Hey guys,
Could anyone suggest to me the fastest, most stable ROM for my G1 that doesn't run into any issues (especially from everyday use).
I've used plenty of them, mainly sourcing off Cyanogen but I seem to always get some delays especially with my phone, so many people have told me they tried ringing me but went straight to voicemail and my phone has no missed calls or anything, just sitting idle and this is a major pain.
I'm currently on the original version waiting to upgrade, is there an official Cupcake version I can download? My calls coming in quickly are more important than themes right now.
Thanks!
Im using CSDIv1....its a FAST rom. I dont have Swap enable(Sucks battery) nor 10MB Ramhack(Like my 3D apps), and still its a really fast rom.
There is only one problem with it, and its that the Keyboard is on Spanish. But you can change it just pushing a folder to the system, and voila. If you need some asistance, just ask.
I suggest the latest MghtyMax ROM. Is the fastest and stable Hero ROM I've tested.
super d 1.8...i made the switch from Cyanogen a few weeks ago and its been 100% worth it. Super D's rom is lighting fast I promise and i had a problem with missed texts on CM's rom and have not had that problem since i switched.

I keep hearing this, and as soon as my class 6 micro comes in, I think Im gonna have to try it.
Its hard to believe, as I just flashed cyanogen 4.2.14.1 ands its freakin fast. Hard to believe theres a faster one.
Guess I ll have to give it a shot. Has anyone actually tried cyanogens newest and compared it to super d 1.8? Is it really THAT much faster?

i did i came from cm 4.2.14.1 and i couldnt believehow much faster it was...my weather clock widget is always right now too
@dmm0816
Nice. My new card should be here tomorrow. I ll flash tomorrow then. Hoping the higher class card will make some difference too.
Thanks for your help man.
For everyday use you want Cyanogen.
For Speed get either FastTest or SuperD. They're basically the same thing.
Hope this helps.
I suggest DarkStar theme for Cyanogen and SuperD
I use king's 2.3 hero rom, I only use hero roms anyway though, best normal rom I've tried, however is super d. although, cyanogen is very "noob friendly"

Hmm..Im curious why you say that. What makes Cyanogen more "everyday useable"? What would you actually say are the biggest differences in the 2 roms?
Really they're all apples, just different flavours. From what I've read, they all have the same bits and bites from Eclair; cyanogen's modded code (right?). I personally pick CM over everything else because the community support for CM is a larger, more discussion. Of course, this doesn't mean the other ones are inferior. You should try them all for like a day or two. Wipe before you try a new one, so you can tell which one really works best.
2.1 Roms on the other hand I think need more work. Not all the drivers work yet. I tried OpenEclair and I felt a bit handicap compared to the 1.6 Roms. Also, for me at least, it didn't feel as fast as the 1.6 Roms. Good roms but need more work.
I was running Cyonogen for some time and I was pleased but I love to experiment. For the last 2 weeks I've been testing the 2.1 ASOP roms out from King(1.5) and Enclair (1.15). Both are great builds but I prefer the customization in enclair more and both are fairly stable. I was having the issue of texts getting deleted and the Rom's just seemed like they were not as quick as I wanted them to be. I enjoyed the new layout but I was finally just frustrated with overall performance and I keep reading about the Super D build. I wiped my phone and threw it on few hours ago and WOW! It is blazing fast and very stable from what I can see so far. I've tried some apps out that were proving difficult before and just wow I am amazed. This build may be on the 1.6 based side but I am glad to have performance back over some "prettyness". I may try the 2.1 builds again but I will wait for all of the kinks to work out. So my opinion is hands down Super D ( I believe it was 1.8 v) is the best build available right when looking at overall performance and stability. I love it! Made my day!
*on a side note*
I could never get Youtube to install and work with the enclair ASOP 2.1 builds, it was very frustrating as you cannot download the app from the app store and issues installing manually via the APK.
I found AmonRa 1.6.3 to be the fastest and stable ROM, in my opinion

I want speed, stabilitiy and normal functionality for the phone for my girlfriend. It looks like the Cyanogen is the safest bet... am I right to infer that 2.0/2.1 ROMs aren't quite up to snuff yet?

In my experience, 1.6 will always be snappier then 2.0/2.1 builds; at least for now. Our G1s don't exactly have a huge amount of space to store bigger ROMs. Really having 2.1 isn't necessary but it does have some nice features that 1.6 doesn't have. Like ability to have multiple google accounts and facebook sync. I can't really think of anything else of the top of my head but I'm sure there are at least a few others.
One thing people haven't gotten to work on 2.1 ROMs for G1, is the video camera. Camera works though on most 2.1 ROMs now (all?). The new contacts display for 2.1 is nice but even laggier then the one used in 1.6 ROMs. Can't think of anything else, someone help!
Basically, 2.1 has a lot more STUFF in general. Whether you need this extra stuff is up to you, because STUFF needs more RAM stuff, and G1 is low in that department.
My opinion:
MghtyMax 1.9.1 is veeeery fast!!! (with Swap, SetCpu and all that stuff, of course)
I like any of the Roms from King's collection and I like Super-D verry much too. Cyanogen's rom has a larger community cause that's normally what people hear when learning about rooting and stuff. I only used Cyan when I compared Enom to Cyan and Enom's was faster and everything was great.Super-D is faster than Cyan but seems slower than Enom's, Cyan has the eclair stuff just like Super-D. But I think its up to what you like you cant let others decide cause their perception of speed is diff from yours.
Fast Test v. 2.3
Its pretty much a super d rom with the darkstar theme embeded within.
No fcs at all. I recommend it highly!!

I just actually read about that rom, and it seems good. What makes me wonder though, is that some people say its faster than Super D. How could it actually be faster, as this rom is more or less just Super D with a theme installed? Surely, having the theme installed would decrease performance buy a little bit, vs increase it.
But what do I know
Edit: Ok, Im stupid. as Fast Test doesnt have the Eclaire stuff, thats where a performance increase would come. **slams head on keyboard**
Super D, hands down. No rom even comes close.
And Fast Test 2.3 IS Super D, just with a theme, so unless you want that specific theme, there's no point in getting Fast Test, when Super D is available.
I cannot neglect a fact after i tried so many roms by cyanogen: no one rom is so stable for everyday use.
for 1.6 , the 4.2.15.1 is the last version ,but you must wait a long time to make a normal call ,it is not standale, and it also had a missing sms issue.
for 2.1, i do not know if there is still a updated version after 5.0.8. the camera issue is still there , and also i encounter 2 times cannot-bootup issue (only reflash the rom again).
cyanogen's work is awesome , but i think the stable rom is so important for normal use. IS THERE ANY ONE?
I'd suggest downgrading to the engineering spl, downgrading to rc29 and then waiting for the official OTA to get back to the official ROM.
that's the only STABLE rom out there. the rest is put together, but I personally don't care as I like to make fun of my friends who bought the N1 because they said the g1 would never see froyo.
Living on the edge has it's costs
considering that you're probably using a G1 and I use first gen MT3G and the rate at which new improved phones are coming out in these quick and disposable times, I think it is absolutely amazing that we can stick with new phones, try out there interfaces before they're even released. You're not hacking and I'm not hacking hardcore, but we get faux hack thanks to work of all these people who aren't making a dime on these roms. All lot of these people start like you and me and by flashing learn more and more about these phones. For example, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that you can go about using superuser terminal, which is thanks to quite a few people who made it possible for noobs to root their phone in the first place, anyways, in terminal you can decide how much priority you give to the phone apk. Google it. Hell there's a guy on the sapphire forum who's give instructions on how to build your own stock froyo so you can tweak it however you want, check it out, I'm thinking about it.
I was diehard nokia fan up until they sold me a n95 that had 3g, just not here and told me there was nothing they could do about it. I thought their system was open....geez it was nothing compared to this android thing.
the one thing that bites my a** here is seeing response to roms where people have lost focus of important things like manners. I'm not saying this is you, but check it out. Guy like Chrome or such, works super hard releasing a rom every other day and somebody chimes in, wifi doesn't work, or camera is force closing, not a daily driver, I flashing back....What? I mean, how about a thanks for chance to check out something new or hey, how about asking why it might not work and learning the process. Think about it, these guys got to have a day job, cause they ain't making it selling roms or monitoring forums to teach some guy how to flash, but they do it and they don't complain. Very rare to find this kinda service today or even yesterday.
Welcome to the community and learn something about why your phone with a certain rom isn't functioning perfectly, I think you'll be glad you did.
Are you kidding me, how picky are you gonna be? Especially since we are still getting support for the G1. Maybe you would be better off with an iphone. I'm rockin CM6 and damn proud of it.
Sent from my HTC Dream using XDA App
a little peculiar,i admit. cyanogen did and does great job.
Sent from my HTC Dream using XDA App
I normally flash on a daily basis just for fun and I can tell there are many roms that can be used as a daily rom and stable
one of them is "Eclair" "Super D" for me everything I need is working and fast
there is also a Froyo Rom by LefeuDeDieu that work fast and stable
for 1.6 I found super E the fastest
so I would say You haven't found the right set up for your phone and your needs
Try cyas 6.0 (froyo 2.2) RC1 with the new gapps (FRF91-3).... it flys for me if you don't install too many apps and is very stable (in my opinion more stable than cyas 5.x). If you pump it with apps the internal memory gets low, no matter how much you move to sd or clear the cache (due to the froyo apps2sd method). You can try too get things better with setcpu (compcache made things worse for me), but with too much load cyas 6.0 turns very slow for me.
/edit ... with Firerats CustomParitions (solving the froyo apps2sd low memory issue) and the CM6 Build from studjuce (using launcherpro instead of adw) its as fast as hell :O even faster than Clay's CSDI ... oh man i guess i have a new daily driver :>
For donut (1.6) i prefer HTCClay's CSDI REMIX, which runs stupid fast no matter how much apps you install on your sd-ext. I personally found it faster than Super D / E. This is my daily driver since i randomly use Cyas 6.0.
I assume you have danger SPL since you installed cyas 5x. (if not ... beware )

OP,
I am sorry for the flames you're receiving for asking a legitimate question. People on this board automatically make the assumption that users only want to use leading edge software. Xda has become very mainstream nowadays. News Media is driving everyday users here who just want an improved experience, but who dont necessarily understand the complexities of development. Does that mean they are not welcome? Absolutely not.
To answer your question, a rom based off donut or eclair will give you the results you are looking for. I specifically use zd donut 1.8 "got donut? " rom(ignore my signature)..... it is fast and stable. But so are the super e and supper d series roms. GivE them a go, you will be thankful. But every now and then flash a new rom just to check it out.
Good luck
Just my 2 cents
I am in the same boat, I like trying out new things but I need my phone for everyday use, that's why I picked up a spare G1 with cracked screen for less then $50 and use it to try out new stuff (currently CM6). My main driver - Super-D 1.9.3, the last stable version that you can actually call stable. I also removed whole bunch of stuff that I don't ever use and added some visual enhancements (clear settings widget, MusicMod, ADW latest launcher). Man, thant thing flyes and not a single FC in over 3 months.
All in all, it's inevitable that most of us will get new phones and these "improvements" will be oushined by stock roms but in the mean time be thankfull for what you get (for free!!!!) and learn enough to customize any rom to the point that it fits your needs.
Somebody else pointed this out earlier, but I'm gonna bring it up again. We're lucky to even have support for 2.1 on D/S. It's not meant for our devices and, yah, there are going to be some bugs, considering it was meant for a different devices. The same goes (pretty much) double for 2.2. When I got my Dream, I didn't imagine we would/could get past 1.6. I was freaking out when I got Eclair for the first time. Now we're on Froyo, same version as the N1, and (for me, at least) it's running better than Donut ever was for me.
While I do agree that we don't have many completely stable roms nowadays, I'm also grateful that we have developers like Cyanogen who still care about the lower income (I say that because I justt don't have the funds to purchase a higher end Android phone as of right now, and I suspect that may be the reason many other people have invested in one either) public enough to keep putting out solid, functional roms.
Count your blessings.
enomther "theofficial" roms are super stable.Keep coming back to them.

Here's my top choices of roms that ive found to be extremely fast
and stable as heck.
Donut Roms: 1st choice - Htcclay's superbad/superfast
2nd choice - SuperD.
Eclair Roms: 3rd choice - Chromatic 3.9.1
(Extremely fast and stable for a eclair rom but is nothing compared to those Donut roms.)

Hey paaaaan!
I totally understand where you coming from, I (and probably many users here) have exactly the same problem. When i got my MT3G and first rooted it (more than a year and a half now) i was trying out a different ROM everyday, just polaying around and having fun. Cyan's ROM's never really worked out for me and i think i got a bit traumatised about it (although i recognize the invaluable contribution he's been to the Android community - it just couldn't possible be the same scene without him and Google should, if it hasn't already, recognize this fact. But after some time i started wanting to have a stable rom, just something that wouldn't hang out on me or lagged all the time - this was quite some time ago, mind you, the Hero sense ROMs were coming out for the first time and 1.6 had just been released. after many tries i stuck with Dwang's Donut build (no longer developed) which at the time was the fastest and most stable ROM i found. I stuck in my head that none of the latest versions of Android would run as smooth in my phone so i stayed with Dwang's (flashing it every month or so) until very recently actually.
I don't really remember why but i decided to give a go to the newest ROM's after reading so much praise for them in here... and i must confess i was really taken back by how far the development had come and what i had missed. I've tried Cannon202 Complete Eclair 2.2, Clay's SuperBad 1.6 & 1.7 and now on Chromatic 3.9.1 and i must say they all are stable enough for everyday use, according to my standards. Now, you must note that many times what makes the ROM unstable is not the ROM itself but how you flash it and how you fill it. I ALWAYS wipe completely before flashing a ROM - and don't just do a complete wipe in recovery but actually use fastboot to wipe the system as well. Another thing you must note is the amount of apps you throw at it, and how fast i do it. If i install or recover all my apps after install no ROM holds stable... instead i go installing them little by little, as i need them... i found out that with the exact same ROM this makes a HUGE difference! Also, after you flash, wait for it to settle down before you start configuring it... i normally also do one or two reboots before i start tweaking anything or installing apps. Compcache and swap never really worked for me so i don't use it (though i do have the SD partioned for that). SetCPU and the right configuration on the settings of the phone (try Chrome's post-boot set-up on his Cromatic thread) make a huge difference.
I must confess i really like Clay's SUPERBAD ROM (1.6 actually works better for me then 1.7) but it seems it has been discontinued, unfortunately; and i still haven't tried any Froyo build (waiting for it to mature, let some problems be solved.... nothing really in it that i can't live without); but i consider all Eclair ROM's i've tried based of Cyan's 5.0.8 perfect for everyday use. I mean, they are faster than the stock Vodafone ROM it came with the phone. Of course, you will have problems after a while and need to rewipe and reflash but that is exactly why you rooted your phone right?
Hey guys, I am rooting a dream for someone I know. I was wondering what Rom I should flash for him as his first taste of the rooted life?
perhaps just the cm4.2 ?
Install him Froyo, it's mostly nice and fast, but what is most important it really gives you pleasure to have software that owners of more expensive phones pray for everyday .

I would not recommend flashing a release candidate for someone elses phone.
Unless you want to update the phone for your friend when the stable release is out. Keep in mind that you will need the DangerSPL and latest radio or else you will break your friends phone and that's just rude.
So I suggest CM5.0.8 (2.1) rom.
It still requires the Danger SPL but at least it's stable.
If you don't want to risk bricking the phone then 4.2.15.1 which is the final Donut (1.6) rom.
Be sure to have your friends permission before starting.
And know that you do not want or need swap on CM5 or CM6 roms.
And finally, stay away from Hero/SenseUI roms. Avoid them! I know that it's tempting because it looks neat and cool but they have their drawbacks. No bluetooth, require an ext partition, require swap enabled, some don't even have working video capture.
As for me, I recommend 1.6 and only 1.6. Everything above 2.0 is nice, pretty, etc, but it really just doesn't run fast or smoothly enough to call it a 100% reliable ROM. The G1's hardware is simply limited to only run ROMs up to 1.6 efficiently and well.
(Hahahaha I have no idea how many times I have said this in the past 2 weeks)

I completely, completely agree. If you want your friend to have a phone he can use and not have to call you to support every week, use a 1.6 ROM. If you want your friend to have a poor Android experience and want to run kicking and screaming to Apple, install 2.1/2,2 on their G1.
I bought my gf a Sprint Hero to see if she likes using Android. Might buy an Evo or whatever comes next if she likes the platform (this is her first smartphone, I've been using them for a loooong time - since the iPaq days!)
Anyway, the used one I bought her has stock 1.5 ROM on it, and I know that the Sprint 2.1 ROM is also available. I've searched all over and see mixed opinions on if its worth upgrading or not. A lot of bugs seem to crop up in the 2.1 version, but also some new features and better app compatibility in the market.
I'm a long-time HTC device user, but always WinMo, so I'm no stranger to flashing/modding etc. But I don't want to get into that at all with her phone, she'll get angry if I try to do something and then something else breaks, so I just want whatever stock ROM "just works" best. I don't want to have to "maintain" this device.
Any advice is appreciated, thanks in advance.
Hi there. As far as what "just works"...I have used both 1.5 and 2.1 stock...some people have experienced multiple problems. I used 2.1 stock for awhile before rooting...and quite honestly, the only problems I had was occasional lag...not drastic like some have reported....and rapid battery drain. I've since rooted 2.1 and use an overclocked kernel. Now, with GPS location off (still use cell service loc.), and no task killer whatsoever...i get almost 24 hours of battery with moderate to high usage. I experience no lag whatsoever. And, quite honestly, the rooting process and installing the OC'd kernel are VERY easy. I don't know about your girlfriend, but the skeptics I know...given a few days running straight stock unrooted...came back in a couple days begging me to root and make their Hero "run like mine".
Thanks for the info. I might go that route. Are you running a ROM with Sense? Did you just root the stock Sprint Sense ROM and OC it?
Any more help would be appreciated, like I said I've done a lot of ROM flashing and modding in the past but always on WinMo, I'm new to Android but have been reading up on these forums so I think I have a good sense of what needs to be done now. I'm not afraid of rooting / flashing processes, but I really don't want to put on ROMs where little weird glitches are going to piss her off. I don't mind dealing with that on my own phone, but this really does need to be a one-time job where I can just had it off to her and never have to deal with it again
I am running a ROM with Sense. It's the actually the HTC ROM that has been rooted. Here is a link to the thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=703267 It runs sweet. I also formatted the stock 2gb SD card to ext for use with Apps2SD and it worked flawlessly after flashing the ROM. There are plenty of straightforward instructions here in this forum. Like I said, I think your g/f will be very pleased with the speed and battery life using this message. I flash a couple roms now and then to try something new, but always come back to this 'cuz it "just works".
1.5 is faster & more stable imo...but outdated. 2.1 provides a few new features but it's really up to her which one she wants to use. try them both out.
for 2.1 id use the stock rooted sprint rom
for 1.5 id suggest the pancake rom.
If you flash one of the OC kernels, just know that not all phones can handle the OC speeds, especially on bootup. If you decide to flash an OC kernel, MAKE SURE you nandroid backup first in case that phone goes into bootloops or freezes after the new kernel. Start with the 691mhz one just to test, then if all is good you can move up to 710mhz or 768mhz if you want more.
Also, to answer your initial question, I personally think stock 2.1 is much better overall than 1.5. Without even considering OC kernels, extra apps, widgets, etc....Android 1.5 didn't even have native CDMA support, so it had to contain a lot more code/tweaking for our Sprint build, which is why it runs so slowly and laggy. 2.1 includes CDMA support which automatically makes the code smaller and it means the OS automatically runs more quickly and smoothly on almost all HTC Heroes.
The only big consistent issue I've heard of on stock 2.1 is terrible Bluetooth functionality. Most other issues are hit or miss cases that aren't very common.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the info, this has all been helpful.
To update, I dove in and just updated to the latest 2.1 Sprint official ROM (.6). I don't really think she has a current need to be rooted, as she doesn't use many apps, and doesn't need tethering.
If the need arises in the future for these things, I'll just flash the ROM linked above, or flash back to .5, root, and re-flash. Maybe by then there will be a root for .6 anyway and it will be even easier yet.
I'd also like to post my experience with 1.5 vs 2.1 I am not sure why everyone feels 2.1 is so much slower. I'm guessing it's because they haven't applied the .6 patch, which in addition to fixing the root exploit, also adds a bunch of speed enhancements in the UI.
2.1 is much faster on her phone than 1.5, especially scrolling in long lists, using the dialer, and even swiping between homescreens. She's quite happy with it, and I don't have to hack any fixes due to broken stuff in ROMs, so I'm happy too
I'm liking Android enough that I think I'm willing to buy another phone to play with, I got sick of dealing with flashing and hacking on my WinMo devices, so I went to iPhone. But I want a new Android HTC phone to play with, I think I'll buy a Nexus One or something.
hi...
last night i ported honeycomb 3.0 on my G1, and was hoping for a special experience, but as tonnes of things failed to work, flashed sense hero v1.5.
i have G1 qwertz, so the keyboard response is not perfect in the rom.
i have tried a number of other roms also. ginger yoshi was nice but had some problem with my network. froyo yoshi-i didnt hoo with that for long....
cm6 was okay...
i am loving the UI of sense rom though...
also, i had bought an extended 2850mAh battery on eBay but i dont think it's performing the way i expected 4-6 hrs at max on these roms
any suggestions??
thanks in advance...
btw, my 1st Qn.....
lol even though it's your first question... there are over 100 posts of people asking the same question... and the same answer applies... depends on the flasher (you)
now you say you like sense roms, only downfall is NO sense rom, i repeat NOOOO sense rom for the G1 has a working camcorder or bluetooth... NONE!!!! lol
k now that i got that out the way...
my suggestions...
1st. my rom of coarse SenseLX (great rom and the team and i keep it up to date and add features here and there for people in need, all you have to do is ask...)
2nd.. gingerbread with sense thisrom is still in development but omg it is amazing!!! trust me just try it you will be impressed... i haven't tested it in a while because i been busy keeping my rom updated but last time i tried it my mind was blown!!!! simply amazing for a G1 lol
3rd... Magic Sense this rom is by namit1994, who was a great help in the development of my SenseLX rom, he recently ported this rom for the G1 and has been busy working on it so you should be impressed with this also if you like sense
besides those 3.. you just have to read around the forums and kinda figure out what you like most... there many varieties of sense roms for the G1, people have worked very hard on these roms so they would appreciate a simple click of the thanks button! lol as would I but yeah so good luck with your rom hunt and dont forget to thank the developers for all there hard work!!
thnx a lot
will try sense lx 1st...
wanted a gingerbread only, basically...
thnx again!!!
You can also try SuperAosp 6.4, it had been doing good for me and I am happy with it.
I'm using Froyo by Laszlo for about 5 months, that's a great and stable rom.
Cyanogen is good
Just flashed Cyanogen 7.1. It's nice, true.
is cm 7 stable??? heard it's not yet...
flashed ginger yoshi(again)...it's nice and speedy...i have problems at times regarding my network(receiving messages)...can that be because of the radio(2.22.28.25) atm...
i tried the sense roms, but they take up some amount of space making the device a wee bit slow for me cos ds looked decent though
So, CM-best?
Hi guys and girls,
Im beginner around here, so be patient with me.
So, ok, when i was reading the first reply, i was like, yes, sence is nice. Have tried some Hero rom on my G1, that was on an sdcard that i got with the phone. Putted it using rom manager on it. But then somehow i felt that those eye candy things are less important for me then nice functionality of the system.
So as i see CM is most complete and most popular rom that should be quite good. Or one of the best i guess.
But i what i am wondering. I have now CM6 on my G1. And sometimes its kind of a littlebit slow you know. So one question i have, would an earlier version CM5 for example be some kind of faster? Althou i have read on wikipedia android page that "2.2 (Froyo) introduced speed improvements with JIT optimization and the Chrome V8 JavaScript engine". And that CM6 is based on 2.2. So it kind of not supposed to be slower.
Basicly Microsoft Exchange support would be nice to have for me. Because im IT pro and it was nice expirience to have both, personal and work email on my last phone i used (nokia 5800). As i see CM5 can do that. Since exchange support is since version 2.0/2.1 as i see on internet. But then would CM5 be any faster then CM6? And is CM7 slower?
Also bluetooth and camera support is pretty nice to have. So i would rather go with CM i think then, then with SenceLX. Althou its nice to have something like that. Let's imagine if i didnt need bluetooth and camera, then i can use it i guess.
Thanks in advance,
MVG,
Nikolai
edit: or is it time to get a faster phone? Because i actually just got the G1. Because i havent found anything better with full keyboard. And BB 8520 has no GPS, and no auto focus, and no Android. So i took G1. But i guess it maybe can be better with something faster. Tell me what do you think.
sense lx looks wow!!!! pretty good...but i couldnt have it running for me as a daily use rom....i was on eclair, htc clay's super bad for almost 7 months and loved it...also tried a few froyo's which were nice....
didnt fancy cm's much....
yoshi is really good...ginger yoshi ofcourse better than froyo yoshi...
also, cos ds gingerbread is worth a try!!!
mind u, for all the gingerbreads u need to have the latest radio and spl(2.22.28.25 or 2.22.27.08 with 1.33.0013)...
if you want smoothness and functionality i would suggest a stable froyo rom, but update your radio to 2708/2825 for the extra 15mb ram hack adds some speed to the device... my personal favorite was froyo by laszlo with ezbifftest 2708 kernel but it hasn't been updated in so long so im sure there's more stable froyo roms available... i've just been busy keeping senselx up to date and currently me and maximo are building a froyo rom from source so once thats at a stable point i will reccomend it and would love some testers and opinions
THAT'S LOVELY...WOULD LOVE TO TRY THE FROYO, STABLE OFCOURSE!!!!
currently hooked to gingeryoshi
I like Ginger Yoshi also.
I see here is great info on topic.
