problem. It is the dictionary for autocorrect and spell checking that's not downloading.

Alternative Input Method for Hardware Keyboard?

I bought the hardware keyboard, and I actually really like it. The problem is, I need to use unsupported languages. English works fine, but there's no option for Japanese or Mongolian, both of which I use on a daily basis. (I have enabled both languages in the Samsung keyboard, but they just don't work with the hardware keyboard, for whatever reason.)
I'm wondering if anyone has found a way to allow it to switch to a non-Samsung keyboard when the keyboard is attached. Or any other ideas are appreciated.
Thanks.

Typing Japanese on a qwerty keyboard is actually very common. Even Samsung's Japanese IME has QWERTY input-type. You just type the English letter equivalent of the Japanese character.
Oddly, the hardware keyboard does work for Chinese and Korean with Samsung's software, just not Japanese.
Mongolian, yes, it could be said that you can't see what you're typing, but if you're used to a Mongolian keyboard, you will generally know where the letters are.
If I were to use a bluetooth or USB keyboard, I could input these languages, so I thought the same and bought the samsung keyboard.
Is it nice to type on and does it make it any easier to type? I'm waiting and hoping that I will be able to see this case someday in the Samsung experience section in best buy so I can see how it feels.
You're the first one here that I've seen mention actually having one in their possession!
